I'm not sure if it is the rom 3.3xx, but I faced some stability issue as well. Twice my touchscreen was completely gone, and had to take out the battery. Soft reset does not solved it.

Also, ActiveSync works sometimes, and when the screen goes to sleep mode, activesync does not work. Need to reconnect the cable to get it sync again.

Will wait for your reloaded. :)

P/S: In terms of speed and stability, I find v3.1s is the best among the lots. Will do a comparison before I decide which rom to use. ;)

Well, the same problem,plus:
When I receive sms, the phone always opens it as the conversation, not like usual normal message. I couldnt find anything in settings to put it back to normal mode.
Any help?

16 August 2008 V3.3XG Reloaded

Pray God that this will be the real final for V3.3 Series. After doing some reviews and hearing feedbacks from you guys, it is apparent that the V3.3XG was the most balanced and stable one. The recently released V3.3XX was a disaster for some, due to problems with USB Sync, Screen Freezes etc.
* And I am sorry you have to go through the re-flashing cycle all over again

NOW, V3.3XG is making a return with the following fixes:
- Much improved performance. Comparable to the speed of V3.3XX but without the problems of V3.3XX
- Better compatibility with older GPS programs (MapKing etc) and can use Port Splitter & GPS Gate
- Some final addition to i780 Tweaks which include Blinker Notif by Zinyee and cab for setting Black Color Scheme
- The rest of the items are still identical to V3.3X
- For stability sake, Override.dll from official Samsung WM6.1 was re-used. Hence this means the ugly 3G+ indicator is back
- Default theme reverted back to V3.1s (seems a lot of people like it more)

NOTE: After installing Port Splitter V1.2, please Soft Reset once and you will see the output port shown properly and usable. Sometimes installation of certain programs will mess up Port Splitter and this is something beyond my skill to control. Port Splitter is perhaps the most sensitive application I have ever seen on a Windows Mobile.

I recently purchased the i780 and would not mind some of the upgrades that this new cooked ROM offers (Win 6.1 etc) especially with the new reloaded ROM that should be available soon.

So here are my questions:

1. does using a cooked ROM void the warranty? (mine has 2yr warranty)
2. If for some reason ROM install fails could I land up with a wrecked device?
3. What are probablbilities of that happening?
4. Should I not like cooked ROM can I revert to the original ROM?
5. Are there any major drawbacks to using a cooked ROM (other than the bugs that may be in it?)

I agree I think 3.1s was the best but i don't use port spliter. I never tried 3.3xg but will give it a try when reloaded. I also had a problem with reply to sms in 3.3xx with the qwerty keyboard will not work. As others some minor issues with activesync.

- Your Warranty Will only be voided if Samsung finds out that when you return the device to them for servicing/repair with a non offical rom. But the process is reversible. Make sure you find at least a copy of official rom (Pda + Phone) preferably DXHD1 - you can flash it back to DXHD1 anytime you have a need to return the phone to Samsung

2. If for some reason ROM install fails could I land up with a wrecked device?
It is very hard to brick an i780 because it seems this baby is already running on Hard SPL which means no matter what you flash it with, the bootloader will always be safe. The only real risk of bricking is when u flash the whole package (Eboot, PDA, PHONE). Flashing the PDA part only will almost be impossible to incur bricking

3. What are probablbilities of that happening?
Low.

Yes

WM6.1 is very new to i780. Bugs exists even on the original roms. Some we can tolerate, some no.

You gonna have to do a bit of searching. But it will be a lot easier to use DXHE1 which is an official rom as well.

The Reloaded 3.3XG is already up on the first page ;)

It is funny, i find 3.3xx to be more stable as compared to 3.3x. let me try a few days before upgrading to 3.3XG....too troublesome to reinstall all my apps.

