I'm wondering does the 1350 mAh vs 1500 mAh makes a lot of difference? The price for 1500 mAh is about nearly 50% more expensive. I need some feedback.

would the two compare up in term of hours of usage, will it make a huge difference?

For the prices I saw them for its worth it :)
My battery certainly lost alot of its operational lifespan since it wouldnt keep charge even for a single day?! I figured a 1500mAh is only a plus point!

Not keen on the back of the Hermes extending out that far to accomodate the 3000 mah battery. It increases the width of the phone by almost half again....

Finally got it on Saturday. My old battery wouldn't last 24 hours. This one has lasted 24 hours. I put it in today for the first time and let it run out today and now I am fully charging it for the 1st time. I will keep you posted. Tomorrow will be the big test because it will have had a chace to fully charge.

Ok the verdict is in. I really like this battery. It does last longer than the standard one that came with the phone. The best thing is that it is the same size as the original battery. It has given me that little extra battery time that I need. I would guess another 10-15% of battery life. If you need a battery get this one. If you are fine with yours stick with what works....

ive gone with one of the 1650mAh ones buzzing round ebay.
its like...20% better than the original one i got with the phone, and like 50% better now that i have gone back to 0 cycles used.
the original battery that i had lasted 1.5 years.
enough was enough.
this one lasts a day and a half no probs.

once get a new battery, what should i do with it? should i drain all the battery power then charge it full up again? or should i just charge it up? but i do know that to keep the lifespan long, we should keep it charging whenever we can. i got it from one the threads somewhere...

dogeatdog01 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=369955),
Can you tell us which reseller on EBay you got your battery from? I want to get a 1650mah battery, but the only reseller I see that carries them for our phone is Total*Power*solution (http://stores.ebay.com/Total-Power-solution) out of Hong Kong. I'm hesitant to order from them because I got burned by another HK reseller last year when I bought a USB flash drive and never received it.
I have seen warnings about memory, flash drives, and batteries specifically coming from HK. Apparently they have a tendency to overrate their products spec. I figure if you got yours and it seems to exhibit the increased performance you were seeking, that if I order from the same reseller (assuming a power seller here) I won't be disappointed.
Thanks

I have both a 1350 mAh and a 1500 mAh battery, and don't notice a difference in longer battery life between the two. Maybe I've got a bad 1500mAh battery? It's a Seidio 1500mAh battery, the guys who sold my 8525 to me gave me that battery plus the stock battery. I do normal call usage plus I have direct push email, so more battery life would definitely be a plus for me.

I got a 3600mAh from Mugen Power. They have their own website, also on eBay. The price was $70 or so, if I recall correctly, took about a week to the East Coast of USA. I'm able to run IE and bluetooth all day and it only drops it to 90% on my HTC TyTn

Sounds good...how much does it add to the back sticking out and weight?

It adds 1/4" to the thickness, I'd guess maybe 20 - 30% heavier. I actually like the feel better, the bulge puts more surface in contact with my fingers and I'm less nervous about dropping it. The great advantage is that I can leave it on my belt with BT always on and no worries about battery capacity. Now, as soon as I can get stereo radio over BT, everything will be as copacetic as possible until the next technological breakthrough.

I have an 8525 with original battery...if I use internet for 10 minutes, it drops from full charge to 50 percent. Has the 3600mAh battery price dropped since the last post? Or, has it been made smaller?
I did a few experiments with mine using wifi router with the charger on. Either the radio or the battery heated up and it got pretty warm and the charge only lasted maybe 30 minutes...my laptop registered the wife connection as a 54g connection.
However, I got the idea of placing it in front of an airconditioner and it didnt lose its charge, infact it stayed at 100 percent charge. This leads me to believe it's the heat that affects the electronics creating resistance and thus burning more power.

Using WifiRouter will kill the battery in no time. I had my phone plugged into the normal 1000 MAh charger that comes with the phone and the battery was STILL going down even though it was being charged! :)
You are right on the heat issue as when I put the phone on a cool metallic surface then the battery stayed at 100% when plugged into the charger. As soon as I put on a soft insullating surface i.e quilt, the battery started to go down.

Cool getting that confirmatin from someone else....maybe someone should develop a cooler fan for these batteries...might sound ridiculous but it works...:D

I got a 1500mah one from Morpeth Mobiles via ebay, and it's shocking. You can fry an egg on it when charging, and it lasts less than 6 hours with 3G turned on. Worse than my 1350mah original which is now 15 months old.
Not happy... the one thing that irks me about the Hermes is battery life. For a full day I need two fully charged batteries to survive, even with only normal usage.

Anyone tried this 1650 on the Hermes lately? If so, is it OEM size or not fit w/o sanding? Where did U buy it? I'm debating this 1650 vs the 1500...
UPDATE Edit: Replaced my 18 month old 1200 with a slim 1600 ($7 ebay) battery a few days ago. What a world of difference, it holds a 90% charge for a very long time!

