1. make an application unlock (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373229) (REQUIRED if you're flashing from official rom only!)
2. run RUU_STAR100_WM61PRO_V2.exe on your PC
3. follow the instructions
4. wait until flash process will be completed

You can flash it over ANY (Qtek, Dopod, HTC or Cingular) rom!

Somehow, my contact info cannot be properly displayed on the phone after active sync.
I can see the list with the phone number.
But, when I do to the details, the summary is EMPTY.

When you say GSM module, do you mean the Phone in the Comm manager? Yes it is on. I was wondering if something may have been wrong with my SIM card, so I reflashed it back to Pro V1 and everything seems to work fine. I tried everything I could think of to get it to connect and it still said "no service".
Like I said V1 seems to work fine, but V2 sure is allot slicker and quicker.
Hoping for a solution.

Regarding the Empty Summary for contacts, yap it's the same with me. Summary screen is empty. But when you try to edit it, it displays the details of the contact. So for now I use that as a workaround.

Due to the previous post, I went ahead and tried it again, this time I flashed it without my SIM card, also I was flashing it through my MicroSD card. but I don't think that would make a difference. So I flashed it without the SIM card and turned it off and inserted te SIM card, and now it appears to be working, it registered with the network and even the keypad works now to dial a number. I'm wondering if somehow my SIM caused the OS to be corrupted in some way when I flashed it. I did not remove the SIM card when I reflashed it to V1, so I know the SIM was inserted properly. It is working now, so I need to check it out.
Thanks for the hard work, will let you know how it goes.

Edit: I also have the same problem, the contact summary is blank and the softkeys will not work until I try to use the notes tab, then I can edit it but only the settings will display.

I had the same issue. When I connected via active sync my phone hangs too. This is what I did, when connecting for the first time via active sync it will launch a selection screen containing, contacts, calendar, etc... Which you can tick and untick. Try NOT to tick (Or put a check mark) on "Media". I personally do not know why the phone hangs when you include media while syncing. I hope this helps.

it sounds like you need to do a hard reset, after doing so make sure you do not have the lock feature checked in settings.

hard reset by powering off the phone, hold the left and right soft keys, power up the phone while continuing to hold the left and right soft keys, wait until screen asks you to press 0, press 0.

I'm not a big fan of the idea of having Windows Mobile Professional on a device without a touchscreen. While it certainly is a great and cool achievement and I'm really thankful for all the effort your putting into this, it just feels like giving up a lot of usability (like easy navigation via dial-pad) and living with some very annoying limitations (like having to use the on-screen keyboard) without gaining much in the process (other than the option to use software in their non-Smartphone versions which are usually significantly harder to use or not usable at all).
I consider myself a geek, so I fully understand your motivation behind this (it just seems more interesting and challenging than polishing a boring "Standard" ROM), but I still have to ask:

Are you planning to give the 6.1 Standard ROM some lovin' in the future? You announced that you were planning to at least release another update for it multiple time. Please don't feel obligated to do any work on my behalf, but simply know that quite a few people would be really happy if you could put some of your efforts into making a really well working and polished, clean version of the 6.1 Standard ROM. It's not that the current one isn't great, it's just that it could still be a little better. :)

Some people might like to know that qioetipo's German is even worse, more offensive and less coherent than his English ramblings. I assume he is just a little kid that just hit puberty with too much time on his hands. I reported him and hope that a mod will take some action eventually. The ISPs in most German-speaking countries provide dynamic IPs so permanently blocking him might be tricky, but simply completely ignoring him from now on is usually the best way to get rid of a troll anyways.

I assigned the input panel toggle to my recorder (hold) button, when a PPC program activates the input panel, I turn it off and use the alpha numeric keypad to type, it works fine that way. If the input panel is inactive it will revert to the alpha numeric / T9 input on most programs.

Using the WM pro version really expands the capabilities of the phone.

The battery on the status bar look the same when the power lowered from 100% to 70%.

