Ok Guys v1.5 is finished:)

I have done alot of tests on gps TO find problem and now I fix it. Problem for GPS is not in the Rom but I thought it over all day and found the solution this could be for every other cooked rom as well.


my tests Flashed rom hard reset and run gps test took over 4-6 mins to get GPS RUNNING. this is within my house near a window
Flash rom now with including Radio, hard reset run gps test, gps kicked in and running in 10 seconds, picked up 8 satelites within my house ,so problem is with radio not flashed at the same time with rom



So release will be tonight just checking some stuff over again

You will need an unsigned SPL to install this ROM. I am using 1.24 with no issues.

Will load it tomorrow, interesting about the GPS fix and the relation with the radio flashing. Maybe (hoping) it might solve some calibration issues also.

I have had the same issues with all of the roms (not only yours) i have tried regarding updating the weather. If i remove the proxy ip adress in the connection settings it works just fine.

seems the proxy settings are releated on your network provider service, with tmobile in uk, I have to disable proxy most of the times after a new rom flash

If you get a "mysql server connect" eror on the site.
Just try again, because of the massive crowd sometimes downloading suddenly one file. The MySQL server tends to get stressed.

I'm trying to find a permanent solution to this, but for now just be patience while I have a look at it and try to fix it.

- Opera Mobile Browser Build 1780

Just two semi-noob questions: :D

1) Will be a CAB version of them in your addon cabs site?

2) If yes, install them in your future 1.5 LITE version will not affect anything else with the ROM and will result in the same benhavior than the ones already embended in the FULL version?

Hi Guys,

I was trying to flash V1.5 this morning. All was going well until the upload got to 49%. The upload stopped and I got a communication error.

Now, all I have is the tricolour screen with the message 'Upgrade ROM code error' Please try again.

I do have one question for you though. With all you programming ability, can you not write/change something to cure one of biggest complaints??

That being.... while in phone app, we want to change the video call softkey to contacts softkey (or whatever the owner wants)

I'm not sure why this is difficult but then I'm not a programmer. That would definitely be on the top 10 list of mods needed.

Hi,

I had posted earlier regarding flashing problem, now OK.

After several attempts and restoring of the RUU, I got to 100%.

It appears that activesync was preventing the USB connection after the initial 'crash'; so I changed USB after hard reset of phone and restart of computer. This done the trick :-)

Trying to install V1.5, but when i start the update(final confirmation step) and the phone is restarted in "development mode" (or whatever its called, the red green and blue screen) it stops there and after a little while the update utility says:
ERROR [260] : CONNECTION
bla bla bla cannot connect to your PDA phone.
please check connection bla bla
Please check the following
1. The PDA Phone is connected to the USB cradle/cable.
2. The USB cradle/cable is connected to the PC.

Anyone knows what to do?
Ive flashed the phone with earlier versions of Dutty's several times before with no problems whatsoever, also SwiftBL

Otherwise is guess i'll have to stick with the old 1.4... :(

Hi Dutty,

I was wondering if there was a simpler tool for clearing GPS memory or buffer apart from the HTC GPS Tools.

The reason I ask is that the other day my GPS refused to function. It showed 14 red sat dots which was the previous image before I flashed to a new rom and although data was coming in these dots would not change no matter how long I left the GPS running and of course I followed your advice to hard reset after flash to restore defaults.

I tried everything, reflashed radio, hard reset, changed to stock rom etc. and then I read that by starting the HTC GPS Tool in cold mode might to the trick. Sure enough it did and all went back to normal. Obviously the tool cleared the memory or buffer but I was thinking that if there was a simpler tool to do this like the tools to clear RAM this may help to solve other GPS problems that people are facing i.e. slow degradation on lock times.

There is a small bug I'd like to report, which was spotted in V1.3 too, you might want to add a fix in your next release.

The font on the full QWERTY keyboard from a fresh boot is like MS Times New Roman, which is not the standard TFL3D font, but if you change to another keyboard like the Phone Keyboard then back, the font changes back to how it show be: Ariel. It's still functional, just looks a bit odd. I'll see if I can get a screenshot of it to show you.

