It's found there are several issues when running S2U2 on Diamond. An intermidiate fix is that:
1. Disable DirectDraw will prevent the occasional blank screen;

2. Enable NoBackLightCheck (it's only valid in v1.05 or later; create a DWORD value with name NoBackLightCheck and value 1 under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2; restart iLock2) will make IdleStart works again.

Known issues:
1. CallerID does not work.

2. Home key cannot be locked.

3. "S2U2 Settings" has error when it's scrolling about half the way.

A new version of S2U2 v1.10 is released at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412418.

thank you for yr concern. the only thing that real bother me is my diamond always answering my calls due to the pressure from the belt case. i realy hate that. i miss s2u2 soooooo much. please do something. no need of gifs or fancy clocks. only a slide to unlock and caller id that works with the diamond. please!...

I have the same problem as you, 9up, try to slide about 5-10mm above the slider, and it should unlock your phone (under the middle of the screen I guess.)

Please read the 1st post of v1.12

- added option to lock the hardware keys further by "Keyboard Hook"; useful to those devices that come with some keys that cannot be locked in the previous version; but may conflict with other key remapping software; When it's disabled, the Volume Up/Down keys will not be mapped with the new Volume Control.

- in pair with "Keyboard Hook", use ReLockWaitMS to set how long (in ms) it will wait & relock again.

Pls understand that many devices have keys that cannot be locked unless the system lock is invoked. These keys are always related to start the ROM upgrade process.

With S2U2 v1.10 or v1.12, the "Keyboard Hook" is added to capture the input of all keys. So when S2U2 think it's locked, it'll try it's best to regain the focus of the system. I know it's not a perfect solution, but it's what I call a possible solution at the moment.

Hi A_C! I've tried the newer version 1.12, it was great and smooth. But I've found 1 bugs that I can't adjust the ear volume while I'm in phone, have to turn on the phone and adjust the volume by the touch screen only. I've tried to disable the volume control/ keep back light on, reinstall s2u2, soft reset...etc, but the problem still there. Would you pls fix it in next version? Everything work perfect but only 1 little bug I've found. Thank you so much and looking forward to the next version!

Installed the last version, for the first time.

When there is an incoming call, the phone is stuch on the S2U2 screen, and I'm not able to slide 2 unlock, no CallerID, not able to answer the call at all. The Hardware keys answer and DPAD (only) are flashing forever (even after the caller hangs up).

After that failed incoming call, everything seems to be stuck, and I have to SR the device.

Any suggestions?

I just thought I'd test Caller ID (to see if it would work at all) and it worked perfectly for me, picture displays full screen as I selected and the slide 2 answer worked fine, once i used the slider, the screen changed to the HTC skinned phone in-call interface. If you press the hang up button, it ignores the call.

Could this be due to the new ROM (1.93)?

Yeah, I've also run into this problem, and set up, 10sec for backlight and 40 seconds for screen lock, and in S2U2 turned off, "Lock when backlight turns off" and set to ON "Lock when device wakes up"
So, in this case, you can do whatever you want, unless WM will not turn off the screen you will not be locked ;)

Small issue I had once was after receiving a call, S2U2 then seemed to stop running and wouldn't lock anymore... not sure what happened but a soft reset sorted it out. Hasn't happened again, yet, so not sure if it is a bug. Has this happened to anyone?

Also, has anyone managed to skin or find some new images of the slider arrow and answer/hangup buttons? On the dimaond they appear a little pixilated. I know there is a main thread for this kind of s2u2 customisation, but it's quite big and wanted to know if someone has manged to find something specifically for the diamond. I don't want to create whole new themes or anything like I've seen in the thread, just a bit of improvement on the default to make use of the diamond's excellent screen...

I have been using the new version 1.12 on my Diamond and maybe i am missing somthing here maybe a setting or something.. but i have s2u2 enabled and works great, but when i take a call and end it the software won't run anymore even tho it's set too. I just get my htc home screen no s2u2??

I upgraded from 1.10 tot 1.13. Did an uninstall + soft reset and then installed the 1.13 version. Great app btw :)

But..... I have 2 all day events at the moment. In the 1.10 version it appeard on the s2u screen as:

Holiday
Son's Holiday

With version 1.13 it appeard as:

Holiday
0:00 - 0:00
Son's Holiday
0:00 - 0:00

So with both all day events it also shows the time like it's an appointment. Can you fix this or tell me how to edit this myself ? I don't want the time to ben shown for All Day Events, just voor normal appointments.

I am having a few issues with my animated Gifs for VGA...I placed a VGA sized gif image of a globe into the GFX folder after renaming it to wallpaper.gif.....my screen still shows up as black. I chcked the settings and changed the options to show the gif file....

