Hi Willy,

I suppose you got the links from the forum and they probably used linkbucks over there "and you just used copy and paste".

For some reason the PDAViet forum is not accesible anymore for guests and you have to sign up to access the forum "and therefore the links".

I used to access their forum even though all I was doing is going through the links and find "elfin" and download the rom "since I don't understand the language"

now it is impossible to do so so thanks again for sharing and I wonder why they want people to sign in to download from a rapidshare link "since they don't have an english part"

Just flashed to V44 (with 18MB PP), so far so good.

1 thing I noticed, the bottom bar covers a name when in (Contacts) application if you keep pressing 'down'
Not sure if it's because of 18MB PP, or the new ROM. It does seem to be faster than V41 PDAViet.

The only big issue is that PCM Keyboard's space bar does not work, which is still unresolved from previous versions of PDAViet. I installed Resco Keyboard Pro as an alternative.

Try this iPhone Dialer application + skin, which someone posted somewhere on these forums. I'll attach it here. It redials if you press the Send button again.

EDIT: I've packaged them up so everything is together, as well as a little readme.txt with instructions.

yes i use battery status, overclocked to 234 only (original 201).. hmm i will try to remove batterystatus now and see how the a2dp works

Using TT7 with Canada_USA map myself, haven't encountered this problem.

There are like 3, 4 places to check for battery setting/backlight. Make sure you check them all:
1) Start; Settings; System; Backlight; Battery power
2) Start; Settings; System; Backlight; External power
3) Start; Settings; System; Power; Advanced

Please somebody report pagepool on elf or available RAM on a elf with v44 or 45.
Still using v31b and is quite good. That version was only for elf. v44 for elf/elfin so am afraid pagepool is higher and less ram is free.

There's a default page pool (8 MB for Elf) but you can change it with a hex editor before flashing to a size you need. I changed imine to 4 MB.

There is no need to know what is the page pool of a ROM before flashing especially for W6.1. You can use the pagepool changer and change it yourself either 4MB, 6MB or 8MB whichever suit you.

Which Radio ROM are you using? I upgraded to 3.21.90 last night and am having issues with my phone even finding the network. Might have to go back to 3.07.90...

EDIT: Hmm.. can't even Activesync with v45. I'm going back to v44. :(

Guys, these are my findings about v45 compared to v44:

v45:

- It has problems finding your phone on the network. This is not the problem of the Radio ROM, because I went back to v44 and the network is fine.
- It is slower when creating new Word Mobile documents, but loading Word Mobile documents is way faster now
- CANNOT ActiveSync, I get an error saying it cannot synchronize. Tried over and over - and it's not a cable issue. Works fine after going back to v44 ROM.

So I would strongly recommend staying at v44. If you have an Elfin, change the v44 ROM's Page Pool to 0 MB ("00 16") using a Hex Editor, for higher speed.

I change it through Touch Setting, through registry and now when i click on this shortcut, cube runnig both apps, default app and my app, what i set in registry. I dont know what i can do more. How it is possible, that i change it in registry and cube still remember default app. I don't want for Photos and Video pimgres.exe, but for Photo htcalbum and for Video wmplayer.

When my touch switching off display, short before twice blink display. Like the TomTom try prevent turning off and after first try of switching off, try again turn on display, but fail and display is switching off.

Do you have it same?

Do you have just the IPL by itself? (since I have v44 modified for PP and SPL already on my system.)

You can download the shipped ROM that starts with "2.26" in the sticky thread for the ROMs. It has the 2.26.0002 IPL in it when you use nbhextract.exe. Or you can just extract the second ROM I posted above which already has the IPL. Use nbhextract.exe on it, of course.

Anyways I will attach it here. I extracted the IPL .NB from the shipped ROM and then built it in htcrt.exe.

Use nbhextract on this .nbh file so that you will get the .nb file for this 2.26 IPL. (I posted an IPL-only ROM which can be installed using the same method as a regular custom ROM.)

