19. Touch-sensitive Wheel

I enabled all of these, and still nothing happens.
I assume this is supposed to make the capacitive effect on the cick wheel to work? if so it doesn't.

Yes, it is. For example, if you enable this tweak for Contacts app, it will allow you to scroll Contacts List by turning the wheel.

Just install on the main memory. It's safe and it's not that big ;)
I fact it should not matter where you install it. Have installed it on my Internal Storage and it's working just fine.

Just copy the .cab to youre device and run it by tapping it with the stylus. Do NOT unrar/unzip it.

This tweak changes the Acoustic file to AudioPara3.csv, wich does not contain any 100 db limitation.

Which kind of ringtone are you using ?
It should be in wma format to make it works.

That should initiate the installation process.

on 3MP, it takes some picture (2 of 3 or 8 of 10) then the screen change and i got a nice little error report ^^

It seems very strange :eek:
You could check your ROM version via 'Start' > 'Settings' > 'System' > 'Device informations' > 'Version' but it seems you are running an original official one.
Unless you change the system font (?), I don't see any solution for you, sorry about that.

I just configured the settings in the App and I can't seem to get the settings for the touch scroll wheel to work. I set it all the settings on enabled but it doesnt do anything when I use it in the Call History etc. I am using CDMA Telus ROM version 1.06.661.1. Any assistance would be appreciated because that would be my favourite tweak out of them all. Soft Resetting phone didnt make a difference.

I was recommended to use the Kaiser Tweak to resolve a problem on the Touch Diamond where the Word Completion does not work with the Block Recognizer.
As you have made mods to specifically suit the Touch Diamond (and that I couldn't see a reference to this on a couple of fix lists), I hoped you could confirm if Word Completion now worked with the Block Recognizer after applying the Diamond Tweak?

I have tried tweak disabling HTC Volume control but nothing changes - HTC VC doesn't disappear :( (softreset of course;)) It is important for me, because I have noticed that with Diamond Phone Skin disabled and original WM volume control (Panosha Simple 0.8 ROM) I can change In-call volume - this can't be done with HTC VC. I would use stock ROM, so that tweak would be great! ;)

Just download the file you want, It look like a zip file but do not unzip it ! copy the file to your internal memory and double click on it ! after the installation is complete you find the application in programs.

Does this program work on the Sprint Htc Diamond

Most of the program works on the Sprint Diamond. Some of the setting reset themselves to the default after use for some reason. Ring Time always resets to default for example. It definately helped with the battery life.

I got Ring Time value set up to 'Without Delay' but it changes sometime to 'With Delay'. It seems to me it is related to cases when I use mp3 player and change volume in volume control. After some combination of those two that setting is back to 'With Delay'.

Hi,

I discovered a bug in your program: After having a couple of tweaks done in your program and doing a soft reset after, for some strang reason all drop down boxes and the boxes in the contact list don't display text properly. It seems as if -though in landscape mode- the device wants to display the text in portrait mode cropping all the letters together in a space worth only the hight of the box. The only way to get that undone seems to be by giving the device a hard reset, and start from scratch. Just uninstalling won't help. Sad though as i find some of the tweaks in it absolutely brilliant! I am using a t-mobile branded Touch Pro. Using a couple of diffrent tweaking programs since there is not just a single one provding me with all the tweaks i want to have.

I have had cleartype in landscape mode on like you said, i will not give it another attempt soon as i just spent half of my evening getting everything back in order (no offense ;)) Plus i found the tweaks that i liked from your program through searching the internet and manually did them with a regeditor! Keep up the good work though. I'll try again with your next version (IF you find a way to fix the problem that is :rolleyes:)

MonteCristoffOn, i am about T9 turnoff. In your tweak, then you write new sms and fill the form of addressee it change the original view of it(like T9 is on). this i found in diamond tweaks thread nad it works fine for me:

since installing this i am having two problems. no combination of options seems to fix them.

first off the volume during calls is really low. speaker or headset is normal but the regular call is so low in volume it is hard to hear. all other sounds are normal.

secondly the output for mp3s randomly switches to mono. only a reboot will fix this.

isthere maybe a way to reset my device which is agerman xda diamond without losing data?

