Very happy with 3.6 with a 12 MB pagepool so I won't try 3.6b. This might be my last WM6 rom unless some other amazing rom is going to pop up before a working WM7 rom is released (if ever).

After flashing 3.6 and doing a hard reset yesterday I drained the battery and then fully charged it while leaving the phone off. Now the battery lasts a lot longer then it did these past few months. It fully charged last night and about 20 hours later there are still three green bars in the battery status screen. Wonderful! Life's so good when your toys are working as they should. :p

I never have any isues locking my phone through end key, with V3.5/V3.6 when u click on endkey it wil open quick task and u can select what u want to do,

If you want to change the settings,
go to endkey in settings#
and change the option to always lock
hope this is clear.

You need to press the endkey up to 5 secs for it to prompt up , unless there is a 3rd party conflict

There is an issue locking the phone with the end key, or the quick menu only when you have a PIN setup. As far as I know, that is the case with all of the OEM Roms as well.

Small tip for people having problems with the password:

For some reason it adds a space at the beginning and at the end when you double click on the password to copy it.

So best thing to do:
- copy the password and paste it into notepad.
or
- just type the password instead of copying it :)

Flashed 3.6b (12mb pp) this morning and quite the opposite of most here, 3.6 (12mb pp Charly mx version) is noticably faster on my device. I have not one problem that I can find so far. Sticking with it for sure, until/if Dutty comes out with a new major upgrade.

I know you have had problems getting the screen to stay on for other users (which you have now fixed), I wonder if it is hard-coded into your rom to stay on, or if there is anything I can do to make the screen switch off again? :)

For all missing "X" mark: Dutty said you must run it manually:)

But maybe some tutorial will help.

Go: Start > Settings > System (tab) > Task Manager > Button (tab) > Flag the "Enable Quick Menu on Today Screen" > OK == Now you have "X" :)

I'm not so sure it detects the existing pagepool, it just says 6 as a default setting that you would be changing to.:)

Edit: Actually I think it does check because I just checked the rom I changed to 0mb pp earlier and it came up reading 0.

Oh great. Updated to 3.6b and now i have lost my USB. The error displayed is :

Connection Not Valid
Cannot open the connection "USB". The connection is no longer valid or does not exist. Select a different connection and try again. Tried to re-flash again, no good, tried hard reset, no good.

EDIT - Something wrong with 3.6b. I changed it back to 3.6 and USB works fine. I do have to disable "Enable Faster data synchronisation" and doing this stuffs up the USB side of things on 3.6b, but not 3.6.

I've just got a question for everyone re the SMS "To" field... In the 3.6 version (i'm not sure if it was like that on 3.4 and 3.5 as well since I was only on them for a short time) when I go to start a new SMS, I start typing a name in the "To" field and it brings up one potential match. When I was using Dutty's 2.9, the potential match came up and there was an arrow on either side of the contact name that it brought up. Pressing/touching those arrows allowed me to scroll through all the potential matches, one by one...

In this release, it seems that the arrows are no longer there.. instead, it now only brings up one potential match and slightly to the right, there's three dots "..." that dont seem to do anything. I now have to go to the Menu and select "Check Names.." to get a list of potential matches...


I wouldnt call it a bug as such, but I think the way it was back in Dutty's 2.9 was much easier without having to press as many buttons for each SMS.

Can someone tell me whether there is a setting somewhere to change this or if it's just going to be the way it is from here on?

I turn off the light by pressing the power button when you have dialled the number. You can press the centre button to turn on the backlight again.

I flash 3.6 (0 pp) ROM 2 days without install HTC Volume Control_Voda.CAB,
It’s extremely smooth for me, and it can use with FlipIt & Manila LandScape (by WildBerry Team)
properly, the only problem it used about 80% memory and there is no hardware key setup.

I just find one more problem : I can't change the Prefix in the Camera setting & the image are not save to the Internal Storage/my document/my pictures.

You can't use the CE Star that comes with Diamond on 3.5 and 3.6 anymore.... You need to download the latest version from official homepage and that should be fine with 3.5/3.6

It will be because there is more memory allocated to the pool :p All I did was change the PP, nothing else (as dutty locks his roms anyway :( )

As far as I know the PP changer doesnt work on diamond roms. Open ANY rom and the changer will show a 6mb PP. I change the PP myself in a hex editor. You confirm this by having only 111mb total free RAM in the sys info. Its a couple of MB for a lot of speed, I can run tomtom, google maps and as many other things as I like and the RAM never goes below 20mb so more power to the PP.

Depends on a lot of things. Read through all the posts on the radio sticky at the top. Depends on your network.

