Hello boys,

First, sorry, my english is very poor. :(

I'm an chinese student. I buyed a Vodafone HTC Diamond (I changed the rom to RUU_Diamond_HTC_SPA_1.37.412.2_Radio_Signed_Diamon d_52.26a.25.09_1.00.25.03_Ship because vodafone's rom is horrible!!!) but I am looking for any rom or program with japanese and chinese input (and korean if it is possible) running in Diamond.
Can someone help me?
When I have my HTC P3300 I was using CE-Star, but I listened that in Diamond do not run correctly.

Thanks a lot!

Try to install 15M YaHei fonts and (xxx)input methord. Don't know its English name :p . And it just supports chinese input.

Anyway, download link following.

there is a ce-star version for diamond. since you need chinese input, i presume you understand chinese. so, it would be best if you check out those chinese pda forums. they should have the input which u required.

Is it possible to have a kind of cab file to enable Japanese/chinese input and display ?

I would like to keep my actual ROM instead of flashing another one since I'm learning japanese for few months but I'm not able to use a full Japanese rom yet.

Well I'm aware about "LetsJapan" cab files made by Asukal to enable Japanese display but i can't find an input solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

Thanks.
Until now, I tried with Hongkong english rom with ce-star (I buyed), and is ok to read and write jp and ch, but when instal korean input like diopen, cjk or other, can read and input korean but some characters from chinese change to square. But if just install the korean font, can't read it (just can read in word but I looking for to explorer or opera).
With this japanese rom that you say can read korean? and have jap/ch input?
Well, thanks to all people that help me!

Hello, nice to see that I'm not the only one having problems with Asian fonts in Diamond.

Strangely enough, I don't have any issue to display Asian characters, no matter I use CE Star or other fonts pack.

My problem is actually quite wierd: whenever I install Asian fonts support, my four hardware buttons (home, back, call out, end call) and the directional pad stop working...
The other buttons and the touch screen are still OK though...
Anyone has came across similiar issues and/or found a solution to this?

Thanks for the Chinese support cabs, but it did not work for me.

The good thing is it doesn't affect my hard buttons anymore, and the kuma input part works OK.

But I still cannot view websites in Chinese. I don't even have the choice in Internet Explorer supported languages.

Besides, many characters are not recognized in e-mails and it only shows a blank square.

This is maybe because I installed the support for Japanese too, as I need both languages.
Another possibility is that the cab only cover traditional chinese and not simplified chinese...

All the other cabs I tried for Chinese support works well, but they do affect my hard buttons.

Just to give the feedback about how I solved my problem to whom might be interested:

1) Since all 'good' Asian Fonts package was putting a mess in my hardware button mapping, I was finally forced to switch to a WWE ROM, preferably one with Asian affinity. ;)
2)
From that point, CE Star and other started to be compatible again, which made me understand what the problem was:
having to deal with different Asian codes plus French (the language of the ROM) plus English (the language of the keyboards Asian Languages' IME are running).

Now everything works just fine, so far so good.

the uhei00m-gray.cab is extracted from HTC chinese ROM. it should be unicode and able to display traditional or simplified chinese.

for the simplified chinese input, i'm not sure but you may try Ricky's chinese support and fonts above. i think it must very great, i will try it out too later.

The uhei00m-gray.cab works fine, but i can't find the imeonly.cab due to the link above is dead :(
Would someone be so kind and reupload it for me? =)
And by the way... do you know if both of them are working with the original Vodafone-rom?

I bought my Diamond in HK and it came with CE Star to bring Chinese support. I changed my ROM to Dutty's since day one because I really enjoyed his Kaiser ROM.

For the first 4 months, I have used Monster Chinese V6 (legacy of Kaiser).

About a month ago, I start to try CE Star whenI switch to SwiftBL V7.5. It seems that CE Star perform better comparing to Monster Chinese 6. However, it could be SwiftBL ROM. I don't have any hard fact, just a feeling.

I am currently using Dutty's V2.9 and keeping CE star.

Dutty's ROMs are Highly recommended. :D

If you search on xda-developers there is a free input method made by AKULA [?]
called ChinaFEP It comes in a cab and you load it, load your font, do the fontlink changes and youre ready to go. He has Japanese and Korean versions as well I think. Ive used it since 2003 and it works the best for me and its free.

I sound like a broken record but the like the more experienced people on xda dev say... First search before post. It really works.

Why don't you try to reinstall the T9 cab? Do a search, I am sure you can find the cab to download somewhere. I use CE Star, there is no problem at all.

I am currently using Dutty 3.4 CVSD, quite stable and efficient.

For WWE ROM, install a Chinese font library first(like Yahei 12MB...etc), and then install a Chinese input method(Like PLUMSip 6.1 or A4 2.5).
That'll work fine for your request.

I have CEStar and the Zhuyin input keyboard is also very small. I think this is because all the input method we have now were designed for 320X240 rather than the 640X480 or the HD resolution. We will just have to wait for new version to come out to solve this problem.

Ok guy, the wait is finally over, here is the solution:
http://a4input.googlecode.com/files/A4_PPC_SIP_VGA_v2.0.45.rar
explanation:

As explained before, to see the Chinese character you must first install the htc Chinese support: uhei00m-gray.cab
http://rapidshare.com/files/135293786/uhei00m-gray.cab.html

Someone also gave the KUMA Chinese Input: imeonly.cab
http://andrewloh.com/HTC/Diamond/Base/imeonly.CAB
BUT this input do not allow to type in pining (use the keyboard) but only to "draw" the characters, also it do not allow input of simplified Chinese.

So I found a solution here:
http://www.ppcsg.com/index.php?showtopic=92734
In this post they give a link to http://www.a4user.com/A4_down_sip.asp
where you can choose to download the VGA version:
http://a4input.googlecode.com/files/A4_PPC_SIP_VGA_v2.0.45.rar
Unrar and keep only the .cab, it's ok.
This input tool allow normal keyboard and also Chinese pinyin (both phone numpad or regular qwerty, clic the little circle to switch).
And it looks good, which is cool.
You don't need to uninstall the kuma tool, just switch between the inputs.
Enjoy

Here's the cab for it: PDA Mobiz ChiJap (<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?tr5bmytiyiq">http://www.mediafire.com/?tr5bmytiyiq</a>)

Anyone found one for Korean?

Enjoy

Thank you for detail explanation.