I've got a CIngular 3125, I've flashed this v2 PPC ROM, Its way far easier to use for someone who comes from smartphone than V1, but there's an issue I cant still resolve, everytime I reboot the cellphone, everything settin/program installed in built-in flash is lost and when rebooting it behaves like if the ROM were just installed, any suggestion?

As for the CPU threshold, from what I read shouldn't be over 228. Though overheating is the problem, short bursts up to 247 are probably ok, I have mine set on 200 normal, 234 max and 247 boost, and it seems to run fine. As with any overclocking, you need to do it at your own risk, not all processors are created equal, because of manufacturing, some can run hotter than others.
Then another will burn up and you have a dead phone. Its a roll of the dice.

It really does depend on the phone, I have 2 and both are set to 286, any faster and they lock up. (if your phone locks up just do a hard reset)
I have been running them at that setting for several months (since the first release of 6.1 pro) with no problem, just know that even when you set it that high, the actual speed is much slower, both of mine test at around 250 with tcpmp. The average temp is around 31deg and the average mA is around 85, like I said, mine have been very stable at this setting.

To this time I used Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional AKU 1.0.0, 5.2.19199 Build 19199.1.0.0 WWE (ENG) and now I am testing new ROM and I observed next problems (maybe bugs, maybe I can’t use this new ROM).

1) Details in contacts are really empty (same members in this thread have same problem)
2) CoolCamera makes in room worse pictures than official software and I can’t start this program via OK button – only thru Start Menu
3) Add to ROM WM5torage is great idea, but maybe will be better to use last version WM5torage_18.CAB
4) Still I have the same problem like with last version ROM: when I am using TomTom 7.x. (via bluetooth GPS) always after 60 sec display automatically off (although I have in program: Turn off map display Never, in settings –System-Backlight I unchecked: Turn off backlight if device is not use).

Edit:
My next problem: when I start enter any name on keyboard (from Today screen) and then choice contact and tap Menu, is in Menu preference: Send text message. But when I first open Contacts and thereafter start write any name on keyboard, then choice contact and open Menu, I have only preference: Send MMS (no SMS).

BTW: in Program isn’t icon Message – I have to choice it in Start menu only.

Yes this works. But in the previous version of Wm6.1 pro rom for StrTrk the keypad recognizes the "input mode". ut with your way i can live with it...

I found a bug with the way i solve the contact issue.
The external screen won't show the contact picture when somebody calls in.
I assume that maybe the version of the DLL file i found does not match the ROM.
I would really apperciate if Eroofich can find the perfect DLL file to solve this.
ps. some people says the contact bug is due to the DPI issue. I re-flash the first ROM and found that the contacts works great.Maybe Erofich can help by supplying the DLL file in the first ROM.:(

To this time I used Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional AKU 1.0.0, 5.2.19199 Build 19199.1.0.0 WWE (ENG) and now I am testing new ROM and I observed next problems (maybe bugs, maybe I can’t use this new ROM).

1) Details in contacts are really empty (same members in this thread have same problem)
2) CoolCamera makes in room worse pictures than official software and I can’t start this program via OK button – only thru Start Menu
3) Add to ROM WM5torage is great idea, but maybe will be better to use last version WM5torage_18.CAB
4) Still I have the same problem like with last version ROM: when I am using TomTom 7.x. (via bluetooth GPS) always after 60 sec display automatically off (although I have in program: Turn off map display Never, in settings –System-Backlight I unchecked: Turn off backlight if device is not use).

Edit:
My next problem: when I start enter any name on keyboard (from Today screen) and then choice contact and tap Menu, is in Menu preference: Send text message. But when I first open Contacts and thereafter start write any name on keyboard, then choice contact and open Menu, I have only preference: Send MMS (no SMS).

BTW: in Program isn’t icon Message – I have to choice it in Start menu only.

:rolleyes: PPC dude, you're using a ppc rom. Smartphone apps won't work. Hope this helps.

Actually some smartphone apps do work with the 6.1 pro version. I just wish I could figure out a way to install/port some of the smartphone friendly apps from 6.1 standard rom. Nothing I do seems to unlock the rom.

