Come on, you are not addicted to flashing your phone yet? If we don't flash at least once a week we get withdrawals. Just jump in and flash. There will always be a newer version down the road anyways.
Read about UC and you will never be down for more than the 15 or so minutes needed to flash (with time allowed for UC cabs to run). You can flash five times a day like some of us
P.S. This comment is really directed towards the lionelking.

dcd1182,
I noticed in your screenshots you have PRL 60613. The latest one I know of 60711. Is there any reason either is better than the other? If someone had one versus another, is there any reason to "upgrade"? (if it even would be considered upgrading)
(note: I no nothing about PRL, but was just curious about why you did not have the latest one)
60711 is not the latest...
607xx PRL's are for their data cards, 606xx are for phones.
60613 came out much more recently than 60711, actually.

thanks for the new rom dcd. i have done more number of flashes than number of calls on my phone in the last couple of days.
i notice one thing, by using the default dialer (by unchecking both the vogue and the titan dialer in the kitchen), i got 2 more mb of ram at boot up, which come out to about 27.10 mb with claunch running in the today screen. very impressive.
edit: shoot, during a call and under the "call status" menu, the speaker phone button is not there and replaced with call history button. anyway to remap this button to the speaker phone option? perhaps a registry hex?
I have to say, this is a great find. I unchecked both dialers in the kitchen and installed a dialer from a cab and it works great. I've still got the 2 extra mb versus cooking the Vogue dialer in. No lost functionality either (911 and smart dialing still work) and no funky text issues.
This is the dialer I am using. It is similar to the DCD Vogue, except it has a blue box instead of whitish. Also, the Speaker button is replaced with Call History, but that's not a deal breaker.

1. What purpose does the PRL serve?
2. Do I have anything to gain from switching from 60711 to 60613?
I have been using 60711 for over a week with no issues. I got it from http://corolada.com/prl/ and was half-way assuming that the higher number meant later release since the dates seemed to increase as the numbers increased and the 606xx were in the same group as the 607xx. unfortunately the dates for the 60613 and 60711 are listed as unknown on that page.

Thanks for the replies, I am aware of UC, but I'm just too lazy to learn. I have my flashing down to a science/art I'm just saying skipping a version wouldn't hurt. I can wait for 3.2.4 if it's going to be ready soon.

The sdconfig stuff took me only a few minutes to write up. This installed all of my cabs automatically. UC (especially the cab commands) are so easy and quick to do, it is really not funny.
XML and file copying takes a little more finesse, but took me a day to get right.
Let me know and I will help you get setup for your cabs 2B installed via UC.

as soon as i try to install htc home in 3.2.3 it crashes when it trys to load htc home. then if you perform a soft reset it crashes when it loads up the today screen. i tried going down to 3.2.2 and it performed in the same manor. so some change from 3.2.0 to 3.2.2-3 has done something to htc home, or at least the version i am using.
im using n2a's patched htc home from http://weather.not2advanced.com/files/ is anyone using htc home successfully on 3.2.3 and if so what version? n2a's patched is version 2.1
There's no reason to go that route imo. I answered this earlier in the thread, but I'll repeat it now:
Install HTC Home Customizer after you get data working from a fresh flash (or cook it in a kitchen), then let it download a working version of HTC Home, then customize to your heart's content! :)

What is a PRL? What makes it different from a PRI?
PRL stands for Preferred Roaming List. When roaming it guides the phone to roam in a specific order off of your providers roaming partners.
PRI, from what I found in another thread, stands for "Product Release Instructions" which are "...a group of settings for the various options inside the CDMA radio (things like the carrier name, default SIDs and NIDs, and slot cycle settings). Every CDMA phone comes with a particular version of these settings pre-installed."
Personally, I'm not to sure if the information about PRI is correct, I'm sure someone else can tell if it is of not.

