I may do that; it's something I need to think about. What changes did you have in mind?
Well, first of all I would like to be able to create single alarms. The very first easy solution that comes to my mind is that when you don't choose a day at all, the alarm will be interpreted as a single alarm which will be actually implemented just by automatically setting it to the same day (if time is after current) or the day that follows (if time is before current) and then after the alarm deactivation it will delete itself or something. Also, the app has crashed with some exceptions while during a snooze I have flipped the phone over many times, also shaking it and so on. I got the txt file with the exceptions, however later I deleted it and uninstalled the whole program, because I was a little bit frustrated. Well, now I am sorry for that, maybe I hsould have given it another chance :) And also after the uninstallation of the alarm, the Windows alarm sound couldn't be set to repeat itself although the checkbox for that is ticked, so I had to Clear Storage my device :( I don't blame you. I for one am software developer and I know how difficult is to do something for free to people and they will complain nevertheless, so I think you have done a great job so far!
I don't have any Windows Mobile or .NET background, I am enterprise Java developer, but I have also written Java Mobile games in the past, so I am interested in mobile applications at all and why not start off by modifying an existing little project like this one :)
And sorry for my english - I know it is far from perfect :(

the alarm is awfually way way QUIET!
I finally had this happen to me this morning. I woke up anyways and hooked it up to a debugger. Basically this is happening due to what I think may be a bug in the SndPlayAsync/SndPlaySync API. I am not sure whether this is limited to just the HTC Touch Diamond. I was able to fix it by doing a soft reset. I haven't been able to reproduce it since.
I will try fixing this by using Windows Media Player to do sound playback, since that does not seem to be affected by this bug (it does not use that API).

Version 1.0.0.38
Added support for one time alarms: don't select any days, and when that time comes, the alarm will fire and automatically disable itself.
Klaxon now uses the Windows Media Player control to do sound playback. This should address any issues with the volume being too low when the alarm fires.
Fixed bug with setting alarms at midnight or noon.

It's the damn Home Screen Integration. Making the alarm show up in the TouchFlo 3D Home screen causes way too many problems: I have to schedule a simultaneous Windows Alarm to make it work. I need to figure out a way to make the next alarm show up in the home screen without the standard Windows alarm coming in and messing everything up.
Maybe you can do this by auto-setting a time event 5 seconds before the alarm, and it could just deactivate the WM alarm so when the time of Klaxon comes it rings alone. After that you could maybe set another time event setting the WM alarm again (for desktop display purposes)
A bit stuffy but may work.
BTW, I have set FLIP=Snooze and SHAKE=Off but SHAKING never does it work...when I SHAKE it snoozes as well. What kind of shake should it be? or maybe its a bug?
Thanks
Koush

Good suggestion, that was exactly what I was thinking about doing. It's a little hokey, but it would work...
Getting a little technical: A shake is considered a reading of 20 m/s^2 in the code (approximately 2Gs). Shaking it along the x or y axis should not allow it to snooze. The Z axis is perpendicular to the screen. If you shake it in that direction, the phone may interpret that as a "flip".

Hi,
wonderful alarm! Especially because it even shows the alarm time in homescreen and the easy switching off with gsensor!
But I also want to report a bug:
If alarm in Klaxon is disabled and I close Klaxon, the windows alarm activates itself and sets the alarm time to the current time.
This happens everytime I close Klaxon and Klaxon alarms are disabled.
I have Version 1.0.0.38 and a German XDA O2 Diamond. Klaxon is installed on the Internal Storage.

Koush, you said the screen always on during snooze is a design feature - could you explain that more? Do you mean that snoozing doesn't use the scheduler so you need the device not to be in sleep mode for snooze to work? If not, could you provide some option to choose whether the screen could be switched off by a timeout as usual - to me it seems the last thing that bothers me, otherwise the alarm is close to its perfection :)
P.S. And few more remarks:
1. Could you provide an option whether the particular alarm should also vibrate or not. The single alarms need that because I use them during daytime to remind myself for something not to awake and if it's crowded or noisy, I need the vibration as well.
2. Could you take the regional settings and show the time format (12/24) and first day of the week according to that? Here in Bulgaria we have 24hour format and Monday is our first day of the week. Also, when setting time, I have to click for each number flip. It would be easier if when I hold the stylus the numbers to change automatically.
3. Could you provide in options the possibility to specify a list of sound files which will then be used from a combo-box when setting alarm instead of browsing for a file each time.

