Hard-SPL 2.XX (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=30561) is REQUIRED.
A device with SPL 1.20-olipro will constantly reboot with this rom!

NO RADIO IS INCLUDED. RADIO 1.XX, 2.XX, and 3.27 ARE NOT COMPATIBLE!!

The only big problem I'm having is that I can't get Opera 9 Mobile to cook in the kitchen. It keeps giving me an error "\dump\setup.dll" already exists.

when making an OEM, if your source cab contains setup.dll:
you need to export registry before and after installing the cab
compare registry exports to find your differential
this becomes your .rgu
remove setup.dll

i dont deny some mentioned problems, but i havent had keyboard issues all the way back to 3.0.4. for me at least, im having pretty bad keyboard lag with 3.2.3. ive only had it on 2 hours, but so far its hanging really bad and 3 times so far, its like the keyboard driver isnt even present because its not showing up on the button.

you mean the SIP keyboard? the driver i replaced only affects the physical keyboard.

nope i didnt realize that. i will fix it in the next release.
windowslive package after 19214 does not connect via cdma data - i've had to include a custom windowslive package and i guess i never made the shortcuts.

Thank you DCD. My Titan had been working too well on 3.2.2 and was getting boring. Now with a new version to flash, I can at least do something tonight other than just USE my phone.

I'm new to flashing my phone, so, I have a noob question I'm sure.

I read the Wiki, didn't see it mentioned, but, I just flashed my phone for the first time using 3.2.2. To flash it with this rom, I have to go through the SPL, Radio, and Rom again, correct?

Also - For my first flash, I forgot to do the Radio, and I tried to do it last.. and It wouldn't let me. Once I do the SPL, I should then do the Radio.. then the Rom, correct

As long as it is unlocked you just use the EXE Rom and run the Carrier Cab. No need to do the radio.

Did the pre-built ROM work for you? For dcd's last kitchen, I had this problem using the kitchen but it worked fine if I used the pre-built ROM. The interesting thing is that I am no longer having this problem with 3.2.3... I was just coming on here to thank dcd for clearing up the issue for me. Hope you get yours working too.

Everything works fine so far. Updating from a modified 3.0.0

Made a couple modifications and it is working well so far. I just need to install GC's mms cab and see if that works.

Right after installing the radio and ROM built from the kitchen I was able to place and receive calls and send/receive txt's.

Works fine on dcd 3.2.0.

its probably not going to work again until the skype folks compile a new version. i had to go to the wm61 kernel eventually - its actually been broken since sprint ROM 3.49, but i hadnt updated the kernel.

Hi DCD,

Just upgraded from DCD 3.2.2 to DCD 3.2.3 and so far I'm very impressed. Roughly ~2MB of additional free RAM on soft reset. Overall OS speed feels great.

Is there any downside to letting customization run on a DCD ROM? The wiki doesn't mention anything about it. On my DCD 3.2.2 flash I let customizations run mistakenly and didn't notice any problems.

the customizations on DCD based roms are for using UC (user custimization). there is a link in the second post to tell you how to use UC.

I thought, maybe, I was imagining this, but does it seem that the screen might be less responsive, somehow? Very strange. I find myself having to double tap or rub my stylus on the screen to get a response. The trouble is that I picked up a replacement Titan, today, due to a d-pad problem. So I'm wondering if it may be hardware related. Maybe I'll flash back, tomorrow.

ok ... i FIGURED it all out .. took some time, but anyway, if you don't select a phone canvas in the kitchen, you do get the dialer with the contact list in the middle,

but the side effect is that you cannot use sms. Somehow, SMS is tied to phone canvas. I'm tired, but i'm going to but a kitchen using a the other Titan phone canvas thats in the kitchen.

This used to happen to me on older ROM's but now that I have updated both my ROM and Software for IM Plus I don't get that issue any more.

It is also good to clear your cache and any internet related junk that builds up as you use it.