So if the registry key here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2396808&postcount=65) was discovered by you DCD, why is it not activated by default in your ROM? ;) This (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2440135&postcount=236) would also be real nice to have in by default on non-kitchen builds.
And if anybody feels like offering some help with UC/XMLs http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411019

Hi all. Has anyone been able to get MMS to work on Alltel? I have tried this ROM and several from PPCKitchen and have no luck in getting MMS to work. I reflashed to my stock ROM and all is working fine. Verified and reverified the settings with no luck. I loaded a friends xv6800 with a ROM from the PPCKitchen and his worked fine, but he is on Verizon. It seems to be something in the settings for Alltel. I would like to update my phone with WM6.1, but I also want my MMS to work. I hade loaded an earlier ROM both from DCD and PPCKitchen and MMS worked fine. Now it no longer works. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, I've been having intermittent problems with the hard buttons since this release. I seem to notice it with the hard buttons associated with the two soft keys, but maybe that's because they're the ones I use most. I've found that if I press the Start button at that time, it does work regardless, and then the other hard buttons come back to life!

I have been using the vogue camera and didn't even realize it did not have a flash. I tried what you suggested and got it to work right once out of about 50 attempts. I assigned Nilisco to my comm button and it turns on, but when I press the camera button to take a picture it turns off the flash whether you are using flashlight or flashlight30. However, if you time it just right and press the camera button first then the nilisco button immediately after it will be on when the picture snaps. It is finicky at best and not really worth it you need the flash.
Edit: Additional Note: If you turn on nilisco first then turn on the camera nilisco turns off as soon as the camera turns on. You have to turn it on immediately after snapping the picture or the camera program will turn off the flash.

i saw a few people post this problem, but im just gonna base this on my experience.
my wifi on your roms has been intermittent at best, i dont know why, but it just is. i was on the stock rom yesterday and it was working great with wifi, so i was wondering if knew of some way i could get the stock rom drivers into a kitchen to replace the ones you included.
I dont wanna force everyone to go with them, but since they worked fine for me, i want to give it a go. i think you tried this once before, and it did help, and some of your roms give me better reliability than others when it comes to wifi, but the stock rom, is the only one that consistently has it working. (although im never on it long enough to say for sure).
Thanks

I have redownloaded and reflashed 3.2.3 twice now. I still have issues with wifi, as in it shuts off after about 15 seconds, WMWifirouter will not broadcast, cant pick up a network from my laptop, etc..
The only program that seems to keep the wifi alive for any amount of time is Wififofum.
I am sure any issues with the wifi will be taken care of When DCD has time to develop a new ROM.
I cant say thanks enough DCD. And GC too.

Is this on a fresh ROM? I know some programs will change the backlight timeout on you unless you change that program's settings specifically. phoneAlarm is one of those programs.
I've got a Telus P4000 as well and I'm pretty sure GPS works while wifi is on. I'll try it later tonight to make sure.

I posted a quick message in the main forum abt this, but since i have this ROM installed, maybe someone else here has had the same problem.
When trying to sync (only the contacts - email, calendar and tasks syncs fine) thru my exchange server, I am getting error message that there is not enough memory and i need to close some programs and try again. Code#0x8007000E. There is plenty of memory and that is defn not the problem. I have searched and seen others on other phones having the same problem but no real solution.
One person stated that deleting the Temp folder is the problem, but the phone seems to have a temp folder. Help would be GREATLY appreciated cause i am at wits end. Connection settings are defn correct.

Yeah, first, not selecting a dialer in the kitchen can cause the problem where there's no way to use text messaging.
Second, it would not save 2mb of ram.
Third, if you're going to install another dialer, select one from the kitchen first, then install yours over it.
Fourth, the dialer posted a few pages back (HTC Dialer.zip), is a GSM dialer and cripples CDMA functionality regardless of what was posted about it. ## codes do not work, 911 does not work, and it has smart dialing issues. If anyone was to examine the cab, they would clearly see that it was originally made for the Wizard, which is a GSM phone. Use at your own risk.

