I tried to upgrade my SPV M2000 fromWM2003 to WM6 and that happened. I'm using Vista, just telling you because some of the guides I looked at for fixing that were specifically for Vista but they didn't work. Anyone any ideas? I don't mind having to stick to WM2003. Please someone HELP!!!

Yea, tried that, no luck. I'm not sure how to update the driver.

Do not put your XDA into the cradle yet....

1. Download USBAS file and extract to Desktop
2. Right click on My Computer.
3. Select Device Manager.
4. There should be one with Windows Mobile or something like that.
5. Update driver and slect USBAS file you extracted.
6. when completed insert device.

There you go

It isn't listed in Device Manager unless it is in the cradle.

Don't suppose you want to help me find a WM6.1 ROM and help me install it, or point me to some instructions. Any that
I have found have had lots of download lonks and loads of other stuff I'm not sure about, the one that's on atm was just a siple double click and next job.

Here is the guide

Temporary Remove your SD Card (it may work for you with the SD card still in your BA, but better to be sure)
Put your device into Bootloader mode by pressing and hold the "Power" & "Record" buttons, and then press the Reset Button
Connect the phone to the sync cable/cradle.
Now you can upgrade the ROM using BaUpgradeUt.exe / MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
When the upgrade is completed, you must perform a Hard Reset

Press and hold the "Power" button, and then press the Reset Button. Colored stripes (the bootscreen) will appear on the screen.

If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc, EITHER:

Quickly press "Record" & "Camera" before the versions appear at bottom right
OR press "Power" & "Camera" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66:

Quickly press "Record" & "Windows Media" before the versions appear at bottom right EITHER
OR press "Power" & "Windows Media" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time
You'll see three options on screen. You must change the second and the third to yes. If you are not developing/testing software you can disable the first debug option for better performance.

If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc, use "Camera" and the "Record" buttons.
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66, use "Windows Media" and the "Record" buttons.
Note: The "Record" button moves up and down the menu and the "Camera" button toggles Yes/No. When you're done, press the button in the middle of the D-Pad to continue booting.
Press the "Mail" button. A white screen will show for 30 seconds, while it is clearing your device in preparation for the new ROM to start executing
When the bootscreen, aka. the colored stripes is displayed, wait more, you are booting. The welcome screen to set up your device will appear shortly ...
(if removed earlier) Put back your SD Card before you do the setup. This way the installation from the SD will continue after you have done the setup
Your upgraded ROM is now running!
During the first boot the CAB-files from "EXTROM" folder will be installed