Flashed, installed all apps and tested. Looks more stable than 3.3XX (did not have to soft reset till now compared to 5 soft resets with 3.3XX in two days). Thanks also for bringing back the V3.1 theme.
Not yet sure about USB charging - but it doesn't seem to work (battery bar 'snaps back' after removing USB cable) :confused:

Ok, found a problem: When I'm connected on my laptop to my company's network using VPN (Nortel Contivity), AS does not connect. As soon as I disconnect the VPN, AS connects to my i780. Once I received a message from the VPN client that the routes have been altered after the VPN connection had been established (probably by AS). I'm also unable to connect through AS if I disable the 'Advanced Network Functionality' in 'USB to PC'.
Had exactly the same with V3.3X. Problem went away with V3.3XX (didn't flash V3.3XG). Now it's back with V3.3XG reloaded.
Problem is that I can not sync my i780 with our Notes server...bad enough to have Notes, but not being able to sync remotely... :(
Any ideas or people having the same issue?

There is a solution to this. Look a few pages back not sure where but it is in this thread.

Install the latest rom and everything seem fine. V3.3XX, I think is the most dynamic and and had the highest of performance. I did not know what you did for that version, but it was a "Speedy Gonzales". Only issue that I found with it is the constant disconnection wit activesync. Other wise, I would had have perfer that version. All the feature and function work perfect.

V3.3XG Reload is a good blend of the upabove version with the activesync fix. I somehow found its performace not as good. I just see there was a sacriface in speed for compatiblity issue. Over all, not to bad.

IF anyone is a GPS expert, I would need help there. I still could not get the GPS to work.:)

V3.3XG working all excellent. GPS is up and running. I'm using GPSgate 2.5 and Route66 as well as Mapking working fine. I think I won't change this version so fast again.

Untick the HTCHome plugin in settings -> today -> items.
Then copy the files you have downloaded from the other thread overwriting when prompted to the HTCHome directory on your i780. Then enable the HTCHome plugin in settings -> today -> items.

V3.3XG Reloaded uses a new HTC Home clock. The ones u saw on the first page is the clock for V3.3X.

To get the Diamond White clock or any other clock you can search for HTC HHC Program which will allow you to change HTC Home settings.

Or the easiest way is to use the cab attached here, you MUST ubload HTC Home first from Settings - Today. Run the cab and then re-enable HTC Home. The White Clock will be back ;)

Portsplitter is a very sensitive program. Someone mentioned earlier that running in Safe Mode will make Portsplitter work. Safe mode is available from SPB Pocket Plus.

But instead of Port Splitter, why dont you try the free GPS Proxy (free) or GPS Gate? because it seems where Portsplitter fails, GPS Gate will work.

On my own i780, I can see that PortSplitter will work immediately after I installed it (after soft reset). But sometimes after installing some apps the thing don't work anymore - so I gave up on finding out why because PortSplitter is very unpredictable.

GPS Proxy didn't work before in 3.3X but I think it will work with 3.3XG because GPS Proxy require .NET CF 2.0 which is what 3.3XG Reloaded is running now.

The battery meter at the top right sometimes does not display properly. The small gap that separates the bars seems to disappear at points. leaving a larger solid bar instead of two separate smaller bars.

This is an expected behavior. The official 128DPI Override.dll affects the battery and network indicator. If you look closely, the batt indicator is quite accurate because instead of bars it became a single line gauge. But if u run in 128DPI, the indicator will be in bars again

set INPUT to what COM port you set. If you cannot find it, click com port then type it. For example COM8
now if you try to set OUTPUT to any COM Port, you will fail as it says it cannot connect to port and even if u have it to work and say "running ok" your gps wont recognize it. You have to use virtual COM PORT. I clicked virtual com port then chose Virtual COM6 then click add.

Mapking now works! Even auto-detect.

Little help needed. EFN's ROMs are great, but I've always been missing the Russian hardware keyboard support, since the PDA part (and respective keyboard driver) is English and AEKMap runs like a peace of horse dung.

So I decided to reflash full PUHE1 image (eboot+phone+pda). Unfortunately I'm unable to do it for some reason. After I connect the phone to USB, the Mirage shows "Downloading EBOOT..." in log window and "Downloading image 0%" in status window. And that's ALL! Nothing changes even if I wait for 30 mins.

Yes, I have Windows XP (not crappy Vista), I followed all the steps described by g00ndu in his tutorial - so I cannot imagine what can be wrong here.

Could anybody give me a helping hand please please please!!

