Hi,
I have just purchased a web browsing bolt on for my O2 pay and go account. When I tried to get settings from O2 I was told by them that they have no settings for HTC mobiles - in fact that they didn't support any HTC models. Is this true or are any of you using 02 P&G to access web and email on the Diamond?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Richard

I am running my Diamond fine with GPRS etc on O2.
Also there are several O2 bundle deals for Diamonds at Expansys (http://www.expansys.com/nc.aspx?i=163250#o2).
When I set up my Diamond it offered an auto-configure settings after first booting which included O2 even though I bought this as standalone sim and contract free from play.com.

I am with o2 on simplicity, I also have the internet bolt on, didnt have to confirgure anything, it downloaded my settings (auto config) and havent had to do a thing. Upgraded firmware to Elite 3 and exactly the same. GPRS EDGE HSDPA all work fine and dandy. I'm in the uk and loving the combination.

Is there any way to run the auto-configure again without a hard reset?
Thanks,
Richard

They "don't support" HTC because they sell them under XDA name :) And o2 in Germany already got XDA Diamond.

Sorry to bump this, just got a Diamond, Im on o2 PAYG (UK)
Tried loads of the settings being banded about online.....
I can access o2's website on the Diamond but nothing else.
Im seriously considering changing provider, but.... I have £75 credit and its been my number for years, I like the extras I get with o2 (texts, rewards etc.)
Has anyone on UK o2 PAYG got it working?

There is a way to fool the server into connecting to the web via the WAP APN. Possibly O2 have 'fixed' the workaround, possibly not. It may be worth a try! Be aware that this was published for a previous version of WM, but the settings ought to be similar still:
To setup the XDA on PAYG for internet:
Go to Settings, click on the Connections tab & click on "Connections"
In the first dropdown, "When needed, automatically connect to The Internet using these settings:" select "New..." and give the connection a name (Mine's O2 Wap)
On the "Modem" tab, click on "New..." to create a new modem specification. Give the specification a name (Mine's O2 PAYG GPRS). For the Modem selection, use Cellular Line (GPRS) and set the Baud Rate to 57600 and click on Next.
For the Access point name, use payandgo.o2.co.uk and click Finish
Next, click on the Proxy Settings, and put a check in both the boxes & click Advanced.
Use the following server addresses & ports:
HTTP: 193.113.200.195 port 8080
WAP: 193.113.200.195 port 8080
SOCKS: 193.113.200.195 port 1080 (not sure if this works as I've never had to use it)
OK your way back out to the today screen and launch Internet Explorer
When launching any website for the first time, you'll be asked for a username, password and domain.
Username: payandgo
Password: password
Domain: <empty>

Looks like it worked, you can set the username and password in Proxy settings on the Diamond :) Menaing no need to enter it at first connection.
This will use my bolt on. correct?
BTW, THANKS!!!!

XDA Ignito is listed as a future handset on O2 UK intranet - all I can say.
So yes, we do support it.
I've got a Diamond and can use picture messages and the internet as well as Live Messenger and Youtube. I don't use RD but I presume it'll work.
I'm on a staff simplicity tariff with the unlimited web bolt on and it all works fine.

Connection name: mobile web
Modem: Celluar Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access point name: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username: O2web
Password: password
Those work for me, create a new connection in Connection settings. The auto setup tool did it all for me though.

That works for you as you are on a contract.
You won't get wlm etc... on the wap work around on pay as you go. Not sure about remote desktop but i guess it's all related to the proxy.

Remote desktop and messenger both use secure connections so how about trying entering 193.113.200.195 in the WAP Secure section in proxy and try it the following ports numbers 8080,9201,443.
Its only a guess but worth a try I think
