after downloading which file? the tf3d config tool .cab? or the .theme file?
the .cab file you simply transfer to your device and run it there.
the .theme file - you create \themes folder on your internal storage, put the file there and then in the tool in the theme tab you choose the path to the \themes folder and then you should be able to choose your theme from the drop-down menu & click "apply" or something similar (possible translation errors, my diamond is in german;)) and then start. in the end you restart your device, and voila!

my AppToDate has been telling me there was an update to 0.6.7.1 for a while - but the update fails.

qouting myself here... any more info? I have read of others reporting this...
Tried everything I could think of (getting .cab from versionulr out of apptodate - reinstalling both tools in various orders - ...)

So what I did for now is change \Application Data\AppToDate\DiamondTF3DConfig.xml so AppToDate thinks I have 0.6.7.1

Hope next version will be 0.6.8 - then I won't have any problem ;)

I can run the program after I rename the file tweaks.xml. But then there is nothing listed in the tab Tweaks. So I wonder if any better way to handle the exception problem.

Use the tweaks.xml file I posted in here earlier (and here again) for use on the Telus CDMA phones. I expect it will work on the Sprint ones as well.

Can you be more specific than "it will not run"? Does it start up and crash (in which case, give the error details)? Does it give you the whirly color wheel, and then return to OS?

Did you put the file I gave you into the right location? Have you tried doing a soft reset lately?

you can find out your rom version in start->settings->system tab->device information (roughly translated from "geraete-information")

however, i've upgraded my rom from 1.37 to 1.93 (ger) and it still works

Sadly I am getting an error too.

Using Dutty's 1.6 so TF3D comes as default.

Tried removing and reinstalling program, tried hard reset and re-flashing and tried deleting the xml file :(

Hi all!!

Thanks for this great app! I had a weird Orange Diamond and i can now get back the original manilla design...

Anyway, i saw that the app needs 20Mo to apply the new theme, but it seems that it does not free this memory after... So it only left 3 Mo of free memory on main storage and i now have error messages saying i should delete some files...

Did i miss anything ? Is there a way to get back those 20Mo ?

Just installed this program and then tried a theme and now I can`t get TF3D working. The phone stops at "Tap here to launch TouchFlo 3d", which I do it seems to attempt to launch it and then just stops. I can use the Start menu and hard buttons but no Today screen or any of the others. I`ve uninstalled Tf3d config after reverting to the default theme but still no luck. looks like a hard reset is needed.

Found 3 _manila files but couldn`t delete them but after checking for read only attributes and removing the tick I still couldn`t delete them but I could rename 2 of them. The third is shown as being in ROM and no matter what I couldn`t delete it. So its still not working. Think I`ll stick a new ROM on it, its been a while since I updated it.

I got this and the HTC black theme working with no problems on o2 Ignito running 1.93 ROM.

Had to D\L .Net 3.5 and install beforehand, but once I had that on the phone I could run the Config, and pick the path to the 'Themes' folder i created with no problems. Make sure you unzip the theme you have downloaded!

For all who getting an exception while starting my tool:

Your Registry is wrong! Maybe this is caused by a bad ROM or a bad tweak tool!

Check this key:

HKLM\Drivers\TouchPanel

The value PressureThreshold should be a DWORD (REG_DWORD)

(Many people have this problem and got STRING (REG_SZ) for PressureThreshold, but this is wrong!)

You have two options:

1.: You delete the tweak.xml in program directory of my tool
OR
2.: You change PressureThreshold to DWORD in Registry

mine WAS set to dword but still woudn't work, deleting tweak did it... thanks!

I can seem to get it to work on a 1.93 ROM - so far so good.

Although the one big problem with this application, and also with Advanced Config 3.2 I might add, is they don't seem to support the calendar tab, and don't seem to be able to re-order tabs correctly on some of the newer cooked ROMS such as Pasnosha's 1.8.

In fact TF3D sees the calendar tab as 'unknown' (fair enough) but then it seems to overwrite some manila files when you try and re-order the tabs which means you lose the calendar tab...

Hopefully sushi can provide an update soon or a mechanism that would allow the proper handling of all future 'unknown' tabs :)

yeah i have that to after using the sprint diamond, also with the black theme i get a big delay when viewing weather and then switching to another tab, takes like 5-10 seconds to show up the other tab. This only happy when i view the weather tab and try to switch to another tab. i return back to default and it doesn't happen, i like the original gsm theme so much but i cannot get it to work stable because of this with my sprint diamond

If you changed your theme and the starmenu background image is still the same after softreset:

Change in: HKLM\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu
the value for ManilaCustomTexture to "\Windows\stBackImage.png".

