Guys,
I've noticed in a few roms i've tried recently that i got this program launched in my startup folder : SetHSDPA_Disable.lnk.
Does anyone knows what it's for? Is it automatically set by the connection setup tool from htc?

It will disable HSDPA (3.5 G) Capability. maybe to conserve more power or not supported by your carrier.

Ahh Thanks man!!! I have been pulling my hair out for a day with the new L26V9 Rom. I switch HSDPA on, restart and then it is off again....nasty!

ok thanks
starnge i'm also in SA... are you on MTN or Vodacom?
They're both supposed to be suporting HSDPA though. If i just remove that program from startup is it enough?

Yes, I am MTN as well. I had another look at this. If you look under Remove Programs, you will see Customization MTN_Disable_HSDPA. I de-installed this and removed the link from the startup. I then re-ran the Operator Setup wizard and they returned.... Looks like MTN doesn't want you to use HSDPA.... It has worked for me before where reception is good. I guess removing all and then activating HSDPA again will work. I just don't have better than 3G at the moment to confirm.

irritating that south african cell providers are such a bunch of
#$%@#$% %@#$ %% @#$@@# $#@%* #||%@@&%*.....
(edited for PG rating)
i also use KaiserTweak to enable the HSDPA and found that this works quit well as well.
