I don't know what you've discussed before, but here's a driver that supposedly works with Diamond Hologram. Hope this helps.

The beta expired last night so I hardreset it trying to reflash the ROM. But i need HSPL 1.24 right? So i followed the instruction until the screen turns black. Then when my phone establish a connection with my computer again it says found new hardware Qual Telecom CDMA Technologies MSM and asks me to install the driver for my computer, but i dont have it on my computer, do you know where i can find this?

and sorry for asking the password question again, but i'm very new with my diamond and this forum. What is the v3 pw when unzipping? thanks!

if u have already hardspl installed already assuming since u have my rom on ur phone already just go into bootloader mode and flash,

If u havent have hardspl I'm not sure why its asking for u to find this file as normally on vista it installed drivers needed.

Ok Guys I will update this with some useful stuff and bug reports in this section:D

Things to Know about this Rom.

The New Task Manager has a few more registry not sure if its relate to active sync or its a bug somehow but will further investigate is that when ur connected to activesync and u choose to close an application runing it also kills the activesync connection.

This cab just fixes the closing of applications and not killing the active sync issue
The font keyboard and also the blackbery conect fix cabs are also available.
Connection setup should fix some probs with user country operator settings now

go into bootloader mode volume down + soft reset for 3 seconds rainbow colour screen should show , check what hardspl is on it

Do you absolutely need 1.93 or will 1.4HardSPL work. Never had a problem before with flashing your ROMS. But with this V3 I see that you now have a recommendation or should I say requirement on what HardSPL to use

It seems Opera process is keeping running even "exit" and use up much RAM if browsed so large size web page. After kill "opera.exe" by "task manager", RAM is free up. Is there any setting at Opera let it close all opera.exe process when "exit"?

The fastest and most stable i ever have.

Today i used phone as navigation (i don't do that every day since i know the routes i usually use) and i was astognished. Dutty: have you change some gps settings/regs? Lag has almost vanished for me. I use radio 16 and on 2.9 still there was a little lag. Now its almost gonne. Don't know if it is a coincident and will do some more tests tomorrow.

Also i'd like to mention that i hadn't got any problems to flash to v3 using hardspl 1.24 by jockyw2001.

Looks like V3's good from reading the posts, only just got round to flashing it and doing the standard hard reset afterwards atm. Followed your advice from a while back Dutty about jumpspl, putting hardSPL 1.93 on, then flashing a original stock ROM (used one of the 1.93's) and then the flashing over to v3, will be interested to see how it beds in after doing this, was a lot of effort lol.

Well I'm off to set my device back up and carry on with my fm2009 addiction :D Hope everyone's having a good Saturday.

You can actually close opera by changing settings in task manager



just go to settings task manager, buttons and change or checked box to end programs by tapping x

I'm on BS14 and the camera gone black for me after the first shot too.

Another issue - possibly radio related but I will confirm later - is that the MMS video now only takes a video of 7 seconds. Previously I have been able to get 29 seconds with the same settings.

I have seen this question a lot.... I tried to upgrade my SPL from 140 to 193 also and failed the first time...to make it work.....

You have to drag out "cecopy,diamondspl.bat,jumpspl,ptun, and sspl-1.01-reloc-mod.nb" from the rar or zip file into a empty folder on your desktop,
then run the diamondspl.bat, when your phone turns black it should tell you in the "cmd window" to flash the new spl...that is when you run your HardSPL-193
Hope that helps anyone that has trouble.

I use V3.
Before, RAM will free up when close Opera by "long press X" or press "exit" at Opera bottom button. But now, when I close Opera by above 2 ways, although I cannot see Opera running at task bar, I can still see "Opera.exe" existing at "TaskManager" and RAM still use up. I need to manually kill by Taskmanager in order to free up RAM.

Ive search through this Forum for Diamond but havnt find anything. I tried HTC Touch ELF SPL dump but its not workig can u just send me the link to the program.


Note: I now there is some SPLs in forum but prefer to dump my SPL and OS by myself.

