Fixed in 1st post!

Windows CE (also known officially as Windows Embedded Compact post version 6.0 [2][3], and sometimes abbreviated WinCE) is a variation of Microsoft's Windows operating system for minimalistic computers and embedded systems. Windows CE is a distinctly different kernel, rather than a trimmed-down version of desktop Windows. It is not to be confused with Windows XP Embedded which is NT-based. It is supported on Intel x86 and compatibles, MIPS, ARM, and Hitachi SuperH processors. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_ce

It's a naked version my friend, it's supposed to be like this!
Stripped build. This would be no 3rd party apps and most OEM apps ripped from the build. Would include ripping out Office and Java and would give the user the most choices of what they want to install.

Hey there! This was just what I was looking for!

Unfortunately I can't seem to find a networkwizard that actually works with this. I get to install the cab but when clicking on the icon, nothing happens. The program just won't start. I've searched on the forums and found nothing.

Is this problem specific to this ROM or is it something else?

Network Wizard is getting kinda old and may cause some problems as you might see, try HTC Connection Setup instead!

Great room, but the icons and programs could be worked better (the original) and he should have mobile office and live messenger.

The icons were removed on purpose, it's a naked ROM, same reason why there is no Office and no Live Messenger. It's stated at posts #1 and #10.

I think it is better to avoid "S" words pls.

But I should say also, thanks to your effort.

I wish you good COOKING career.

Either you're a hyper-pudic or have been living on an isolated island, 'cause there's nothing wrong in using the word SEXY, it's no worse than having it NAKED, but you'll learn what you can and what you can not as your status and reputation grows on the forum.

3G video calling works well! If anyone needs the Flamenco ringtone, I'll put up a fix, it's not a crucial issue though.
Acrobat Reader will be included in next release but no messenger.

Hi tnyynt

I found several issues in the business version but the last one is a bug

1- no sound in start menu.

2-when you include 6 tabs in HTC Home from start>settings>today>HTC home , the 6th tab will not appear >>>> but solved by soft reset :) ,,, but also when you go to favorite people in htc home , and click on a spot to add some one , it will not show the numbers that are added in the SIM card <<< maybe you are using an old version.

3- the default ring tone is not included.

4- when I go to start>settings>Sounds & Notification> notification to change the ring tone , by pressing the ok button or the X button , it wont close the Sounds & Notification screen !!

But all others are working grate
Waiting for the next version

1. Annoying sounds in start menu have been removed. If you want to readd them, check here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2249421&postcount=3)!
2. HTC Home's 6th tab (Music) needs to be enabled through Settings\Personal\Today\Items and check for a separate tab for HTC Home, tick the Music and tap ok. Works fine with me, also the Favorite People tab.
3. What's the Default Ringtone? If you are referring to Flamenco, it's being fixed as we speak.
4. Disable HTC Task manager for that operation or have it set to close apps only on Tap and Hold!

This doesnt work if you put it in startup - it just goes green (From the loading splash screen) and you cant use that space.

Hi kjpp,
the two ROMs which were uploaded on the 6th of July 2008 (so the second upload) have all bugs fixed (like task manager, IRDA, etc.) and have major improvements in speed and reliability. I advise everyone to reflash with the new ones.

I was wondering why you weren't cooking your own roms but now I see it was only a matter of time :)
My question to you, are you going to release your rom in colours other than blue? I'm a huge fan of FInixNOver's black rom. If not is it possible to change the colour after the rom is flashed or is this possible only with a black theme and cabs for the dialer, the media player etc?

Everything is possible at the cost of space and speed, overwriting current skin files in ROM takes up a lot of space you know (Today theme, Dialer, Media Player, CommManager, Calculator, etc.).
And to be honest, you have FInixNOver ROMs in 3 flavors, pure black, grey and green and now you have a blue one. What other usable decent color are you considering because I sure can't think of one?