Open up htcrt.exe, load up this .nb file in the "IPL" section, as well as the OS.nb file for your custom ROM. Add the .nb for your SPL and/or Radio too if you want. Build it to get your Super ROM.

Yes the newer SPLs are a bit faster, you have to read the thread about benchmarking (go to the "sticky rollup" post and search or 'benchmark')... Also I found when using my own device that it was more responsive with 0MB page pool compared to 18MB (which is actually better than 24MB or the default 12MB in general). Do a search and you'll find useful info.

Yes, that's because most of the cooked/custom ROMs only have the OS file, so it won't overwrite your SPL or IPL or anythign else (it's safer too).

Should be ok, but first Flash the *patched* SPL 2.26 (which is also called USPL) by itself, so that if anything goes wrong on reboot after you flash, it can still be recovered!!

ExtROM is not required, it is just an extra thing that is found in shipped/official ROMs.

I just bought a Jawbone2, I can receive/answer call without problem.

But when I press the button on BT-headset to initiate a call, I see PDA change to phone dialing screen, but nothing happen when I say 'call bob at home' for example.

Hi Guys,

I'm using this ROM v4.4 as well for about 3 days now. One bug I found out is that whenever I set a sound notification for SMS/MMS or voicemail etc, it just get disabled after some time by itself. I tried to do it and soft reset, and it keeps them, and I tought it was sorted but after some time it just disables itself again.

Not sure where I went wrong or if its just a bug with the ROM.

Any help would be appreciated.

Been using this ROM for almost 2 weeks now.. I've been trying other ROMs but keep coming back to this one. Its speed is amazing.

The only issues so far that are bothering me:

1) Can't use PCM Keyboard because space bar doesn't work. I've replaced it with Resco Keyboard (not free!) but I do prefer PCM Keyboard.

2) In the HTC Home application launcher part, several applications will not launch if I put the shortcut in the top right square.

3) When I was on a call yesterday the screen turned off after a minute but I was still on the call. Not sure if this is an issue or a feature of WM6.1 ;-)

Think I found my problem.

With Cyberon Speed dial (which is part of PDAViet), you have to use voice-tag, whereas Cyberon Voice Commander will recognize the names from your contact and able to run other applications.

Too bad the Voice Commander is not part of the PDAViet Rom, but I found a version anyway and it seems to be quite nice.

I had problem using (initiate call) from BT headset and execute a command with MS Voice Command 1.6.

Version 46 has sort of fixed that small issue where the name on the last line of the Contacts app is half-showing. Now you are able to see almost the full name.

However, PCM Keyboard's spacebar is still not working. I am using Resco Keyboard with the Diamond skin but I prefer PCM.. oh well.

Also, with the Page Pool hack of 0MB in v44, I was able to start a new Word Document really quickly, but now in v46 (with 0MB Page Pool) it is back to the slow speed of starting a new Word document.

These Viet ROMs are still the fastest ROMs for my use.

I'm using V44 for quite some time but I'm not sure If I screwed up something or if it was like this all the time because I was using Wisbar Advance from the beginning. I'm running SonBlack right now with all of my programs running, and so far so good. Seems to be very similar to v46 except with a few more apps (e.g. Total Commander, Advanced Config and WM5torage).

Still can't use space bar in PCM Keyboard.

It starts the Network Wizard upon every reset - which is annoying - unless you go under Settings/Connections and disable the Auto Detect Network option.

v46 pp4mb installed on Elf and booted fine. Not as crisp as v42 pp4mb or v44 pp4mb on Elf. Though, boots faster. I cannot tell the difference between v42 pp4mb or v44 pp4mb. I will stick with v44 pp4mb, but may compare again with v42 pp4mb, which may be a tiny tiny bit faster. All have the typical PDAViet issues, which are pressing the green send key twice does not make a call and the Connection Wizard does not work for UK o2. However, these roms have always worked best for my Elf. Use at your own risk!