Now I know I have to use itsutils tool and read through Wiki but I cant dump my spl. ( how do u guys get those hex numbers for SPL)

When i run the Hard-SPL-Diamond-OilNex, ROMUilityUpdate the part where i click update.. it shows current 1.37. About to update to OilNex 1.40.. then when the black screen turns on.. it wont connect unless i install the QuadComm driver which I dont have. Then it stops the update right away by istself.

I need to head out for work but please do reply, I'll check again when i'm back.

It means yours is CDMA diamond not GSM.
I think dutty's rom won't work on CDMA diamond.

Dutty - can't work this one out. Sometimes I get a 29 second MMS video and other times only 9 seconds. Have checked all the settings and it seems completely random.

as for the browser when i press the x it does close properly so dont know why other peeps are having probs, checked the task manager and everything.

I can't seen to get this to work tried a few times now over the past few weeks and I must be missing something, I follow the steps and then I still have 1.40 spl, anyone got a more detailed procedure that may help? 1.40 seems OK but I have screen flicker after a soft reset, it stops after I power off/on, but it just bugs me, plus it could be causing other unseen issues. :)

I think that's a bit harsh, however I'm not feeling the love for v3 that others here are.

I've managed to get over the MMS video issue I had (somehow) but now I'm finding YouTube is totally broken. It loads and then immediately closes as soon as it starts to buffer.

Also memory is leaking like I don't know what still - even just sat there with nothing have been opened. I understand that with a page pool that 80% usage can run but it's creeping well over that. I opened a text and it shoots up to 92% which renders opera and youtube unusable.

On the opera side, closing it isn't releasing memory for me, so I have to soft reset if I need to do anything after using it.

Might go back to 2.9 and see if I can get on with that for the time being.

I can't seen to get this to work tried a few times now over the past few weeks and I must be missing something, I follow the steps and then I still have 1.40 spl, anyone got a more detailed procedure that may help? 1.40 seems OK but I have screen flicker after a soft reset, it stops after I power off/on, but it just bugs me, plus it could be causing other unseen issues. :)

Try using the attached SSPL.exe file, unzip and place it on your storage card, connect to active sync/WMDC run the SSPL.exe file on your device, then when the screen goes black run Hard SPL 1.93 from your desktop. It should then take. :)

help please!hey man i would like to help u like somone else did for me please read carefully

open from your PC the rar or zip archive and extract only the BIG .nbh file
rename it as DIAMIMG.NBH (uppercase/lowercase is the same)
copy the renamed file into the root dir of your "Storage Card" or "Internal Storage" (the one of 4Gb... NOT to the internal phone memory!)
reset your device and within 3 seconds push together "vol down" and "back" buttons (the one on the right above the hangup button) and keep pressed until the boot loader appears (the one with the color stripes)
soon as you see the bootloader stop to press those poor buttons
a very simple gray menu will appear asking you what to do, simple press the power button to perform the ROM/Radio upgrade
while the upgrade runs you have to be patient and NEVER press again the power button or reset the device (or you will have to restart from the beginning), when finished a message "UPDATE SUCCESS" will appear, now you can safely reset your device
for who prefer is possible to perform a hard reset (soon after reset simply press vol down + circle buttons) after the fresh upgrade... even if it has no-sense because internal memory is pre-formatted during flash

I flashed V3 MSVC 12mb this morning, started with putting on 1.93 SPL and hardreset after flashing ROM. I am using .16 radio, btw. It seems best for me.

Have been using the ROM all day, I am really impressed with the speed and feel of it. I can feel an improvement over V2.8 CVSD, which I had before. After a day of heavy usage, mem use is 86% but the phone is still fast, responsive and I can still start and use Opera with no problems. I experience none of the bugs mentioned by others, everything works great so far: volume control, camera and youtube too. The only bug I saw in 2.8 (screen flicker during scrolling with sidebar) is gone too.

I have noticed 1 bug only:
In photos, when deleting a few photos/pics within touchflo menu, the photo that is shown is not the one that gets deleted.

I have installed quite a few apps, removed a couple of tabs I don't use and added finixnover battery Icon, so if no-one else get this bug then I guess it's because of some conflict with something I installed.