I installed the HTC Home Customizer earlier today. It DOES install HTC home to your device if it has not already been installed. I recommend letting HTC Customizer download HTC Home; I installed HTC Home v2.0.814.722 before HHC and I lost all functionality of my power button.

I had the same problems with mine, usually my phone is very receptive of cooked roms from DCD but this version gave it indigestion. I had the screen tapping issue and a keyboard issue. I would press keys on the keyboard and it would not respond.

I went back to 3.2.2 which worked fantastic for me!!

can you tell me exactly what OEMs you have added and what buildOS options you are using? I guess I cannot troubleshoot this any further until I can reproduce it. I am able to build including as many or few packages as I like and have no module overlaps (which I'm sure is whats causing your issue)

i have tried many different combinations including leaving it alone and running it as is.

the only oems i like to add are nuetools... nuepackage, nuelight, nueled, nueusb and nuestorage.

*edit: i should add that this is exactly the same oem set i used in the last kitchen with no problem.

i copied the oem folder i used in 3.2.2 and am trying another flash.

i got some of the oems from ppcgeeks buildos and some from basekit from 5067.
perhaps i didn't use all of the same oems this time.

is there an easy way to check for overlaps before flashing?

does 3.2.3 work for you with NO OEMs added? using OEM folder from 3.2.3 not 3.2.2.
If you had previously added OEMs, delete your kitchen folder and extract the whole thing again and try to build as is.

I used the CAB that nanujoe provided.

It does provide weather support but not custom. I installed HTC Home Plugin and then HTC Home Customizer but the Customizer wouldn't work. It gave me an error and just crashed.

I would try getting an older XML file from the HTC Home Plugin that I used in the past and try using it on this version , but when I install that version it causes my phone to freeze.

To tell you the truth I have not gotten any keyboard or a slow response with this ROM.

Everything seems to work well except for the annoying dialer popping up here and there when I exit an application or switch to another.

I had to get around it by installing alt TAB on my phone.

For some reason the wifi on my phone is not working. When I toggle the wifi switch on, nothing happens. I have the latest dcd radio and rom installed. I am just wondering if it is the phone so I can request a warranty exchange. Is anyone experiencing any wifi issues?

I will see on my phone that I have a SMS, and then when I go to Notifications and look at 'New Text Messages' all the settings are blank. I recheck them, Sound, Vibrate, and Display Message on phone. When I periodically go and look at the settings, they are the same. But then I notice that I have a SMS and they are blank again. I had this same issue on 3.2.2 and flashed to 3.2.3 last night to see if it would correct. I haven't seen the issue on the Stock ROMs or 5067, 5069k, 5070pre7. Otherwise, the ROM is great and everything else works.

Quick question...

For some reason the wifi on my phone is not working. When I toggle the wifi switch on, nothing happens. I have the latest dcd radio and rom installed. I am just wondering if it is the phone so I can request a warranty exchange. Is anyone experiencing any wifi issues?

does 3.2.3 work for you with NO OEMs added? using OEM folder from 3.2.3 not 3.2.2.
If you had previously added OEMs, delete your kitchen folder and extract the whole thing again and try to build as is.

no, i have not tested the new 3.2.3 with NO OEMs.
I did test last night with NO OEMs selected other then kitchen ones however I did have some of my OEMs in the folder.

What did work was taking the 3.2.2 OEM folder (With MY OEMs included)
and copying it over to 3.2.3 kitchen. sorry if this doesn't help any.

I will do more testing later.

ok ... i FIGURED it all out .. took some time, but anyway, if you don't select a phone canvas in the kitchen, you do get the dialer with the contact list in the middle,

but the side effect is that you cannot use sms. Somehow, SMS is tied to phone canvas. I'm tired, but i'm going to but a kitchen using a the other Titan phone canvas thats in the kitchen.

I think it asks if you want to uninstall the previous version prior to installation. If not, then just proceed. It's safe.

i was able to get the stock kitchen to work however if I add the OEMs that I had working on 3.2.2 I get the touch screen problem.

I am going to try removing a couple and reflashing but I won't have time to go one by one.

