I have been using MSVC 19209 with 2.3. MSVC didn't work when it was wasn't one of the first few .cabs I installed. I installed quite a few apps to storage so Igo would have more memory to play with. ROMeOS has been great.

I have MSVC 19209 working fine with all of these ROMs (v2.2, v2.3 and v2.4). Did you install it to storage? I don't think it works unless it is in main memory

ps. I don't think installing programs to storage card will improve iGo performance very much. iGo requires lots of program memory to run whereas installing software to device uses up storage memory.

I've been having this bug many months but still could not find any solution so i figured i'll just post it here to see if there is any updates on it. Not sure if it's due to HTC Home or the bluetooth or the OS itself. FYI :)

I believe this is not a ROM issue!

I was able to duplicate the problem in the original post.... It has to do with a "Task Manager" program that you had installed. Any task manager that rests its icon in the lower tray of the device or that is assigned a long button press function will sometimes trigger the silent function, especially if you have increased the screen sensitivity.

Not too familiar with SBSH pocketbreeze and pocketweather! however I read somewhere that pocketweather consumes 15% of your ROM. Now thats excessive if true.

MSVC sometimes will not function if the PTT remapping was not done accurately, or if the PTT service was still residing or camouflaged under different registry string. It needs to be deleted completely so the MSVC is mapped accurately and then it will function without glitches.

think about it.... If you installed a program that requires net access to update, or was created with authentication request protocol, it will indeed use up power and speed resources, and that means low battery life and slowness.

I advise all to install only those programs that they would indeed use. Avoid installing anything that you do so just to brag you have it.

all roms are great in different aspects and perspectives. There is no need to compare great roms at the moment. Sometime the speed depends on not only the rom, but also the way you configure your device. v3 is probably as chef indicated in the title "ROMeOS v3 IS ONTHEWAY | NO JOKE | BEAUTY | SKYPE | IMAGINET | DONATE :) "

Yah i notice the same in the link i gave. Seems like this is a bug that nobody seems to do much about. I could use another profile manager but i still like the HTC Home better :) Guess i'll just have to live with :(

I have just flashed this ROM and installed HTC TaskManager 2_1_33556_1.cab and I get normal X button functionality as I would expect from HTC task manager.

Hi mate. If u need a stable Rom, then check ur device. If it is KAIS1XX, then use Kaiser rom for sure. Kaiser wont be as speedy as u expect. HTC is introducing more device with higher specs. Just enjoy ur kaiser as is. Thanks & regards.

Was using v2.4RC1 before flashing v3. I don't mean to complain here, just to qualify.

With the earlier versions and up to v2.4RC1, I didn't face problem of SIP until this v3. I'm using PCMKeyboard v0.24.

After fresh install, I would normally install PCMKeyboard, IM Default, set SIP to PCMKeyboard using IM Default, SR. For this version and earlier version, after SR, SIP is PCMKeyboard. For earlier version, after installing the many caps I have with Sashimi v6, SR, PCMKeyboard still sticks. For v3, it defaults to built in keyboard.

I did HR and flash again. Repeated the procedure, SIP problem came back after all other caps installed.

I haven't troubleshoot by uninstalling cab by cab to see when the problem will disappear. I had this problem with Leo's Diamond ROM, and normally I can't install all the cabs I want.

Will update if I get to do the troubleshooting.

testing this ROM right now and liking it a lot. Sorry, make this A LOT.
It's nice (as in PRETTY), lightweight, and unpretentious. Also seems very stable and responsive, something the 'cutting edge' ROMs sometimes have trouble with.
Will continue loading my usual software selection and see if it remains as sprightly as it started off :)

My dear friend, HTC Home is in Extended cabs. To make it auto install after Hard Reset, pls edit SDConfig.txt & remove colon mark.
PIM Backup is floating around here. Pls do a search.

Yesterday I've been busy with flashing my girlfriends PPC (IPAQ hx2190) and smartphone (HTC S310) from WM5.0 to WM6.1 At first my girlfriend was confused about it (there were some errors), but after all she is likes it.
Strange thing is that the IPAQ cannot be in standby and play music. With my TyTN, I can push the powerbutton and the music (Autdo Manager) still play.
I thought it was a WM5 issue...