Niki has done some great work in building a CAB that adjusts the automated Diamond Light sensor to make it more receptive it extreme light. It currently works between 30 - 70% brightness, this CAB allows the Diamond to be 100% auto bright or 0% in total darkness

I have a little problem with Diamond Tweak: In item 6 (Data) I set all my data connections to enabled. However, when I soft reset my phone, the connections are set to disabled again! This really sucks, because before I can open a connection after a soft reset, I have to change the setting in Diamond Tweak!

yes it does ive been using this tweak everytime i ROM lol its the best thing that has yet to happen to this phone asides from gyrator lol....now if the rotation of the screen can speed up that would be amazing. so yes it does work on CDMA

On my Sprint HTC Touch Pro, setting the ring time to with or without delay makes no difference to the delay before the ringer starts. I'm assuming from what I've read this affects the short delay where the keypad flashes before the ringer actually starts.

I would assume a TP would have the same registry setting for this parameter as a Diamond, but maybe not. Can anybody tell me where exactly in the registry this setting exists so I can play around with it on my TP?

Great app, btw! I love being able to tweak the network settings. That resolved a connection problem I was having with my (slow) home exchange server timing out on over-the-air activesync.

I think there is a problem between DT and the Sprint Rom. For item 6.1 Data - Disconnect After-. If you change this from Disabled, then it is very difficult to answer a call when there is a data connection. If you change it to say 1 min. and later try to set it back to disable, the registry is not returned to its original state, and the problem continues. Currently the registry item must be changed manually to correct the issue. There is a thread on this over at PPCGeeks. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=40427 It explains which registry item is affected. HKLM/Comm/ConnMgr/Planner/Settings/SuspendResume
which needs to be reset to #777.

So far, so good on my Sprint HTC Touch Pro, except for one small thing. When I enable the date and time display in the task bar, I am not getting the full date displayed. For example, here's what I'm currently seeing at 1:56am on 11/4/08:

It appears that setting 3.1 does not work on many ROMs, the Standard WM popup volume control cannot be enabled. As far as I can tell, HTC removed a service in 1.93 ROMs, which made this feature stop working.

The WM volume control can be enabled with this CAB file (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2718080&postcount=7), is there any way to use this information to fix DiamondTweak?

The vibrate dial pad is excellent.

However, it will be even better if a small vibration can be added for all touching...just like the Omnia.

Most works with my phone, but the one thing I really want, does not work.
Phone sleep. I have the AT&T Fuze/TP. Using stock ROM.
Even when I choose Sleep disable, still goes to sleep while on a call.

I finally got mines to work. I was trying to install the English version. For some reason, the website only sent a file to my computer that was only 214K. However, the file should be around 400 K. If this is your problem, then go back to the site and try to download to your PC the German or another language file but don't install it. If the new file contains around 400 K, then go back to the English file and try to download it again. By downloading a different language, it allowed me to refresh the English file from the website. This worked for me.

I have the Touch HD and everything works fine, but when i activate the Automatic Key Lock and the Background Lgihts turns off automatic and i activate the screen the backlight has not the brightness like before.

If i lock the device with the I/O Button on the Top of the Button and also activate the Screen with the I/O Button it works good.The problem is when the Device switch off the Backlight automatic and then you reactivate the Screen to write a SMS or sth. Backlight is dimmed and not like before.

why it is making changes when closing the application via X rather than OK. It should only make changes when clicking OK.
"Use Clear Text in Landscape Mode" jarbles up the text when using Contacts or text fields
Scrolling with Dpad functionality on all or at least most apps, right now it's not working on everything.
There are certain tweaks which are GSM specific but should either apply to CDMA or not at all since we're on a different network.
Although I think most of the registry tweaks are shared between the Diamond and TP, I have a feeling there are a few which aren't compatible between the two.