For some reason, after installing this rom, I lose my ringer. I have the volume up, and it works immediately after installing, but at some point, it stops working. I've had to go back to the 6.1 standard. Has anyone else had an issue? Is there a fix? Could it be any software I'm installing? Basically just handbase, mobipocket.

It has to do with whether the app installer checks to see if is a smartphone OS or not, allot of smartphone apps give me an install unsuccessful error. But some do not.

I guess your phone has gone to waste...I bricked my one as well while trying to flash V2. Erofich told me it may be caused by an instable bootloader, version 3.XX but V1 flashing went well.

I have tried everything (including flashing from sd card) eventually i have returned my phone to qtek fpor repairing. Maybe its like with those wizards that you better flash an oem-rom first before processing a custom one.

Hmmm, thats strange, I never had a nag screen pop up and I use batterystatus ext. Its a beta version so I don't think its for sale yet. Must be a registry glitch or something.

How can I share the Internet Connection of the phone to a Notebook?

(I already found the "Internet Sharing" shortcut but the question is what to do after...)

In order to find it out, i activated the Sharing through Bluetooth PAN. (On the telephone).

Now ist the the question what I have to do on my Notebook.
My Notebook displays me a Dial Up Connection and a Network Access Point Connection.
What I have to chose and what I have to enter on the Notebook then?
Is there anything to do with the telephone (except the sharing shortcut)?

I have the same problem - maybe bad work with memory in WM 6.1, because more than 8MB is PIM data (memos, contacts....) and free is only 1,2 MB.

I have just flash your WM professional 6.1 ROM on my I-Mate Smartflip device,

1- I have problem on USB syncron, when I insert the cable within second the device freeze!
It's still freeze untill I reset device, even plug out the cable its same. (I'm using Vista on PC)

2- GPRS doesn't work, I'm making GPRS settings manually, In the Modem Settings advanced mode, I'm writing required server name access point name ie.... but when I insert name in
User Name: (must keep empty)
Password: (must keep empty so our ISP no use user and password)
*Domain : ADVANCED (our ISP need this domain for access)
and press ok save it.
that I see software automaticaly cut the domain name and insert it into the user name line!
when I open modem settings again that I see domain name go into the user name as below!

*Domain :

of course by this change the GPRS modem doesn't work without Domain name!!!

COULD YOU INFORM ME HOW CAN WE FIX THESE,

cool camera does have zoom, but it is limited by the resolution u use. ie, if you have it set to pic res of 1200 you cannot zoom, if you set it to 160 you can zoom up to 8x, just use the up/down arrow for the zoom feature

For today plugins, you could use HTC Home plugin (six buttons), and to customize it, use HTC Customizer. If you want a total theme change, you could use Mobile Shell. There are a lot of themes available for mobile shell, just search it.

I have deleted the SSPL folder from my Dopod S300 , did a SDA_Application Unlock again , then copied a new SSPL folder from WM6.1 Build 5.2.19202 AKU 1.0.0 rom to my Dopod S300 , and inside my dopod SSPL folder , i can see JumpSPL , SPL icon and SPL icon with a windows logo , but when i pressed Jump SPL nothing happened , when i pressed SPL icon , it says - Cant find Jump Spl or one of its components. Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all the required libraries are available .
What can i do ? Should i delete SSPL from my dopod S300 and redo all over again ? Did i downloaded the right complete SSPL folder from the right rom into my dopod ? Please teach me how to go about it again , as i am very new to all these and i am not giving up so easily . Thanks for your very fast replies to all my enquiries all these while and best regards :)

1. I used to having user profiles in WM5 (Normal, Meeting, Silent, etc.) and they were pretty useful to quickly switch from one set of settings to another. It was a very useful feature. Is there something similar in WM6.1 Pro V2?

2. Is there any way to change clock on small outside screen. I like to have a digital one. I went through all Settings and couldn't find a place where to do it.