I get about 24 to 25 MB of free RAM on start up. That's with all of my programs installed.

I get great RAM management. Even after closing out WMP or SMS my phone restores most of the memory used. Once I close out all of those programs I get back to 52 to 53%.

The only thing that sucks so far is the dialer popping up and the lack of software support. There are some applications that do not support this new ROM / Kernel.

I saw other people having issues with IM Plus, especially myself. For some reason I couldn't download the newer version straight from the application itself, but I found a direct link to a way newer version than the one I had before.

It's not MS Voice Command. I didn't have that installed and I still got that issue.

I applied that registry change that he suggested and the problem went away after a soft reset.

I have asked this a couple times and never got a full answer.

"Tomorrow I am going to have my Sprint Mogul phone flashed to work on the Cricket network. I just need to understand something. Once this is done is it written to the hardware like a firmware flash? If I remove and install the OS several times am I going to have to go and pay to have the Cricket information flashed on it again? $85 is steep. Right now I am using the DCD ROM 3.2.2, but I may try newer roms in the future. Is there a way I can do this myself? Also will this flash allow the GPS, MMS, and internet work?" Loving this ROM, but I have a minor problem.

I disabled ClearType, but there's still anti-aliasing in text in Pocket Outlook's messages, and in websites in Pocket IE. What do I do?

I can confirm that the screen not working at calibration being an issue with one or more of the nueTools.

Upgraded to dcd 3.2.3 yesterday and love it. Three noticeable improvements on my 6800: 1) Volume is noticeably louder on my bluetooth headset while listening to .mp3 files, 2) Battery seems to be lasting noticeably longer & 3) More memory available... even while running apps.

its probably not going to work again until the skype folks compile a new version. i had to go to the wm61 kernel eventually - its actually been broken since sprint ROM 3.49, but i hadnt updated the kernel.

After re-flashing different Roms about 10 times, I am ready to give up and BEG for help!

HTC Home is interntantly locking my Alltel 6800. It locks and asks for a password, which of course I don't have because I have not set one, so I have to reset. There is also a weird, semi-related back-light problem. The back-light will go to the dimmest setting but I cannot change it because the setting is gone from start-settings-system!!! The icon just disappears!

I have flashed several DCD Roms from 3.0.4 to 3.2.3 and had the same problem with all. It seems to be a conflict with the Alltel carrier cabs. If I run without it, all is well. Of course I do not have data or SMS, so that is not a good option!!! I always use the cab that is released with each ROM, so whatever it is has stayed the same through different versions of the cab.

I have tried several radios from 3.35 to 3.42.30 (which I am currently running).

I can install all of my MANY other apps, but as soon as I add HTC Home it goes right down the crapper! I have tried several versions of HTC Home both with and without the HHC Customizer.

If anyone has suggestions I would GREATLY appreciate it. I hate to run with out Home because have used it for years and can hardly go without it!

I had that problem back in like version 2.x and went back to the standard Verizon ROM and still had the problems. Found that it was a hardware problem and got a warranty replacement.

changing that registry item will not remove or change the 2 line clock and date. i'm not entirely sure why changing this fixes the bug, but all i know is that it does. if you really want to know why, ask DCD or No2Chem.

I have no knowledge of Destinator 6 or 7, but what you describe happens with iGuidance 3 and 4. There is a problem with the Microsoft GPS driver. The answer for me is to run GPSGate ( you can get a demo here - http://www.gpsgate.com/index.php?id=7 ) for the PPC. What GPSGate does is it allows you to create a virtual com port that your software will use and it talks to the MS one. So on my Mogul I setup a virtual Com 2 port and then I have it set to Com 4. I load iGuidance and set it to use Com 2 and it works just fine. If you can't get the setup correct let us know and someone can put up screen shots.

Just thought - If this worked on other Mogul ROMs just not this one, than this may not be your issue, iGuidance does this across the board on my Mogul, whereas I never had an issue on my Axim.