PS...it would be awesome if someone would design a more fluid looking animated gif showing the battery filling up in "swirls" that gradually get brighter and more concentrated....instead of just revealing the battery from left to right. If only my PS skills were better!

it does seems that i CANNOT reject a call when using S2U2 :(, pressing the hangup button, just mute the call... even pressing the physical button.... i am stuck on the S2U2 answer page untill the other person hangs up...

if i disable the phone screen under S2U2 settings and softreset, i get the normal diamond answer page, but with another ugly popup that covers 1/2 the screen on top of the normal diamond answer page... :(

p.s after re enabling the phone S2U2 and disabling, now the default diamond answer page intermittently appear correctly

I had the same problem... just disable HTC Phone pad and use WM standard

The s2u2 still doesnt go over the top, but theres not really any need for it with the standard pad :D

To use videocall you have to enable HTC phone skin and disable caller id
but if you do so then S2U2 will not be able to work on incoming calls and will be overridden by the standard incoming call screen of the phone.

As I suppose to modify caller id to manage videocalls is not easy, the best would be to intercept the HTC incoming call screen (coming from cprog.exe I suppose) so that it can be seen and the keys can be used only after sliding.

To this purpose maybe a 'non-exception list' in the configuration can be introduced to intercept unwanted pop ups. Is it possible?

Also I notied today that S2U2 Autolock feature stoped working and needed to restart the application.

I installed the S2U2 to lock and unlock my diamond to prevent that calls are answered without me pressing the 'accept' button. But whenever I get an incoming call, the standard diamond software seems to overrule the S2U2 software :mad:. Therefore it is still possible that calls are accidently answered :mad::mad::mad:.

Does anyone have a working solution for this problem? Do I need to adjust something in the registery?

Hello,
I've been using S2U2 since version 1.13... and it works fine on the Diamond for me. Good job on this program!
However, it seems the program uses around 5% (or more) of the RAM memory, and during the day the battery seems to drain much faster with s2u2 on. When I turn it off, memory usage is immediately lower and the battery seems to last longer...

Couple of questions:
- The S2U2 settings & FAQ aren't written in very clear English. From what I read, I gather that English isn't A_C's maternal language so I can't really blame you (plus I couldn't have made what you have!) but isn't there someone who can "translate" or rephrase some of it, to make it clearer as to what everything means? I don't mean to insult you A_C, but I don't understand some of it.

- With regards to memory/battery usage: I guess using fewer options (ie. no screensaver, background, appointments etc) equals less usage. What is the optimal setting when I do want the slide2unlock and slide2answer, but minimize the memory usage?

I didn't tweak the registry, only changed the following.

SU2U settings, Phone settings section
Caller ID, set it to Full Screen or Thumbnail
Slide to Answer, On
S2A Answer key, off
S2A end key, off

This should override the normal touch screen answer key's and display a slide to answer bar similar to the slide to unlock bar.

i tested it 2 days without S2U2 1.18 and it sure maked a difference on battery lifetime..........but despite the battery usage, S2U2 is back on my phone because is does what its supposed to do very well. Maybe they can get the memory/battery usage under control in later versions.

S2U2 is really great but i have some problems, especially with this last version :
- S2U2 ofter bug and doesn't appear so i can't take the call.
- It seem there is a problem with rotation : when i use opera or rotate screen thanks to Gsen, application close, i have a unknow incoming call and then it back to Today screen.

I've uninstall it and all work fine without S2U2. But i love this soft :(. Is there another soft like this to answer a call (to prevent accept/reject call when get out the phone from my pocket) or a registry tweak to let the screen black for an incoming call ?

Same here, 1.18 is a major source of sucking the life out of my phone... can't even last a day. I disable it and the battery does what should be expected from it.

What I now do is this:
When I'm at work, college, or at home and I don't carry the diamond in my pocket, I disable S2U2 with the file explorer... you can do this by clicking ilock2.exe in the S2U2 folder (you get the popup with the "closing" message). Memory usage is immediately 3-5% lower, and the battery lasts longer.
When I go out and need to carry the phone in my pocket I enable S2U2 again (you don't see any popup, but it's executed when you click ilock2.exe).
File explorer remembers the folder you last viewed, so when i use the shortcut to explorer I immediately go to the S2U2 folder. I've now gotten used to it, but it still sucks.

Also, I've deleted the wallpaper.jpg in the s2u2/gfx folder, cause I can't disable the wallpaper in the settings (i think it also uses power, is that true?) I've disabled the tasks and agenda things, cause I only need to unlock to view them and anything unnecessary. I just use the slide2unlock (and the digital clock), nothing more.