Tonight, my device gets a new ROM again. :D
It still runs on v2.4 and I've tried the Folder patch (I like it, other program icons but with normal folders icons!) and also the Battery Test. I don't understand this program... :confused:

Yesterday I've been busy with flashing my girlfriends PPC (IPAQ hx2190) and smartphone (HTC S310) from WM5.0 to WM6.1 At first my girlfriend was confused about it (there were some errors), but after all she is likes it.
Strange thing is that the IPAQ cannot be in standby and play music. With my TyTN I can push the powerbutton and the music (Autdo Manager) still play.
I thought it was a WM5 issue...

Tonight, my device gets a new ROM again. :D
It still runs on v2.4 and I've tried the Folder patch (I like it, other program icons but with normal folders icons!) and also the Battery Test. I don't understand this program... :confused:

I'm going to flash!

It's included in the the extended cab download. If you are new, read the stickies at first! You have to do two steps at first when you flash your PPC with custom ROM's or you'll brick your device!
Step 1: JumpSPL
Step 2: HardSPL
Step 3: Flash the ROM you like

In this case please check your iGO version. Only latest build (41506) is compatible with HTC Home.

I see a few folks having KB issues. Not sure that I have a fix but here are some things to try:


- Install KB before anything else: WM is a bit touchy sometimes when making changes / adjustments...sometimes something as small as the order you install programs can lead to them not working well in some cases.

-Always install sips to the device...never to a storage card.

-It's good to soft reset after any install (even if the device does not prompt you). Often programs installs will not require soft reset. Even though, I've seen programs run but buggy until the reset was done. After reset, much better (as expected). Keep in mind, you can install several programs before the reset. But if you plan to use the programs before you did the reset, you may see odd results in some cases. If that is the issue, those problems should clear once the reset is done.

-Disable all today plug-ins until you get your KB installed and working as your default.

-If you are using spb products, uninstall, reset, re-install KB and test if it works. If KB now works...you can try to re-install spb. Maybe best to test the KB after each spb install. While many think SPB's feature rich products are nice, they are often a blessing and a curse. Being so feature rich, they often cause other changes to your system that you didn't plan for or cause undesired results. Unfortunately, if you find that the KB works without spb products installed but does not once you install them...you have to choose which is more important to you. Unfortunately, in a lot of cases there are people finding side effects from spb products. Often times they effect the KB. Personally, on many occasions that I have had SPB prods running fine with 3rd party sips without issue but I do hear a lot of people finding that SPB is what is causing the sip not to work (I strive hard at running a clean device...maybe that's why i've had them working well together). It's possible that there is a third common denominator that I haven't tried but for whatever reason, they might not all play nice together in the same device.


That's all i can think of for now (although I know there is more common causes that I'm forgetting). While I can't gaurantee that any of these things will solve your issue....they can't hurt to try and others have often had positive results. Personally, I've never faced the SIP issues that many others have had so I have no way to test but like I said...they are just suggestions that have no ill side effects...therefore, no harm to see if they work for you.

:: mine doesnt have any issue. SMS threaded, MMS send & receive OK. Maybe something to do with ur setting depends on ur carrier. But I will still provide MMS replacement :)

You need to download a contact manager program. I think the one you're referencing is the "HTC Random Access". Here's the link:

i'm sorry to ask this noob question. i still donno the real purpose of random access. for me, if i hold down key in contacts, big alphabet will popup. if i click down, it will in alphabetical order. if i click right, it will randomly change the alphabet. is it same function as htc random access of has different features?

The keyboard skin is created by Garmin. i will check it. For gps, i think it has connection with radio version.

This problem persists with many ROM versions. You can use SIP changer to choose your preferable SIP. It works at startup and set the SIP before the loading of the other stuff that creates this problem.

I don't really consider this one as a bug as it happens with some official ROMs. It is related to the ROM and the applications you install together

Regarding your beautiful ROM, at 1st I had problems cause it is slow. There was a lag of around 1 -2 seconds before anything open. Soft Reset did the job, now its working fine. But kindly check your calculator - does it really load slowly?

This is not a bug..this is WM by design. If you don't like this, you have to install a different task manager or do some other tweaks to get it to work how you describe.

RIGHT, two problems, both resolved. Just the way you asked, Hang :)

P1) UTA 3.5 - worked without a hitch on 4 previous ROMs (oot box, Schaps' 4.31, Leo's V5, Leo's V9). On your ROM it started thinking that Kaiser was VGA (!). All icons, all text were scaled up by a factor of 4. Unconfigurable like hell.
S1) Visited the PocketPC-Live forum, turned out others had this problem before. Carty made a special qVGA version and even a forced-qVGA version, but the former worked just fine. Sorted!

