Hey folks, dropped the gf off at the airport and she realised she'd forgotten her phone, consequently she'd got no music to listen to so muggins handed over the ipod.

Now I'm left with my faithful touch dual and a headphone adapter I got from eBay (as per one of the posters in this forum)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=85032&d=1210356569

...and my Etymotic ER6i headphones which have to date provided me with stunning audio quality.

Only problem -- hiss, and a lot of it! Now I know that my headphones are very sensitive, if there's a less than perfect audio connection involved hiss does occur.

As such, I'm wondering if anyone else out there has similar experience, or indeed no issues at all and could recommend a better headphone adapter (pref with mic).

Thanks in advance!

*****SOLVED*****
Returned that first adapter for refund (the microphone didn't even work when I tried it!) and ordered a different sort, as seen below:

Completely different story, sliding the volume control on the adapter right down and upping the device volume allows for clear sound and zero hiss. I'm a happy chappy :D

The microphone even works...bonus! :D

nb. for anyone who's interested:

A long press on the button initiates voice dial and hangs up.
Double tapping it calls the last number dialed.
A single tap will put the other person on hold during a call.

Only thing..... anyone know how I can boost the microphone sensitivity just a bit so I can have it a bit further (it's ok btw, don't let me put anyone off, I just want an extra bonus bit of sensitivity ;))

I hade a similar issue with bluetooth headsets.. the solution seems to be if you're headset etc has volume control, put it low, and increase the nike's volume.