Dutty don't know how you do this - I'm exhausted just flashing this phone a few times today! I've gone back to 2.9. v3 wasn't playing ball for me on camera and youtube no matter what I do.

I'm determined to get youtube working on 2.9 and I have found that if you always hit play as soon as it goes white and before buffering ends - you get picture and sound just fine. If you let buffering finish you don't get sound. If you exit out and try and play that same video still no sound, until you go to another vid, play while buffering and then back to the previous vid you can buffer it again.

I hope that makes sense!

You or others might be able to help me with another issue that I have had in all you ROMS.

I don't use TouchFlo, so when I start the phone it doesn't automatically take me to the screen to enter my pin and start the radio. Any ideas? (Not a big issue)

Regarding radio BS14 and camera I finally fix it so at least for me the Rom is stable enough to release a Final with v3.1 , also youtube incontrol is fix

Let me first say that I appreciate and have been using your roms for quite some time (i actually flashed v3 today) so many thanks for all your efforts and your continuous help towards your users' issues with your rom. You're always there to help which is really nice and inspires confidence. Also, I hope you can reach a stable rom for everyone even though your initial goal was to customize a rom for your personal use and share it with the others at the same time -- you're not *actually* responsible to fix the errors we get with your roms. I hope everyone knows that.

Now please allow me to be critical as well :)

Speaking as a developer (not for WM though), I believe you could improve your versioning scheme. Your roms' versioning is quite confusing. Examples: your roms appear to increase (major) version numbers with sets of (minor) fixes; the RTM story -- RTM should be final and it doesn't really make sense for a rom in this case to be honest; a version increase when the changes consist of bug fixes should not make, for instance, 2.9 go to 3.0 as it leads people to believe there were real major changes -- usually a major version increase, i.e. v2.* to v3.0 implies there was something really big (2.10 would have been more appropriate in my opinion).

You said a few posts back to the quoted one above that you'd leave v3.0 out therefor a longer while and stop this excessive flashing. Now you're talking about releasing a v3.1 because of a few bugs you fixed: a bug in the camera in conjunction with the bs14 radio and the youtube volume bug. Normally, this should not mandate a new version release. If it's possible, a patch (cab) would be great to give the people who flashed v3.0 the possibility to upgrade without flashing, saving valuable time and hassle. Or if you really want a new v3.1 release just for those fixes then fine, but offering a cab patch if possible would be very useful. It would be nice to actually strive to offer cab upgrades whenever possible -- i.e. if it's possible to have a cab patch then go for it, people will love that! i can assure you, it would save everybody so much time -- rather than releasing a new version days after the previous. It's crazy, really. It will never stop like this and you will most likely lose fans who are not flash-junkies.

I love your roms, I really do. I used v2.3a since yesterday (damn glad I flashed before getting that expired error) and many v1.* prior to that. I've been reading this thread almost daily since v2.3a and the reason I didn't flash any of the versions released between v2.3a and v3 was the amount of bugs or bug reports that kept accumulating from one version to the next -- it's kind of scary, really. Also, new versions were released very soon after the previous one and the series of bug/error reports afterwards made the rom look like there wasn't enough testing done prior to releasing -- which is not true in many cases, since I know you have your group of beta testers (although in some cases quick fixes were added right before the release).

I already had more issues with v3 in one day than I had with v2.3a in 2 weeks (e.g. extreme slowness after a call, a crash with a black and white dots screen, locked touch panel and a couple others). They could all be because of incompatibilities with software I added but they were all working fine in v2.3a. This all pertains to testing before releasing but hey, you can't install every possible software out there to make sure it's working for your users. At this point (also with the rate of new releases being so high) I'm thinking of either going back to v2.3a or even -- maybe -- shamelessly try another rom.

As a minor issue, maybe it's worth setting up a bugzilla or trac page for your rom ... the rate new messages are posted in this thread is alarmingly high (messages are posted literally while reading). It would make the bug reports more relevant and probably easier for you to cook. Your call depending on the hassle and time you're willing to put in setting up and maintaining a bugzilla or trac page.