For any of you who have recently bought batteries (especially off of eBay), would you mind sharing which seller your purchased from?
I recently bought a secondhand cingular 8525, and while doing some testing today with wifi, the battery dropped from ~90% to 20% after about 30 minutes of surfing the internet with Opera Mobile 9.5 beta.
Here are a few of the replacements I was considering on eBay:
Standard form factor:
1350mAh "OEM" HTC battery - $7 shipped

Extended High Capacity ("Fat") batteries with included covers:

Any item or seller feedback is appreciated.
I think the phone is almost 3 years old, and I don't know if the battery has ever been replaced. I plan on using it mainly to check e-mail/assignments while on campus and make calls via Skype (since I subscribe to Skype pro) in order to save my prepaid minutes with T-mobile USA. My total talk time per day (phone + Skype combined) is usually 30 minutes, but I'll have Wi-Fi on most of the time.
I haven't yet decided whether to get a regular battery or an extended battery. I'd like to avoid getting an extended one since the device is alreaday pretty bulky as it is, but If it'll let me have round the clock Wifi and/or prevent me from having to charge every day, it may be worth it (which means I'll have to look into getting a belt clip/holster :)).

^IMO if you're going to let your wifi open 24/7 I think it's best you get the extended battery.
I myself ordered a 1500mAh since I mainly use my phone for texting and a few calls. I would connect to wifi when I need to update my weather, email and device update. I only use the internet browser when I go out and that is if the place I'm going to has wifi. So for your needs I think it's better to get the extended one, at least you won't need to worry your device will die on you at the end of the day. I think as I've read from other people's experience here their battery lasts for more than 2 or 3 days and sometimes longer.

my battery is take 12 to 14 hours for standby in chat (with JiveTalk)
and only take 2 hours for active chat,
and only take less than 1hours for HSDPA active
and take 2 days for GPRS only
was it normal or not?
I am using 1350 mah battery
thanks

Thanks for the reply. I most likely won't have the Wi-fi connected 24/7, but will connect to it for about 10 minutes every hour to check e-mail or as needed.
I'm thinking to go with one of the OEM 1350mAh batteries for $7 shipped, and then depending on how long it lasts, I may go for an extended battery.
There doesn't seem to be any good cases/belt clips that fit the Hermes with extended batteries, which is another reason for why I may just get a regular battery.
Folks, please post your battery experiences with e-tailers/eBay sellers if possible.

just do a research from the internet, seems the best battery is made by a china maker named "A happy pig".
as mentioned before in other post, his online shop address is as follow (written in chinese)

My 1500mAh just arrived today. I'm using it right now and it's already half charged. Going to be using it as a spare, hopefully it will perform well if not better than my than old battery. By the way my other batt's capacity is 1300mAh.:)

I use a couple of 1500mAh Cameron Sino batteries in my phone, as well as my regular 1350mAh battery (when I can find it). Bought the Cameron Sino batteries from Morpeth Mobiles and while the batteries do get quite warm during usage (what do you expect?) when I did have a faulty battery, they replaced it really quickly at no extra cost. Can't fault them for customer service.
One of the CS batteries has an XEll holographic sticker over the CS logo so it may be a B-grade battery (indeed, it sticks out very slightly compared to the flush appearance of Cameron Sino branded batteries, almost like it wasn't put together as well as the A grade batteries) but it doesn't seem to perform any worse than the other batteries.
I live in an area with good 3G reception (central Birmingham) but in my house I have borderline 3G reception. Where I work and go to Uni I have excellent reception, however.
Usage and battery life...
Regular usage for me using the web, make a few phone calls and send a few texts. Push email's also checking every 15 minutes and 3G is always on. With those settings, I'll get nearly a whole day day out of it, but it's close sometimes! Usually plug it in when I get back home anyway. With 3G disabled and running on GPRS, I can get two days out of the battery using it in the same fashion.

My Cameron Sino 1500 mAh battery is working pretty well, lasts more than a day that is if I don't play too much games :D. I don't have heat issues, it does get a bit warm when it's charging but I think that's normal. Hopefully I won't encounter any problems with it. :)

I got the 1500 mAh for 10€ from UK (EBAY).
It does not impress me either as duration when new and even less on the duration decay in the medium term. After 3 months it is at the level of my 1.5 years old 1350mAh.
At present drops a good 10% on an 5 minutes call.
I will update my radio (very old version) but this is still pretty much of a drop.

The original battery is very flaky for me now. Sometimes even at 40%, it would suddenly go to 1% and the phone would turn off.
Talk time is absolutely horrible, 10-15mins max before the battery very low warning comes on.
I would really like to buy a decent battery but weary of Ebay. I bought one of those high capacity thick batteries before but it was poorly made and it would not stay connected to the contacts so sometimes the phone would be off. I had to put a piece of paper on one side to "push" the battery into the contacts.
Are the claimed OEM batteries on Ebay actually OEM? I'm thinking of trying one of those to see whether or not it'd improve overy my current battery.
