Hi,

for changing the theme of TouchFlo3D you need Diamond TF3D Config (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749) version 0.6.7 or higher! Please do not use old themes anymore!

Works with the following ROMs:

All ROMs based on 1.37 and TouchFlo3D 1.0.1630.23
All other versions not tested! Please let me know if it works on other versions!
Not work on:

All ROMs which not have TF3D included (You can change theme, but you can't use the restore-function!)
All 1.93 ROMs
Installation instructions:
Download attached zip-file
Extract the zip-file on your PC
Connect Diamond with Active Sync!
Create a new directory "Themes" on the Internal Storage (4 GB) of your Diamond or use any other folder
Copy the extracted theme-file to "Internal Storage\Themes" or any other folder
Disconnect Diamond from PC
Run Diamond TF3D Config
Change theme and have fun! :-)

The theme will be copied to the windows-directory! ;-)

Only the *.theme-files have to be on your 4 GB internal storage. I've chosen this way, because we don't have enough free space on the built-in storage ;)

They are the same...

But: If you delete all *_manila-Files in your windows-folder you got your orignal files - because they are stored in the ROM and they will automatically restored.

In next release I want to implement a function to "restore" the original files - that means my app will delete all *_manila-files and after soft-reset you have your original files.

Hi Guys

I have an oragne Diamond and thought i would try the orange theme provided here. I went though the processes and the files started to install but then it stopped at file 257 (mp4 decoder .dll) and said fininshed,,, so the phone restarted and now i have the orange branded tabs but all the rest is the orginal HTC black theme. Am i doing something wrong?

I am using the TLR ver3 rom and the TouchFLo3d verison included in the rom.

For everyone with this problem;

One 'bug', when I change theme when there are unread mails (I had 1 unread mail), the lowest possible number is 1 unread mail. Couldn't get rid of it.

When sending 2 new mails, it goes to 3 unread mails.

Yes, just replacing the graphic-fiels doesn't work. You need also the luac-files and xml-files.

Maybe you need not all files, but it makes no different, if you copy 800 or 900 files ;-)

1.: Which ROM do you use?
2.: Are the DLL-Files, which make problem on changing the theme, allready exist in your ROM?
3.: Do you have enough of free space (10-20 MB) ?

sushi, I am experiencing problems on apply the themes (all of them): Every theme I apply it copies nearly all the files but stops on 1 (apparentely random) in the last 100. Obiouvsly the themes do not appear to be complete after installation (there are elements from the last installed one).

The TF3DConfig is installed on the internal storage and so are the themes. I have even tried closing manila before applying the themes but it still beahaves same way. Maybe I don't have enough storage ? Could you please put a specific error message for this case ?

EDIT: Forgot to say I am using the lite V2 rom diamond project.

Hi, I tested the the Themes with no luck on: Toms lite V2, and bElite 0.95 Roms.

I've no themes in the dropdown menu. Even after renaming the folder or copying to Windows, Internel Storage.

Delete all *_manila files in windows directory (witch Total Commander), then you have automatically your defaul theme, because it is stored in the rom.

.. huh. I am pretty sorry, but you program seems to be a bloody program to me !

Weel. I first installed the program, i had you "registery error" that I fixed by deleting your file tweak.xml in the folder. The value of the key was good for me.

Then, I experimented some problems have the themes in the program, finally I got it. Applied the Black HTC theme, and there asked for reboot.

Rebooting.. the phone asked me to click it if I want to launch TF3D. I clicked, but nothing happened. Then, i wanted to launch your program to restore it, and your program had another new error : (it's the translation)" An error message cannot be displayed because an optionnal assembly ressource can't be found."

An idea? It's pretty annoying !!

Aftert deleting all the *_manila files, my home page had nothing on it. No clock, no calendar, etc.
I re-loaded the HTC black theme. I'm not that bothered abt that 20MB used up, but my TF3D has slowed down tremendously. It's not jerky, but the fade in/out takes quite a bit of time. I believe it's something to do with the settings.

Do you think you can figure out whats the prob? I'm using SwitfBL2.0 ROM and it'll be nice if I can get it back up to speed.

I've tried all themes on walshieau's Elite 3.0 and they all work fine. No problems whatsoever. Tried changing back and forth between them, used all Tabs, hid some tabs with TF3D config, etc and all is good.

Some of the ROMS are setup with manill as a CAB so that you can uninstall it, this may be what is causing the issues. There is a list of manilla CABS available on this thread

I'm using TLR V3... the theme drop down box does not show the themes located in "internal storage\themes"
I changed the name .theme to .zip and unzipped the contents of the orange lite theme directly to my Windows folder and the theme works great.
I have seen others mention the blank drop down not showing the themes... any answer on this?

I've copied the extracted *.themes files to \internal storage\themes
tried renaming to \theme and back to \themes, but no result.
Still doesn't show in Tf3D Config 0.6 (which is of course installed).

