All -

I posted in the two PDAVIET Mr. Hongkong threads about this, but as I've now loaded both and seen the same behavior (and no one answered yet), I realized I probably should have posted this question to the general group to begin with. Anyway, these ROMs have worked fine for me, but I cannot install ANY cabs. It always hangs on Installing Whatever...

I have seen this with some other ROMs (I've tested dozens over the last two years) in a very limited way, but usually getting a newer cab fixed it. I don't understand why none work for me now. Anyone know how to fix this so I can install apps to further test these ROMs?

Thanks

Perhaps you need to reflash. I have installed PDAVIET ROMS and have no such issue.

Try another SD Card (or reformat it, or at least find an alternative way to transfer files to the device). Sometimes a corrupt (but half working) SD Card can cause issues like this.

Thanks, folks. It appears it may be flash-related as molski said, as most installs off the internal memory are working. Interestingly, I can take that same SD card and use it in another G3 without problem. Maybe some ROMs are more picky than others, but for now I am going to reformat it.

Keep me updated....would like to see an issue like this solved in case anyone other has/gets the same problem.

Got another SD Card you can try in your device that is known good? If so, same issue (works not in your unit in works fine in another one)?

Further testing indicates it is in fact the SD. Maybe my limited success afterwards with another ROM was an anomaly, because now no ROMs allow installs off it. Formatting the SD card fixed it, though. Thanks again for your help with this (and it is good to see you back, BTW)!

Good to be back....and even better, your SD issue is fixed.
You can be lucky it wasn't the SD Slot itself that was defective! ;)
