same experienced one time here. But opened task manager and killed the saber.exe process. no need for softreset.

Yeah, this is what i did to get the program working:

Went to this link and followed the instructions for downloading and installing .NET 3.5

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=E3821449-3C6B-42F1-9FD9-0041345B3385&displaylang=en

Basically, download the software, make sure you Diamond is connected via Activesync and then run the download. This will install .NET 3.5 to your PC / Laptop and then to your phone.

Once installed on your phone, goto the FIRST POST in this thread and install the latest version of the program.

To do this, click on the link and Download the program to your pc. Then unzip it to a folder on your PC. Copy the whole zipped directory across to your INTERNAL STORAGE and then use the FILE EXPLORER program on your Diamond to access the file.

Works for me!

I tried using the 0.3 version without .Net 3.5 installed and all i got was an error message:

"An unexpected error has occured in Saber.exe.
Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.

This application requires a newer version of the Microsoft(R) .NET Compact Framework than the version installed on this device"

I then proceeded to install the .NET Compact Framework 3.5 onto my phone and the program works perfectly.

However I have found after installing .NET Compact Framework 3.5 that my phone signal goes all crazy? I dont know if its the .NET Framework 3.5 that is the reason, or whether tmobile are just having problems in my area, but ever since ive installed .NET 3.5 the signal is barely present.

And also my Diamond now trys to grab a signal and then the Radio goes off and then in about 20 - 30 secs will start looking for a signal again and then repeat.

Mmm, After uninstalling .NET 3.5 it still does the same thing. Strange!

I will look at upgrading the Radio on my phone tonight to see if that solves the problem.

I have been finding that the 'hit' area on the button to power up the saber is too small. It sometimes takes me several attempts and then the careful application of a thumbnail to actually get it right.

Such fumbling could mean the difference between life and death in a pitched battle.

copy a shortcut to the exe to device\windows\startmenu\programs. you can then add from program selector in touch flow

@ markuz - i have the htc athena, this app really seems cool but only version 2 seems to make the noise when i move the phone around. all the other versions don't make sounds when i move the phone around. also if i disable the gsensor then i can see the light saber but if the gsensor is enabled i can only see the handle. i am attaching the gsensor.dll file for the htc athena i would love for this to work on my phone if you have the time. thanks

I cannot get it to work on my touch diamond, I have tried saber 0.3, installed .NET 3.5 etc but get an error: ObjectDisposedException.

Any ideas.

Hey guys,

I have the Orange version of the Touch Diamond.

Anyone know how to install this app. I've downloaded saber folder to Internal Storage. Yet when I try and run the CAB file through file explorer it says 'Installation of Lightsaber_0.5.CAB was unsuccessful.'.

Would appreciate some advice on this.

Works fine on my HTC Diamond on Orange with no ROM upgrade or tweakage!

The .Net did need upgrading though!

Stupid question but how do I find out what version of .net I am running? And if I am using a version below what is needed how do I install the latest if its a msi file?

Download the latest .NET Compact Framework from here:

Sync your Device with your PC and then install the framework.
After that it should work.

Connect your diamond to your PC using ActiveSync then run the .msi file on your pc. The installer then copies everything to your pda for you and will then prompt when it's time to continue the install process on the PDA.

This application is really very very good, I like it very much, thxs. :)
Just my suggestion...if we swing, we can hear the "won won" sound, and press the circle button, we can hear the sound of collision,that's what we can hear now, then it is perfect.:D

Had a blast with it!

Though I'd like to throw a suggestion for the next version:

1- Make the "lightsaber" on screen just be a fullscreen bright color (That way you can close your hands around your screen and your hands will glow!)
2- The Raphael has a flash, it'd be just awesome if you could (somehow) make it turn on when the "hit-sound" triggers.

Heh...my HTC Fuze arrived today. I'm happy to say that this is the very first app I installed on it. Ok...technically, .Net 3.5 was the first, but this was the first usable program I installed. Very, very slick little app. My sons are envious. :D

I am running this Successfully on my AT&T Fuze and it WORKS FLAWLESSY ! ! ! !

I had another Lightsaber app that looked great and you could pla the starwars music but it didn't work when you moved the phone. only Turned on the saber and played music. Then I stumble on to this App and AMAZING and Works I mean Really Works lol

Suggestions...

1) Better Looking Saber This looks a lil Kiddie and not Like the real Light saber. I'm sure we can get better graphics.

2) also The Star Wars Music was also a good option on the other app.

Yes thats normal . why make the sword move if you can't really watch it while you are swining ur phone around.

Sadly, I'm having poor luck with this app. I've got a brand new Fuze, and I installed the latest HTC ROM update. I also installed .net 3.5. I'm guessing that the new ROM might have caused the problem, but I've got no way to be sure. I can see the saber but it doesn't do anything. The debug setting stays locked at 0 for both values. The G sensor seems to work fine in other apps.

Any ideas? I'd love to be able to whap things...

As it turns out, it was my own stupidity.

The light saber app has an "On" button. I randomly poked at the screen one day, and the saber appeared. Then it worked fine.

Clearly, The Force is not strong with me. Sorry for the confusion.

I installed lightsaber v1 to HTC Touch Pro, but it doesnt work. .net installed, i think there is something with the g-sensor.
Its work on the stock Teeter game, but i installed NFS Shift, lightsaber and ssaccelerometer but they dont response for any move.
Any help?
I have tael rom on my htc.