NO promises but I am looking to adapt AZERTY and QWERTZ into V3.3XG. May take time and may or may not work. After all making roms is not my actual work ;)

After I connect the phone to USB, the Mirage shows "Downloading EBOOT..." in log window and "Downloading image 0%" in status window. And that's ALL! Nothing changes even if I wait for 30 mins.

Yes, I have Windows XP (not crappy Vista), I followed all the steps described by g00ndu in his tutorial - so I cannot imagine what can be wrong here.

Could anybody give me a helping hand please please please!!

It may be a good idea to remove the USB driver, rebot and reinstall. Then before flashing, remove batt and put it back on.

Tried, but with no success. Now it simly gets stuck on "Downloading EBOOT" status...

The best progress so far is "Downloading image" status reaching 14% - and then it gets stuck again. Unchecking "Phone bootloader update" button seems to have some affect on progress - it goes up to 50-60% and then I get an error "Checksum failed".

The latest Notif Blinker now integrate with WM notifications. You have to enable this in Settings - Sounds & Notifications - Notifications. Tick "Flash Light for" to whatever duration u want. Then it will work.

As for the Notification colors, I thnik on Zinyee website there's a mention of which registry to change.

PUHE1 is all in Russian, that's why you are seeing all the weird characters.

i780 EF V3.3XG WM6.1 Reloaded.bin should be flashed only to PDAsection and not phone or anything else - you have been flashing it wrongly.

To recover, please reflash i780_PUHE1_Rev12.img (using the EBOOT + PDA + PHONE button) to fix the problem and make sure it is bootable. Yes you will see weird Russian characters but this is how it is supposed to be.

THEN flash i780 EF V3.3XG WM6.1 Reloaded.bin for PDA section only. You should be fine.

Ive been using the final XX version for a few days (since you uploaded it).
For me it's working very good, no issues found that where reported here.
Runs fast and the battery is just stunning, i'm using it now for 3 days and the battery is at 70% :eek:, what did you do??? :D

So i'm going to wait with the XG version, test some more the XX and then we'll see.

On this rom AE Button plus works GREAT! didn't work great on original rom (phone freeze when starting camera), I use it with many combination of double and triple presses so it gives me lots of options, volume changed to up/down, gps key single press turns on i780 cursor (another small nice app that changes some keys to up/down/left/right) double press loads my gps program and triple press turns wifi on, really great app.

At the moment my reminders aren't working properly. When the phone is in standby I am not reminded for incoming mails unless I wake up the PDA funkction, then the ring is immediately running...

Just tested this new ROM x3.3XGR.
GPSGate working great currently, hope it's still working after more soft-reset.

Tahoma font still cannot set to the smallest font possible like in v3.1S. (Which is suck, less space in today view.)

There 2 icons similar icons - 1_Soft Reset and psShutXP.

So far these are the feedback i got for this ROM.
Really wish Tahoma can be reverted to the one in v3.1S

This is only a minor gripe about 3.3xx and 3.3xg reloaded. The software keyboard is not as good as in 3.1s with the shaded shift & functions keys. Also at the bottom it seems like part of the bottom row including space bar are cut off. And maybe the background below the keyboard is short in height. If I accidentally get too close to the bottom edge of the space bar it will kick me out of the keyboard. See Screen shot

I have read a post in a dutch well known forum (gathering.tweakers.net) that Samsung the Netherlands have said that a official 6.1 firmware is released and consumers should sent it to their repair service (Solidvision in NL).

And it is yet unknown is there are 6.1 firmwares at the Samsung Service Repair Centers. Where I can get my phone flashed.

I will investigate this rumour tomorrow by calling Solidvision and two samsung repair centers.

I flashed it three times. Maybe there is a different Hardware revision of the touchpad driver in my device? I think someone else reported the same error, but i cant find the post...

Maybe one should give a try with the original drivers or do you use the same drivers that were used in german HHA5 rom?

You can use VMWare Workstation 6 eval to install XP on your Vista. It will be a virtualized XP which run on images. You can later configure VMWare to emulate USB from your pc and it should wwork

If u are using Vista, WMDC has an update specific to WM6.1 and this can be downloaded from Windows Mobile official site at Microsoft.com. Similarly I think ActiveSync also have an update as well.