P2) SIP problem... nothing new you might say but with a different KB, this time it was VGAKey. Not very well known I guess but my favourite as it has all the special characters you might ask for - PL, CZ, NO, DE... Except that it would not load. Again, on other ROMs worked OK.
S2) SIPChange 1.1, restart, sorted.

This is a known issue for the 6.1 ROMs. This no fix. The workaround is to disable cleartype in landscape or disable cleartype totally.

I'm sorry mate. Got connection prob here. Thought u have discover the solution. No issue with large start menu so jump to 2nd issue.

If there is duplication of task mgr control panel, just delete task manager link in start menu, delete Long_End.lnk in windows dir, & find for this key in registry

HKLM/Control Panel/TaskMgr

Clear the value of 'Redirect' string.

For other who need new MMS system, i've just finished dealing with the complete replacement cab & will upload it tomorrow. very tired. tomorrow sleep @ office again :(

So then I tried selecting the image from the album and sending it via MMS, but no luck. It gives me a "This image format is not supported" error. Anyone else having this?

I guess I'll be holding-off until these issues are resolved before patching up with the new MMS .cab, I've been using my old smt5600 upgraded to wm6.1 for the last few days, waiting for these issues to be resolved. :D I know it'll be at any moment.. thanks for those working on them, I wish I was more tech saavy.

But I figured there must have been something wrong with this build, so I got the Diamond extracted version: 5.0.27.25 (QVGA), and now everything works great!

:( mr Hang i found a bug in this rom, at first i open any document in format of .doc and .txt ok the first time you open it it is ok., but try to open it 2x or more the document does not opening anymore ., you must reboot to open again the file.

you can open only the file for once only.

Weird. I just tried to open txt & doc file, close the ms word completely, & open again without issue for more than 10 times. please try to troubleshoot first rather than post something that could make many people confuse.

What about the folder icon: no, I don't understand where I have to begin.
I want a normal WM6.1 folder in white with a red cross or an other medical sign on it. At first, how do I have to make an icon (with Paint?) and then how do I get it into the PPC? Thanks for asking. ;)

Hello Hang,

I've flashed my device to V3 and now I notice a problem with voice dailing.
I was driving in my car when I noticed the problem.
I still use RadioRom 1.58.25.17 and the Voice Speed Dial is the same I used earlier.

Try this I just knocked together very quickly - simple red cross on a white folder (see medical.bmp for preview)

Download 'medical icon.zip'

Put 'medical.ico' in \windows
Put 'icon' in \windows\start menu\programs\medical (or whatever folder u like)

Have also included 'folder.ico' to edit your own

When i tried to install the HTC album, it screwed up the Multimedia folder icon in the programs. Can someone prove a copy of the icon? Also, can someone let me know how do i assign it to the folder? Thanks.

I have a question(s);

I currently have OliPof's kaiser-HardSPLv1 on my device. It's the first and only SPL that I've ever used and I've never had any issues but, after reading through a bit I decided to try out ROMeOS v3. Per the advice I tried to reflash my SPL to JockeyW's on both my Vista and XP machines and it just wont take.

My questions are...

1. Am I missing something?
2. Will I be fine running this ROM with HardSPLv1?

I can connect to the internet fine through IE and opera. I just cant get it to connect retrieve my email. I have triple checked the settings and still cant get it. I can usually set this up in like three minutes. This is one of the best roms Ive used. I would hate to give it up over my email, but I have to have it for work.

Thanks for the confirmation that it is working. I got home from work. Synced my phone and now it is working. I have no clue how that could affect things but It is now working. Thanks for all who responded. Thats great too since Im really happy with this rom.

Sound level drops to zero (common bug not solved)
Very slow in files read/write

I have been testing this ROM for more than a day now with Radio 20.29, Battery life is amazing (better than 19199 build)
Believe if these bugs are fixed and new 3D drivers are added, it will be the best cooked ROM.

One last thing, how you make your ROM compatible with Imaginet arabizer?

Thank you my friend.
1-Will check the 3G video call problem.
2-I dont think there is a need for beam as our device have no IR reception. It is only functional for enable receive file via btooth. But I will add the beam image in next release.
3-If u use any profile manager, it wont bother u.