If ManilaCustomTexture not exist, create it.

I would like to hide/remove the call history and saw a post indicating that T3FD Config can hide it from one of the extended themes. However, I can't seem to find where I might do that within T3FD. Was it part of the GSM Diamond tweaks and omitted in the CDMA Diamond tweaks file?

I'd appreciate any help.

I have managed to break my programs tab by using ApptoDate to get latest Diamond TF3D Config. It claims version 0.6.7.1 is available and downloads and installs. It left an extra icon in the programs list and it still said 0.6.7 in the info tab. I noticed that at the end of the programs tab there was one extra empty block (13 blocks not 12). I uninstalled it and it left one of the programs in there but didn't have the right icon, just the standard windows app icon. I removed this from windows\start menu\programs so there should be nothing left.

I installed the cab file that was downloaded by apptodate and it still installed the same version. I still had the extra block but thought great, I have another slot to use in programs tab so I added another program there. it didn't show the program and added an extra block. I tried again and it added an extra block. So now I have 15 blocks but only 12 useable. In TF3D config it still shows 13 slots and the last was TF3d config - I removed this with TF3d config but the 13th slot is still there but with Empty. I will try to get some screenshots to attach and then try restoring default manila to see if that fixes.

Update: I tried restoring the theme through TF3D config but it is still the same. I don't want to Hard Reset this as I have just got it working the way I want it. Any help would be much appreciated.

I would like to confirm something if I could get some help. I read through most of this thread but just want to make sure I have this right. For the Sprint Diamond I can install the Diamond TF3D Config tool and the latest tweaks cab and then this should work correct?

I saw a few pages back someone saying you needed to delete some of the contents of the tweak file but then someone posted another tweak file and I'm not sure if that overrides the original.

It seems thhat this prog doesnt have any effects on my device. I have 1.93 off. german rom. Installed your latest version. Lauchned without a problem. Removed some tabs - restart. Those deleted tab are still visibile, but on the end of all tabs. In the prog. then I have tab "internet" and "weather" two times - checked and unchecked. How can i fix that ?

It can be fixed with registry
in HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher
there are a list of keys with a number
just delete the last few which have no program attached and your "Extra Buttons" will be removed

All I did was remove the EnableHSUPA registry key that was mentioned just above your post. I didn't remove anything to do with the themes (extended or regular). Sorry. I haven't actually applied a theme to mine yet. :)

I got my SFR (Vodafone) HTC Touch Diamond 3 weeks ago. I tried your software with the 1.37 ROM. It worked perfectly.

But this weekend I found that there are new ROMs for SFR's HTC (here is the link (http://dl.htc.com/ruudownload/SFR/DeviceDownloads.aspx) for the French who are interested ;) ). And for the Diamond it's the 1.93.
After the upgrade of my HTC, I installed again your software (ver 0.6.7) to change the settings of TF3D.
I tried this afternoon to change the theme. I didn't remember that you said not to change theme with the 1.93 ROM.
But it worked fine. Except that i couldn't change the branded style of the homepage. It's unchecked in the program but i still have the SFR logo and the date bellow the time.

I get back to the original theme as soon as i read again this thread, just in case.

So now, the question. Why shouldn't we change theme with 1.93 ROM ? It seem to work.

you dont need anything only net 3.5 if you install it its done the program must run ???!!!

mmmm What rom you have on your device ?

look man do this it will activete NET 3.5 hope then the program work for you (you better do this anyway for you diamond)

go to registry on you device and go to
HKLM - Software - Microsoft - .NETCompactFramework
and change as follows:
2.0.7045.00 -> set 0 (was 1)
3.5.7283.00 -> set 1 (was 0)

and then reset your device

try running the program again and see

I keep trying to apply a theme but I don't manage to suceed.
I am using DuttyThroy's Diam V2.2 which has TF3D Config 0.6.7 already included in the ROM, I can't find the HTC Home Plugin Disable feature though and I have copied 3 themes into Internal Storage/Themes and they are just not there or I don't see them anyway, please help me with this, if not please tell me where I can copy the image files so it will work because I don't know where in the Windows folder should I do it.

This file will allow the application to fire up with the tweaks displayed. I tried the PressureThreshold tweak, and it went through ok.