For hassle free synching, I use Bluetooth partnership to sync and it worked all the time :)

For WM6 or WM5 user, you can use Vito SMS Chat. Google for it.

Thanks for all the effort EFN. It's not your fault that we cannot use any GPS port splitter. We shall then wait for official WM6.1 from Samsung, and you may use that as your base for ur future ROM then.
Once the Official WM6.1 is released, I will do my testing and post the result here.

I also downloaded and installed SPB Shell.

Currently running SPB in 128 DPI mode and although it took a while to set it up the way I liked, I much rather prefer this shell than the HTC or Samsung Today shells.

I am really happy with this new ROM and everything seems to be working brilliantly on my phone. I love the threaded messaging that 6.1 offers.

EFN re the battery meter, when it is at 100% it shows four bars, then it reduces to a single solid bar as battery empties.


There is one minor thing that I am looking for a fix for:

When I make a call I get the screen keypad up instead of the call status window, on my previous setup I always got the call status window up. Is there a registry fix or some setting that I can change to solve this?

I have been having this problem since flashing my ROM with the cooked version.

With the latest XG version, i've decided to flash it without having my SIM card in the phone just to see what happens. To my surprise after flashing, there are connection entries of Diginet. Plus under GPRS Authentication, there are 3 entries of Digi Internet, Digi MMS and Digi WAP GPRS.

I can delete Digi Internet, but i cant seem to find where are the settings for Digi MMS and Digi WAP GPRS.

Furthermore, how did these settings get into the phone anyway wihout my SIM card.

Let me answer your questions:

1. I would not call it a patched version of the WM6.1, but rather a customized version of it. There isn't any WM6.1 for i780 yet, and hence our guru EFN had gotten another rom (Kaiser?), and replaced it with the Samsung i780.

2. See above. Both HTC Home and HTC Comms Manager worked.

3. Refer to the 1st post of this thread. Important is to check for your current rom version. If it is the DXHE1, you can straight away flash it into your phone. If is an earlier version, you need to upgrade both the phone rom (PUHE1) and the PDA rom (DXHE1) before upgrading to WM6.1

4. Yes, data will be gone, but you can backup via:

ActiveSync
Jeyo
Dotfred PIM Backup.

Also, all programs will be gone and need to re-install again.

That link is for SCH-i760! Don't even think of using that to upgrade it. (I was curious about the usa site since the us does not have the i780)

I have just updated to the 3xg the other day to the e1. i was able to download the puhe1 and updated that to the phone part but since i could not find the link and my downloads stopped midway for the pda e1, i just simply updated pda straight from this one and it worked. haha just 1 step less for those making a new jump and i can say that it's been working so far.

i love the message software of this rom! thanks efn nice work. yet to test all the gps programs i just put in tomtom 7 but have yet to drive around with it.

3. Refer to the 1st post of this thread. Important is to check for your current rom version. If it is the DXHE1, you can straight away flash it into your phone. If is an earlier version, you need to upgrade both the phone rom (PUHE1) and the PDA rom (DXHE1) before upgrading to WM6.1

4. Yes, data will be gone, but you can backup via:

Jeyo
Dotfred PIM Backup.

Also, all programs will be gone and need to re-install again.

That link is for SCH-i760! Don't even think of using that to upgrade it. (I was curious about the usa site since the us does not have the i780)

I have just updated to the 3xg the other day to the e1. i was able to download the puhe1 and updated that to the phone part but since i could not find the link and my downloads stopped midway for the pda e1, i just simply updated pda straight from this one and it worked. haha just 1 step less for those making a new jump and i can say that it's been working so far.

i love the message software of this rom! thanks efn nice work. yet to test all the gps programs i just put in tomtom 7 but have yet to drive around with it.

It supports one Frequency less, the 850 Mhz band.
Australia is Triband compatible, and i think in the USA you could have problems with Triband in rural areas, because there they have 850 Mhz.

