Since everyone keeps asking for ROM kitchen for Diamond - here it is:

It is slightly modified and updated well known kaiser rom kitchen to work with Diamond. It has been tested with my Diamond and looks like it works ok.

First backup everything and read "!!!readmefirst!!!.txt".

I'm using the kaiser kitchen from the beginning I had my diamond. Just needed some little changes, so you can flash to your diamond. As far as I can see: it works without problems, flashed many rom's(rom junkie xl :P )

I've just modified the .BAT files as you mentioned. As I am not an expert(just a home-cooker) I'm not going to post a modified kitchen. Just take the download from the 1st post. Al the credits goes to the names in the first post and as sais: many others

If they're dump files, then get any official RUU_Signed.nbh from Diamond ROM flasher anywhere and put it together with 2 dump files (Part01 and Part02) inside the BseROM folder. Then select number 2 from this kitchen to do the job.

Like this:

1. RUU_Signed/unsigned nbh file from any official/cooked Diamond ROM but preferably the official one (But must be renamed to RUU_SIgned.nbh) + Part01.raw + Part02.raw ---> BaseROM Folder

2. Enter number 2 when executing !BEGIN.cmd batch file...........so and so...


This kitchen is modified from some other kitchen.

Some small findings:
1.the splitted .nbh convertes an 00_Unknown.nb.
that should be the Radio.nb, right ?

2.The extracted 02_MainSplash.nb will be converted to an 240x320 pixel bmp. should be 480x640.

I've made only a short test with the HTC_Europe_1.37.401.3, but it semms the !begin script causes some errors while extraction.

Can someone confirm, that the kitchen works on Diamond ?
Works the rebuild from a .raw dump to build a valid backup ROM ?

to rebuild rom from RAW dump you should check if you have valid raw files and SUITABLE base rom. suitable means same version - different language/region - coz rom rebuilding works only if dumped rom and base rom has same version. you can't rebuiled dumper 1.34 rom with 1.37 base.

You can use any 1.37 ROM whether it is CHT or WWE. So, RUU_DIamond_HTC_Asia....1.37.707.1 will do

Nope. If you're using this kitchen from JugglerLKR then it's already in there. Select the option for Diamond. The correct settings will be:

Device: DIAMOND *
Model ID: DIAM*****
Country ID: 11111111
Version: 1.37.832.4 CHT (It's your choice)
Language: CHT

I have problem to dump my rom. I started with:
pdocread -l
210.63M (0xd2a0000) DSK1:

then I try to dump it by:
pdocread -w -d DSK1 -b 0x800 -p Part00 0 0x31f000 Part00.raw
CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x31f000, Part00.raw)
ERROR: ITReadDisk: outbuf==NULL
- The device is not ready for use.

Do you know what I did wrong? Why there is error?

Hi Dareks,

I had the same issue (very new at all this), but found that the name of the disk you are trying to dump is DSK1: not DSK1 (colons)

So do exactly what you have already done, but change the command to this:

pdocread -w -d DSK1: -b 0x800 -p Part00 0 0x31f000 Part00.raw

and you should be good to go.

Part01 is your XIP and Part02 is your imgfs. You need it to rebuild a ROM you dumped. Basically, this IS your ROM.
And yes, you need the usb cable, obviously. Or you can download via BT or whatever way you sync with activesync.

Why would you want to rebuild a ROM made by somebody?
Download the virgin ROM and make your own mods.

i get Diamond ROM Kitchen and rapi tools and was able to dump raws from RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE-ME_1.93.456.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.0 0.25.05_Ship but is not the latest OS i think

I'm using this kitchen to learn and create my personal ROM.

One thing I've noticed is that their seem to be problems with the rebuilding or extracting part.

Here's the thing, when I take a ROM extract it and rebuild it the volume control for the Diamond\Raphael don't seem to work anymore.
Since I haven't changed anything I guess it should. The package is in the OEM folder.

This is also the case with saving sound settings. After adding and removing different packages sometimes the sound settings aren't saved (using reg. settings from another thread it can be fixed, but it should be working without this fix). Can this be caused by this kitchen? Or is there something I'm missing?

During the extraction of ROM's I get some errors. These errors are the cause of it. Extracting some reg settings is not done because the format is not right. This sound problem is one of these reg settings I think. Besides that, I encountered no other strange things.

Tried to extract and rebuild AZTOR.
It worked, even with the volume control part.

At the moment I'm trying Vic's LT 2.5 but maybe I will use AZTOR's later on.

Now I want to use your v2.5 but during the OSBuild I receive an error in the following package: SYS\PACKAGE_Diamond_Opera_9
Can't say that this didn't happen on the previous version. Flashed to many times :P

I probably found the cause.

I think when you extract the ROM using the kitchen something might have messed up. Both these DSM files are found but they are located in different folders. d6303521-8f20-48fb-aa2e-3f733f5c94a5.dsm is in PACKAGE_Diamond_Opera_9.5_Build_1938_VGA_WWE_0409 and 4754b369-475d-42f5-b62b-869cc03f932b.dsm is in PACKAGE_Diamond_Opera_9.5_Build_1938_VGA_WWE. I think you can remove the entire PACKAGE_Diamond_Opera_9.5_Build_1938_VGA_WWE_0409 folder including the d6303521-8f20-48fb-aa2e-3f733f5c94a5.dsm file.