It seems that you have missed the part where I said I like the black rom :D FInix hasn't released a 19588 rom yet and yours is blue. I only wanted to combine the black rom with the 588 core. I'm not looking for other colours ;)

It seems that you have missed the part where I said I like the black rom :D FInix hasn't released a 19588 rom yet and yours is blue. I only wanted to combine the black rom with the 588 core. I'm not looking for other colours ;)

Until now:
Its works Absolutely Fabulous .Thanks for your good job. :)

Till now, only one problem for me:confused:
-Bluetooth cooperation with CarKit Parrot Hands Free and stereo Headset motorola S9 are not optimum. All BT functions do not work good (such as take or starting /activating Cyberon Speed dial and ring by means of BT on the apparatus).

where are the bugs?
im trying to find some, but so far, not encountered any!!

exemple when using S2U2 (last version) when it run it close all the prg you got in memory instead of puting them in sleep mode... (not a S2U2 bug because it was working fine with Niax and Netdrg rom)

but i find the cure: i don't use S2U2 with this rom :D lol

i would never said so good thing about this rom if i were finding these few bugs enoying... by the way at this time i have NEVER find a rom with no bug at this time (even from original provider: eg the french orange rom)...

just test it and keep it if you find it usefull, if not, just take another one :) (and donate if you keep it as your main rom, they have pass time to cook them).

I have installed S2U2 just for testing this issue you have reported.
I started File Explorer, Contacts, Internet Explorer, Messaging, all confirmed and running in HTC Task manager.
S2U2 locked the screen and the put the device in sleep mode.
Resuming from sleep, unlock screen and I can confirm that running programs are still running in memory.
This is confirmed (so your bug report is unconfirmed) whith both settings in HTC Task Manager (close on tap and close on tap and hold) so it must be something else that is messing it up, something else you installed because I tested S2U2 just after flash!

by the way at this time i have NEVER find a rom with no bug at this time (even from original provider: eg the french orange rom)...

STILL NO BUGS IN ROM! :D

I did not include it in the SXY version as it's purpose is to be as stripped as possible.
I did not include it in the BSN version as it's not needed for a business user.
I will probably include it in a future STD or MED edition (which will address an average everyday user wich will have ballanced set of apps and speed for the everyday use, including multimedia.)

Meanwhile, you can try this one here (http://rapidshare.com/files/69611937/HTC_Streaming_Media.zip) and/or this one here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=58145&d=1195040893)!

I always use pmc todayshrink to have more space on today screen, but on this rom it is not work properly.

Try this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=960283&postcount=263) one! Just tested!

It is working, but not as it should. I just tested it on 003TNYSTD. When you use pmc todayshrink, only bottom bar is hidden (it is 100% working on FInixNOver rom).

Rom is very fast, and have almoust all what I need. Thanks tnyynt for this wonderful rom!:)

Im just wondering why some ROMS can hide the bottom bar properly and some can't. Is it a registry tweak of some sort? Ive tried the PDAViet roms and they too cannot hide the bottom softbar properly...

Any thoughts?

Referring to this issue, the difference between 00XTNYXXX and FInixNOver 3.4 is the OS version: 19588 uses gradient menus as you might have noticed. So this could be causing the behaviour described. And the battery icon used is another type.
Other than that, you can try changing the today theme (maybe that is causing the problem, but then, you will lose the blue look) or you can try hiding the Task Manager icon from the top bar.
If none work, contact the author (vijay555 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=248864)) for support, he can offer you more info.

Firstly, Excellent ROM, really responsive and nicely organised.

Quick question though, Is it possible to update the battery icons on the today screen with those that Flix used? I liked the percentage readout that displayed above the icon in his roms. If it's available in a CAB any anyone knows the location i'd appreciate it.

Thanks

I've just flashed 003TNYSTD and loving the look and feel but..

I can't configure SPB GPRS monitor, I go through the steps to set it up and when i click ok it exits but does not save the settings.

I also have a similar problem when trying to save the settings for my wireless; I change the power from best battery to best performance click ok and when I go back in to check it has not saved the settings.

Not sure what is causing these issues but i didn't have the same problems with FInixNOver's ROM's.

One thing that I really miss from FInixNOver's ROMS's as well is the task bar icons; it makes life so much easier when working with multiple apps. Don’t know if you can build this in or not but its a really nice feature.

Looking forward to your next release, Great work

Have you tried the procedure @ post #83? It's not a bug, HTC Task Manager closes the app without saving since you tap OK. If you set it to close only on tap and hold or temporarily disable it, it works. It is by behaviour.
So still no bugs! :D

No problem, just be specific and carefull about bug reports. I've made it a question of principle to build a bug free rom and I find it strange when people are reporting so called bugs when they do not exist, especially when installing 3rd parties.