3. Back errow used to have very useful functionality for navigation. It allowed to exit current window without accepting any changes. It was practically "cancel" button. It would be great to restore such functionality.

I need your help- I try to install this Rom to my Qtek 8500, but i have every time the same problem. I made an aplication unlock, then I conect my phone with active sync and then I run RUU_STAR100_WM61PRO_V2. I follow the steps but i am not able to establish an active sync connection when RUU is running at the beginning. I have a connection before i run the Programm. Then the screen of my phone turn white and then the window with the 4 colours appeared on the display, but i also lost the active sync connection. I have windows xp on my computer and the original rom on my qtek.. Any suggest?

I think It's very hard to push "ok/close" with the side camera button, not easy and too small button , why is it impossible use the round center key of the D pad set as "ok" button in all the case, it's logical and it will be very very confortable, And use the back arrow key like "backspace" or "previous page" like browsers (when you are in application).

Strange issue...Fakecursor was working fine until I went into the setting to try and tune down the movement from 10 to something smaller...now, whenever I lauch FC, it just sits in the corner.

I tried a reset to see if it was just hanging but the same thing keeps happening...has anyone else seen this and have any ideas on how to fix? I am running Vista on my box here so I don't have an easy way to reinstall but I can always surf on the phone and download it to the device directly an reinstall but I am hoping somebody has a quick fix for me.

Note, I have used FC quite a bit on V1 of this great ROM so I would say that I am pretty familiar with how it should work...it just seems to not be working for me right now.

I did have one question however -- many of my contacts have multiple phone numbers, such as home # and cell #. With the original WM5 OS I could select the contact name and then pick which number I wanted to dial, however in WM6 this seems to work differently. It always dials the first number assigned to the contact and I can't seem to find a way to select any of the other numbers. If I edit the contact on the phone I see all of the numbers but I can't dial from that screen, and I can't find any menu options or anything that lets me control this behavior. Am I overlooking something?

Hey Erofich or anyone who has a solution, I've read it in the Pro v1 thread about setting the default typing characters to ABC rather than xT9, the problem is the cab that I got from their seems not to be totally working with this new version. It won't let me use the symbols when typing. So if anybody knows how to set the typing characters to ABC by default it would be a great help. Thanks in advance. :D

EDIT: I did a hard reset, and after even without the CAB (HTC+Touch+Dual-default-ABC.CAB) the symbol mode for messaging is still not working. Does anyone have a similar problem? Any solution for this?

Sadly, deee_Wreck, there's no fix yet. But you could still access the symbols by shifting from ABC to xT9 while typing your message, even the smileys are accessible (I think its button '1' while in xT9 mode). Though it's quite bothersome to keep on shifting from the two input methods... but its better than nothing.:rolleyes:

I don't suppose it's possible to change the display of the External Digital clock 2 in your next 6.1 std build? I preferred the all white "digital" font as you used in your WM6 Std with Neo interface. I have tried your 6.1 and the Clean 0.4 build and they both have the time in hideous blue font.

I assigned the input panel toggle to my recorder (hold) button, when a PPC program activates the input panel, I turn it off and use the alpha numeric keypad to type, it works fine that way. If the input panel is inactive it will revert to the alpha numeric / T9 input on most programs.

Using the WM pro version really expands the capabilities of the phone.

1. which smartphone-games function under WM 6,1 pro?
Many Smartphone games start, but are not usably because the keypad do not function.
2. The Solitaire integrated in pro V2 is not playable without Touchscreen, or with fakecursor. How can I copy the WM 5 or WM6 Std. Solitaire (Smartphone Solitaire) from the Windows dirctory of WM5? (copy with ActiveSync is impossible)

I change from V1 to V2 for the same reasons, the people call me for hours and the phone doesn't make any notification, any sound or vibration.. after a soft reset everything set up normal :( but for that problem i lost important calls without even notice it.. sorry for my english, i speak is spanish

It may sound crazy , but one of the bigger problems (for me..) is that its display driver is somewhat set at 16bit colour. The past few days i used this mobile as a compact video player (using 6.1 std rom v6 of yours) along with coreplayer and x264 video files, with superb quality.Moving to this ROM i the same videos i had in the SD card, looked terrible , after carefull checking the monitor, it seems its 16bit colour , thats why the intense BANDIND in colour gradients. (mymobiler , also informs when connect 240x320 -16 ) , IS there any fix for this??.