Ok, so I have been doing a little research and wlan functionality has been missing on my device since 3.2.2 and I have been needing it lately. My research involves the only thing that seems to turn on the wifi radio, and that is Wififofum. If I run that in the background, WMWifirouter and my wlan all seem to work perfectly. I am posting this as I speak from WMWR connected laptop.
If any body has issues with the wifi try running wififofum in the background then using your wireles client. Maybe it is just me, but it just works now.
I ask, because wififofum is supposed to be a "sniffing" program, is this a driver issue? My wifi radio physically works, turning the slide switch on gives me the wlan icon but there is no radio function until wififofum is running.
Interesting stuff to me, I am just happy to be able to work around an issue by myself (pat myself on the back)

there was some truth to it. 2mb might be a stretch, but it saves more than 1mb. it shouldn't though:
there is a service included in the phonecanvas packages that provides some cdma functionality, it should be in its own package to provide the same functionality to the wm6 dialer. i only recently realized you guys were building with no dialer and i made a couple changes to support that, but forgot about the service.
phonecanvas takes ~1mb ram (it does a little more than just a dialpad skin)
phoneext_service takes ~600k maybe.
so in 3.2.4 i have moved phoneext so as to include it even without phonecanvas. text messaging works, but the difference in ram is not as large.

Sure hope so. I couldn't install a different CDMA dialer with 3.2.2 because it conflicted with the one included in the ROM. Being able to strip that skin out of the ROM should allow 3rd party dialers to be installed and work correctly.

I ask, because wififofum is supposed to be a "sniffing" program, is this a driver issue? My wifi radio physically works, turning the slide switch on gives me the wlan icon but there is no radio function until wififofum is running.
Interesting stuff to me, I am just happy to be able to work around an issue by myself (pat myself on the back)
I am not having any issues with WiFi. I slide the hardware switch on and connect immediately to my wireless and use PIE to surf away. If I bring up wififofum it shows my AP and my neighbors right away. I also have the GPS turned on and works perfectly. I think someone else had the issue off not being able to have both WiFI and the GPS on at the same time. Seems to work for me.

Do you have an idea how to solve an issue with DRM (QPST does not work with 3.2.2/3.2.3, maybe because port for DRV is not DAG1: but COM8:) ?
I hope with 3.2.4 it will be possible to use QPST :)
this was in phonecanvas and has now been moved, but could you test it for me:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\DMRouter]
"OutputPortName"="DAG1:"
"KeyType"=dword:5
either import that reg or flash with a phonecanvas package selected, and tell me if QPST works for you.
i think this is what you mean, because the DAG1 port is defined in OEMDrivers and has always been there.

Greetings. I currently have 3.2.3 installed. As I was reinstalling my programs, the device mysteriously began to "lock" when I powered down. I'm forced to click unlock (lower left corner) when I power back up. I checked the notification queue and I could not find an entry for locking. I've never experienced this before, and I installed nothing out of the ordinary. I did not catch when it happened (i.e., what I installed immediately beforehand). I'm probably missing something obvious.
Someone else had a similar problem in May, but no one posted a solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394250&highlight=unlock
Any advice would be appreciated.
UPDATE and SOLUTION: I've confirmed I'm an idiot. I had the "device lock" feature activated in the settings of PhoneAlarm.

anyone having trouble importing reg files with Resco registry editor with DCD 3.2.3?
im using the same version, same installation, and same configuration as i did in 3.2.0 but i can't seem to import reg files...either by clicking on them or choosing import in the registry editor. Im using the latest version 7.03
anyone else having this problem? is this a compatibility issue with 3.2.3?

I can't get ## codes to work with the dialer DCD included in the ROM. Is a fix around?

I noticed this today too...thought I was picking some kinda interference or a poor connection. Looked at my screen and saw that i was receiving a second call but call waiting sounded weird at first. no really a problem but it was weird
ALSO...about the Vogue dialer...i use to be able to just copy new dialer skins into the windows directory and WALLA new dialer skin...did this all the way up to 3.2.0 but i can't copy the files anymore...files cant be replaces cause there part of the ROM(?)

my DRM and QPST work fine. i reapplied the GPS fix last night after coming from stock to 3.2.2. you updated the drivers and everything for QPST right?
I'm using qpst 2.7 build 264 and mogil drivers (HTC diagnostic interface & HTC usb modem) are the same that I use from march (my first day with mogul).
In "HTC diagnostic interface" in file oem38.inf I have "DriverVer=01/05/2007,2.0.3.3"
Do I need some updated driver version?

