Official HTC Diamond case - what what the hell is going on?

First of all HTC backtrack as they are now too stingy to include the pouch for the diamond with the phone itself.
Then nowhere, and I mean NOWHERE has any of the damn cases in stock. I placed an order with Expansys and now it says 25 days estimated wait for delivery. No other mobile vendor has any in stock and are only taking preorders with no ETA.

Just what the hell is going on? Who is going to put a touch diamond in their pocket with no protection? Why were HTC not prepared for this?

Anyone know of any place that has one in stock? Im based in the UK. I dont want the one with a belt clip.

The are indeed very nice (beyza case). It is lined with a velvet type material which helps clean the screen. I have no idea if cleans better than the OEM case, but its better than nothing.

Also...it is a pretty tight fit, so I don't know if a extended battery would fit. If anyone has any questions they want to ask me about the case, shoot me a PM.

Go and check them out: I got mine within 2 days. But I live in Switzerland. They use very fine leather and inside it has a material that cleans it.

I ordered a pdair case as it looks gorgeous and there's not too much of a 'lip' near the control panel. It's also got a removable belt clip. The free pouch is pretty useless anyway unless you want to have to keep pulling out and putting back your phone every time you want to use it. I went for a flippy cover as they're more practical (hence not 'free').

The only truly decent 'free' case I've ever seen with an HTC device is the one with the Advantage.

You cannot find any diamond cases in the UK because HTC decided to screw over offline buyers and give all the cases away to Orange customers. :mad:

The HTC case doesn't have that. In addition you can you can insert the device in the case only from one side. The other one is blocked by a something like a cloth rubber stripe (not the best explanation).

Even though I had some concerns regarding how steady the device would be in it, the case actually holds it really firmly.

The original HTC does indeed. but BEWARE, there are already copy-cat look a lie ones on the market at better pricing, though the Diamond easely slides out! Test before you buy if possible.

I've given it some thought and have the perfect solution for you.....

Send your Diamond back to where you got it - Demand (DEMAND) a full refund because you have obviously been let down so severly because you do not have a case included and will not settle for anything except the very cheap and simple HTC original case - order yourself a very old Nokia 6300 - this comes with a case included for free - you wont have to worry at all about damaging it as they are so cheep to replace..... such a wasted effort responding to you I know but its made me feel better..... :p :o (Hugs and Kisses) :o:p

I called expansys over here in Australia.
They said they have around 350 orders for the case, with a small shipment coming in next couple of weeks. Then another 4 weeks before the big 1000 shipment comes in? Can't remember the exact numbers but it was around 2 month wait.

Because the other case are too big to me. Because the diamond is one of the smallest beautiful phones in the market nowadays. All the clips and flip case are not my taste so I will keep it to the original PO S390.

I ordered from HTC (Expansys :mad:) this one at 26th of june and at the 17th of july I still had to wait for 25 days. Rediculous!! I called Expansys and the guy reacted as if he was retarded :confused: . Not realy smart or friendly to customers.

I canceled the order and put an order at the site http://www.digitalsonline.nl/ 2 hours later I got a mail that the case is send out and should be delivered within 2 working days. :)
They also send to Germany and Belgium.

One side of the strap is flush on the inside surface depending which way you slide the phone in. You need to slide the front of the phone against the flush side to stop it scratching.

Mine came with a case, but I also have a genuine ipod case with a belt clip on which I find handy, it cost £1 in the local poundland. My diamond is safe and sound in it. However I work in a horrible dusty noisy workshop and I need a dustproof / waterproof case. I miss most of my calls due to the noise anyway, so can anyone recommend a case like that? Preferably with a neck strap. I have had phones suffer death from dust in the past. Thanks.

I got my official case from amazon a week ago and I'm really happy with it.

In line with another poster you can reduce the risk of any light scratches by pushing the holding strap down so it's smooth at one end. For me this means inserting the phone with the case logo up and starting at the 'h' end, going USB first.

It's light, black, works well, looks good and was cheap.

i know at first with all new phone/laptops/ipods etc. we all are afraid to handle them, put them in our pockets or let other people touch them.
ater 2-3 weeks i nolonger care much and will put my diamond in my pocket without a case as long a nothing else is in the same pocket (coins, keys, other devices, rocks, sand, sand paper, etc).

My advice is:
1. use a screen proctor. as the screen is the main part, and also likly to get damaged.
2. the side of the diamond is not likly to get marked in your pocket.
3. the back (who cares about the back) if its marked/ damaged - get a new one from ebay for under £10.

I currently have a Golla case for my diamond which was purchased in UK from Tesco - approx £5. Also seen them for sale in larger PC World stores (including the Parrot design) - a little more expensive but much wider range. PC world store i saw the wide range in was Tottenham Ct Rd in London, but sure local stores will stock em

It contains a nylon strap within to stop phone to slide from the other side but this nylon strap rubs itself to the phone screen when you slide in your phone in the case and I have seen slight permanent marks of this on my screen after using it for 2 months or something...

Bought the Original Diamond cover [black slide-in cover] for SGD$38. Its a rip-off.. It scratched my 2 day old diamond back.. And worse, I cant slip on my crystal casing when its in the pouch. Shame on HTC. God bless XDA Developers for livening up an otherwise dead phone.

My friend has a case similar to the first brando link on his touch HD, and it seems to be quiet good. Pretty pricey though.

i personally feel i need a case that covers up both the front with the screen, and the back where the main camera is.

my old phone which was an erricson didnt have a case. it was just chucked in my pocket. after about 2 years there were so many scratches on the screen from keys and change in my pocket and from dropping it a few times that some times i couldnt even see the screen.

silicone cases are nice, i have one for my work blackberry, but ive had it for a few months and ive started to notice small scratches already. plus the silicone tends to make the phone grip to my pocket. so when im pulling it out, the rest of the pocket comes with it.

i had a crystal plastic case for my old samsung slide phone. at first i loved it. but after a few months you get dirt and fluff underneath the case then the phone starts to look really dirty.

i personally think that the leather cases that completely cover the phone or the original htc case that comes with the phone are superior to the others.

if i was still in school then a silicone case or crystal case might have been better. back then i didnt carry too much things around and i took more care of my stuff. now days, im always rushing around with other things on my mind than to make sure i dont scratch a screen.:eek:
