I'd like to introduce Kareem's REVROM v3.33. I spent countless hours and days working on it and let me say, it caused a whole lot of frustration and stress but the outcome made me forget everything that i went through. I thought i'd never get here, but here I am. First and foremost, i'd like to give the biggest THANKS ever to Ather90 as NOTHING would have been possible without him.

I looked around and saw what most people had and added them in. I tried getting as much as and at the same time leave around 140mb free space.

NOTE to ALL: Some of the programs included do require activation and i have NOT pre-regged anything for the sake of the site.

Things you should know about this ROM:


JiveTalk does work with it (if you get an error the first time, just close it and relauch the program)
LiveCast finally works (no more can't find camera hardware error)
Radio 1.58.26.20 works BEST
Radio 1.64.06.04 will NOT work. You wont get any sound\some sound and the camera will NOT work.
Thanks to Sleuth, this is UC capable.
If device does not auto-restart after configurations finish, you have to soft reset using the stylus.
PIE, Messaging, Ok, Windows, End, and Send buttons all light up! No more lack of light problem.
Originally, I had Tomtom7, MSVC, and Resco Keyboard included but were eventually removed for different reasons.
I did NOT include a radio in this ROM since different people have different preferences. If there is enough demand, I will cook the preferred radio in the ROM.
Windows Media Player has been replaced with CorePlayer.
PIE has been replaced with Opera Mobile.
File Explorer has been replaced with Resco File Explorer.
Keyboard rotates within a second on today screen.
ROM is based off HTC v3.03; CE OS 5.2.19188
You MUST have Hardspl in order to use.
Also recommended to use 3.07 HardSPL.

Yes, the reset thing is killing me as i still can't find a solution :(. I had everything mapped orginallay (button 6 was Resco, PIE was opera, camera was camera) but i kept on getting errors in BuildOS. After i put Advanced Config, i realized it was old, but will get it updated asap

Kareem... good ROM ... I recommend though adding all net adapters..! Like most here, I find it not too user friendly to have to hunt for the network protocol to add... I guess I am too lazy. All in all it is a good ROM... Please do not stop...

I know from experience that radio 1.64.08.21 and 1.58.16.27

One thing I would on this ROM is add File Explorer and a shortcut for Internet Explorer.

As I use Resco Explorer, I know many people use File Explorer as well.

It's nice to have CorePlayer and other apps like that already included in the ROM but I know a lot of people don't want to pay for the apps. I would maybe put in Windows Media Player or HTC Audio Manager or another free app like that. Heck even TCPMP would work. :)

If you use Coreplayer, go in file associations and click them all. If not, i'll be cooking a new ROM which includes TCPMP and File Explorer for users who don't use Resco and Core.

As for me I know I like lighter versions of ROM's

With the advent of UC (User Customization) and TierAutoInstall people can put on there device whatever they so choose.

Personally with apps like Opera, icontact, etc. those are updated quite frequently actually. As they are nice to have them built into the ROM usually they are not necessary for me.

I don't have own core player and thus, can't run it. iContact is not working.

It's the softkey for iContact on Today screen that is not working. Using Resco explorer, iContact can run.

I messed up somewhere in the OEM with mapping the keys and it really got me frustrated so i unmapped them all. You can change the soft keys in start>settings>system>soft keys. I will include TCPMP and File Explorer in upcoming version (testing now). I'm dying to find out how to edit the auto soft reset problem though.

You need to install hardspl and then you should be able to install any custom rom you want.

I had downloaded HTC Home on my phone the other day, which I like very much and added a different theme to it, except the dialer is still blue.

I am not saavy on any of this stuff you guys are talking about. I am assuming "cooked" means you overrode the original rom on the phone? I was interested in trying to get my voice command fixed, some referred me here as well, but it says voice command is not in this rom. And if I cook this rom on my phone and something happens, then will tmobile know I messed my phone up???

Those are the ones i've used as well. Chainfire just released them a few days ago and i inserted them into the ROM. As the drivers are updated, i will update my ROM accordingly. I have the OEM package for the drivers if you'd like them.

I've found to many bugs
may be is my cell that was shutting off by itself
red charging light came on without being charging it

but it was extremely fast roms great job
I woud say exellent
just a few bugs that needs to be worked on.

This would be the best of the best roms that I have ever test it.

It was brought to my attention that ringtones don't work and i'm working as hard as i can to get that working again. Sorry about that. Ringtones should work in the lite and ultra lite ROM, but not the fulle.

Side note: Does anybody use Resco Keyboard as their keyboard? If there are enough users, i can add that to the package in the upcoming version.

Great ROM for beginners. It was my first ROM, and i was very happy with it.. Everything worked fine, and to my surprise, it was very quick; a lot quicker then the ROM provided from AT&T. Has lots of features, good looking Today-screen, and lots else. Give it a try!

Also, i have a few suggests:
Opera Mini (intill a STABLE version of Opera Mobile comes out)
Get rid of the GPS thing on the today screen
Windows live plugin on the screen
When you hit the X, it actually closes the program
Get rid of the button noises (idk about you, but there really annoying)
Have a default phone ringing as a ringtone, not some weird beat or noise.
A different theme then the Black Vista; it seems that everyone has that now..

If i think of anything else, i'll let you know. But the ROM is great already!

I've installed the ultra lite rom. really great speed. I loved the ROM and RAM available to install all the applications I needed/wanted. feedback on some of the bugs/incompatibilities I found:
- Windows Live Messenger is not working properly. It does not sync with Hotmail. everything else works perfectly. I cannot remove/unnistall the application.
- Local Search does not launch.
- Skyfire browser cannot connect (I'm not sure is a ROM issue).

I'll keep an eye on the latests roms to continue testing them. thanks much again for all your great work.

@bubblebuddi, a lot of those things such as the ringtone will vary from user to user so if i upload say a startrek one, somebody might like it and another person might not so i left this for the user to decide upon. Opera mini would require some java client and i don't know if i want that in right now.

@moisesz, if somebody else can try and report back on those 2 and they have the same problem, i will look into them hopefully.

Hi, I just flashed your full rom. It was a little strange after first hard reset (freeze on "Tap your screen to begin," white screen instead of "Tap screen" and freeze) but if I would do a soft reset once, I could pass the initial setup and the auto-configure would start. I could never get it to finish and it seemed like if the backlight was allowed to go off, it would freeze (led's still flash) and I would have to soft reset.

Also, is there no connection auto-configure? Normally this will be the 2nd soft reset performed after I flash a new rom. I don't know how to set this up manually, but I assume there's a way to.

That's a bug in the HTC v3.03 build. I've yet to see a fix with it so in the upcoming ROMs, i might go to the v3.02 build. You would have to soft reset manually, i am aware of that. I didn't add the autoconfigure oem for the networks but i can certainly provide the cab and include it in future builds. I'll post the cab when i get it.

I know it saids Jive Talk works in the orignal post, to just keep trying, but I still can't seem to get it to work. It always tells me that it cannot be opened, it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. I've tried reinstalling it, but the problem persists. Any help?

@ nutcake852, try installing this (http://www.4shared.com/file/55930115/433e2757/SJ_ConnectionSetup_1_5_34564_2.html)(even though it's integrated in the ROM) but that should get it working and uninstall the one you tried to install JiveTalk.

I have installed the ultralite rom (followed by a hard reset) and I did experience the initial soft reset bug whereby the device couldn't perform a soft reset by itself without the stylus in the reset hole - no problem. I have hardspl 1.29 installed.

I love the free space available (I am a big fan of cabbing roms to suit my needs), and I am enjoying playing around with the d3d drivers as well - great work Kareem!

However, my device doesn't ever soft reset itself (e.g sprite backup hangs in the middle of the night at the first reboot and I have to stylus soft reset to recover, ditto when it is done).

Is this all part of the "soft reset bug" or is there something else going on?

Also, schaps advanced config give me the "shortcut error" even after a reinstall, and so does raiisak's soft reset applet - any thoughts as to what may be going on with this as well?

