i am having a problem with a hot battery. It seems fairly common from reading, but I've not seen anyone else mentioning marks on the battery from the heating. The horizontal stripes on the inside of the back case have created marks on the battery where it has heated up. Does anyone else have this problem?

Also, a slight n00b question, if I do a hard reset, am I right in thinking I will keep the original ROM I had? Also is the 1.37.405.1 WWE the latest WWE ROM?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Stripes on BATTERY? Battery hot is not so normal, the chipset below the battery gets hot. Those stripes (I looked at it myself) are not from heating but just from pressure in your pocket :P I got em too. And the hot chipset doen't mind, you could have found that in one of the many treads.

With a Hard-reset you reinstall the latest flashed ROM, so yes, it will still be there.

Many thanks for the fast reply. Can others please confirm the stripes too? I have a few down each side of the battery. The 'plastic' also seems to be raising up slightly down all sides of the battery. Not sure if mine is too hot. Does anyone know if that is the latest official ROM too?

Same here, plastic raising a little bit. Though have only got 3 stripes (adidas :-p) on the right, right from the word 'innovation' on the edge of the batt.

Same issue here...didnt think of it at the time as it was charging

But then yesterday, the phone was on all day, paired to the car for about 3 hours and the phone was getting very warm
And it was not on charge at the time

Obviously something is not right... come from a Tytn (along with many old devices) and an N95 - neither of these heated up

Same problem for sometime battery is really hot after a call or data connection. Is that from every device??

Meme probleme la batterie deviens brulante après un appel assez long ou les connection data. Meme probleme pour tous les appareils??

The strips are simply pressure points from the case and appear to be there to prevent the case from quacking like a duck - which coming from SE is a good thing!

The unit does get warm in use but mine is cool when charging. When it is warm I've taken the battery out and it's still cool but the processor is towards the bottom of the phone and this does get warm which I would expect, my Fujitsu N560 PPC used to do exactly the same thing.
