Hello all,
since yesterday plugging in my headphones which were shipped with the device doesn't work anymore. Usually i see the headphone icon on the titlebar but now i dont. Also applications requiring headphones (e.g. FM-Radio) tell me to plug them in although they are already plugged. Soft-Reset didn't work neither. Anybody else having this issue or even solved it?
Regards,
Chris

Hi again!
i've done it!
How? Go to Config/Erase (or delete) memory. This will reset your machine to default values and you will lose everything so sync your contacts and backup all your stuff before. Then, upon second restart plug in your headphones and that's all! Headphones are detected again!
Hope this helps!
Regards,
David.

When I plug my headphones in, they work, but I always hear a hiss in the background and I need to put the volume down to ~6%. Otherwise I would become deaf. Does any one have an idea how to fix this?

Guys, first post here xda forum with good news!
I've been searching for more than 6 months trying to found some solutions for this problem without erasing the flash memory, because I had so many applications and data that I didnt wanted to re-install them.
I did not found anywhere.
Using PHM Registry Editor, I was able to change the value for HKLM/System/State/Hardware/Headset from 0 to 1 once or twice and then I did a soft reset with the headset plugged in.
BINGO! It was recognized once again! And right now it is recognized every time a plug it in.
Well, it worked for me without erasing the memory. I hope this helps all Diamond owners with the same problem.
