Will updating my kitchen to DCD 3.2.3 wipe my phonebook and applications? In another words " will i have to start over?"

yeah, doing a ROM update hard resets the phone.

Thats what i figured.....Its never easy

personally I prefer it this way. If you ever get to a no boot situation or a virus or whatever, a ROM update or hard reset is all it takes to clean up.

i find the rom updating very addictive. I use sashimi to backup my settings and install my programs, so it's pretty painless. Of course setting up sashimi or uc is very labor intensive, so it's only helpful for people who hard reset regularly.
