Does anyone have a link to the skyfire Beta 2 cab? I'm not too hip on giving out my # to companies so they can "text" me a link

even if we give you the cab, you still have to log on, and I'm not sure if they let non beta testers log on.

Then you don't get it.

Once you have the cab you need to log into your account. Which is tied to your phone number.

Not to mention there is a huge waiting list to get it at all....

It does work pretty well... I hardly use it, but when I do it does everything nicely.

Not only that, but beta 2 hasn't started yet.

give the guy a chance! the file is everywhere on the net. Now, whether it will work or not, is up to you to test. It is basically a freeware, but it's also a beta release for registered testers only.

1 thing though, it won't work with wifi, only with GPRS, I heard.

here's the link:

it DOES work over Wifi ..

its private beta mening it wont work on any other device than the registered one. Unless somebody cracks this, ofcourse ;)

Ive also read that rendering takes place on their own server at the moment, so probbably too many beta testers would slow things down seriously..

I've used CNET100 as a code, and no link for me over a couple of days.

i used the cnet100 and it gave a text and email link right away. i too was on the waiting list for months. when i registered again with all the same info from before and this time with the beta code it was like i jumped in front of the line. it sent a link to my phone in text and in email. it loads quik and to be able to play flash video is amazing. doesnt scroll as nice as opera when zoomed in though. not sure why it worked for me but it does work.

If you're concerned about them texting you a link...

You should have a look at what their terms of service says about how they will use your browsing information! Someone posted it in a thread here a while ago.

It might be a great browser, with lots of features, but being texted a link is the least of my concerns with them!

Kind of stinks...my friend signed up for it and got his cab link in 5 days....and you guys have been waiting for such a long time...what the heck. I signed up recently and now that I see you guys have been waiting for so long I'm not going to expect it any time soon then.

I am running SKYFIRE beta 2 and I think the video feature is cool not only for youtube but for any other websites like news and sports. Another cool thing is that you can zoon in videos to full screen or even zoom part of you video screen. tap once and then incease or decrease zoom window without going to any menu or so.
-i have same device what skyfire used in their launch presentation, and videos play without any delay and skips.
-another plus point is that the browser only takes 5-7 mb of RAM (like opera runs on 20+ mb of RAM and still doesnt load pages exactly as desktop) to load full pages with built-in flash
-SKYFIRE IS THE FISTEST BROWSER I HAVE EVER USED. (avg pages load in 2-4 seconds with full flash contents whlie opera 9.5 used to take at least 20-25 seconds which was fastest for opera an some pages took more than a minute.

try it out you will love it. even though it lacks some features like tabs, viewing offline contents etc but who cares its FASTER AND DOESNT MESS UP

When I load the Home Page, this is showing:

Tell your friends to enter the Olympics code "phelps8" at http://www.skyfire.com/sign-up/beta2/ to download Skyfire now!

Hope this helps! :D

wow, i must admit, this browser is amazing. Webpages load much faster than opera mobile 9.5/mini. Pages come out stunningly clear and well presentable. Youtube works and plays FLAWLESSLY directly from the page, all the buttons on the player within flash work perfectly. Video plays very clearly as well.
Very amazing web browser and its only in Beta! This browser is definitely a keeper. The only thing that opera has over this is the smoother scrolling.

Great job skyfire team

That's really painful to see how complicated it is to get this browser. You got to give your number, receive mails, SMS, must be in the US, sign-in in a beta 5 months in advance, get secret codes...

:p

In the mean time, EU waits...
