Anyone else having a wierd loud noise when a call waiting comes in? I fisrt got this after flashing radion 3.42.30 and dcd 3.2.2

I flashed to dcd 3.23, and it was still there.
I re-flashed the radio, and its still there.

yeah, I recently noticed it as well. It sounds like an alarm of some sort. Very annoying

omg yes it happened to me last night. That is horrible. Anyone have any idea what that could be? I am running DCD3.2.3 with 3.42.30 radio

I had that exact thing happen with the 3.42.02 radio from the official sprint rom. I recently switched to 3.42.30 and I've yet to experience it again. Infact I just tested it before I made this post. I know thats not much help since you all have the .30 radio, but just wanted to pass along my experience. I guess the only other thing I have done differently is before I updated the radio to .30 I switched from SPL 2.40 to 2.47.

Perhaps try doing a fresh install of the radio and then the rom+cab?

Hmmm...I guess I should go look for a new radio and see if it changes.

No way....It is a ear screeching sound that stops you mid sentence while talking. I was like "Holy S***t, One second please my phone is acting up" to a customer I was talking with.

i just get this weird little noise in the beginning of a outgoing call, and for some reason the phone app itself pops up after i close a window to an app.

DCD-u reading this? Do you think we've got a bug? I'm on alltel--others--is it carrier specific?

What dialer are you using?

JerrytheGreat

I'm using dcd's kitchen, no OEMs added, just enterprise, entertainment, vc, and everything else as defaults.

I'm on alltel, I do use activesync with exchange, spb pocketplus, google maps, livesearch, htc gps viewer, and wififofun2.

Diamondish Black Titan Dialskin v.2.23

It's not the custom dialer that is doing this, because the custom dialer is just a skin (images) .

It's the Vouge Dialer found in the kitchen.

I cooked the Vouge dialer and got that annoying sound when ever I have call waiting.

I have the call waiting problem too. I first hear the regular call waiting sound followed by about five loud beeps that sound like someone keeps pressing a button on the other end.

Not every custom dialer is just a skin with images.

If you happen to own an old phone with caller ID that doesn't support call waiting/caller id, then you will hear a very similar sound. I believe that loud noise is actually the caller ID info being sent, on a standard pots phone it's only sent once, but it's possible that cells send multiple bursts in case the phone misses one of them.

Then again, I, who know nothing, is just giving my 2 cents on this.

True. But I was referring to the custom dialer he is using. Because I helped create it.

I don't think its the dialer either. I never had this problem with dcd 3.2.0 but i just upgraded to 3.2.3 and now have this problem. I have all the exact same programs installed and am using the default driver from the kitchen.

DCD--any thoughts?
I also posted in the 3.2.5 thread, as well as several others, but nobody has a resolution yet...

I did edit my registry to not use the vogue dialer--still have the issue.

the noise on mine is normal as always but it dosnt pop up on screen to tell me whos calling. it might have to do with my call filter though

I too have had the call waiting sounds....but in my case I usually flash the new ROM and have to wait a day or two before I can sit down to add anything (except sync my contacts), so my phone has no additional apps while this issue is occuring. It has been the same for the last three DCD ROM releases and I have tried multiple radios with the same result.

Keep in mind that this is on a 6800 that is unresponsive to any and all GPS hacks/tricks and has been consistent with the call waiting sound immediately after install/re-install.

I could live with it if the sound was annoying, but not blaring like a tsunami siren while I'm on a call.

Another issue I noticed (in the last three releases) was the problem with the fact that when re-flashed, the ringer works fine. If I set it to vibrate or silent, I can never get the phone to audibly ring again when I set it to audible. I have to re-flash the phone in order to get it to work.

Just my $.02 for input....either way the DCD ROM still kicks a$$ over the stock ROM.

I'm getting the call waiting noises too, but I'm running a 3.56 ROM from the PPCKitchen 20270 kitchen with the stock dialer (none selected). I'm also running the 3.42.30 radio and PRL 60613.

I have both issues mentioned here.

1. Loud sound during call waiting when someone is calling during a phone call.
2. Annnoying beep or something right when I dial a number and press talk.

I have been using only DCD kitchen and I got this issue with 3.23.

Any solutions. I am thinking about going back to 3.21???

I think its the ROM and not the radio. I first got this problem with DCD 3.2.3

I've also got the issue, the last 3 revisions of DCD have had this problem. If its part of the Vogue coding I could really do without it :-)

I had it on 3.42.30 about 2 or 3 days after I installed it, then I upgraded to .50 and it was still there, and suddenly it's gone......so I can't put my finger on what is the cause, tho I don't think it's necessarily the rom, it might be some cab that interferes with it.

Same here--I upgraded the radio to .50,and after a reboot (or maybe 2) the problem went away--I'm concluding the radio update is the resolution to this issue..

DCD 3.2.5 Radio 3.42.02 (all good)
Upgraded the radio ONLY to 3.42.50.. now I've got the sound.

Maybe it's the radio?

Others, however, have upgraded only the Rom and it caused the sound.

Maybe it's the Rom?

I think it's a combination of various circumstances that causes it... Unfortunately all of the reports don’t seem to have any real similarities except it's a relatively recent thing. I wish there was a fix.