HHC installs the latest working version of HTC Home as long as your data is setup when it runs the first time. The latest PPC Kitchen has HHC in the OEM rar.

This seems to be an intermittent problem. I first experienced it in 3.2.0. I have now seen it reported in the threads for 3.2.2 and here. The fix that seems to work is flashing only the ROM and not using the kitchen.

thanks for the new rom dcd. i have done more number of flashes than number of calls on my phone in the last couple of days.

i notice one thing, by using the default dialer (by unchecking both the vogue and the titan dialer in the kitchen), i got 2 more mb of ram at boot up, which come out to about 27.10 mb with claunch running in the today screen. very impressive.


edit: shoot, during a call and under the "call status" menu, the speaker phone button is not there and replaced with call history button. anyway to remap this button to the speaker phone option? perhaps a registry hex?

I have this same problem, per my new best friend Droo, he says to flash an older rom, then use QPST to restore settings, and then flash 3.2.3 and it should keep your QPST settings.

He said he had the same problem with 3.2.2.

All I know is it worked fine for me. Can't promise you will have same results as I am using US Cellular as my provider.

Did you go into the server settings for your SMS? That is where you need to change both instances of alltel.com to alltel.net. Shoot me an email - info at delewebbcenter.org if you have any questions.

Maybe if you try right-click the BuildNB.bat and running it as administrator it will be able to open the file. It shouldn't be necessary to do that, though. Good luck.

There are registry settings for enabling extended rom- search around here or on ppcgeeks. On the other hand, be aware that if you do it, you won't be able to store email attachments on your storage card. Given the small amount of space in extended rom, its not worth the tradeoff imho.

I come across an odd little problem when I installed 3.2.3. My text messages won't send and give me an error everytime I try. I even attempted to go back to 3.2.2 but not luck. Also have used the carrier cab from 3.2.2 and 3.2.3 and still no luck.

edit: shoot, during a call and under the "call status" menu, the speaker phone button is not there and replaced with call history button. anyway to remap this button to the speaker phone option? perhaps a registry hex?

im pretty sure if you hold the green button down it toggles speakerphone. but without any dialer....do you have any problems with text messaging? i read someone out there swearing that it causes some problem- like duplicate sending or something

can definitely reproduce the start menu problem (it actually happens to some of my today screen plugins too.)

1. i know you said this is clean build, but this notifications problem you are having sounds a lot like the Opera9.5 beta bug....

i think this AKU from the diamond is causing some incompatibility with things like resco explorer, skinning programs, and notifications. i noticed on a clean ROM flash, about 25% of the time it wouldnt let me click on new texts, missed calls, or quickGPS notifications, or even the soft key. and the start menu icon disappears occasionally. 3.2.2 is more stable for me; i dropped down this morning.

Another potential bug, I'm sorry if it was mentioned already....

My boss just sent me an .XLS file and trying to open it now from within Outlook prompts me with: "Cannot open password protected Microsoft Excel workbooks."

There is no password on the file, it is a normal Excel 2003 workbook. I went from 3.2.0 to 3.2.3, so I don't know if this happens in earlier versions or not.

I get a lot of spreadsheets on my phone and I have seen the password issue come up with three different issues:
1. The workbook is a shared workbook and the userid on your phone does not match your desktop/company userid that the spreadhseet is shared with.
2. Your boss had the spreadsheet opened as read-only and sent it to you using File>>Send to from inside Excel.
3. The spreadsheet is one that is password protected for editing and not for viewing and Excel Mobile has a hard time discerning what to do with that.

So it could be one of these.

I think in order to remap the phone buttons, you would need to install a dialer, which would probably make you lose the 2 mb. Also, is this 2 mb as compared to the vogue dialer or the titan dialer? I would imagine one is preferable over the other. I have my own dialer with my kid's pictures, so I won't be trying myself.

that is strange because it was happening for me and my friend and as soon as i found out that opera's latest build 1718 was causing it, we uninstalled and haven't had any issues ever since. i did some registry cleaning too and got rid off and opera folder under application data manually.