If you don't want to flash just to add the dialer, this touch dialer uses a directory in the root called phoneskin. So you can just drop the files there.
Also, you could just do some registry edits to change the target directory. You would have to change the target file of each button. I find it easier to just install the cab, but if you'd rather do it manually, you can find it here:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin

Actually what you stated is not necessary / not true. The directory where dialer images are stored is the \Windows Directory.
You don't need to install other dialers in order to skin the Vouge dialer provided in DCD's kitchen. All you would have to do is find a Dialer Skin CAB that works for CDMA Touch, or use the images from a GSM Vouge phone.
The reason why people are having issues skinning their dialers is because the Vouge dialer uses extra images. Extra images that the CAB you posted don't have.

hello,
Can someone tell me what I need to do to get my phone back working. Right now Im sitting with a black screen that says No Radio since yesterday. The last thing I did was run a FEB28.exe file that i got from a guy on here that helped me get out of the bootloader menu but I dont know what to do now, can someone help me please?

never heard of FEB28.exe o.O
I would suggest putting a radio and OS on your device.
Step 1 - Go to the Radio 3.42.30 thread and download it, put it on your non SDHC card renamed to TITAIMG.nbh, go to bootloader by holding camera and power while pressing in the soft reset button with your stylus tip. Then press the power button when it prompts.
Step 2 - Download dcd's ROM on this thread and do the same as above with the .nbh file in RUU folder.
Step 3 - Install your carrier cab, also in the first post of this thread.
Presto!

Extract the zip and put the files into the \windows directory. Using a registry editor... attempt to import the MyBack.reg file. I used CeRegEditor to get it all installed. Then soft reset. You should be able to see the Slider Sounds under the Settings window.
The files I zipped up are found in DCD's Kitchen. If you look under OEM... you'll see the HTC Sliding sounds directory. The e***.rgu file is the registry settings needed. Just copy all those files.... make a copy of the rgu file and rename it as an reg file.... then you will be good to go. That's if you don't trust my Zip file that I did all this for you. :D... I'm not good enough to create a CAB that does this without any hands on. Maybe somebody can create that from what I posted.:D

I did the 3.42.30 radio / dcd 3.2.3 update / Verizon Carrier Cab. Works wonderfully!!
My Question is that when a new update comes out, every time I flash the new rom, will I have to call Verizon and get a new A-key? What I've googled and read wasn't very clear. I know they will be suspicious if I call every other day. LOL

No. You needed the new A-key when you went from a non-GPS radio to a GPS radio. Once on a GPS radio, you can install newer radios and ROMs with no problem. But, if you decide to go back to a non-GPS radio, you will have to call them to get a new A-key.

Correct. You can create your own ROM from the DCD kitchen and not have to worry about Verizon. But, yes, you will lose all of your data. Installing a new ROM also does a hard reset which removes all data from the device. There are some programs out there that will save registry settings and automatically install programs for you.

I think that had to do with the early DCD ROMs which had some Sprint customizations in them. I started using DCD ROM 3.2.2 and have never had any customizations run or had to stop the update before any customizations ran. There shouldn't be any problem. At least, I haven't had any problems. I guess there is a problem with DCD's latest version 3.2.4 in regards to the GPS. I would hold off until a fix for that issue is found. Of the three versions I have installed so far, 3.2.4 seems to be the best.

I flashed the 3.2.3 kitchen last night and then ran the vzw cab (from the 1st post on here), everything worked except the internet. I tried everything, even running the previous vzw cab I had, still no luck. I keep getting the username/password is incorrect error. I called vzw and they gave the username & password, it didn't work. ;( I never had to input that data before.
Any ideas short of reflashing the dcd?
hmm... I had that problem after doing the kitchen. Once I noticed internet missing... I did the VZW Cab.... and then dialed *228 with option 2. Internet is working fine. :D

Thanks for the tip nitro. I had tried option 1 before, but never option 2 (roaming). I gave opt 2 a try, but once again no good. :(
I think it's back to reflashing. Any thoughts on which is better -the kitchen or the rom?
Thanks to everyone who contributes. This place is the best!