I do hope A_C will resolve the battery problem to this otherwise excellent program!

edit: I haven't tried 1.2 yet... is it really better?

No! The battery drain problem is definitly not solved in this build! On my diamond (o2 stock rom 1.37) with version 1.18 and 1.20 enabled the battery life drains about 5% per hour! thats terrible :/ at the moment i prefer the built in lock feature ... it's a great pity, because imho s2u2 is really really one of the greatest apps for wm-phones.

On my diamond (o2 stock rom 1.37) with version 1.18 and 1.20 enabled the battery life drains about 5% per hour! thats terrible :/ at the moment i prefer the built in lock feature ... it's a great pity, because imho s2u2 is really really one of the greatest apps for wm-phones.

I have found battery drainage over night bears no relation to battery drainage during the day. Leaving it undisturbed overnight is not a good test.

with caller id and slide to answer it is not possible to reject the call, also with the hardware end key. If the hardware end key is not supported a ''slide to reject'' would be appreciated..

I too would like to see this option. Otherwise this is a fabulous app.

But what will we do? The are no alternatives. Auto Lock (CSDEVCTRL) although don´t work correctly with TD.

I installed 1.22 on diamond rom 1.93 and my problem is that when i have incoming call the caller ID is appear on the screen' but after 2 sec' the regular screen of the incoming call is appear above the s2u2 caller ID screen.
any ideas?

found a solution to get rid of the "home key"-bug:
(1a) install mortscript (http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&action=view&entry=4)
(1b) Turn on CallerId in s2u2 (you may like to use nicer buttons from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2692534&postcount=3))
(2) place this (mort)script in autorun (name it e.g. always_show_s2u2.mscr):

(4) make following mortscript and place it somewhere on your device

kill("s2u2.exe")

(5) Set it as unlockrunexe in the registry under
HKCU\Software\A_C\S2U2\
(6) Soft reset or run script in autorun

had the same issue but with older version (1.05). Installing VGA Version 1.22 on my Diamond Pro fixed this. Possibly you haven't a valid update? Try to uninstall S2U2 and re-install 1.22 VGA.

I have v1.22 loaded and am still experiencing a power drain. Is this because of s2u2 or is the problem just the phone? It also seems to get warm with use. I swapped out the phone before I saw this post but now I'm wondering if I should have just tried uninstalling s2u2 first.

Yes it's work fine like you said but my ring file is an Mp3 not a Wav.

Now i use S2U2 with sound when lock and unlock, it's really nice,.. Someone have good sounds for that ?
And use random wallpapers, i Love that soft :p

I tryed, but it dont work on my Phone...
S2U2 seems not to call the UnlockRunExe when its just set in the backround.
That is exactly, what happens, wenn the homebutton is pressed. S2U2 has not unlocked the Device
and therefore it is not starting the UnlockRunExe.

If u want that working u need to:

1. Call your script in autorun.
2. Call a script, when homebutton is pressed and look there if S2U2 is aktive and the aktive Window.
If aktive and running in the Backround -> Bring it in Front.
If not aktive -> just do what ever the homebutton should do.

I dont know if this is Possible. But thats the only way i see...

It's found there are several issues when running S2U2 on Diamond. An intermidiate fix is that:
1. Disable DirectDraw will prevent the occasional blank screen;

2. Enable NoBackLightCheck (it's only valid in v1.05 or later; create a DWORD value with name NoBackLightCheck and value 1 under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2; restart iLock2) will make IdleStart works again.

Known issues:
1. CallerID does not work.

2. Home key cannot be locked.

3. "S2U2 Settings" has error when it's scrolling about half the way.

UPDATE on 29 July:
A new version of S2U2 v1.10 is released at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412418.

For optimal usage with Diamond, make sure you grab the VGA version & turn on "Don't double check Backlight" at the S2U2 Settings.

This software is indeed the best. Thank you again. But it slows my diamond a bit and when there is a call this short locking and slowing becomes annoying. Can there be an ultra lite version of this?

Anyone has the problem where if you only have 1 up-coming appointment, S2U2 displays that TWICE? (ie, duplicate).

It's only in S2U2 as in other calendars and programs the appointment is correctly showing up as only one event.

I placed a VGA sized gif image of a globe into the GFX folder after renaming it to wallpaper.gif.....my screen still shows up as black. I chcked the settings and changed the options to show the gif file....

eskasi currently the wallpaper will not show if the battery icon is enabled, I guess because it's not transparent. Wondering if someone could make a transparent battery icon so the wallpaper shows through or something.