The problem with the phone vibrating on alarm is that it can trigger a g-sensor shake or flip event. One of my test versions used to vibrate, and it would just vibrate and turn itself off because the phone thought it was shaken.
As for turning the screen off: once the alarm launches, it doesn't reschedule itself for snooze. It keeps the device out of the idle state (so it doesnt sleep), and the unfortunate side effect is that it keeps the screen on. I may be able to fix this by scheduling a wake up time for the device, and allowing it to sleep, but it may have some unwanted consequences.
Everyone asks for regional settings; I'll may get to it eventually, but it's not a very high priority in my opinion.
Specifying a drop down list of sound files is not that high a priority either. I will have a version that automatically opens the directory of the current/last sound file though so it's not so annoying.

Hi,
I hope you don't mind but i have a few things i would like to ask you about Klaxon.
Firstly, is there anyway you could add a 24hr clock option, as stupid as i sound i keep forgetting to alter the am/pm setting as required, i guess being a military type i'm just so used to the 24hr system. Of course i fully appreciate that this may not be a priority for you.
Secondly i've noticed a little quirck that i find a little awkward (for my purposes anyway), it's not a big thing mind. I have Klaxon set to snooze on flip which works perfectly, the thing i've noticed is that if once into snooze mode i turn the phone back over to have a 'peek' at how many minutes 'snooze time' i have remaining the snooze timer resets iself back to 10 minutes. Is it possible to stop this happening or is this what you intend? Idealy i'd like be to able to turn the phone over and see for example '4 minutes' left on the timer but as soon as i give the device a G sensor event of any kind it resets the timer.
Sorry to sound like i want the earth here, but i do feel that these changes may make your already great program just that little bit more user friendly.
All the best
Steve

Secondly when the alarm is in snooze mode the red 'OFF' button is not really visable on the screen meaning that you have to get the stylus out to touch the 2-3mm red area that is showing or use the phones mechanical keys to scroll down to 'off' You see in a large font the alarm title and alarm event time which doesn't leave enough screen space for both the green and red buttons, which when you are first thing in the moring groggy can be a little awkward. I have included a picture below to help explain what i mean.
Your alarm name is too long :p try shorter!

Hi and thanks for your nice program.
There are two options that I think are very useful in alarm programs:
1. A "force volume" option to cause the alarm to play even if the device is muted ... and after playing the alarm, restore the previous device sound setting.
2. A nice feature would be to be able to create a playlist (instead of a single music file) which the program would play randomly every time it wants to play a music file.
Thank you

What time are you trying to set it to? That's one of the problems with making each number changeable, it is possible to enter invalid times, like 13:00 AM.

Hi Koush,
I've a problem when the Phone Regional Setting is set to NON-English (Like Chinese / English).
Please see attach screen capture. Could you fix all regional setting in same screen just like the the English one?
And could you make the shake & flip action in configurable?
Like:
===
1) Shake: How many times of shake (Left to Right => Right to Left)
2) Flip: How many times of flip (180 degree = 1 filp, 360 degree = 2 filps, 720 degree = 4 filps).
And I think the Klaxon is near to perfect apps! Thank you for your great work!

I love this app... works like a charme.
Request:
1.)Make the UI more Diamond/Pro Style (Instead of the Bell Icon, use the tf3D clock or a Diamond symbol/ use inverse colours).
2.) Make the vibration feedback last a bit shorter. Espeacially when turning it off, I would prefer two short vibrations instead of two longer ones

One issue: alarm audio file is played only once, so if I choose a short file I maybe wont hear it playing the first(and the only) time... sometimes just one play isnt enough to wake up...
Is this by design? or can alarms be set to re-play each X minutes?

Just one more bug:
I have initially installed Klaxon in Internal Storage but later realized that there will be problems when connected to PC in data mode, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled in device. However now it seems the app keeps its old settings (probably in registry) and it hasn't overwritten them with the new location, so today I got a popup saying that it couldn't find "PowerStateOn". Could you provide an option on uninstall to remove all the settings from registry?
If Koush is busy, could anyone of you tell me some way to see the registry and modify it?

