Please Help STUCK ON VERIZON SCREEN CANT GET TO BOOTLOADER

Hey everyone I need some help.

I was following the steps to flashing for the first time and I may have screwed up.

I first used the unlocker and installed bootloader 2.40

then tried to InstallDCD 3.2.2

then couldnt do radio

I am now stock on the Verizon screen and I cant even get to bootloader.. Please help...USB not showing up and updater utility gives error 260

I think I know what to do if I can get to the bootloader but I have been holding down the camera and reseting and I am getting nothing. I tried taking the battery out and a hard reset and still nothing

That's because you have to hold both the power button and camera button while soft resetting.

hey gc 14 I tried doing that also after seeing it somewhere else and still had no luck.....any other way to get to the bootloader?

you gotta kinda hold in that soft-reset button for about 2 seconds while holding camera+power, then release them all at once...

see if u can get in that way...

still no luck...I have done it before but now i cant get to the bootloader. It is crazy....is there any other way of accessing it?

your supposed to install the radio before you update your ROM. thats probably your issue.

yeah i figured that but now i cant get to the bootloader.....i do not want to have to go to verizon and beg for a new phone lol

NO! you'll lose warranty... have you tried taking the battery out for a while and putting it back in and then trying to get to bootloader?

will your computer recognize the phone when plug it in? make noises etc..?

you might be able to try and flash the 1.2 olipro bootloader and go from there if so

It is not showing connected at all......Do you have the 1.2? I tried opening the 2.4 again and it cant connect to the device

here you go... try putting the phone into bootloader mode while it's plugged into usb?

that is not working but I was able to get the phone after a hard reset to pop up on my computer saying Unrecognized USB device. but that is all i got

This probably isn't going to help at all, but when I go to bootloader mode I usually hold Camera + Power, push soft reset, and not let go of Camera + Power until the bootloader comes up. Like I said, probably won't help, but it's worth a shot.

Took the words straight outta my mouth...I can't hit the buttons right (I'm old and uncoordinated :) )when the phone is on its back. I set my phone on edge so I can push down with 2 fingers..press reset with the stylus and wait until the bootloader screen pops up...then release everything. mkenny2 whats showing on your phone screen now...still the verizon splash screen?

haha its easier if you use your left thumb and the side of your index finger to hold down the power and camera buttons while holding the phone, then use your right to push the stylus for the reset. and your sure your holding everything down for ~2 seconds?

I called verizon and told them the phone kept freezing and i did a hard reset and now I am stuck on the Verizon logo screen. They are sending a new one haha....Is there any way to tell I messed it up if I send it back?

I wouldn't worry about it...if you couldn't get it into bootloader its not likely they will either. Congrats on the new phone.

gettin free phones is a fantastic feeling haha. when i had my 6700 i got 9 free phones just on my manufacturers warranty, which was hilarious because i bought the phone off ebay with no warranty =X gotta love it. thats a good story actually.

with my 6800, i ended up dropping it in a 4 inch puddle 3 hours after i bought it. i was ripshit. called asurion and they sent me a new one, which i bricked the first time i tried upgrading my phone. i actually called asurion and told them i was stuck on the bootloader screen, and some ignorant girl on the other side was like 'ok that sounds like pressure damage' cause i told her about the tri-color screen. i said 'no i was trying to load a custom rom on my phone dah dah dah i just need to use my insurance to get a replacement.' they ended up sending me a replacement, refunded me 50 bucks, and i still have the insurance coverage on my new one. word.

this is my second new one...I had them activate the old one bc I never sent it back...had buttons not workig and was freezing. They were mad I still had the first one! But I just upgraded this one and have everything working except GPS.....TomTom just says no valid GPS signal. QPST is changed but I do not know how to change the location thing in 3.2.2....any help with that would be awesome

haha the funny thing is, i told them straight up that the phone was purchased on ebay. i had a weird issue where i couldnt receive any calls or texts unless i was on the 1x network, so i would call my voicemail in order to receive my texts and missed calls. after like 12 hours on the phone with support over 2 or 3 days they kicked me up to data support cause i was getting so pissed. at this point, i was a pro with soft and hard resets, and knew all the basics they would try to have me do. so when the rep got on the phone i said 'ive already done this this this and that whats next..?' the rep says 'whats your address ill send you a new one.' without hesitation he put the order in and it was done. when i got that phone and it broke, i called verizon and they said that they wouldnt service it because i should have never gotten it in the first place, to which i said 'hey f*ck you pal you guys f*cked up and sent me a new phone with a 1 yr warranty you HAVE to honor it.' they put me on the phone with a superior and i said the same thing to him, which he agreed with and said how lucky i was. hahaha. god bless america

In all my experience, I have truly learned the importance of talking to the right person the first time. If I don't feel that I can totally work over the customer rep within the first few minutes, I will hang up and call back until I know. I have never ended disappointed. Indeed, God bless America.

haha i hear that. but like you said, CSRs are idiots, so if you just talk down to them like no matter what they say, you know more than they do, they don't want to be made a fool out of and they just do what you say.

The 6800 is really hard to brick.. I guess it's possible you screwed up the bootloader...

I sent a good friend of mine a link to this site so he can flash his... he called me freaking out with the same issue you have. after 10 minutes on the phone, he couldnt do it.

I actually drove there (10 minutes) and did it for him first shot... He tuned beet red.