This goes to Norwegian, Swedish, Danish & Finnish people.

To get our special charachters.

1. Install T9 Input 14 Languages Update.cab
2. Install Illodin Fin Keys T9.cab

Then you choose your lang and it will show ie: ÆØÅæøå on the screen. If you just install "T9 Input 14 Languages Update.cab", the charachters will work, but you can't see them.... (hope you get what I mean...)

Search for the cabs (they're on the forum)

there's a little thing bugging me in the contacts section. when i choose a letter it goes to the first contact with that letter and places it at the bottom of the list. So if i'm looking for "Jessy" and press J i will see all the contacts until J and the first one from J ("James") making me scroll down a little bit to find the contact. Is this fixable?

l.e.: I found out that this happens when i'm looking for a contact downwards (let's say i'm at A and loooking for J) but if i'm performing the search upwards (let's say i'm at Z and looking for J) it works fine. It depends if the contact you need is upper or downer.

After a fresh flash, when I follow the sign in process in Live Messenger, the last step ends with ''synchronization of personal settings failed'' error. After that I am not able to sign in Live Messenger. Repeating of the same process ends always with the same error. :(

When I flash the standard WWE-ME 1.93.456.2 ROM from HTC, I can sign in without any problems and use the Live Messenger.

Flashing again Dutty's FULL ROM (v1.5) ends again with the same error message for Live Messenger.

What could be the reason? Does anybody also problems with Live Messenger? What should I do to solve the problem? Any suggestions? :confused:

I did have 1 error exactly the same as yours when I first logged in after flashing V1.5, but after I tried again it was fine... not much help... but you can try signing in through USB maybe? Could be a network issue.

extracted the file and as soon as i try to run DiamondCustomRUU a killin message says: "The application failed to initiate (0XC0000135). Click OK to terminate the application" :mad:

am i missing something? is it possible to get that floating movement back?

This has been taken out from all 1.93 roms and higher, thus giving you better and faster speed, much better rom interms of stability with acknowledging that the pretty:cool: stuff had to go, I prefer my device stable and fast inpreference of a preety manila look. If you want it back you have to flash a rom,which is not 1.93 based

one noobish question: moving through manila (left/right or vice versa) there's no "floating" movement anymore: it goes from , say, Homescreen to Favorites in the blink of an eye without the famous default "floating" move.

am i missing something? is it possible to get that floating movement back?

very strange indeeed, but i have no windows live/messenger issue, you could try uncheck usb advace mode soft reset and see if that works, I have no idea as yet

any version of TF3D works with 1.93 ROM the difference between the TF3D's are the animation effects and .30 version that i said earlier has all the animation effects and works well with 1.93 ROM or any other ROM and before installing you should always uncheck TF3D on the Today screen throw Settings >>>> Today>>>> uncheck Touch Flo3D and after that begin with installation and it will take up to 5 --- 10 minutes till its finished and soft reset and u can always uninstall these versions and u will be back with the orignal version of the ROM that u use !!!

The only thing that's put me off keeping the Dutty ROMs and sticking with the standard ROM is that Internet Explorer opens up weblinks and suchlike in Dutty's, whereas the out-of-box roms use Opera. Since the newer Operas came out My 'set Opera as default' cab doesn't work, and neither did a registry change....

Does anyone know if this new Dutty ROM now uses Opera Mobile 9.5 to open weblinks etc? I wonder why anyone would wish to change to PIE: tis ugly and slow :-(

call history CAB will not work because this TF3D version is 1.2 and not 1.1.xxxx therefore call history only works with TF3D 1.1.xxxx. The TF3D 1.2 is taken (ripped of ) from Htc Raphael ROM so its not possible work around is to install another TF3D lower then 1.2 !!

just did as u suggested. got 03 manila and replaced it with the new_quick_but_dull_and_no_animate one:D

did also got Vodafone_red theme .....

removed the unwanted taps ...

and hey, this is now really beautiful , sexy , smooth and incredibly fast & stable !!!