In any case, please keep up the great work (and thanks for reading in case you were that masochistic :p). I have rarely seen such dedication coupled with patience and promptness -- and I've seen my share. Congratulations for all this. You should really be proud.

u have to set up windows live messenger and select "sync email" in the process, that's the only way to sync hotmail, atleast for me
it's not a rom related issue anyway, every single other rom out there won't allow u to set up hotmail with the "set up new account" thingy

I guess the biggest thing that I noticed was that the gps seems to lock in much much faster now. I'm not sure what you did but, don't change it. The camera works fine for me and so does everything else I have tried. I am very happy with this ROM. I think it's the best to date. The memory leak is still there but, it's no worse than it has been. All in all! Great job! Thanks!

I decided to release my final Rom based on the v3 aku 1.5, I decided no matter what I cant please everyone and that a rom works different for everyone sometimes I'm not sure if some people do read instructions before posting.

I'm also making a user guiide and FAG ro go with it so all common questions and answers will be there concerning my roms and especialy v3.1 Final

For all those who use my Roms over the last few months thanks for suporting and for those who try to fight and critise me throughout thanks also for this had made me stronger.

I have use the Rom over the last few days and havent seen any major issue that even the factory rom wasnt perfect. If you think the rom is not for you just flash an official rom or re-flash another rom.

I am using V3 (full MSVC 12 MB + radio .05) and tested everything (almost).
My findings:

-Manila not so smooth as it was in v2.9
-I have problem with BT, drops while listening mp3 (DS200) working superbly before (Anybody else??)

If there is any tweak for BT i could go back to 2.9 (best Manila ever!)

When I first flashed v3, and installed all my usual apps, the battery was being used at a mad rate ! I wasn't sure what it was, so I re-flashed and installed one app at a time. In the end I discovered that it was S2U2 V1.35 I'm now using V1.30 and the battery usage seems to be much better. I'm also using radio BS14.

Will this fix the issue of videos that have been sucessfully recorded with the camera only playing sound and not picture? It appears to be a similar (related?) issue to YouTube and experienced on both 05 and 14 radios on HSPL 1.40 and 1.93 - after some pretty intense testing yesterday.

Will this fix the issue of videos that have been sucessfully recorded with the camera only playing sound and not picture? It appears to be a similar (related?) issue to YouTube and experienced on both 05 and 14 radios on HSPL 1.40 and 1.93 - after some pretty intense testing yesterday.

I am using V3 (full MSVC 12 MB + radio .05) and tested everything (almost).
My findings:

-Manila not so smooth as it was in v2.9
-I have problem with BT, drops while listening mp3 (DS200) working superbly before (Anybody else??)

If there is any tweak for BT i could go back to 2.9 (best Manila ever!)

Did you try disabling "fast data sync" in setting->connections->usbtopc.
I disable this setting and replug my phone to pc, and get AS working fine.

Hi, I'm having probs updating from V1.8 to 3.
When I try to run the Diamond Custom RUU I get an error box come up saying "DiamondCustomRUU has encounted a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

This applies if I try to reinstall any of the previous ROMs.

Any idea's why?

since 2.6 I took out a lot of applications like total commander, gps test etc, I find full roms better even when doing benchmarks the full roms are even faster, You will just have to try the full rom or install the keyboard from swtos and decide,

dutty I'm having two probs here with v3 12mb:
- courier new like character in full keyboard
- in multiple selection scroll list (like in spb gprs) unable to see items, just a small black bar (the same issue you had many versions ago), probably caused by smaller selection window height. How can I increase the height of these windows in adv config?

Hi there,
I am using this ROM. Last night I was able to surf the net, to talk etc. I live in Spain and I am with movistar. This morning I see that there is a problem with the signal, I can not register to the gsm system. I called them, my IMEI is ok. I put another SIM in, and the same problem. WIFI works, Bluetooth works...Changed the radio too... the problem still exists. I have the emergency ROM of Movistar, but I have to put back the spl of movistar, I suppose, no? If nobody can help me I will take it to the distributor, but then I need to put back everything as it was when I bought it (it is a contract)
Any ideas? The same happens with every ROM, every Radio....

no, just make sure you choose the right option at the hard-reset options...

there is a second option below to format the internal storage (i think it's labelled NAND format) - make sure you DON'T choose that option if you want to keep your internal storage intact!

edit: just finished flashing 3.1 and i can now tell you that at the hard-reset screen, push 'vol up' to hard-reset, keeping internal storage intact... otherwise, press 'vol down' to hard-reset and format internal storage... hth.