I have been looking at this tool, and various themes, that I would like to try. I have an O2 XDA Ignito, which has the blue manila theme. I want to get back to the HTC or equivalent Black theme.

What is the real problem regarding using TF3D Config 0.6.7 and a 1.93 ROM. What exactly does it not do? Does it not apply the theme correctly or can you not back out the theme if you don't like it?

If a theme file is just a zip of loads of smaller .manila files to be dumped over all the /windows folder, what would happen if you applied a theme using TF3D, wanted to backout, and deleted all the .manila files from the /windows folder? Would TouchFow stop working?

I do not want to flash my Diamond as the 1.93 rom with a load of tweaks is running fine. I even get the GPS working.

So, what are the problems, what are the workarounds, when might there be a version compatible with 1.93 ROMs?

I maybe able to help - slightly!! - have just been through this issue with my own o2 Ignito - non flashed etc etc.

So in answer - with regard what has worked for me:

1. TF3D Config - works fine except I cannot load any themes - it does'nt cause any issues just will not load

2. I can install themes using Total Commander - by copying across to my windows directory - you need to use TC or similar on your XDA as Vista hides the files.

3. What is useful about TF3D Config is that it will take off any manila files you have copied across to your windows directory - restoring it back to O2 condition. Allowing you to play around with themes safe in the knowledge you can restore with out hard reset

Now I'm sure others will be far more helpful and have much more knowledge - but hope it helps a bit

Yes, I can read the big bold words. I first followed those instructions and deleted that file, but that only resulting in totally screwing up my diamond, requiring a hard reset.

I then tried again without deleting that file, but I get an app error and it doesn't work.

So, I'm looking for a little assistance beyond the recommendation to re read the original post. But thanks though.

Reading through this thread i found some hints regarding the "black start menu font color" and that a related bug is "fixed"...

I installed 0.6.7 and changed over to the htc black extended theme (colored icons, with caller list) and noticed, that the text in the start menu remains black (on dark ground - pretty unreadable). Same for the application list in "applications -> all apps". Changing to standard htc black solves the black color in the start menu, but not in the application list.

Original Theme is from t-mobile.

Is there any registry key or other solution to change this 2 black font colors into something more readable?

Edit: Same for the music library!

you have to delete the tweaks.xml if you're trying to run this on a sprint diamond. use file explorer to locate the folder and manually delete the offending file.

I got T-Mobiles new MDA Vario IV (HTC touch pro) with the awful pink smart dailer. I already downloaded your program but it doesn't seem to be working, it just opens Web'n'Walk (Internet) but that turns out a blanc screen.

i have a sprint diamond and this program fails for me as well. registered cf 3.5 as mentioned and do not have tweak.xls anywhere error says an unexpected error has occurred in diamond tf3d details are:

Go into the program folder, should be Device/program files/TF3Dconfig/tweaks.

Just delete it and it should work, mine did!

I don't know how you're getting "into" the TF3D file. For the sake of clarity, I'm going to explain what I'm doing. Maybe you can direct me to the right thing.

I can go from the phone START on top left corner, open PROGRAMS and see the Diamond TF3D config program. If I open it, it opens to an error. I have no other option to get into this file to edit any settings. So I can't get into it in order to find and delete the tweaks file. I can't get past the error message.

I can go from Start/Programs/File Explorer and find the file also, but it's an installation only file and that gets me nowhere. It only allows me to install and/or delete old file and install.

I can enter from my PC when the phone is hooked up to the PC, go from the phone to internal storage then programs, where I installed this program. All I can do here is install the program, just like two paragraphs above.

Am I doing this right? Is there another location I should try? I tried to put it on my device and it didn't work there either. Please help. Thanks!

- I've removed music tab and checked tweaks 4. After reboot in the Home tab the list of appointments was replaced by "Calendar" item. How can I replace it?
- As probably you know I've developed a little finger-friendly app to quickly add a new appointment (link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=434760). How can I add as a new Manila tab?

I don't know if the attached version of the TF3D Config is different then other versions, but I couldn't get this one to work on my stock Sprint Diamond. However, I was able to get the version of the program found on 'the touch blog' to work, without deleting any tweak files.

So, if you've got a problem with your Sprint Diamond, trying the other one.

One question, though. IN this app you can re-order and remove tabs on scroll bar which is great. Is there a way to add programs to the scroll. Like replace music or Sprint TV with Excel, for example?

you change the background in the settings tab.wallpaper.
to have background on all tabs you need mun_rus cab which is
on here somewhere.its under manilla mods by mun_rus.it doesnt work on all phones though.

