new ipaq 614 :) question ...

I won a 614c ....hmm lucky guy :)

I have some questions:

1. on what port will igo 2008 work with my ipaq?
2. where is the QUICK GPS Icon ? -> can I activate it from the registry ?
3. How do I turn OFF the annoying T9 ? -> or, how can I set it for my language : Romanian ?
4. where can I acces the SIM contacs ? the phone part of this iPAQ is totally annoying me for now ...

1. autodetect, or port 6 ;-)
2. no quick gps
3. press * as many times until u see abc at the top
4. well its WM6 ... sim contacts should show up in contacts

no quick GPS ??? why is my firend having it on his htc then ?
and ..I cannot start the GPS ...I mean, im in, GPS is detected ,but no satellites show up :(
what should I do ???


stil, I c an't make the GPS work.

for those who don’t like to switch between there language and tx9 and prefer to switch between there language and English (abc) you can disable the priority of the tx9 by installing this cab

what abouit igo 2008. r u using it ? mine still cannot detect satelites :(

I'm sorry to say we don’t have igo 8 yet :o
any way I cannot say I have tried it myself
but from what I have heard :rolleyes: if you go to your device program file/igo 8 you will find a sys.txt
add these lines to what you already have there in the txt using your home pc then the program will work :)

pleas note that you need to have one line blank before adding

set_messages=0

pleas edit the text and report

ok I will do that.
tried to set them from the program itself and its actinv strange.
also I tried to set them from the GPS aplication that come within setting and also noluck
I will try this and report.

hmm I managed to start it jsut 2 times (igo2008) -> i mean the gps signal
from that time on, it stopped detectig sattelites :(
it's so stupid. I will try for a change with igo2006 and keep u updated.

are there any twaks that I can make to work better with my GPS/ sattelites as I don;'t have quick gps ? :(

can I get quick gps and install/configure from a another WM6 device ? (a friend has here a HTC touch cruise, everything works fine for him with quick gps+igo2008 :( )

and, can I make registry tweaking or smf, so that everytime I write sms, I automaticlly have : ABC instead of T9 ?

if i-go 8 has problems with identifying the gps you didn't follow my instructions correctly

...tried it yet

still nothig. I start to think that the problem is the space that I have outside the office. maybe its causing not to find the sattelites.
do you know what settings I need to have, in SETTINGS > EXTERNAL GPS ?