So older/sexy versions of manila work perfect under this new built roms.

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if the round button can be used to scroll through lists by sweeping your finger around it like on a ipod or whatever.. Cause I was this video on youtube where a guy actually used it that way. I mean the "arrows" around it indicate that you would be able to do so but It doesn't work when ever I try it...

I had also started a topic about not being able to change the Reminders NOT to repeat. It seems this option is checked and greyed out? I would love it if it was possible to change that.

I used the alarm on Dutty's 1.4 and it repeated for me. I was using the bootupHTC sound as the alarm tone. I have yet to use the alarm with 1.5.

Hi bro just tested an alrm i set for 12.05 am and it alarm and repeatedly alarm for four times until i dismiss it, so I'm not sure whats causing urs not to work unless is a third party app ur using for alarms, but normal default alarms works 100%:)

Well....the alarm doesn't work again here...

The alarm issue is not from 3rd party applications, because it was the first thing I tested before installing or doing anything in the device...

The alarm rang 1 or 2 times...and then swtiched to Reminder, which beeped 3 times until the device enters in standby mode by himself...The, after a while, the device awakes and continues beeping with big intervals between each beep...
So it seems the Reminds are working more or less, but the alarm isn't...

This makes the alarm useless...

why don't u use Boinger66 advanced config? (of course you must first install Schap's 2.1 adv_cfg).

after installing, go to Advanced Config and there you can activate this cool feature (ipod-like scrolling by the round/enter button) for a series of situations (e.g. to scroll the programs, contacts, ...etc.). the interesting thing is that for each situation you can set the touch "sensitivity" as well. that's great.

I have a strange behaviour in my Diamond after installing your V1.5 Rom.
Sometimes when i send an sms, the icons showing the network type and the data connection show that i have no network at all, but only during 1 or 2 seconds (i suppose that it's while it is sending the sms), and then they go back to normal. The sms is correctly sent.
Has anybody seen this strange behaviour?

By the way, i have 3G turned off and no active data connection during this sequence of events.

you have to download a seperate cab for this, didnt include in rom as per users prefernces, also rom sounds can be found on the forum somewhere not sure where exactly though,

I skipped v1.4 cos of the Youtube issue - but one of the highlights of v1.4 was "Fixed Screen turning off during calls". I assume this fix passed on to v 1.5. Can u pls clarify wot u actually fixed?. All I want is my screen to stay ON during calls. Loaded v1.5 today and my screen still blanks during calls. So what did you actually fix? I am not trying to sound rude here. I just want my phone to work in a logical manner. Screen blanking during calls really pisses me off and I just cannot live with it.
So I am confused as to what u have actually fixed.

for all those of u who wish to assign your own choice of Soft_Keys.....

you can simply use this small but amazingly practical application (just remember to tick Diamond Mode when you're assigning the key - it's in there and you can see it , so please don't ask where it is :D)

as far as i know, it is the default behavior of all wm6.1 roms to Sleep during call or Fast Sleep during call. but you disable this behavior through advanced config.

Thanks, hopefully this is tha case. Will make the changes to my registry and see how I get on. So it seems dutty has fixed something to make it possible to turn the screen off during call without actually setting it to do so. Fingers crossed.

Since loading v1.5F gsen screen rotating software no longer works properly. It only rotates the Programs Screen and noting else. In the past it used to rotate any and all screens apart from programs set as exceptions. TomTom7 for example used to rotate and no longer does.

Does anyone else have this problem?

To verify it was not a software conflict with my config I just hard reset my unit. On recovery I installed nothing at all apart from GSen. Probalem is still there. I aslo tried loading it in main memory and internal storage and saw no difference.

I see other users are reporting similar with recent bepes roms. Could there be something new in these recent ROMs whcih is buggering up gsen?

Since loading v1.5F gsen screen rotating software no longer works properly. It only rotates the Programs Screen and noting else. In the past it used to rotate any and all screens apart from programs set as exceptions. TomTom7 for example used to rotate and no longer does.

Does anyone else have this problem?