To do so, I slightly modified one script of SASHIMI. After my modifications, the built-in diagnostics of SASHIMI detects 320x320@96dpi as a supported screen resolution and the AUTO install feature is enabled.

Yes the mouse will work on PUHE russian rom but after upgrading the PDA part it will not work anymore. This is also the problem with my unit, it will only accept complete rom/*.img for upgrading.

haven't tried SDAutoRun before - Sashimi seemed to be more appropriate when using as a stand-alone app.
For the speed increase of re-installing all apps and performing required adjustments: Well....preparation takes quite some time, right now I'm hard resetting for the 3rd time to optimize the installation (AUTO vs. MANUAL, File Copy, Reg Imports, ...).
But once it is set up - it should take me app. 50% of the time to fully set up my mobile after flashing a ROM. After all - I think it is very well worth the effort....given the fact that EFN continues his development - if not, my efforts have no real use ;-)

I did try out SDConfig by Alex. I did manage to get to the point where Mortscript is being installed but after that the program just quit on me. Tried many times but without success.

good seeing your name so i just had to post. haha i do need to update my signature. yup i780 stuck with me. i finally quit playing games and i found no problems anymore haha i dont even need to go realvga. thing is i text too much and it keeps hanging. i need to keep soft resetting. i thought this new rom fixed it for a couple of days but as i reached 2000 txts (incl my old ones) in my inbox boom new msgs just mess up my phone which shouldnt be. i had my birthday and didnt reply to half the people because when i780 hangs, u technically receive the msgs and calls, and ur phone rcvs it, it's just it doesnt store it so the server doesnt resend it to my phone so basically was an ass to people i didnt even acknowledge.

yep f the asus. samsung wm 6.1 is here. cant wait for the hg1... we skipped f1 so might be more bug issues fixed ! cant wait for efn to cook it. it's been fun to use plus i put spb diary on the bottom of htc home and it's perfect. deng did i blab a lot. haha

I went to the Thailand service center and they did not have the G1 which is 6.1. The guy which I have now become friends with lets me go in the back and on his computer it does not show any upgrade yet for the G1 not even in singapore. I did see the G4 for Omnia a Singapore version but nothing for I780. This is supposed to be there wold wide upgrade database software. The latest they showed for Thailand was E1.

i have a question, although abit OT hope you guys don't mind.

this morning when i turned off my i780 alarm, i found that the gprs/hsdpa connection is on and when i see the connection duration, it's 9hours something and it's really scared me off.

right away i login to singtel data usage record and to my surprise it's still show my 3mb usage and the data is at 20th aug 09:17am.

i am thinking is it because my device is turned off after 3mins inactivity so the gprs/hsdpa was actually in inactive (disconnected) mode although i can see the total duration is 9hours?

what is your thinking? thanks.

If I'm not wrong, the charges are based on a MB or KB usage, up or download. As your phone is in a period of inactivity, there is no data being transferred, even though the gprs/hsdpa is active.

However, I'm not sure if you are downloading something to your device, and the period of inactivity starts, whether the download will be suspended or not. For wifi, I know the wifi will suspend during the period of inactivity, and reactivates when the device wakesup.

Yes, for wifi if your device is in inactive then it will disconnect but I know this is not the same with the radio/phone/data, even your device is inactive you still can receive an incoming call or sms. Not sure for data connection.

Finally managed to talk to the Samsung Windows Mobile Customer Service Officer. According to him, there is no news as to when Samsung is going for the WM6.1, absolutely no idea at all. :(

From the looks of it, seems like there might be some conflicts in one of your installed programs. Worse case, try a hard reset and check if it hangs or not.

in both versions i have a big problem, when i try to connect in internet or update weather the phone connects to internet using "TIM WAP" but is not correct because it must connect to "TIM GPRS" that have the right APN.

how can i change this setting ? i have tried in "Settings --> Connections" but nothing! he always connect to WAP TIM

Ehh....I think you have to flash back to v3.3x because of v3.3x is using framework 3.5 and this affect we can't use port splitter...that's why , our hero is cook a new rom for us...and all of the latest rom after v3.3x is also using framework 2.0 only...Haha...Hope that this will help you...

easy... search microsoft for the framework 3.5 upgrade.. its 33 megs large and installson your phone for 8 mb, then you should be fine.