I did not have this problem. I used the kitchen and added known good OEMs and dialed *228 and hit the 1 key with no problems. So you are saying once you dial the phone number and it is connected you can't dial any more? Like putting in the password for voicemail would not work? I am still running a DCD 3.2.2 from the Kitchen. I have had this happen to me several times. I did not think it was important and probably something on my side. It does not happen often and I cannot reproduce it. Since I have had this build I don't think it has happened at all in the last week with an average soft reset of once a day. I will try several resets and see if I can force it to happen.

Well there it is. One soft reset later and this problem shows, (still on my 3.2.2 kitchen). On this start I did not touch the device and it went to the S2U2 screen on its time out. I slide the unlock, the Today screen came up, the Start Icon is back.

No on number 1. New MMS and New Text message both have a sound and display checked and has not changed.

Yes on number 2. Thought it weird, but like you said it "fixes" itself once you tap on the menu. I did include HTC X button on both 3.2.2 and 3.2.3 and that might be the culprit. To lazy to reflash without it. :)

I was able to get text to work but was unable to get MMS to work. I have the same problem with the PPCKitchen. I reinstalled my factory ROM and checked MMS and all worked fine. I then loaded DCD 3.2.3 to give it a try but ran into the same issues. I am on Alltel and have a PPC6800. I am now going back to my factory ROM until I can see this problem is fixed in DCD or PPCKitchen. Thanks for the good work. Wish I could upgrade, but I guess I will have to wait for now. :(

You used a backup program right (resco, spb, etc)? That may be your problem (we have been telling you to use UC). reflash with nothing except rom, radio, carrier and arcsoft and retest.

Yeah it seems like if it doesn't work the first time. Download again and flash again. I don't seem to have that problem though as the first time from the kitchen always seems to work perfectly. I do have a problem with the MS Voice command that I have OEM and CABs for. So I have to install after the ROM with the EXE that I actually paid for. If I install the OEM or CAB I can't get the system settings page to come up. It locks up.

That's all I create is a bare rom then cab everything else in. The backup is just PIM backup for my messages and call logs aswell as contacts.

I'm on VZW ... I cooked a new rom with both the Vogue and Titan phone canvases and both work just fine. My problem come up when I do not check a phone canvas (I actually like the phone canvas that has the contacts in the middle .. not sure what the official name of it though)

I believe this is normal, even if you do not use bluetooth and use the speakerphone. You may want to try and duplicate using speakerphone.

I just fixed this issue. My wifi was "broken" also, as in there was no wireless activity from it. Also noticed my device was way laggy. I redownloaded the kitchen, cooked a new rom and all works again. Basically any little quirky problem like this can be fixed by deleting kitchen/rom and re-downloading it and running it again.

PIMBackup will backup all your contacts, etc but if you then sync with an Exchange server you will end up with doubles (that's my experience anyway).

I disabled ClearType, but there's still anti-aliasing in text in Pocket Outlook's messages, and in websites in Pocket IE. What do I do?

I've been using this version for a bit now (Verizon XV6800, using the Verizon .cab and the non-kitchen build), and while it works great, I have a couple of small items that I've noticed:

- The call waiting tone seems to have changed from the last ROM I used (3.1.x) to a hideous sound that I would love to be able to change back to a more gentle beep. ;)

- When closing applications, occasionally, the screen will refresh strangely, leaving bits of the previous app across the today screen which disappear a moment later. Perhaps this is related to the Start Menu button disappearing after a soft reset occasionally?

"Tomorrow I am going to have my Sprint Mogul phone flashed to work on the Cricket network. I just need to understand something. Once this is done is it written to the hardware like a firmware flash? If I remove and install the OS several times am I going to have to go and pay to have the Cricket information flashed on it again? $85 is steep. Right now I am using the DCD ROM 3.2.2, but I may try newer roms in the future. Is there a way I can do this myself? Also will this flash allow the GPS, MMS, and internet work?" Sync first then restore with PimBackup to avoid duplicates...