I'm running 6.1.1.15 Surface_Rom, which is based on 1.37.*

Someone have a clue what I'm doing wrong ?

Nope, I've got it working now on my Surface_ROM 6.1.1.15

The trick was to instantly copy it from the pc to \internal storage\Themes
(I copied it to another directory and moved it to \internal storage\Themes).

Now it shows up the TF3D Config :)

It lets me choose a new theme, loads it, resets and then... it looks like white smoke over default HTC Black theme with no shortcuts on the bottom bar (they are not accessible at all). I tried O2 Extended and Orange theme - all the same.

Needs to be fixed.

With Total Commander, the files are protected under ActiveSync.

here is why TF3D config tool could not see the themes for me.
even if you don't use the built in file explorer included with windows mobile... launch the program and move to a folder other then the newly created themes folder... I tried many things then finally I launched file explorer or for some strange reason it was sitting right there in the themes directory, once I changed where it was looking the TF3D Config tool could finally see the themes.
Although sushsilange mentioned the file explorer being an issue if it was sitting at the theme folder I thought nothing of it because I don't use it... it has a mind of its own!

OK..
For those tho thinks this theme changing has screwed up yr TF3D, don't loose hope.
The problem (in most of us, I think) is in the *_manila file deletion process.

Ya see.. the original TF3D is already in your ROM, so theres no way you can screw it up. It's the additional files provided by the themes that screw it up. If you have a mixture of them (meaning some leftover theme files) then yr TF3D will behave abnormally!

The moral of the story is.. U either keep the whole theme.. or DELETE EVERYTHING!. Make sure all the files are read-only and unhidden, only then U can access them. ROM files are impossible to be deleted, so it's safe to select all *_manila files.

I used Resco, and I unhide all file types, except for ROM files. Then I did a mass property-change to remove "read-only". Then delete.
I was also in the verge of hard-resetting, but now it's back up to speed and perfect.

Look forward to more themes.. I'm more keen in changing individual items (icons, background, etc) and I believe U geniuses will come to that in time to come.

Btw, I'm on SwiftBL2.0 ROM, and this works afterall :)

OK, the TF3D config tool freezes when trying to extract on the TLR rom... as sushilange has now posted on the front page that it is not compatible... that said if you change the .theme extension to .zip and use a zip utility to unpack the theme into the windows directory the themes work... The O2 blue with recent calls page freezes on the TLR rom after viewing the Recent calls tab.

I suppose you need to download the HTC-Black theme file too so it can show on list of themes within TFLO3D theme list. But the Black theme zip file posted here seems like a previous version. You can't really tell much difference if you use the English default language, I only noticed this when I changed the TFLO language to Japanese as default. The catagory names are different from newer roms.

I downloaded TFLO3D v0.6 & got it working, tried the Vodafone theme it replaced all the previous HTC_Black TFLO3D theme files, least to my limited knowledge. (well, surely a Hard-Reset can bring everything back to normal, but that is my last resort, since I do need to use the Diamond to make phone calls).

One wierd thing though, when I changed back from Vodafone to HTC Black, the HOME screen's clock was missing with the appointments as well...:confused: Everything else worked fine as usual, so I use SpriteBackUp & recovery my phone without hard reset, & I just use TFLO3D v0.6 now, don't think I'll be changing themes much since I tend to like the BLACK theme most of all. :p But anxiously waiting for future update releases & last but not least, a big thanks for the hard work and contribution guys! Nice Work!

I've not had that problem. Been through all the themes on Elite 3.0 and my two cities are there and updating fine- forecast working without problems as well.

I'm trying to install the Orange theme, but every time the phone hangs at 255/1194.
It tries to copy the file "qtv_mp4_decoder.dll"

Ok, I put a new ROM on the phone (Diamond Project Team V2, which is based on *.93) and now I'm able again to chance themes.

Only a small issue though : the left and right softkeys are not shown.

1.: You did it on your own risk!
2.: It's not my fault
3.: you lost nothing, if you backuped your files before hardreset
4.: you just have to delete all *_manila-files and everything working fine, after that, because thats the way you can restore all old files.
5.: only tf3d was not able to start on your device, everything else working fine! no hard reset is needed for this problem!

I am using original HK ASIA 1.34.831.1 WWE ROM..... and the themes don't work. During the installation process, i noticed that it stated that 1190/1191 which seems like a file is missing. After i clicked finish and reboot.... TF3D boot up with new theme but all the tabs were gone... and the screen only show transparent white color w/ the word "Title" in orange font in the middle of the screen (applying the Orange theme).... I can move the clock around under that white transparency.... and that's about it.... it messed up that I had to remove all the manila files in windows directory. I really want to apply new theme to my Diamond... can you please try to solve the issue???

I have also tried all the other themes and can't get the scroll to work on the bottom, I have to press the icons such as music, settings etc.

Does that mean the first two screens you'll see when you boot up the phone will also be changed of isn't this part of the theme? Next to that when these new themes are available do I need to remove the current theme? Even if it's the same? For example I have the HTC Black theme now with your TF3D Config, do I need to remove it before I install the new one?