Sorry that didn't help. I did the Kitchen.... then did the VZW cab... and then did both the *228 with 1.... then *228 with 2. No problems. Of course... it always errors on me when I have the USB cable plugged in. I don't want it going through the computer.

Hello everyone; and again, THANK YOU DCD!
1- I've "successfully" flashed the 3.23 ROM (w/proper Radio) and installed the US Cellular .CAB, problem is that now I can't access the EPST settings! I input the ##778 but the dialer screen just flashes white and returns to normal. I've updated via *228, I'm able to make and receive calls, texts, Internet etc., but my provider is displayed as CelSouth and I can't access the EPST screen to edit my back-up info. Anyone experience this? Any advise, or thread that can help?
2- I very much appreciate, and like, this new ROM, but discovered that the voicedialer was disabled (or committed). How can I add it back onto the phone (while keeping this ROM, of course!)? Is there a better option (software)? I've DL'd DCD's kitchen, but frankly, I do not know where to start with it; any suggestions on this?
Thank you all in advance for your time and help.

I had a similar issue, ##778 came up, but QPST couldn't talk to the phone, I ended up flashing an older rom, 3.1.x and wrote the data back with QPST and then updated to a later rom. Once the QPST data is written back, flashing roms does not appear to overwrite the EPST data. So try an older DCD rom reprogram it with QPST and then update, should work for you.

I'm on USCC as well.

I think I saw this once before on one of the forums, but can't seem to find it now. I wanted to change the bootup screen's image. It currently shows the "test use only" on bootup. I found the the start up animation in the kitchen, but not the image itself. Does anyone know how to change this image?
I found it in the wiki... I knew I saw it somewhere!

Thanks BTC, I'll give it a shot. Heck, I've already reflashed 6 times today... lol. Might as well make it 8! Thanks for saving me some time too; I was about to see if I could access it with QPST and re-write from there w/o having to flash... guess not. BTW, I saw your earlier post where DCD gave you an original USCC ROM Dump; How the heck do you use it? I downloaded it and the files were associated w/PowerISO but I know they're not ISO images. How did you, or can one, reflash those files. USCC is sending me a new phone (Heck if I know why... they said that mine had possible Hardware problems which caused a lot of dropped calls-prior to any flashing- but I'm not complaining!) I have to send the old one back though, and they'll charge me for the new one if they find any "problems"; so, I'd like to flash the original ROM back. You figure this out yet? I'm flashing the new one to DCD's when I get it, and would like to make a back-up original just in case!

From sources I trust implicitly, at the moment there is no way to go back to factory. The radio and rom they use are so old, I don't believe there are any tools that would let you replace the old radio and bootloader. Also the roms floating around are direct rips from the phone, they haven't been put into a form that is reflashable. This of course is all subject to change if someone took the time probably, but based on the age of the roms, I doubt most will waste their time. Until USCC releases a user flashable rom (doubtful), updating the phone is a 1 way street.
I'm sure whoever your phone is being sent back to, will have their "private" rom image that they can flash it back to, and as long as the problem occurred prior to you updating the phone, hopefully they won't give you to many problems. If they do, just explain that you were attempting to resolve it on your own without the need to replace it, and only had their best interest at heart..... hey, it can't hurt. Tho I wouldn't say a thing to them about it unless they ask.

Well, I guess that is that. I'll take your advise and bull my way through it if confronted about it; It's going back to "tech world", not the retail store. Considering that the rep offered that unprompted solution, 5 min. into the conversation, and after I requested a reprogramming of the phone... lol, I'm starting to doubt that it'll be scrutinized that much! Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to flash the new phone until I can get a stable ROM/CAB that won't screw up EPST! I've flashed and reflashed(over 7 times) DCD's 3.2.3 w/USCC CAB and disabling the Dialers; nada!! I've tried no2chems 5067... zippo!! I'm going to try your solution here in a bit; hopefully that'll do it. Thanks again for your help.

how do i enable the sms threading?
If you installed this version... by default it is already setup. If not... there are a few registry hacks to get it re-enabled....
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\SMSInbo xThreadingDisabled=0
I believe that's it. I will dig further if that doesn't do it.
Edit: This value isn't even in my phone. If you have... HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\SMSInbo xThreadingDisabled=1 .... then delete SMSInboxThreadingDisabled.

there are different MMS cabs for each carrier. before you install MMS or anything else, you should upgrade your phone to 3.2.5. if youre using verizon, you can use the Archsoft MMS available in another thread (which is currently being posted in so its right on the main page)
upgrade your rom first. install your carrier cab. reboot. install an MMS cab. reboot.