Choose "add only new and updated" when restoring. That's how I avoid getting duplicates

as soon as i try to install htc home in 3.2.3 it crashes when it trys to load htc home. then if you perform a soft reset it crashes when it loads up the today screen. i tried going down to 3.2.2 and it performed in the same manor. so some change from 3.2.0 to 3.2.2-3 has done something to htc home, or at least the version i am using.

im using n2a's patched htc home from http://weather.not2advanced.com/files/ is anyone using htc home successfully on 3.2.3 and if so what version? n2a's patched is version 2.1

Sync first then restore with PimBackup to avoid duplicates...

Choose "add only new and updated" when restoring. That's how I avoid getting duplicates

Does this keep the ringtones for specific contacts? This is what I was going to try and didn't know about the duplicate issue.

I just fixed this issue. My wifi was "broken" also, as in there was no wireless activity from it. Also noticed my device was way laggy. I redownloaded the kitchen, cooked a new rom and all works again. Basically any little quirky problem like this can be fixed by deleting kitchen/rom and re-downloading it and running it again.

i noticed my wifi may not be working also as someone suggested in another thread, I thought it was but is incredibly slow and must be grabbing EV data (which really seems slow also)

guess I will try redownload and install later, I dont mind reinstalling programs because I dont have too many installed, but I hate retyping my 2 email accounts everytime, anyone know of a way to just export the email account settings and import into poutlook?

My WiFi is also not working properly on the non-cooked ROM. It seems as if the connection drops out unless I have an app using the data immediately (like within a couple seconds) after making the connection. I've tried it on several access points and with all the connection drops out shortly after it is successfully connected.

I havn't had any problems installing HTC home. I just use the V1.0 final From http://www.pocketemu.com/download.html and and follow these steps:

1. Install HTC Home V1.0 final
2. Go to programs and click on HTC Home
3. It will say something about using English and you say OK
4. It will say it needs to download the HTC Plugin which you say OK.
5. Installation will take a bit and then the HTC home options menu will pop up. Choose your options.
6. OPTIONAL - I download the "Appearance" package from the above website and through activesync i navigate to "\Program Files\HTC Home Customizer\FILES" area and copy in all the appearance files. These are MUCH cooler than the ones it comes with.

I've done this on almost every ROM since the 2.x era and now i have 3.2.3 with the new radio and it still works great.

I just want to compliment you on all of your work. I tried using No2Chem's latest bleeding edge preview (his prev 8) to see what all the fuss is about on ppcgeeks. He's got some cool tweaks and drivers in there, but the entire rom is jerky and lags a lot. I've never felt that with your roms and am about to flash to 3.2.3.
I tried to download the Alltel cab but the link is down. Are there new updates coming out today?

I believe this is normal, even if you do not use bluetooth and use the speakerphone. You may want to try and duplicate using speakerphone.

Actually this is a Registry entry. it changed on the new roms, but is easy to fix yourself

UnattendedPlayback = 0

change that to 1 and it will continue to play, had the same problem myself.

I updated to this rom and can't get gps to work. I have done the phone and external gps settings but the gps will not come on with any of the primer programs. am I missing any registry tweeks.

Yeah I tried both my OEM and your OEM and both seem to lock up the phone when selecting the settings menu. Once I install the EXE then the phone works again.

I noticed in your screenshots you have PRL 60613. The latest one I know of 60711. Is there any reason either is better than the other? If someone had one versus another, is there any reason to "upgrade"? (if it even would be considered upgrading)

anyone know how to get nueWifiSwitch (or equivalent program) working on a dcd rom? I extracted the oem from nueRom 5770-pre 8 and cooked it into dcd 3.2.2 but it did not work correctly - the off worked but not the on. Or if there is another program that does the same thing can you reply with its name?

nueWifiSwitch for those who don't know is a program that allows customization of the wifi hardware switch. I like using it for on = ringer on and off = vibrate. With an unlimited data plan there's really no need for wifi for me.