In v2.9, "find network" works fine.
In v3.1, you can press "set network".
I don't know it's a bug or not.
I used 1.24 hardspl and radio bs14 in v2.9. But in v3.1, I change to use 1.93 hardspl and raido bs14. I don't know it matters or not.

Spoke too soon - an hour in and the camera has stopped working again. And so has youtube. I could live without the latter but they seem to effect each other. I've tried everything.

Yea I've tried every single rom version with every combo now and it's the same for me. I can only think there are some hardware differences that Dutty isn't able to accommodate for.

It's a real shame as I think it's goodbye to Dutty roms for me. I feel quite sad about that!

Youtube would close by itself when buffering. Or I would get sound but no video. So, I installed SWTOS YouTube and I now get sound and video but only in Fast Download mode. I tried the built in YouTube again and now I get sound + video also only in Fast Download mode. No big deal for me. I don't use yourtube.

If I set bitpool on 70 (high in Advance Config) sound is MUCH better but I have drops. If I set bitpool on Low (default by Dutty) sound is crap but no drops.

In previous versions I could set any bitpool and it worked beautifully.

Any suggestions?

DUTTY Hi! First I would like to congratulate you for your rom is fantastic! I'm using v3.1 msvs 12MB, radio bs14 and hardspl 1.4 olinex and for now all is well, anything that compromises the quality of their work. Secondly I would like to report that identified two small problems: 1. the volume control is unconfigured with large letters and some strange characters, but it functions normally, 2. After recording a video can not play the file generated, gives an error. What should I do? :confused::confused:

K, don't understand this 100% but from what I understand of this, the pagepool size is memory specifically allocated to the Windows/Device, so the higher it is the quicker the device runs, means that there's less free RAM for programs though so that tends to fill up quicker.

I suffered from the bizarre, and unstated expiry date on Dutty's beta ROMs, like many other unsuspecting people.

I held off reflashing a ROM on my PDA and borrowed a handset to use in the meantime. I was sure that, in spite of the feeling of doom, there must be some way of enacting a recovery of data.

I am now experimenting with Paraben Device Seizure 2.2 to attempt to recover all my data.. I'll let you know how it goes.

Has anyone used this software before? (or has anyone got a license who can do it for me ;)

Btw, to those who say well we should've known or backed up in any case: it's true we should back up frequently, and that the product was at beta development stage, and we now know that there was an reference in one post (to my knowledge) on the forum which attempted to indicate there there was an expiry date.

I suffered from the bizarre, and unstated expiry date on Dutty's beta ROMs, like many other unsuspecting people.

I held off reflashing a ROM on my PDA and borrowed a handset to use in the meantime. I was sure that, in spite of the feeling of doom, there must be some way of enacting a recovery of data.

I am now experimenting with Paraben Device Seizure 2.2 to attempt to recover all my data.. I'll let you know how it goes.

Has anyone used this software before? (or has anyone got a license who can do it for me ;)

Btw, to those who say well we should've known or backed up in any case: it's true we should back up frequently, and that the product was at beta development stage, and we now know that there was an reference in one post (to my knowledge) on the forum which attempted to indicate there there was an expiry date.

we'll, about the photo-issue, everything on the 4GB internal memory will not be deleted, and photos/videos are saved there, hence you will have your data available if you flash a new ROM. :)

Well , got the 12MB PPL CVSD installed, couldnt get youtube to work, so reinstalled another version,soft reset and that cured it, I get picture but sometines dont get sound, seems a little hit and miss, but stopping the video and starting again seems to fix that. Also got the strange font in the volume control, I also get asked if I want to update a database...
Strange, as ive never had any of the issues that most people have suffered from , possibly as Dutty got a new Diamond last week, there are differences.... might go back to V3.0, was working perfectly for me, but im sure dutty will fix these small issues...

well imo 2.5 still was the best dutty's release... but then some of the application versions were too old, like HTC album, newer version has much better scrolling feel
other than that, 2.5 has the best speed and the most stable rom to date, V3 just doesn't feel right to me sorry...

Battery Life
To make sure you get a longer battery life results you should always


Ensure you make sure your battery is completely dead before charging it over again
Do not charge your battery at 40% and over
Always recycle your battery meaning let it dies so the device cannot be swtiched on, charge with wall charger with device off


I've researched this and found the complete opposite to be true...

The Diamond's battery is lithium ion, your tips are for older nickel metal hydride\ nicad type batteries that work in a different way to lithium ion.

I am running Duty 3.1, I have also run the hebrew localization by Eyron (if that is imporant).


My problem is that on the top left side of the screen (exactly beneath the start button), it should say 17/11/2008 but it writes instead day/month/year (hebrew text), does any 1 get this strange behaviour???

Have used v3.1 lite for about one day.
Everything including bt,wifi, camera is fine expect for this 2 problems.
1. select box height in spb gprs monitor.
2. "find network" not works in setting->phone->network

correct. li-ions should be topped up regularly. Letting them charge to zero damages the battery and reduces its life.

Just my observations;

Youtube and my camera were giving me grief.

If you start youtube after a soft re-set, you get no sound, the pause and restart seems to fix that. Then I got no video at all, and youtube would crash.

After the above, my camera would not work at all, just a blank screen.

However, after another soft reset, the camera is back, recorded a video and all is well. Then utube worked also! It still does....and my camera seems okay too...

I have DIAM300 BTW, but Dutty's ROM works well except for the calender on reboot, no sound in youtube (works when I use dutty's light and install youtube manually). Camera has always worked for me.

Can I ask, why would flashing TWICE, resolve anything. Are you saying the flashing process leaves random bits of memory unflashed, and doing it twice does it properly ? I don't believe this ?

So... is there a solution for me, or I should go to the shop?

Same here, I didn't encounter any problems mentioned above and other's as well. As per me, all is running fine. For info, I have 1.40 Olinex (flashed it on 1.34 original when bought the phone) and .05 radio = no probs.

if you've tried differnet ROMs and Radios, sounds like a hardware fault. Restore original manu ROM ,Radio and SPL. If you still have problem, swap it under guarantee.

Had the same problem a month ago.. sent it to HTC for repair. Found out the motherboard had to be replaced.
2 weeks later i got back my TD.. new motherboard but same phone.. works perfectly now!

Hi! I had exactly the same problem this morning. Woke up and had an exclamation mark where the network strength was meant to be.
I reinstalled the radio (BS14 ) and still had the same problem. Same problem after hard reset.
I have now changed the radio to Radio v1.02.25.32 ( http://depositfiles.com/en/files/59twta7xy ) and all seems good. Note that this radio is for Raphael Make sure you are CID unlocked (SuperCID = 00000), or else you cant flash this radio. Can be done with Olinex simunlocker.

I've had this, but it has always turned out to be a network/operator prob. I checked this by putting the SIM into another phone which then got the same prob. With another SIM and another operator both phones were fine.

Maybe your operator had fixed the network by the time you flashed radio .32?
Just make sure before you send your phone away. :)

The phone has had the best signal ever since the change to the Raphael Radio v1.02.25.32.
And really don't want to return the phone, unless it's the last option! No problem with reverting to the stock 1.37 ROM but I'm still unclear as to where to get and revert to stock SPL and remove HardSPL :o)

It's so much more fun upgrading than downgrading!

I've tested the calendar problem.

If you install and uninstall Duttys Task Manager.cab, you will solve the problem.

But then you'll loose the HTC Task Manager (very useful in my opinion).

Besides, this is the best and fastest rom ever (3.1 lite 12mb pp).

I'm not saying anything. :-) Just that after flashing once, I had a few problems and after flashing a second time, these problems were gone. Just sharing my experiences. I'm not an expert so I can't claim anything.

As for the rest I'm also very pleased with this ROM, but I am contemplating on trying the lite version.