Other problem is the symbol problem that mention many users, but i think its solution is inside the xt9 pack a user posted above (Toshiba_OEM_Tegic_XT9.CAB) , when installing it, symbol works ok (but xt9 not..) ill try to isolate the files needed to fix it.

All the Windows CE 4.xx-5.0 based devices (including Windows Mobile 2003, 5, 6(.1)) have a limitation of display to 65536 colors. Even if display supports 262k and more.
Windows CE 6 based devices (including future Windows Mobile 7) supports more than 65k colors.

thnx to wmn79 (wmn79.4shared.com) for providing Greek XT9 for HTC Nike (works fine though :) ) and the Toshiba_OEM_Tegic_XT9.CAB the WM 6.1 Pro v2 has working , Symbols and Greek XT9.

as fas as i have no knowledge to compact the files in a .cab file , i extracted them and compressed along with the appropriate registry settings.

anyway when if first ran 6.1 standard on my imate smartflip it ran smoothly and everything went fine but when i flashed with 6.1 professional v2 i got error 260
maybe b'coz vista
well so i just copied the ruu .nbh <forgot the name sorry> renamed it as starmig.nbh and replaced the app data starmig.nbh file and ran it
and wow it worked it flashed and the phone works

but now the phone cant connect through wmdc i installed and reinstalled wmdc
some device driver installs when phone got connected
but later and after that wmdc automatically started up
but never loaded
when done manually firdt wmdc and then phone plugged in
message comes connecting......error

tried flashing but cant even do that now even with the imate rom
even from bootloader mode
comes error 260
and with your program error 270
i even redownloaded and checked no use
after error 270 the phone just boots up normally
also when i connect the phone to wmdc the phone screen<both in and out >goes blank <black screen>

Now I want to make a few questions first…your WM 6.1 Pro run perfect on the device? It has some issues? I’m thinking to install this rom, but if I flash whit these rom, the warranty is no longer right? I see on the forum that before making the flash process, I have to change some registry on the phone.

Can someone make a video showing the device running WM 6.1 Pro?

Hy there :) I've tested the Professional and regular 6.1 firmware from here on my Qtek 8500...
First of all you must know that the professinoal isn't made for non-touchscreen phones (wich is you Qtek). But there is a mouse simulated. I found this irritating, so I put the regular OS on my phone.

This went smoothly :)

After a while I noticed some problems with my SD card reader. So I reverted the original OS (you can download it on the Qtek website) and sent it to the repair service. There they just replaced the main board, and didn't notice that firmware was changed. So I think they can't see it.. but I'm not sure!

I bought my qtek when it came out...almost 2 years ago I think... was so tired of it and was planning to buy a new htc.

was running wm5.0 and it sucked... most of the applications or home screens would not run.... and it was always running out of space to install stuff in the device....just sucked

Right now I'm running wm6.1 standard (beautiful, no problems so far) with HTC home screen and for the first time I over clocked the omap850 cpu with tornado power control and omapclock (from 195 to 264mh). Its feels like a freaking new phone. I'm also running virtualgps, gpsvp, google maps,etc..... great

Since i have a 1gb microsd card... what home screens or cool applications do you guys recommend.

Hello Erofich,

I've installed your 6.1 pro v2 OS onto my StarTrek. I was running your Standard version just fine, but having a little issue with the Pro.

I'm able to sync with an XP computer running ActiveSync v4.5. It finds the phone, syncs it and fully connects. However, when I attempt to connect to a Vista Ultimate PC, WMDC isn't able to connect.

When it tries, it starts the sync process, but about 10 seconds into the process, the phone will lock up. WMDC will remain at 'connecting' or will stop trying to connect and stops at a 'not connected'. There is the disconnect sound effect that I can hear right before the phone locks up. I have to soft reset the phone to get it to work again.