2 things.
1) 3.2.3 is now surpassed by 3.2.5. Get it here. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413039)
2) There is an awesome Wiki HERE (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanRecentHome) that tells you step by step how to flash your phone.
My thoughts are that you have not flashed the bootloader / Radio / Rom properly. Start from scratch with the Hard-SPL 2.40 from Olipro. Also, the latest radio is linked on the Wiki page above. 3.42.50.

I wanted to also add that I could not get my GPS to work to save my life when running DCD 3.2.4. I flashed to this ROM 3.2.5 and it came to life like a champ. So for those with a GPS issue, I can only suggest that you get to 3.2.5 and that may very well do it. I am getting the best performance in my home that I have ever gotten with Self Contained GPS units, HOLUX Pucks from PALM, AMBICOM BT GPS unit and several others. Very impressed.
I cannot thank enough DCD, GC and the other regulars who spend their time and energy helping us in this Forum. A great bunch of guys and I for one appreciate your efforts tremendously.
Thanks!

Should work right after flashing. Google Maps, Live Search, TomTom7, etc. Always has on my P4000 anyway.

If this is your first flash of the phone, then it's normal for the phone to not boot after updating the BL. If the phone won't communicate via USB, then copy the nbh file to your SD card, rename is to TITAIMG.NBH and then go back into BL, it will then flash your radio, repeat the same for your rom file and it will flash your ROM. Once this is done your phone should be up to date and everything should work.

*228 brought up Verizon ok? But when you make calls, you get the "Authentication error" ? You may have to call them for a new A-key. Just tell them you had to do a hard-reset because you loaded a bad program, and your phone won't work. They will get you a new A-Key over the phone.

Thank you sooo much. This was my first try at this stuff. I thought that I messed up my phone but all is working again and my volume on the phone is much better. Using the same rom and radio as you are. 3.2.5 and 3.42.5. Thanks again.
Verizon just had me do *228 again and then it works fine.
I noticed that when I go internet now it does not dial Verizon any more. But it works fine. Are they still seeing my data usage??

If you are browsing the Internet with the phone not connected to USB... then it is going through #777. To verify... go to settings, Connections, Connections, Advanced... and under Verizon Wireless.. select Edit. It should say #777 as the number... when you click next through a couple screens... it asks for a username, password, and domain. Username = "Phone#" @vzw3g.com. Password = vzw. Leave the Domain field blank. Go to taskmanager and end task Internet Explorer if it is open. Then open it up again. Also, you may have already had a data session open.
BTW... I just upgraded to 3.2.6. :D

I upgraded my ROM with the UTStar Verizon, Windows Mobile 6.1 flash and I'd like to be able to use GPS apps that isn't $9.99/month from Verizon.
My Specs in Device Infor are:
ROM Version: 3.57.605.1
ROM Date: 7/21/08
Radio Version: 3.37.75
PRL Version: 51056
PRI Version: 2.03 002
ESN:36D6593D
ERI Version: 0
As I said, I'm on Verizon, can somebody PLEASE walk me through the steps to update ROM to a stable version allowing me to activate the gpsOne chip?
I am weary of trying anything on my own because I do not want to make my device useless if I screw up, haha.
Thanks in advanced all.

There is no easy fix now. Installing that rom pretty much locks you into the verizon utilities, if you are faint of heart.
You CAN do it, but you won't be hand-held through the process in much more detail than what is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421143
It's up to you whether or not you are comfortable enough with the steps to follow them.

Actually, I've got a solution that works for GPS for the MR1 ROM. However, it would be good to have someone test it who has never had VZ Navigator on their account. (There have been no takers so far on that.)
Feel free to drop me a PM if you are on MR1 and have never enabled VZ Navigator on your account and would like to give me a hand in testing.