Hey Kareem!

I love this ROM!! I got my Tilt yesterday from a friend, and just like my old Blackjack, I had to mod it. This rom... It has EVERYTHING I've wanted so far... one problem though, and maybe I'm just missing it. I can't find MMS Messaging on here. I've tried going through the messaging program, I've tried going through the Camera App... no luck.

Is it just not included or is it somewhere and I'm totally missing it (which I usually do).

You have to set up the ATT mms. Not everybody has it so i couldn't include it and arcsoft didn't seem to be a fan-favorite so you'll have to download that cab separately.

I haven't tried your ROM yet - it looks real good though and I have been tempted. If it had a fully functioning version of MSVC I would switch to it. A version that works from day 1 and on day 31 ( I suffer from the bug many do where voice commands stop repeating thru BT and you must remove and reinstall MSVC to get it to work again). I also believe you said you yanked Media Player out which is a slight drawback too. The dialer is very nice looking and very functional - much better than those used by many others. I liked it so much that I installed on my L26 v9 build that I use. One negative for me on this dialer is that speed dial seems to be buried in the menus only, unless I am just being an idiot and cannot find a quick link to it on the main dialer screen.

Also, for me persanally, any chef who could figure out how to improve upon the BT on these phones would be a hero in my book. I have my phone paired to a Garmin Nuvi GPS, the Sync system in my Mercury car, and my Plantronics Discovery 855 headset. The problem is that you can never tell what device you are currently paired to and there seems to be no easy way to force the phone to use one device over another. So, while the 855 headset is my primary device, sometimes I'd like to be able to switch to the Sync system for a hands free call. Any ROM that included functionality to make this whole BT thing work would be awesome in my book - I know I may be wishing for the impossible, but I thought I'd share anyway...

This was my first ROM and was more like a "test run." The next version should be a lot better. I found out that i can't (and will not) remove WMP because you need it in order for the ringtones to work.

MSVC will definitely be included in the next version (extracted from the Raphael). I do have a couple bluetooth settings that should help somewhat. Next version should be out sometimes later this month :). If you'd like, you can also request a ROM that i will personally customize and build for you. You can do that here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410975). My next version will fix some new things (reset bug definitely).

I like this ROM... it's quick and runs well on my Tilt. I've been running for a little over a week now. So far here's what I've found:

1. A few issues with the soft keys on the home screen. Even with reprogramming them, when I reboot the soft keys aren't working again.

2. I've had a few problems with calling using the recommended radio. It seems as if every once in a while, I'll dial a number and all I hear is an echo of me and nothing on the other end, but the call does place.

3. Opera is very buggy. It won't even let you type with the hardware keyboard for very long when in full screen mode. I'd say remove it for now or place both Opera and IE in easily accessible areas.

4. I'd like to see an option to kill the iContact program. Although I like it in some ways, it's annoying in others. For example, I can't easily redial a number by pressing talk key twice now.

5. Task manager and battery... would like to see buttons added or quicker ways to access these features besides having to navigate to the system menu. I'm using the HTC homescreen.

6. Default mail app is not good for me because it lacked MMS, but I installed the mail app you told me about and it's great.

On to the good news:

BT PAN works seamlessly... thank you! :-)
When calls are working, the signal is great.
HSDPA is fast.
Has not crashed!
I like the GPS program.
Beejive was cool, except I didn't realize it drained the battery very quickly.


Can't wait to see the next build.

As for the softkeys, wait a few minutes after you change them, and then do a power cycle to save the registy.

That radio works well for me, but might not work well for others so give another one a go.

Opera was indeed buggy and their newest one is nice, however i'm not sure if i'll include it or not.

I'll have 4 variants of my next ROM and icontacts wont be on a couple of them (if any) ;)

Glad you're liking it. My next version should come out soon and will be a lot better. What do you mean change the defaults? You can map Skyfire to the PIE button by going to start>settings>buttons.

I don't ever post on XDA however I've been downloading Roms for quite some time and I can honestly say that this is by far the best rom I've used with my Tilt. The stability and quickness is great. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to you next release.
