What microSD card did you use? Please be informed the SDHC card are not recognised by device during SDloade stage. You must use not SDHC card.
Maybe this is the reason of flashing fail?!?

You may repeat flashing any time. Until you are able to get the SDloader you are able to flash it again.

Good luck.

very bad situation.
most likely modem FW with bootloader messed up.

call support and replace it.
or try to find out how to reflash the rom using jtag. A good start would be to find out where the 5 jtag connection points are at the 61x.

let me know if you found it out. i was not successful.

I am trying to gather as much information as I can before I decide to flash my iPAQ 612c as I 've never done it before.

I came across the following information, I hope it can help someone. I think its possible to recover from a failed rom update.

There is a fair bit of reading and searching involved. Please note I have not executed any of these steps but I think it might be worth it.

http://www.pocketpcaddict.com/forums/hardware/16088-how-fix-your-ipaq-after-unsuccessful-rom-upgrade.html

you can read more here and download the romupdate.zip it contains the
Multi-port/USB TTY utility mentioned
http://discuss.pocketnow.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14619

let me know if it was helpful.

Hello all!
I had similar situation - my notebook crashed during ipaq (614c) ROM update. I tried to run upd utility several times without success (stops still on the same percent with error like this: "Code 402: cannot communicate with device") and 'course I almost gave up. I decided to run upd utility last time but now with SDloader "ON" (voice com+mute+powerOn). And this was success, upd ended with no error, and I got my ipaq back - running!