The ROM we're talking about is VIC's 2.5 LT. Any thoughts about this?

i trying to recook the dumped rom on my diamond, the version currently on the phone is 1.93.206.3 WWE, the instructions in the does exe's say that the raw and RUUsigned.nbh files are required in the base rom folder.
can i use the RUU signed.nbh from WWE_1.93.405.1 as the base ROM?

It flashed OK But screen flickers for first 10-15 mins anyone else had this? is it a bug or just my device? Well that's the test build done time to xip it up

I'm using this kitchen to learn and create my personal ROM.

One thing I've noticed is that their seem to be problems with the rebuilding or extracting part.

Here's the thing, when I take a ROM extract it and rebuild it the volume control for the Diamond\Raphael don't seem to work anymore.
Since I haven't changed anything I guess it should. The package is in the OEM folder.

i have the same problem with the volume-control. i learned to accept the "volume-situation".

rebuilding produces an error (cant extract bla bla bla) but its no problem.

for recooking (i dont know why i want to recook my own cooked rom :-)
i used the orig. ruu_signed.nbh (O2-german) and my *.raw's.
you can used this command too "pdocread.exe -w -h 0x27fb2752 -b 0x800 0 0x31f000 Part00.raw" (it's an example and only one command from four or five commands and use your own values !!!). than the *.raws will saved in the same directory where the pdocread.exe - command was it.

after i finished with cooking (many many houers later and sometimes only to see how often the diamond can restart and restart again before i got many angries to me and my self ... :-) i opend the ruu_signed.nbh with a hexeditor to change "KAIS" to "DIAM".

after i put all my needed (i dont needed realy, but i think it) programs to rom, i have free rom 10 MB (yes, its true, i mean ten) and free ram 20 MB (back toeten x800-times). not funny. now i find the my middle: a little bit programs to rom and the most other program after flashing installed on internal storage and than using a backup-tool. rom was not so big and the update was not so big too. reflashing and restore takes now 15 minutes - and i have all my (think-)needed programs.

Try a WWE rom like this, if this works then it must be to do with language of your roms, RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_1[1].93.405.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25 .05_Ship.exe also check your kitchen is v04 link below

In short yes and then you don't need the raw Files, just dump it and cook it

Note you only need the raw files if you are dumping the rom from your device so find a ship ROM and use that it's much easier

From a new kitchen click "!BEGIN.cmd" and when it all is finnished look in the temp folder,:D now Rename temp and move it some were on your PC, if you ever want to port your rom you'll need the files in there,
P.S. you will get errors if the rom your trying to remove xip from has bean cooked there's porting tut's if you search for them that will help IE it can "B" done but you need to learn:)

Hi all! My first post here after a lot of reading ! :D

I'm using this kitchen to modify a a shipped rom, basically I want (to start easy :) ) just to strip down some unwanted stuff in order to have more space. I've used the !Begin part whitout problems and now I have the SYS,OEM and ROM directories.

Now if I understood correctly reading around, I have basically three options:
- simpy delete the dirs of the oems and sys I do not want and cook the new rom;
- for each oem create the option.xml and initflashfiles.txt in order to make them visible in BuildOs (this will be also useful if I want to install apps in different location from the default one (?) ), select the packages I want and cook the new rom
- download form somewhere an archive with all the oems and stop worry and start loving :)

Please let me know if I understood it right or I've gotten all terribly wrong ! I'm doing this to learn something new, I think I will not flash any of the rom's i will evetually cook :p !

One last question: buildos+package_tools alway fails: when I try to open packages from OS.NB, ImgfsFromNb.exe keeps crashing ! I'm on vista, running the prog as administrator and with the latest Netfm . anybody got that problem?

hi to all, i have a problem while running firts step of a coocked rom. after a place the ruu_signed.nbh file in the baserom dir and i start !begin.cmd after some "press any key to continue" i receive a message that says "does temp\dump_imgfs specify a file name or directory name on the target?" so if i go in the temp folder there isn't no dump_img files and no dump_img folder, so what i have to chose?? tanks.

Ok, I don't really understand the whole ROM cooking thing, and all I really want to do is remove TF3D, so giving it a go... But I would think the Manila Package should be 21MB not like the 21KB package that I can find...

Ok, this is my first time trying to cook a ROM... I'm taking it easy first time, and just removing TF3D... I've read all the instructions, and sadly they don't quite make sense at the end:

Warning: resulted RUU_signed.nbh will contain only OS - no radio, spl and splash - this is done by design!

Ok, so how do I get these in my ROM... I'm just rebuilding my shipped ROM... following earlier posts, I have only selected the OS in Dark Simpson's ROM tool... Do I need to select these, or since I'm rebuilding a dumped ROM, am I ok...??

Ok, I kinda get this, I assume DiamonCustomRuu.exe is now my new ROM, but I notice I can't unpackage it with winRAR to see what's inside... I know I don't have to do this, but because I like to be careful, I just want to check everything... So I'm expecting it to be the same as the original ROM and openable, but it isn't... Does it still have all the other files in there like the shipped ROM... or am I just paranoid and it doesn't matter...?
