Hello Everyone!
I had problems with my Ipaq. It has an italian ROM. So Iīd like to flash it with an german ROM. On the HP-Homepage i found an italian and a german ROM. But of course it isnīt possible to use the german version. Couldn't anyone cook or dump a GERMAN ROM for the Ipaq 114? I think here are a lot of Germans who would really really appreciate that.
Many thanks!!!
Thomas:confused: Further Informations: Isnīt it possible to overwrite the italian nbf-file with the german one???
Got new informations!!!
Instruction to flash:
1.) You need the german and the italian Rom-update. Both have to unpack on your hard disk!
2.) You connect PDA with the PC, but not with the ac-power.
3.) Start the italian Softpaq. Meanwhile the Update the programm will recognize, that the update does only work with ac-plugged
in.
4.) No you rename the Romfile from the german Update with the name from the italian one and copy it to the folder with the
italian Update
5.) NOW plug in the AC-Power Cable
On this way you bypass the country check - this will be done before the checking of the ac-power.

First, I have to say Hello!, this is my first post in this forum. I own an ipaq 110 classic series with WWE(world wide english).
I'have tried many ways to perform a language change, none of them appears to work, at least in this model. The method described above don't work on ipaqs 110 series, because this model only have a mini-usb port in the bottom end; which supplies data connection and power. Then... How I can "connect the AC power" to the device?. O maybe I'm omitting something.
Sorry about my english, I'm from Spain.

First of all you have to forbid your pda the charging via usb.
Use these (http://mstechnology.wordpress.com/2008/01/24/deaktivieren-des-aufladen-von-akkus-in-windows-mobile-geraten-uber-den-usb-port/)settings to do this.
When the software ask, reactivate the settings...
Try it...
Greetings!
Bye the way. My english isn´t better. I´m from germany :-)
EDIT !!!!!
SORRY!
It doesn´t work to deactivate the charging funktion. The problem is, that the pda use just one cable for the datas and for charging.
When you start the rom-update the setup programm automaticly start the charging option. The update starts immediatly...
No chance for overwrite the original language rom-file with the one from - in my case - the german one...

Finally... I'have found a way to change language on ipaq 110 series (I think I have seen this method somewhere else)...
First you need:
1. ROM update for your device's language (in this case spanish)
2. ROM update what you want to change (germany or other)
both can be downloaded from HP's web page.
You must unpack each ROM in a directory with winrar, by separate, for example in the desktop.
Run the RUU utility of your device's language, the program will make some checkups and tells, it is correct the ROM and the language. Proceed with the update.
THESE ARE THE IMPORTANT STEPS:
1. The progress bar in the PC screen will not move forward, and in the device the screen will show "RUU downloading mode" in a white background (I suppose this is the famous "bootloader mode"). In this moment you have to paste the "HPImage.nbf" from germany ROM (I suggest before you copy the file and let ready for the paste) to the directory with your device original ROM language, you have aprox 5 sec to do so; the update will continue with no warnings. The device's screen will show "downloading mode" and the progress bar in the setup in the PC will reach the end.
2. The device will perform a "CLEAN BOOT" in green letters and... your device is speaking germany (or other language).
I'm not sure how safe the procedure is.
I suggest you run the ROM update of your original device language before doing the change, to check the screens, the timing, etc.
Hope it works in your device. Mine now is speaking spanish.
Regards.