Yes, if you use the restore-function, all *_manila-files will be deleted. After softreset you get 10-20 MB back of free space, and if your ROM included TF3D you will see your old standard-theme.

With the WM 6.1 File explorer, rename the Themes folder without "s", rename it again with "s" and try again.

I think the old themes were not complete and he is still working on it. In the meanwhile you can try the coloured manila a few post above.

I have forgot something:

If you changed the theme, you have to change the following registry-key by yourself until i fixed it in a new version of tf3d config:

HKLM\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu

ManilaCustomTexture: "\Windows\stBackImage.png"

Then your Startmenu-background is right.

Another thing: If you changed your theme and after soft-reset for example the black bars or blue bars are already there, then you just have to go to Start->Settings->Home. There you see, that the right Theme is activated, but you have to choose another one, click on OK and then you open the settings again and select the right one (HTC Black or O2 theme). Now everything is working fine :-)

Not everybody has this problem, but if you have it, you now know how to fix it.

Thats not what i was tryin to do.. i wanted to upgrade the TF3D on my phone.. Its current version is 23.... i wanted to upgrade it to 38... Could you tell me EXACTLY how do i do that ?!?!

But tell me some thing... does the upgrade have any MAJOR DIFFERENCE ?!?!.. Any in case i want to go back to the stock one.. Any idea how do i do that ?!?!.. Sorry to ask you so many questions.. But as i read in some pst.. the themes shushilange is makin.. apparently does not work on the upgraded version of TF3d.. so wanted to know.. the pros and cons of both upgrading.. before i do it !!.. If you want to upgrade, and be able to revert back to stock ROM, you have to dump your ROM first.
In the developers section is a post how to dump ROM's.
Then I suggest to hard-SPL your phone, so that you're able to flash another ROM.
I'm using Diamond Project Team V2 which comes in different languages.
Advantage of this ROM is, that you then already have the latest TF3D (*.38) and also the lastest of all the other software.
The main reason for flashing to another ROM is speed. 1.93.* is a lot faster than 1.34.*

And when you flashed to this new 1.93.* ROM it is no problem to apply these themes.

I have been using the TF3D 0.5.1, but I have uninstalled it and installed the new one, which does not work now. Interestingly, the uninstall of 0.5.1 did not remove the Romanian language translation I had set up with it.

Hey sushi, do u reckon it will be possible to be able to rename the TF3D Tab Headings? (i.e. Home, Music etc.) The reason I am asking is because some of the TF3D themes are branded (e.g. Orange) and it would be nice to be able to rename things like "Orange World" to just "Internet" or "WWW" and "Orange Music" to just "Music" or "Tunes".

I just tried a theme here, and it looks cool, but one thing is that after i changed I only got 4 different weather locations to choose from in Norway and before it was alot more 15-20 or so. Can you fix this bug in your next versions in any way?

With the WM 6.1 File explorer, rename the Themes folder without "s", rename it again with "s" and try again.

Go to Start->Settings->Today. Select another theme, click ok, go back to Today-Settings and select "o2 theme" again.

themes works with my T-mobile MDA Compact IV perfectly. am using the extended Black coloured theme.

only prob i had was that i couldn't see the themes listed, but doing the rename trick sorted that.

am new to all this, only got the phone on saturday, so had twitchy arse syndrome watching the install.

Has made the phone much better. the only bad comments I have had about the phone is the girly pink T-Mobile theme. Now its gone I can be all macho again!!

no slow operation or any problems yet. will keep you informed.

I've seen the first post. The newest themes have a call history or not in a different style. But does the call history tab make a theme an extended theme? If so I already have HTC Black with the call history tab tweak, thus making it extended... right? :P

I also have had problems to see any themes. Sometimes they were visible, sometimes not. Don't understood why. Maybe this is the solution also for u:

By chance I found out it has something to do with the selected folder when closing the file explorer (as mentioned already). If I have any other folder selected than the folder up to 'Themes', (after closing the file explorer) the themes are not visible. If I select the upper folder of 'Themes' so the folder 'Themes' (and all other folders on the same hirarchic level) are visible, (after closing the file explorer) the themes are visible within TF3D config :o)

I was saying that, your one is the O2 Blue TSK and did not know if the O2 Blue was a flat or glassy TSK so I asked if it was flat or glassy (I wasn't saying your TSK was not the original O2 Blue :P )... So in saying this, the one that I have attached is a different TSK all together, it is a blue-glassy one. I was saying this because in my initial post in regards to my attached tsk, you quoted me in saying that you have already got a tsk in the theme. I was just attaching my own .tsk which gives a glassy blue look ;)

- Looks like it is from V2 project
- It's just not fitting well (2 horizontal lines need to be removed, OR the background of the buttons need to be removed or 10 px lowered).
- Icons are not aligned in middle of button.

The .33 original manilla has this allright.