What is very strange is that I have installed S2U2 on all 3 ROMs and that it is not reproducing the issue you are describing.
This, of course, after flash, with no third parties installed.
Take a look at the apps you installed in the ROM as I'm sure one of them is conflicting.

You might need to install this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=68452&d=1201911592) first! (only applies to people with other ROMs, having problems with the icons, in XXXTNYXXX ROMs it works without installing anything else!)

That would mean I have to recook the ROMs, so for now it's up to every user whether they want to use it via installing or not.
Maybe I'll consider it in next release, but I have left them out on purpose because I really don't like them but felt the need of posting them because some users (like you) indeed like them.

How about a pink one, only kidding.

I have been using some of your Today themes (the bright - white ones) - So I would really like you to consider to make a bright good looking theme - which would make your ROMS even more outstanding.

The problem with the dark themes is they are very difficult to use in bright daylight - it is much easier to use a white theme with black text.

Not for me, all of them come back with the "Image corrupted" error.

That would mean I have to recook the ROMs, so for now it's up to every user whether they want to use it via installing or not.
Maybe I'll consider it in next release, but I have left them out on purpose because I really don't like them but felt the need of posting them because some users (like you) indeed like them.

Hi again

Yah, I think you are right about leaving the cabs separate.

Now here is my feedback about the standard version

1-After using the rom for 4 hours, I start losing a lot of program memory, and that is with out using any other programs and with out installing any GPS programs. mabe you need these >>
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386948

2-I need to disable the (speed dial, call history, talk tone and leave the numbers tone, because the sound of the tone is distractible.

3-Still missing the start menu sound .

4-Pocket rar is important to be added also TCPMP is a little bit heavy while opining lots of videos and sounds , I think real player is missing in the multimedia.

The rom is fantastic & I'll stick with it

I have been using some of your Today themes (the bright - white ones) - So I would really like you to consider to make a bright good looking theme - which would make your ROMS even more outstanding.

The problem with the dark themes is they are very difficult to use in bright daylight - it is much easier to use a white theme with black text.

The first condition for a cook to prepare a custom ROM with a color scheme is for him/her to like the scheme.
No hard feelings, but I'm not really into bright schemes, so I believe this will be well postponed. You can still customize the device by applying custom today schemes and/or by extracting and editing existing device skins (ie. CommManager, Calculator, Dialer, MediaPlayer) and reapplying it. Most of the files can be found in \Windows folder

1. About memory loss, I am not experiencing this. For instance, I just returned from a business trip. This involved sending emails, sms messages, heavy phone calls, gps navigation, a few pictures. Came back home and checked, I have 23.45 MB free memory. I think it is acceptable after all of today's things. Maybe you have installed some third party app which keeps eating memory, and again, please do not assign to the ROM issues which occur after installing other software, I can only guarantee for the ROMs (This one is valid for everyone, nothing personal!)
2. That is true, will be fixed in next release.
3. I've written two posts, one here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2069514&postcount=16)and one here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2158746&postcount=138), which are meant for disabling start menu popup. You can do the same, but reversed, to enable them.
4. PocketRar will be probably included in next STD release.

With me it's almost instant, I mean takes under 1 second to show the complete dialer from the moment of pressing the green key. Maybe some third parties?

I am a fan of FiNix's Roms, not using any other for a long time now...

I'm currently using the black 3.4 version. And i am very happy with it.

About your rom, i am going to try it out, but i have one question to you.
It seems to me you are using the previous version off system.
Why not the latest one? (19213)

hi tnyynt..:)
I´ve downloaded the clean rom..and i have some considerations to left...
First off all, thanks for your hard work your rom is EXTREMELY fast!! Excellent storage and free ram!! I dont have any troubles using it neither software related problems..Your add-ons keep the blue aspect, so beautifull and clean..Congratulations:D!! so far my favourite!!

Now the things that i think you can improve..
1- the second splash screen.. its green and your rom blue..why dont you put another, htc like or a blue one?
2- entering the OS (input pin)..green like issue..rom blue and keypad green..
3-why dont you remove the windows update and customer support?

This is my point of view..hopping that you do more roms, because you rock man!:D

Well I can also confirm that unfortunately these ROMs will not work on P3600i. I changed the header on the Business and Standard ROM's and tried them both.
Flashes OK but stops at the 2nd splash screen and will go no further.
Its a bummer as I really like what you have done.....oh well....back to PDAVIET37 for me.