If i strike my finger several times over the touchpad, it sometimes works in start menu or wmp, but only at the 7th strike or later.... is it possible to install the old mouse driver in the newest rom, EFN?

I was fortunate enough that I have xp on my laptop and pc, not because to save on the software, but to save on my hardware. :D

If possible look for a machine with xp, you should be able to install without problems.

For the CE-Star program is not match V3.3x, also will crash the CJK6.1. So that after u install CE-star, you will miss HK Region setting. Only method just install CJK6.1 and only CE-star input. Method is post on #1. Hope can help u

Your operator must support this feature though...

One bug I found - there are no settings for Zenyee's Notification Blinker in the registry, thus you can't change the LED color/blink time - unless you import all the necessary keys yourself

Well.. this update isnt easy to get. You need to sent your phone to a repair center.. (takes 5 working days) or go to this center.. and it is only opened during working days, and it is not next door for me.. wont be able to get there within a week..

Thanks man, appreciate your feedback. I encounter similar problems too, and in fact there were twice where the touchscreen was lost. Had to reboot to get back the touch screen. Sometimes during wakeup, the screen freezes as well.

Just a caution, using gif as a wallpaper is detrimental to your device and will increase the chances of screen freezing. DirectDraw is okay, s2a answer and end key is okay i believe. The other potential problem will be the volume control.

I tried this software before ,
and in my machine it is not work well ...
and now i only install handwriting and cjksupport6.1 after install these and also install tahoma text from i780 tweak , then i can read , write and pinyin ...
only need to press once 中 and it will change between chinese pinyin or abc ...Hope that this can help you :D

Yes, I also notice the strange battery drop after each reset, it takes away 10-20% each time, making if I reset for 5 times, the phone battery is done -_-!

Jian Yi ... You may try this:
1. Download PlumSIP 6 with i780 Keymap from http://www.hi-pda.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=414746
2. Find the Quick Input skin and def from here, since the original cretor removed the skin pack but just provide non-hard-kb mapped version: http://sucker.idlez.net/quick_plum.rar
3. Follow the install guide, ie. copy the \skin and def file to \Program Files\PlumSIP6
4. Reset, done.

This version of PlumSIP 6 supports Partial KeyCaps, means you get Numbers when hold the keys.

Here are some notes:
1. I notice PlumSIP will crash with some Today Plugins and stop from functioning. You may only retain HTC Home or otherwise I won't guarantee it works.
2. PlumSIP, unlike BigHard in Palm, cannot directly enter English in Chinese input mode. If you don't want to change back to English input by touching the screen, better sacrifice the camera button for ftSwitchSIP, or map Camera button as key to shift among Chinese/English
3. When typing Chinese, it will show a input window for choosing words. The keymap of Word 1-5 is Left Soft, Green/Answer, Centre/Action, Right Soft and Red/Reject

PlumSIP should be then the best Chinese input method for i780's keyboard.

Really wish i have the time to go there and see it for myself.
Unfortunately i can only have it flashed by Saturday night.

With spb diary users, if you disable message tab, edit right click options to disable messaging and message access like go to inbox, write sms on birthday, it will stop hanging. My phone didnt hang for 24 hours now. Well of course it did but it was with another problem while i was tinkering with it using wifi though i havent missed an sms or call today.

Yep if u do decide to turn both on disable message tab and other right click options and you should be fine. I think it's because both of them acknowledge receiving txt msgs and updates the counter at the same time. i think something messes up. i like the big-ass time in htc plugin.

also, i disabled auto height adjustment. i made all the adjustments at the same time so i dont know which one exactly worked.

i still have a big problem with the gps. i got the german i780. i flashed the latest rom but tomtom still won`t run. i set the programport at 6(and tried 2 also) and hardware at 9, 4800 boud. tomtom says no gps signal. after a few minuets i get some satelites but no signal bars. gps proxy don`t work because there are no free virtual com ports. portsplitter doesn`t show any output ports.