Im on t-mobile UK and had good results with 1.09.25.23 but have switched to 1.08.25.20 yesterday as people report it has better battery life. All good so far.

But it does depend on so mnay thins

only 2 issues
1. I found in 3.6b, if you connect to a usb cable, the phone will automaticlly set to vibrate, but when i disconnect from usb, it cannot automaticlly back to ringer

i found that in the new roms the gmail settings had to be download by the app it self. when it does that i will give you the pop3 settings. But what we want is imap. So you have to manually add the gmail imap settings.
When you do that it should be fixed.

If you setup manual your connection then it will work instead of automatic connection settings.

I had this problem many times, so i went to manual and it began to work normally. Probably the Automatic Connections is setting up on My Work Network instead of My ISP.

For the proxy you have to setup under the My Work Network anyway.

If your on t-mobile the problem will be the proxy server. All connections, including T-Mobile devices themselves setup a proxy server but this doesnt work. Goto connections and disable the proxy for your t-mobile connection. You should be ok then.

Guys, I am updating a friends Diamond with 3.6b, all went well (previously had v3.4), but with 3.6b i cannot connect to activesync.

Thrawled though the thread found the Duttys USB ActiveSync fix.CAB, but this keeps failing on the installation.

Any ideas or other solutions ?

3.6b is just like 3.4 but without the memory leak. IMHO the most perfect rom I have tried (I tried a LOT!)

The screen stays on (no light sensor) and the shade comes down. Remember people, no chef will make a rom that caters for you all. So play with the registry yourself, easy with Advanced Config 3.3.

I personally like it to turn off when I place near my head and have the shade disabled. Just personal preference though. tweak it to how you like.

3.6b is just like 3.4 but without the memory leak. IMHO the most perfect rom I have tried (I tried a LOT!)



The screen stays on (no light sensor) and the shade comes down. Remember people, no chef will make a rom that caters for you all. So play with the registry yourself, easy with Advanced Config 3.3.

I personally like it to turn off when I place near my head and have the shade disabled. Just personal preference though. tweak it to how you like.

Completly agree. People dont expect the cooks build a ROM based on ypour particular preferences. There are tools to tweak the ROM, and to tweal Manila.... Use them !!!

As far as I know the PP changer doesnt work in any Diamond roms. It says its changed it but when I look in HEX it hasnt changed anything. So I do it with a HEX editor and this is possible as of 3.6b.

Never tried the 8mb pp version, went straight to 12mb and love it. No crash's so far. Unless your planning on running 20 apps at once you can give up a couple of MB for some speed. Also 12mb is the HTC default. People seem to think more memory means faster device, but it doesnt. It's not a PC with a swap file so more isnt better.

The problem i think is because if AS doesn't get added to Exclusive list, it will sit in your Task Manager and polling for event every "x" seconds. This scenario will sometimes give your phone hickups as it consumes resource everytimes it does that.

Solution: To make AS works, you just need to remove it from Exclusive list under Settings->Task Manager

I see your working now bu to confirm for others, I have no problems with Exchange. I use www.mail2web.com (free hosted exchange, you really should try it) and works flawlessly.

It sounds like your board is blown. I have 3.6b and activesync works fine on my vista machine and XP. The fact that its not working with the flash drive is also concerning. I suggest a hard reset (a HARD reset, not just pushing the red button).

For many I think the problem is your not upgrading properly. The process I follow that never fails is.

1. Copy over the image and upgrade with the internal method.
2. After flashing Hard reset selecting the option to reset AND format flash.
3. Setup and rock and roll.

I'm using version 3.6 and liking it a lot so far, except for these issues:
1) GPS not working or taking ages to get a fix. I used to use Beppe's ROM and the GPS worked perfectly, since moving to duttys (wich I in general think is much better) the GPS has been problematic. I updated the radio to .23 (used to use .05, tried many in between) tried to update the HARD-SPL to 1.93 Olinex, many (MANY) hard and soft resets and reflashings and nothing seems to work. Tried many suggestions in the forum but none has really solved the problem.
2) The button "hold call button" is gone from the button settings (i used to map it to Conection Manager).
3) I can not make my UC configuration file to work (I think the problem is the Internal Storage of the diamond). If someone could post a functional UC file so I could copy the syntax I would appreciate.

It seems like a lot but as I dont use the GPS very much Its not that big a deal (but it is a pain in the neck WHEN I realy need it).

Otherwise, as I said before, wonderfull ROM. Thank you very much Dutty for the hard work and the high quality product, for an awesome price!! ;-)

The right menu softkey sometimes stops working if you modify manilla, like add tabs (call history or calendar etc...) Have you changed Manilla? I suspect this is the problem.