To verify it was not a software conflict with my config I just hard reset my unit. On recovery I installed nothing at all apart from GSen. Probalem is still there. I aslo tried loading it in main memory and internal storage and saw no difference.

I see other users are reporting similar with recent bepes roms. Could there be something new in these recent ROMs whcih is buggering up gsen?

as far as i know, it is the default behavior of all wm6.1 roms to Sleep during call or Fast Sleep during call. but you disable this behavior through advanced config.

No mate we are talking about two different problems here that may or may not be related.
1)You have a problem with Opera not rotating. This may be ROM related or because you have not hard reset. Works fine for me.
2)My problem is that GSen is not working with this ROM except for on the Progrmas screen.

This is indeed weird as it works for me during calls, and i tested it more than once just called my operator and the screen stays on over a minute before i ended the call, so not sure if its device/hardware specific or not but it works for me:confused:,

But there is this bug that I have seen in several ROM's (not only Dutty's).

If you press&hold the hangup button (hw button down to the right) it will bring up a menu where you can choose LOCK DEVICE. This does not work... The phone blinks a little and goes to home screen....

I also looked in the registry and the parameter for auto-rotation is fine.

I dont seem to have any bugs at all with v1.5,so far so good.
I'm getting a gps lock in about 20 seconds from inside my house,opera rotates all the time.
This has go to be the best rom i've ever used :D

When I open an app and then I jump to somth else I have to run Task Mng to close the first app because it's working in beckground...when the phone is starting I can see the X but after TFLO loaded it's gone I tried without it again the same you can see X when the phone is loading ......

This is not just on Duttys rom but on many:

The FullQty gets stuck in number mode and does let you revert to ABC, the button does nothing.

It happens after typing a number etc. The only solution is to move to the old keyboard or reset keyboard language. (Which will then itself get stuck on numbers shortly thereafter)

Just want to report 1 thing, everytime I used you rom, the teeter becomes lagging. It doesnt happen in other cooked rom. That's why I believe some of your tweaks may affect the teeter (or other moving display) performance.

As of the screen wenn calling..works fine this way. The battery seems to last longer. I use my device in a normal way :D, some calling, surfing, mail and in the train watching vids. About 2 days and then i have to load again. But i am using an other radio then you ship. The 1.03.25.18! maybe that makes a difference as well?

Works here!? Do u use com 4 as setting for the TT? If You get a Quickgps it must be working then in all programs that use gps

Dutty I am not sure but perhaps you are overlooking the G Sensor or Light sensor in your testing of the screen going blank. Maybe you picked up the phone for your incoming call. You will get a different result if you pick the phone up and put it to your ear that if you leave it flat on the table and look at it.

If I leave my phone flat on a desk and call IN or OUT to it, the screen dims but not blanks at about 30 sec. I think the 30 sec timing starts at some time slightly other that when the call timer does because the dim happens at 25~35 sec and not exactly 30 on the call timer.
After this the screen stays on indefinitely which means your Fast Sleep and Sleep tweaks are actually working I suppose.

However if you pick up the phone, rotate it AND put your hand over the screen to cause the light sensor to detect a light reduction it will fully blank.

Check to see if this is what you get too

I am wondering if there is a REG key that would disable the G Sensor and or light sensor during calls?

For me at least, two things have to occur for the screen to blank in a call. 1) the phone has to be tilted to somewhere nearer vertical than flat and 2) the light level near the face of the phone has to reduce. One without the other and it does not blank. Might be easier if I just buy a torch and stick it in my ear. :D

BTW i think this issue was covered in the List of Diamond Tweaks (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265) thread in post 1 item 17.

Also fully appreciate that quite a few users like this feature. For me though my preference is to have the screen on 24/7 when in a call.

surprisingly, there in adv_cnfg, the related behaviors were are set to "Enabled" by default !! I was not surprised to see this for i wasn't aware that Dutty had tweaked them.