Please help i`m getting mad on this :(

And just two questions - little OT, but i didn't find an answer:

was anyone successful trying to make NullKeybord work with i780? or maybe somebody knows any alternatives? when i choose it as a default input method, nothing happens(default keyboard stays selected)
Is there any way to engage device lock? I mean the one which requires entering a password to unlock, not just locking the buttons - i'd like to switch it manually, not with timeout..

set to COM8 and in TT choose Other NMEA, works for me. When you use GPS for the first time, it may take a few minutes (especially with TT - up to 10 mins sometimes!) to find the satellites. Just place the phone outside your house and come back in 30mins - if that doesn't help then enable XTRA downloading - this speeds up the whole process considerably. Or use iGo8 or Garmin before launching TT..

Well yeah, I have problem with Nullkeyboard working on 3.3XX. It worked on E1 ROM before I upgraded to EFN WM6.1. Agree with you that other than this little issue, all else are simply close to perfection.

I have been playing with French and German roms to figure out the QWERTZ and AZERTY. It seems both still uses US Zylonite dll drivers and this proved to be quite challanging to figure out how do they map to non US language.

I am toying with JPHE2 now and thinking of cooking a Plain Vanilla WM6.1 based on HE2.

Good News! I have successfully built a new WM6.1 which will be very plain and simple (Vanilla). Components from the latest JPHE2 (thanks to Ksameh & Goondu) were successfully integrated and running perfectly. But this rom is running on 128DPI for now and it looked as plain as an official rom Samsung would release.

Accidentally, the problem with Port Splitter is also fixed for good. Now it will load everytime with Out port properly shown.

I think it may be due to some problem with security that attributed to certain issues with some apps and I have totally reworked them to match DXHE1 in all aspects.

Only one area need some tuning now. The finger mouse tap-hold is not functioning and I think this may be related to a new bug in JPHE2.

Once this is sorted out I will release the rom as V3.4V128.

PS:
Windows Live has been removed so that u guys can experiment with installable version that work for u

I tried to dump the DXHG1 rom on my phone whole last night, but failed.
Will re-read the tutorial and instruction anf try again tonight.

Btw to EFN. On v3.3XGR, Port Splitter is working fine too, until few software installed to it and few more soft reset, Port splitter wont show the output anymore. Maybe you can test it on your new v3.4.

Thanks for the support. I am very happy with the result of the plain 128DPI WM6.1. Compatibility has been improved dramatically with more applications now installs properly.

A bit more adjustment and I hope to upload them tonight.

3 roms will be released and each will have specific offering to suit different taste :D

Anyone noticed this? I have EA buttons plus set to activate/deactivate wifi with triple click of GPS key so I fastlly turn wifi off every second I don't use it but it's really messy, Any ideas?

Weird, I don't have this problem with my device. Is it because of EABP? Try to uninstall it first and see if the problem gone.

Hey, what is this BT Audio problem fix? What does it do exactly?

I love 3.3XG as it is with only one problem, and I do mean there is only one problem I have with it, and that is that the BT headset does not properly activate the phone's voice command -- the audio spazzes out when I try to activate MSVC this way.

Does this regmod fix this problem?

I am releasing THREE roms which will be as follows:
EFV3.4.128s (Standard)
EFV3.4.96s (Standard)
EFV3.4.U (Ultimate)

The first two will be a Plain Vanilla without any additional apps and tweaks. Just as how you would expect an official Samsung rom would look like. These simple builds will allow you maximum capabilities to tweak and customize them to your heart content.

- The 128DPI version uses 80% of Samsung SCH-M480 official WM6.1 Pro rom components
- The 96DPI version uses a combination of HTC Kaiser and Samsung SCH-M480 WM6.1 Pro rom components
- 20% of the files specially drivers are still using DXHE1 official components. I did not use JPHE2 and SCH-M480 drivers due to incompatibility on certain areas
- The Samsung Apps from DXHE1 has been retained because they come natively bundled
- Opera has been removed so that you can install any version of Opera you like

*Please check the text files below for download links*

For now ONLY the first two is available for download because I am still working on the final touches for V3.4.U (Ultimate) which will be fully loaded with apps and tools (useful ones). Will also be tweaked differently from the first two
