I posted this earlier on the Kaiser General tread but go no replies:

Okay before anyone points out to me I am aware that HTC Kaiser does not have a FM tuner on board.

I have been looking at various attachment for Ipods which have FM radio capabilities.

For example: http://www.amazon.co.uk/GEAR4-BluEye-Bluetooth-Connection-Device/dp/B000JXGENK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1216741324&sr=8-2

There are plenty more types out there.

I am wondering if it would be possible to hook one of these devices using the mini USB port on the Kaiser and write a software which would use the FM radio tuner on these devices. I know these devices are custom built for Ipods but a low level code should in principle be able to access the hardware and use it.

Any thoughts?

My first thought is

your link didn't work

Looking for something?
We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site.

Go to Amazon.co.uk's Home Page

My second thought is Just get a portable AM/FM radio.. If your going to carry around something to plug into your phone then you shouldn't care.

Well thanks for the prompt reply. Apologies for the link. Since I just cut n paste from my previous post, the link was shortened.

Correct link:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/GEAR4-BluEye-Bluetooth-Connection-Device/dp/B000JXGENK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1216741324&sr=8-2

As for buying a portable radio, I know it would be the easiest solution but if someone can programme to use the radio via the USB it would be a nicer solution.

Motorola S705 SoundPilot (http://www.motorola.com/motoinfo/product/details.jsp?globalObjectId=152) works pretty good. Music sounds a tad bit better than average, but not near as good as the S9s or HT820s