These are the ones I can either find or think of. Lemme know what your thoughts are.

Here's a few that come to mind:
why it is making changes when closing the application via X rather than OK. It should only make changes when clicking OK.
For each tweak, the registry modification is immediately effective when you change the value. X or OK doesn't do any action.
"Use Clear Text in Landscape Mode" jarbles up the text when using Contacts or text fieldsThen this tweak should not be activate on TP. I will add a comment in that way.
Scrolling with Dpad functionality on all or at least most apps, right now it's not working on everything.It works on all listed apps !

i do have an off subject question though.. has anyone installed .net 3.5 yet? i ask because when i soft reset i get the black desktop for around 30 seconds before the touch flow 3d starts to load.. anyone see a fix for this?

found a problem.. when im in landscape mode i dont see the suggested words and when i open the contacts to edit in landscape, i lose visibility to the text when i click on that line.. in portrait mode all is well

I've had a couple of messages with the author of the wonderful Diamond Tweak. He has been very good at responding and seems genuinely interested in what we want.

I prompted this conversation because of my interest for porting this over to the Touch Pro as well. I think it's mostly there but I know that a lot of people would be interested in these answers as well as expressing interest to have a Touch Pro version of this application.

Hi guys.

Having some problems :(

First and foremost the Sleep option (disabled) does not work. Thus the phone screen goes off during a call.

Secondly, when I set the alarm the window does not show. Therefore the alarm rings and I get the bell icon on the taskbar, however, I don't get the window from where I can dismiss or snooze.

Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm afraid I've screwed up my setting on 18.6. Yes, I saw your warning about not changing it if my provider was not on the list, but unfortunately, to see what's on the list, one has to open the drop-down list box. Not seeing my provider listed, I meant to leave it blank but selected "[FR] SFR Vodaphone" by accident (my stylus must have hit the wrong choice).

I saw your response to another reader in message #245 in this thread... am I correct in assuming that 18.6 controls the following three values under "HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS"? Namely, the values "Network", "GPRSConnection", and "ServerURL"?

I'm also assuming that DiamondTweak set those values as follows:

Network = "WAP SFR GPRS"
GPRSConnection = "WAP SFR GPRS"
ServerURL = "geoloc2.sfr.fr"

Is it correct then that in order to restore my device to its former state, I have to find out what those values were originally, probably from another Fuze owner?

Please let me know if any of my assumptions are incorrect.

If anyone reading this can tell me what the original values for the Fuze were (you'd have to look in your registry), I'd sure appreciate it.

I'm trying to troubleshoot some issues I'm having with my GPS on my Alltel Touch Pro and am hoping you guys might be able to answer some questions about the Diamond Tweak tool.

1. When Diamond Tweak is installed, is anything changed automatically? Meaning, if you install it and don't change any of the settings, are there still items such as registry settings that may still be changed just because you installed it?

2. When uninstalling Diamond Tweak, does it just uninstall the program or do all the registry tweaks which were done (both by selection and the ones done just due to the install... if any are done) go back to factory default values?

The reason I'm asking the above is the GPS was working pretty good on my phone (4th one!) for the first couple days then I've been unable to get a lock since then. Using GPS Test I can get maybe one sat in the green but normally it is in the yellow. Sometimes I can get a couple but I can't even recall the last time I was able to get enough to produce an actual lock and make it so I could use the GPS. I've done the QuickGPS and everything else.

The only thing I can think of that I did at the same time the GPS quit working was to install Diamond Tweak on my Alltel Touch Pro. I did not adjust any of the GPS settings in Diamond Tweak other than to tag photos with GPS data. I'm just trying to narrow down to see IF this could have "tweaked" a setting on my Alltel Touch Pro that affected the GPS in a negative way. I've since tried to uninstall Diamond Tweak to see if the GPS would start working again but no dice... but then I wouldn't expect just an uninstall to work if the uninstall on removes the program and doesn't put the registry settings back to the way they were.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have the Touch Pro and it is hard to pick up a call before it stops ringing. :( I really wish someone could help with this issue!!!!!!! Alltel has extended ring to max.