So there in adv_cnfg i changed them to "Disable".

now whether making or receiving a call the screen dims but does NOT go blank !!!

it's really amazing how on the same rom things act differently on different devices.

having said this, i should also add that even on my Hermes and Kaiser (after flashing zillions of roms) i have seen different results (whether by manually changing the registery or through adv_cnfg). i mean on some roms the tweak does what i want (and what i want, just like you, is to have the screen on 24/7) and on some roms the tweaks seem NOT to work %100 according to my will or tweaks.

you're telling me that the value always reverts to 1, right? could you kindly confirm that after tweaking the reg, what you actually do? i mean do u simply SR or do you power-off ?

i'm not sure if that might help, but i suppose you know that in some roms reg values revert back to the default when you SR , but they mostly stick when you do a complete power-off.

if you haven't done power-offs , do it and then see the result.

I am a huge fan... I just got my diamond 1 day ago and loaded your most excellent rom..

Everything is working great except I lost the ability to use the finger swiping on the screen inside mail messages. Before this rom update I was able to open a mail message and then take my finger and drag left or right to go to the next message. This functionality seems to have disappeared.

Can someone point me in the right direction to get this functionality back? via setting, regedit, what have you... Please go easy on me I used to be in the pocketpc scene back about 4 years ago and have just come off of a blackberry 8320.

Hello duttys, how comes i cant update the weather anymore??? when i try it says updating,but nothing happens,then connection error comes in saying cannot update. but my connection is ok when i sync my mail e.d.

Yes the same thing is happening to me. The weather updates once, then it refuses to update again. I temporarily solved by copying another version of 2330fc3c_manila back on top of the original which fixed it but only for one more update. Now it's broken again..

That manila file is the weather/cities/codes database - so it would seem that something is screwing it up once you do the very first weather download.. I wonder if it is the particular build of manila that you have cooked into the ROM that is corrupting that file. From what I can tell, using GPRS monitor, after the first update it doesn't even try and send any data out when you click update.

Anyway, apart from that it is a very nice ROM! Cheers :)

I have the same problem under 1.4 and 1.5.

I made the config change using Schaps config and soft reset the device but when you restart and look again in Schaps config the setting has changed back. e.g it was not saved (other settings are saved OK though!).

I also tried removing the battery after changing the setting (mentioned in this thread) but it still does not save the setting.

i also noticed that. but you know what, so far as i hate windows default Contacts program, i installed iContact (VGA version) and guess what : when you enable hide SIM contacts in iContact's settings, the SIM contacts do never show up again:cool:

give it a try, it's a really light and robust program and has zillions of more potentials than the default windows Contacts program.

here's the cab if you like (you may install this and then the Soft_key_manager - the one i gave the cab a few posts earlier), then change either left or right soft key of manila to Contacts and have loads of free_of_charge fun:D

hmmm not sure, when I have applied the necesary changes and files and fixes for v1.6, I give to couple who are affected by weather and beta testers, I'm pretty sure its related to the new rapahel manilla.

There are some keys there relating to the LSK and RSK - I think you can change them there although I haven't tried myself.

EDIT: Yes these are the keys just tried them myself and the changes show up whilst TF3D is active. You can edit them without shutting down TF3D and you will see the changes immediately.

I remember using a different diamond manila for the lite rom,
Also who have issues with weather upgrade using the full rom please use the lite rom to see if that work,:)

Thanks for the tip. I just tried it and it was OK until I did a soft reset and then the SIM contacts got displayed again. Interestingly though, when I looked at the iContact settings the "display SIM contacts" checkbox was empty, even though the SIM contacts were being displayed..

I just fix the hide sim contacts, so nex release it will be fixed :)

YES. this works. thank you so much. i hope these reghacks will persist after a SR. i made these reghacks and reinstalled WDE and when i added the custom citys of my choice they updated immidiatly. But i didnt wipe the weather.citylist stringvalue. anyways,good job my friend!!

I added these .reg in next rom thanks to salada2k using same manila build so hopefully all ok after when i release the beta tests, for some strange reasons I thought I fixed sthe hide sim contacts issue but whenever a soft reset the registry auto change to show sim x1:confused:
