Looks like RuffRuff has dumped the HTC Raphael ROM

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406943

Is it possible to create a new rom for the Kaiser from it?

In the post he say's that device felt very fast compared to the Diamond.

Maybe we could benefit from it also.

Perhaps the HTC stuff from this rom, and the OS from the Xperia 20226 - although both of these are Beta roms, stability may be an issue.

Dl'ing both to have a look...

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Reading the post it seems that it will benefit Diamond owners more than Kaiser owners, plus there's nothing there that can help with porting Manilla over.

But I've been wrong before, although it was only 1 time.

The UI interface won't work on Kaiser, we know this already. Looking for some new Builds though and maybe better drivers....how about some new apps. This is what I would like to see :)

Hope this isn't too n00b of a question, but what about the OS version? If the UI won't work, that 's fine; but perhaps the OS is a bit more optimized and will work well for the kaiser..? what about the Radio? can it be used? Is it any better than what we have now?

Thanks in advance for any new information and answers to my questions!

Nope radio's won't work. GSLEON bravely tried to flash a Diamond Radio and it bricked his device. I would recommend that you wouldn't do this.

The OS version is what I am talking about.

Did the dump and alot of nice programs built into the SYS folder....problem is like the Diamond is that it is made for a VGA screen so in order to use a majority of the programs they need to be scaled down or reconfigured...

Doing a ROM right now with an XIP Port and moderated SYS port will let you know how it goes!!!

what kitchen are you guys using, I got the sys folder with all of the stuff in it, but I can't port over the XIP for some reason. Keep getting errors. As a matter of fact, zipped up my SYS folder is 99MB. I cant even get it to build the OS. AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH

IMGFS tools probably wont work since the sectors will be located in different places than lets sat the kaiser, Hermes, or other devices we have used and cooked for in the past. I will contact TAZ about updating his IMGFS tools for the new devices that are coming out but I don't have a diamond or Raphael so we are going to need someone that has the device for testing.

Hmm well, I spent a whole 30 seconds ripping it out, fixing it, and installing it. Build 1248. 1409 is already on here, so... :)

You were always talented with the .cab's. Guess I need to sit down with you and learn from the master :)

P1Tater was able to figure something out.

Hopefully he will be on later tonight and post how he did it.

you didnt try to use part00 did you? part01 is proper xip and ported fine for me like every other build. i will upload untouched xip and sys dump if it makes it easier for anyone.
edit: on 2nd thought, i didnt even have to m'reloc to drop into my existing xip. ill try one.
edit2: mreloc works fine here

yeah, its working for me now. (xip)
I mixed up with another build I had

what os.nb do you use in rom folder?
I have tried several, and nb split gives me error

but in my polaris kitchen it works fine.

Using the diamond kitchen is the way to go. Worked for me once I did that. Also, everything in it looks to be nothing more than a glorified Diamond rom with the same apps as the original Diamond apps. Except for the fact they are different in size, VGA size is different. It has google maps and opera but they all appear to be old builds. FM radio would be nice but as everyone knows, thats not possible with our hardware.

@ Chainfire
I humbly bow down to the master. I'd love to sit down on IRC and discuss your techniques. Every time we talk I always learn something new.

i am using the same rom folder as prior to port, but i inserted xip_out.bin to 0x00320000 of os.nb.payload. the address may be different for your device but im sure you already know that. ive had nbsplit/nbmerge puke after an insert but only when i typo'd the address.

i did find that when my device's wm6.1 rom was released, with a new xip came new slot values (.rom and .vm in sys changed)
i seem to have to match them - i cant use old slot values and/or old .rom and .vm with new xip or vice versa. maybe off topic now, but its the only issue i saw that i can think of. feel free to pm me, but i doubt i know much you dont know already :D

I did play a around with it and I managed to port the XIP and SYS (although I had to take ressource files from a QVGA rom) and just match it with the OEM folder of the newest Kaiser ROM. It seems to be working fine, but as this is one of my first attempts of cooking it's actually just feels like a standard HTC ROM (bloated...) with a new OS. So it's nothing special.

I can upload it if anyone wants to try it out just for fun.