1. Splash screen is default, as you might have notice also the boot screen and it will remain at default. it's my way of personalizing ROM via non personalizing the boot.
2. You might be true about that, it slipped my mind testing it as I don't use PIN lock on my device so I'll look into it! (Update: just tested and is all ok here. Could you post a screenshot and version you are using?)
3. Will do!

I am using now STD version and it is working OK and very fast but I found a very big file in ROM (\Windows), it is mxip_initdb.vol and is using up to 16Mb! That's so big.

What I want to say is that it is the correct size for that file (I do not have a tone of contats and messages) or is incorrect and should be smaller.

Thanks in advance.

It's common, as you can see here (mxip_initdb.vol site:forum.xda-developers.com)!
Actually, the file is for storing contacts, calendar, speed dial entries, tasks, contacts filtering and call history informations.
Now there are people who claim that the file increases and there are people who claim they have a valid workaround (http://www.airfagev.com/forum_view.asp?nav=1&msg_id=92804&referer=forum_topics.asp%3Fcode%3Dall) for shrinking it. same as Jeanxito!...the sexy version (i only tested this one so don't really know if the others have the same prob!)

The pin input when entering the OS is Green and not blue...don't know if it something residual from the Finixnover but i don't think so...i had the green one but change to black and the PIN INPUT was black, so if it was residual problem the pin input should be black and not green like the one we have!

I'll try and re-install to see if the problem continues and report back as soon as i can

Kudos for removing help files, but.. removing the default task manager isn't a very good idea, the htc task manager isn't as reliable, I've had it freezing a couple of times, I'd rather have it removed than the default one.

#care, so does resco explorer, a task manager isn't supposed to be a reg editor.

dotfred has also hanged on me like the htc task manager.

Unfortunately I can not vouch for third parties. It could be some incompatibility issues with other ROM content or it could be general issue with WM6.1 or just by design.

Only way to turn it to green is to reset the phone. Anyway to resolve this?

I am experiencing another issue with this ROM. (001TNYSXY)
Basically I can't use any memory hibernation programs. I've always used and loved the eLiAs auto hibernate but with this rom, whenever it starts to auto hibernate in the background the pda would crash. I then got the Oxios Hibernate and the system would crash again when I manually activate the program.

Anyone else is expericing similar issue? Is there a known conflict with these type of program and others?

Thanks,
I have tested eLiAs auto hibernate with 003TNYSTD and it worked fine. Have you installed any third party? Basically, the SXY version differs only by the Pocket Digital Clock so eventually you might check that for conflict, but I don't believe so.

Errm.. This is the 4th time I re-flashed. Perhaps, it might due to the screen itself.
*#06# worked fine with me on all ROMs, tested it. No side effects. You don't have to tap the Talk button after *#06#. Maybe that was the problem! *#06# is enought!

Howdy!

The ROM is fast and stable. However, it has problems with Cyberon's Voice Speed Dial - after installing it, I cannot activate VSD's settings in WM's Settings tab. When I click the icon, nothing happens.

Fortunately, if I edit my contacts one by one, I can "Add voice tag" to them and it works when I push the Voice Dial button on the side of the Trinity.

Haven't tried dialing with the Bluetooth headset, hopefully it works.

Update:
The one I installed is Cyberon's Voice Speed Dial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=50839&d=1189954212) and then Akula's Voice Speed Dial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=34851&d=1172927649), but both behave the same, although the latter is a smaller install.

i just discovered that its just the shortcut to the WM control panel is ''broken''.
you can create a new link to the start menu by just create a shortcut of the CVDsetting.exe that you will find inside the Windows folder.

if someone knows how to fix the control panel shortcut would be great!

Thanks, I will try that.

Update:
Now works with tnyynt's 005 version ROM, no tweaking needed. Thank you, tnyynt.

Say, for example, I happen to have maybe bought a Diamond....

I still love my trinity and want to use it for a PDA/GPS device for work/driving. How difficult would it be to make a ROM for it that doesn't have any phone features, basically ignoring the fact it is a phone. Save battery, storage space, etc?

Just curious

Well, if you only need it for navigation, then you shouldn't care about storage space as it would probably have nav software and maps on storage card.
Other than that, turn on flight mode and use it as a PDA without the SIM.