I assume there is several different folders for each type of alert?

EDIT - Sussed. Simply add all the alert tones to the Windows folder and all ring tones to the My Ringtones folder.

where did you put them at?

if you want it for Alarm tones you need to copy the file into the window folder in the phone (i assume this is how you would fix the alert for SMS also)

Click on Start -> Settings -> Phone , select the tab called Time Zones and be sure to disable the ckeck box called "Automatica Change Time Zone and Clock" perhaps your carrier is playing with that attribute in your local network.

Perhaps you have turn on the "Asisted GPS" I was a victim of doing that and my GPS failed to work afterwards. I had to hard reset / flash again my device in order to make my GPS worked again.

Hi, this is not pertaining to Dutty's ROM per se. I'm currently on 3.6 12mbpp and previously 3.4, 3.5 and SwiftBlade's ROM.

On all occasions, in Contacts, I realised that the menu, Copy > To Contacts, To SIM. The To Sim is disabled. In Dutty's 3.6, the menu item is simply Copy Contact. How do I enable Copy To Sim? Or even Move To Sim if possible?

In Messaging, SMS/MMS, Inbox. The menu Tools > Manage Folders is disabled. How do I enable this? Or how do I create subfolders in Inbox so I can move some of my sms there?

The menu options seems a little different in different ROMs. Is this because of different OS build versions?

For MSVC issues try this. (Copied from another thread)

1) Install Microsoft voice command on your internal device you will have a error after setup but dont care about it..

2) go to INTERNAL DEVICE/program files/Voice command

and copy the voicecommand exe file.

3) go to My device/windows/starting menu/program/ ( its the folders where you have all youre programs shortcuts)

And PAST the VOICECOMMAND shortcut

4) go to setting choice buttons and set for buttons 1 your microsoft voice command application ( choice it in the list)

I simply installed this cab, went in my configuration to - Start, Settings,Connections, USB to PC, Untick "Enable faster data synchronisation" .... then I started Active Sync, went to Menu, Connections and made sure in the field is now 'USB.

If it doesn't work you could try to untick above "Synchronize all PCs using this connection" and tick it again.

Dutty, just thought I'd let you know that I've reflashed 3.6b and done a couple of hard-resets and soft-resets and everything now so far is great.

I'm loving the stability and responsiveness that I enjoyed with 3.4. Taking off HTC volume and Dialer does help with that if I'm honest.

My Exchange, AS, USB, MSN, BT and WiFi are all working fine - I know that others here are experiencing issues so I wonder if this is a SPL/Hardware issue.

Anyway many thanks and although I'll be keeping an eye on the board I don't suppose I'll be re-flashing my phone for a while now.

Gosh I can't remember where I got them here, but I know it started with getting annoyed with the time it takes for a call to come in and that used to freeze my TF3D for a good minute afterwards. It may have no affect for you and certainly doesn't 'speed up' the phone but I make/receive a LOT of calls so using the standard packages was definitely destroying my experience of Dutty's great Rom.

I decided to remove the HTC Dialer and apparently you have to remove Volume too as otherwise you have no in call volume control. You lose video calls but considering that they're ridulously expensive I never use them anyway.

I installed the following files (a quick search will find them) but remember to read up before you do the same in case it's not for you. They do uninstall though if you need to.

- SPC-XDA Diamondish WM Dialer
- Remove-Htcvolume-by-HallengreeN

Again, it won't speed up the general use of the phone but I found that it has stopped my unit freezing up due to the number of calls in and out during a day.

I disagree! It's a wonderful feature provided by Microsoft. Don't have a clue why they've changed it. As a result of this new "feature" you'll get problems with SPB and SBSH products.

Sure SPB and other programmers have no choice but to change their software since MS will not, but it's certainly no bug. Both companies produce very high quality software if you ask me.

yes there is a cab posted like 10-15 pages ago... it's called mUn zoom something. but for me it doesn't work witg 3.6b. the buttons is there..but they don't zoom.
but if you push the +/- button and flip over to another sms the text has changed...but that's not how it supposed to work. i want it to zoom in and out in the message im looking at. i dont wanna have to change message to get it zoomed.

Just to let everyone know I got a great deal on a contract with getting a Touch hd and it arrived this morning and I must say it really out power the diamond in speed and stabilty.

I will try and keep this thread updated but since I release a final rom and I already started cooking for hd I will do my best to update when thier is a major update available in the future

Well, I kind of suspect that this day will come. You have given us so many hints.