Any ideas what might be causing it not to connect on a Vista pc? I've made exceptions in the firewall as per MS suggestions.

short camera button is used as "OK"-button
short Notes (Record) button is Fake-Cursor (dpad-mouse)
long Notes (Record) button is screen shot

This Rom is awesome! I have even running IGO8 on the phone. With Fake-Cursor its very usable and runs smoothly. The only downside is the hardware limitation of the micro-sd card reader being non SDHC capable.

Hi guys,

I like this rom very much, most of all since it is very close to former roms that I used on my prophet (which I gave to my son). Since I didn't know the difference (in use) between a standard and a professional version, I installed a standard version. The installation works fine, not one problem and I can even synch with my Vista PC. Now, I wanted to go back to professional V2 for the reasons tha I mentioned above, but every time that I run the installation it starts perfectly in the Dos screens and then the RUU starts, but it end by saying that no device is connected.
What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions? I tried again and again. I applied all the suggested registery tweaks, but still nothing. Do I have to run another program before updating from the official Qtek rom to his professional version?

I have been struggling to flash (again) this great rom, but I always used my VMWare based XP windows version on my Vista laptop. Today I could use a genuine XP Laptop and I could make a connection and start the upgrade!
Sounds good? That's what I thought too, until the upgrade stopped at 70% (and I didn't touch anything), because of a connection error. I followed the text on my PC screen and I finally it started flashing again for a few seconds and then my startrek suddenly restarted, but it stops at the first splash screen! I tried to get my device back to bootloader mode (push 2 soft buttons and start), but no bootloader mode, only the 1st splash.

I solved the problem.

3. whit changing this value , can we make this rom faster ? and also , what,s the effect of this change on ram & rom space ?

I don't remember current pp size. But to change it you need any PagePool Changer app.

Yes, you can make a rom faster, but available RAM will be a more smaller.

I download the SDA_ApplicationUnlock.zip, executes the program file, see the message: SDA successfully unlocked. but i executes the RUU_STAR100_WM61PRO_V2.exe i've the previous error. why? :confused:

Did you install ActiveSync before or after sp3? On the AS download page it says that AS is only compatible with sp2 or earlier. Maybe it neded to be installed prior to upgrading to sp3? This just a guess though, since my xp sp3 syncs fine, can't remember which order I installed them though. :confused:

Hi, I have just upgraded my Motorola MPX220 to a Cingular 3125, and I'm trying to access one of my favourite features in the MPX220 - the voice recogintion for voice dialling and other commands (I don't mean the learned voice tags), which I thought was a built-in feature of WM Smartphones.

Is that feature supported in this ROM?

That is a separate program called voice command and you wold probably have to install it to your mem card as it takes up a bunch of space. I have not tried it on a non-touchscreen smartphone but I am assuming it functions on these phones too.

I recently acquired an i-mate Smartflip (my first smartphone) and after a few days playing with WM5 I took the plunge and installed WM6.1 V2. I am very impressed, but I have a few questions (maybe it's me, maybe I'm missing some software or maybe known bugs)...

1) The input mode ("T9", "ABC") is not displayed in the status bar as it was on WM5. I find it hard to know what mode I am in. Any way to fix that?
2) I cannot find how to get special characters like "&" or "~". Holding T9 brings a menu, but selecting "symbols" does nothing. Bug?
3) I tried using the on-screen keyboard, but selecting "SHIFT" causes the fake cursor to jump around so that you cannot select characters.
4) Selecting an entry from contacts gives a white screen where I can't do anything. (Shouldn't I be able to edit the entry here?)
5) The fake cursor is a work of genius, but just for fun I thought I would try my Bluetooth mouse. It pairs just fine, but does not do anything. Has anyone got this to work?
6) Connecting to a dial-up internet service fails with "no modem at the above number" (which gives normal modem beeps when dialed normally). Any idea how to make this work?
