Contacts doesn't show on emails

I had this problem before, but can't remember what I did to fix it. when writing new email or FWD, when typing the first letter, a suggestion drop-down list with all emails shows up... I don't have this list anymore. How can I fix this problem? Now I have to go to contacts and click on their emails to write emails.