I have followed you from Kaiser to Diamond. I will miss all the fun and hours spent in keeping up with your great ROMs. On the other hand, I can finally stop flashing my Diamond.

I am looking at both the HD and the Sony Ericsson X1 (Xpedia). I know this may not be the right forum to ask you this question but anyway, here are the questions:

Will you be developing ROMs for the X1?
In your opinion, X1 or HD better?

Your comment will determine my final decision.

Use as USB and copy the DIAMIMG.nbh in your device and install it...

Messenger is working on 3.6b. Everyone, who have problems with it, try to hardreset your device.

yes there is a cab posted like 10-15 pages ago... it's called mUn zoom something. but for me it doesn't work witg 3.6b. the buttons is there..but they don't zoom.
but if you push the +/- button and flip over to another sms the text has changed...but that's not how it supposed to work. i want it to zoom in and out in the message im looking at. i dont wanna have to change message to get it zoomed.

if someone have solved this..pls post an answer

I think that you have misunderstood me. I am not looking for cab which fixes zoom in and zoom out in the SMS manila tab but zooming with SmartTouch (touch wheel) which make possible zooming in the sms message in the one note, in the mail... you got the point. Dutty wrote once that he's gonna fix it in new versions....

I have to correct myself. Live Messenger works fine on v3.6b using WiFi or phone Internet connection. It doesn't work using activesync USB connection.

So, for me, the problem has gone, since I don't use mobile messenger when I'm already connect with a PC.

Hi ericsson68 - after 3 hard resets, I can get the certificate but not sync.... Can you tell me what Hard SPL and radio versions you are using? Perhaps that may help. Interestingly 3.6 works fine but 3.6b smokes so would like to stick with it.

delete any file you have changed and the origional one will come back.
the manila files are cooked into the rom so you cant actually change the cooked file only tell the system to hide it and use the modified one. this is y you can delete the file and the one that was cooked with the rom will come back.

Some roms have implemented the patch for locking the volume control while the keys are locked. This one hasn't. Has anybody found a solution for this?

u can use the ROM in sweden, but it will not be in swedish. u can change the tf3d to swedish but whole OS is on english.

That's been due for a while, enjoy your HD mate, hope it's as good as it looks. I am jealous lol. Unfortunately not due a new contract till feb 2010 so will have the Diamond till then and the HD will be old news by that point, will have to see what handset you are using round that time :D

I have a question about the SMS contact section.. On the previous rom Versions, when I began to type a contact in the recipient line of an sms the suggestion appeared for my contact, and to the right there was an arrow that allowed me to flick through each contact starting in the letters i typed... Ie... If I typed e I could flick through the e's to the right contact.

This is not present in this version of the rom, there is just a ... at the end of the bar. Is this something that can me manually changed or just something not present on the rom as it really did make my Sms'ing easier!

The version thing is documented.

I prefer 3.6b, think it's a lot more stable than 3.6 and I've just noticed that the Omnia iPlayer hack works perfectly on this build too so I'm more than happy.

This is normal for all roms ive tested. Having tomtom installed wont use up more RAM unless its running. Why do you want more ram? What do you plan on running that uses up all that?

Im running 3.6b with 12mb PP and its rock solid and super fast. I dont use the changer as it will always show EVERY rom as 6mb, its just how it works. I prefer to change the PP in hex rather than with the tool.

Dutty just forgot to change the registry, nothing more. Its still 3.6 if thats what you installed.

I had that with 3.6 a lot, 3.6b is solid. Been running since release day and not a single problem.

After installing v3.6, there were some small things that annoyed me, so have made a cab to fix it, if anyone else is interested I have attached it here :).

Fixes and add-ons include in this cab v0.1:
Changed wrong version v3.5 to v3.6 Final.
Fixed Opera "Loading" screen not filling out whole screen.
Added 14 eT9 languages AND keyboard layouts (not in -eT9 version below).
Made PhoneShade transparent, looks better this way IMO.
Added commmanager to exclusive list, so it will not apear in task manager when hitting exit.

Hi, thanks for the help, but still doesn't work - I can see that the phone has created a new partnership with Exchange but I still get the error 0x85010013. Back to 3.6 and hope a new version pops out! :)

But if you want that back, do this:

Et voila! You have that little button back!

I've noticed since the upgrade that my phone runs hot. Its the bottom half that's hot, front and back.

Sorry about that, don't know what to suggest. That's an HTTP protocol error that I've never experienced. I have heard that disabling something on the server end temporarily can help to solve that one but I'm certainly no expert!

if you are copying and pasting directly, then delete the last char, that's a space.