I've installed and been using this app for a couple weeks now and all of a sudden it stopped working. Getting an error about not being able to lauch the program. I uninstalled, and reinstalled with the same error. The only thing different is I installed Happy Tapping keyboard, which I've since deleetd because I didn't like it any better. Anyways, the TF3D problem still exists.

I tried the solution fixes (tweak.xml file doesn't exist and I don't know how to edit HKLM\Drivers\TouchPanel).

So could there be anything else?

Why all of a sudden did this happen?

I am new to WM6, in fact new to WM period - having come from Palm OS, so I'm still learning the windows platform!!!

As Dutty said - from now his ROM will only support WWE, because all new shipped Manila is going to be language specific.

I have a problem though, when i change the theme the bottom and top menu in windows (where your start menu is, and the icons etc.) becomes gray, instead of the black color i normally has. How can i change this?

i dont know if anybody else has the same problem but i have a crash of manila when i have activated the "htc album close" option. i thought it was a problem with a costum skin of tf3d but i tried several.
when choose the "music"-tab everything is all fine but if i want to change to another tab it crashes. only a reboot helps.
then i disabled this option and all runs fine.
i changed my tab-order to home-messages-music-programs-people-pics....

i dont read the whole thread...so however the problem is still hotfixed

Delete the tweak file. It is mentioned in several previous posts recently.

for me it works with 1.93 but there is a little problem when adding new programs to the programs tab the text is black on black background *g* but that doesn't bother me much

I got my Diamond second hand with the 1.93 rom on it already, and want to change the themes, but they're not appearing in the themes list.

I can run the CAB file itself and the theme installs, but to uninstall it isn't pretty. It completely munts the phone and I have to do a hard reset when I want a new theme on it?! That's not nice. I'd rather use a cool app like this to change it.

I'm new to these devices, so maybe there's a simple answer.


When I check my MDA IV after midnight, I get the message 'starting 3DTF' and then I get my normal homescreen. After installing TF3D config and the O2 blue theme, I sometimes get the message 'Click here to start 3DTF'. But wherever I click, the device doesn't respond and I have to use a soft reset.
I'm would like to use a transparent clock with TF3D config, can I use any clock application on this forum in combination with TF3D? (A suggestion for a transparant clock would be appriciated).

I use my alarm - a lot.

I've noticed when using a different theme(htc black currently) I'm able to set my alarm, but when it goes off, there is no access to it's functions(ie: snooze, turn off, ramp up....). Even going into the Alarm settings allows me to uncheck the alarm function, but the alarm still keeps going off. The only way to silence it and/or to turn it off, is to do a soft reset.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Any help or fix for it?

Also, all the text(except for the settings panel and home screen) is black and I can't read any of it unless it's highlighted because of the black background. What's the fix for that?

Ramer, you can change /HKCU/MUI/CurLang registry to 2052 (DEC) to make it simplified chinese. It worked on my Juicy Diamond with Samau Chinese Font installed. Actually everyone can change it to your preferred language you have the right code. boxhillab has some codes for Chinese

Traditional Chinese:
Chinese (Taiwan) 1028
Chinese (Hong Kong S.A.R.) 3076
Chinese (Macau S.A.R.) 5124

i removed the music tab with this program and then installed a theme by copying into the windows folder. now I have 2 music tabs 1 ticked and showing, the other ticked. now I can't remove the music tab. I've tried removing the theme but 3 still have the problem. any help gratefully received.

Also after I removed the theme, I haven't recovered the 20mb. Is there a manual way of clearing out the memory?

There is a one very stupid feature in Diamond: when a password view appears while phone is charging, the clock cannot be seen until entering password and unlock the phone. Do you know (have) any solution available for that? I suppose it won't be impossiple to develope the password view little futher: there is space for clock display, isn't it.

I have downloaded the zip, didn't know where to put the extracted files so read somewhere to create and put them in a folder called Themes on Internal Memory.

Used file explorer and ran the setup file and all happens is the opera browser opens and just goes completely blank.

Any ideas and sorry if mentioned many many times but i'm lost.

Thanks prodeo, removing the tweaks.xml worked to get the program loaded. But now I don't have any tweaks, the registery fix was not an option since mine was already a dword.

Anyway to get this to work on my diamond with the tweaks?

Wow, I used this tool on my new Sprint Touch Pro and I am amazed. I did not think the TF3D performance would really make a difference but I sure noticed it right away. Great app!