Montecristoffon, first off....thank you very much for this app!! I really enjoyed using your Kaisertweak on my tilt!

Although this new app is awesome, I would like to ask for a few possible tweaks.
First off, could you put in a tweak for the option of the sliding keyboard to stay asleep upon opening? Just in case it opens slightly in a pocket or purse it won't wake and inadvertently do undesirable things.

Second, how about adding the "start menu" into the existing tweak for remapping for the soft keys? I can't stand having to stretch my thumb across to the top of the screen just to miss the start menu with the edge of my thumb. That would essentially add the missing hardware buttons that the tilt and other phones have for the start menu.

These would be awesome tweaks if you could implement them into Diamondtweak. If not, a big thanks is still in order for your hard work! THANKS :)

After installing this app even without doing any SETTINGS just opened and closed it when I goto landscape mode any type of text input screen displays weird characters?

Thank you, mcentreville! I'm going to hard reset my phone probably today. My GPS hasn't worked AT ALL for over a week now and some other "odd" things happening with the phone.

I'm going to leave this app off (even though very cool) for a bit and get some back-up software. If no problems for a week or so I might try to re-install and see if the problems come back up. Could be an issue between this program and the Alltel Touch Pro and this should help narrow it down.

I get the EXACT same thing. It seems those modes were disabled by HTC because of bugs in the Camera application. Hopefully a newer ROM will fix that.

@dpittman I too have a fuze and since I haven't installed DT yet I can only be of so much assistance. If DT is similar to KT then their should be a xml file located nearby. If you open that up it should show you pretty much the guts of the app. Search for the tweak of 18.6. It should display all the reg values it changes. I could be wrong. However I do have the keys that you needed.

Network = "MEdia Net"
GPRSConnection = "MEdia Net"
ServerURL = "h-slp.mnc410.mcc310.pub.3gppnetwork.org"

And yes it is MEdia Net

@bfranker Not quite sure if this is the problem you are having but limited gps is usually caused by A-GPS being turned off. Not sure if that helps at all or whether or not you got it fixed but if you don't want to use DG to change it, there may be an option in your phone to do so. Check under Settings:System:GPS. It may be different from my phone as I have a fuze but it's worth a shot. Let me know if this helps.

@rjmjr69 I had that problem when I first got my phone. Apparently on the Diamonds, there is a problem with the ClearType. Try disabling it and see if that fixes your problems. If that doesn't work let me know and I will try and replicate your problems on my phone and let you know what is specifically causing it.

@Monte I bet you have been hard at work on trying to meet everyone's demands and dealing with real life issues. I recall you said that you had wanted to make a Touch Pro version and that you wanted a registry dump. If you don't have one yet, I'm willing to provide you with one and also assisting you in testing the tweak. Unfortuneately I can only understand English and I have an AT&T Fuze. Any help I can be would be of no burden on me. Love your work so far and haven't even used it yet. Please keep up the good work. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Potential bug?

When I choose the WM Dialer pad option it gets rid of my Call History filters like the one's below in the pic - so I have no call history filters:

If I choose the default Diamond dialer pad, it restores the filters but my volume doesn't work with the speaker phone option on.

That was the original intent to choose WM Dialer pad - to be able to adjust speaker phone volume.

Here's the 0.5.3 version in Dutch. Took me a big part of the afternoon but the translation is a lot better than the 0.5 version. That translation was crappy as hell!

Using XBmod Manila Rhodium cab, I can not assign the Home Right Softkey (14.5) to Programs. If Programs is selected, the Camera is what is displayed and functions instead. Is there a way to correct this?

Only thing I have a problem with is the volume tweak has no effect whatsoever. This might be because I have a gsm phone and maybe you've set this up as CDMA?? This is known to has issues.