First of all, let me say that this is a fantastic program. Very clean interface and very nice use of the aceleromter. I will be sending you a donation for sure.
I have three small requests that I might have already been asked on this lengthy thread and that would make this almost a perfect alarm program (IMHO). First, if there was a way to adjust the volume of the alarm within the program itself it would be great.
Second,f you could allow for a vibration option within the program so that, for example, the alarm would vibrate for the first few seconds and then play the alarm tone. My blackberry does this and it works great because often the sound of the device vibrating is enough to wake me (but not anyone else in the room).
Third, I suspect this is by design, but for some reason, when the device is in snooze mode, it seems to override the sound profile that I have slected for the device. For example, when I go to sleep, I put the device into silent mode and Klaxon has no poroblem with that as it seems to override the profile only when the alarm goes off. When I turn the alarm off, the sound profile reverts back to the one I selected. However, if I snooze the device, it seems to continue to override the sound profile during the snooze period, meaning the device will vibrate, ring, etc., during the snooze period.
Again, the program is terrific even without these suggestions. Thanks for all of your hard work on it!

I had similar problems after installing and uninstalling. I got popup warnings during windows alarms even after the app was supposedly uninstalled.
Fixed it by reinstalling, soft reset, enabled home screen integration, soft reset, disabled home screen integration, soft reset, uninstall.
Not quite the same problem as you but hopefully you get the idea. :)

1) I will be adding a volume control to the next version (along with a new UI)
2) I can make it vibrate for a few seconds prior to it sounding the alarm.
3) I can make it revert the volume to it's previous value while it is snoozed. Right now it reverts when the alarm is shut off.
Also, for the people asking,
I know the uninstall isn't as clean as it should be-- it should unschedule all scheduled events and clean up the registry. But the missing "powerstateon" error message is benign. It will happen once, and then never happen again.

Interesting, it happened on my regular morning weekday alarm - the first one after I have reinstalled. I searched through the registry but couldn't find any suspicious absolute path or something. Tried to reproduce with the single alarms but with no success. Just in case I have deleted my alarms and recreated them since they were ones left from previous installation - maybe that contributed to the problem as well... I will see if my next regular alarm after 8 hours will make me problems again and will try your method then eventually :)
By the way - the popup which appeared was quite nasty as it didn't want to disappear with "OK", so I had to soft reset and it showed even after the soft reset, but could be closed with OK.

Sounds like the one I had, which occurred instead of the windows alarm at least two mornings running. I don't remember the exact wording unfortunately.
The first reinstall/uninstall didn't fix it but the second one did with the addition of more soft resets in the process. :)

Just got the idea hot to make all the sleepy people wake up in the morning.
If someone says that shaking the Jewel to turn off the alarm is not a good idea, because he won't wake up and fall asleep again, so maybe use a stylus sensor?
Just - pull out and put the stylus in again - I bet you will have to open your eyes to place it in again:p

Worry not, the time buttons are not too small: they are a rolodex/wheel control now; I didn't really like the split digit control. If you do a downwards gesture on the time, they start counting down really fast until you stop it again with your finger, sort of like on iPhone.

To me the alarm is almost perfect. Everything more I need is just cosmetic, so I am considering a donation as well :) Koush, please try to implement the 12/24 format while you are doing the new UI, the first day of week, and vibration at the beginning of alarm and you will have my donation ;)
Regarding the vibration - if it will mess up with the shake and flip sensors, you better not do it then. Or maybe switch off the sensing functionality while vibrating?
P.S. I like the new UI because it is mostly black and while the alarm is snoozine, the backlight will not be that irritating when it remains on as with the current white-red-green UI.

Great app and I'm happy the UI will be so nice !
But I've a problem with it... in fact I don't know if it really comes from klaxon or from WM itself, because before installing klaxon I had WM alarm set.
I've tested some klaxon alarm by adding/removing some alarm config and now, I've a alarm ringing at 8 am each working day. This alarm doesn't fire in klaxon but as a WM notification with "No text defined".
I've checked in Klaxon and in the "normal" wm alarm, and found nothing: there is no alarm configured at 8am.

This might have already been asked before. I searched for it but did not find anything hence my question.
This is the first time I have used Klaxon and its version 1.0.0.39. For the alarm sound I am using a Rooster wav file. When the alarm goes off the sound file does not play correctly it repeats itself before its finished so sounds like its stuttering.
On the first occasion it plays its fin, but after that the following happens:
Instead of Cock-a-doodle-doo it sounds like Cock-(pause)-Cock-a-doodle-doo
This happens regardless of where the sound file or Klaxon is stored.
Wav file attached, and any help from anyone is appreciated.

