Usually all gps mice with a surfstarIII chip should be pretty good. But as harrysaab said you still need a software with maps for india.

Yeah I use GPS in India
Bluetooth GPS model Holux M-1000B
which has more sensitivity than sirf star III chip.
and awesome 22hour battery life (verified)
software I use is Efficasoft GPS utilities.
you can create your own maps in that.
you can also use destinator for smartphone for which you can buy the city maps (available with satnav)

1. i got the bluetooth gps from semsons in US
nice deals they have. Here its costly, around INR 5K or something.
2. yeah creating maps is easy but for limited area.
you just have to copy the map image from google maps or any other source and then locate 3 coordinates using GPS. thats it.
3. talking about cracks and warez is not allowed here.
check out SatNav's website (www.satnavtechnologies.com) for more info
check out mapmyindia too
their maps are said to be more accurate

I use a GPS20C which is identical to the Freedom GPS keyfob unit. It takes a bit to get a signal from cold boot, however once it's up and running it's good. I use it with all my applications, WiFiFoFum, Garmin XT, Windows Live Search, Google Maps and Efficasoft GPS Utilities.
It was fairly cheap at around $80 shipped.