1) I made an Test Alarm with Home Screen Integration and had the Alarm showing up on the Home Screen. When i clicked the Clock, the standard WM Alarm Screen shows up with an WM Alarm at the same time like Klaxon too?!

I run appstodate and had a new fresh Kalxon update visible with minor version set to 39 (running .32).
Once I updated my phone start to lag after a while.
I rolled back the .32 version. Have to put up a warning here, I missed my bus for work this morning also.
The big change with the new version is that I had to switch to use Windows Media Player instead of the Sound APIs.
The Windows Mobile sound APIs are a real pain in the ass:
Standard Sound API has a volume bug where sometimes the sound is played very softly.
Windows Media Player has a bug where it prevents your program from exiting properly, causing a memory leak.
So, I have noticed this as well and am trying to figure out a fix that will make everyone happy.
I think I'm going to put in an option that allows people to choose whether they want to use the Windows Media Player to play their sound file or not, so that way the memory leak that sometimes happens will only affect the people who are affected by the volume bug.

Is it possible that you can trigger the alarm icon on the TF3D home panel once one of the alarms within Klaxon is active?
When can we expect the new version with the revised UI?

If I have S2U2 installed, the alarm wakes up the device (slide screen) and then int 2 sec the device goes back sleep without any alarm ringing. When I wake up the device after this the alarm sounds. Is there any fix for this? Or it is not meant to be used with screen locking applications?
Thanks!

I had two issues yesterday and today:
1. While the device was snoozing and sitting on the table I heard two vibrations and the app appeared to be closed. I am not using light sensor or shake sensor, so to me it is inexplicable what caused the device to think it should stop the alarm. In the log there is nothing peculiar.
2. Today it was almost the same, however this time I heard a single vibration and when I looked at the device, the snooze has reset itself to 10 minutes.
Regarding issue 2 - I am using the flip sensor, so maybe some fluctuations in the sensor might have caused it to think it had been flipped, but for issue 1 I don't have an explanation. And no, I don't believe in ghosts :)

I think it has to do with the GSens and Klaxon both uses GSensor. I had mem leaks with both isntalled (latest Klaxon) then I rolled back to older klaxon (.32) and it seemed to work a little longer but still some problems. then I uninstalled GSens and Klaxon works pure fine.

Maybe you should try to convert the wav file to an mp3? I dunno if klaxon supports mp3 files, but if so, it's worth a try. I had the same kind of stuttering problem (but with ringtone) and after I converted the wav to mp3, it worked for me.

I have noticed something else regarding Klaxon, it seems that once the alarm goes off the backlight remains constantly on and the device will not go back into standby until the alarm is turned off.
To save battery life it would be much better if the backlight was turned off and the device allowed to go into standby, if the alarm is snoozing.
If for some reason you are not able to let the device go into standby while snoozing, then at least let the backlight turn off to save some power.
By the way great app, but still I need a backup for now until the bugs have been ironed out. Thanks…
@ Koush, It might be a good idea to update the first post with problems that are posted by more than one user. It does not matter if you can replicate it or not, or if you have a solution or not. It will allow other users to instantly see if they have a similar issue.
@ sonnybravo, Thanks, I will give it a go but somehow I don’t this that’s the answer as the wav file plays fine through media player.

New features:
If you have a 480x640+ screen, you will see the new UI. It's pretty. Still have to skin the alarm form, but besides that, it is done.
Possibly fixed bug where Klaxon would stay resident in memory.
The number controls are now gesture based: you can flick them and they will scroll through their range quite rapidly!
You can now preview the alarm using the play button. (Only available in the new UI)
To Do:
Time localization (such as 24 hour mode).
Volume control.
Figure out a way to turn off the backlight, but also not allow the device to go into sleep mode when snoozing.
Fix sound looping issue.
Thanks to expo7 from XDA-Developers for the UI design!

Klaxon does not change what the HTC Home screen launches: to do that would require editing the manila.exe file, which fairly risky and can cause your phone to crash pretty bad. You can do that yourself, if you choose, by using the Manila editor also found on this forum.

The new UI is fantastic and super touch friendly.
One minor thing: I think the swipe control for the time setting is a bit too sensitive. Is it possible that you reduce the spinning speed a bit? In addition can you add some sort of panning? So if you tab and hold and then move your finger, that it slowly changes the numbers instead of starting spinning immediately?

Have you tried uninstalling Klaxon and then installing the new version?
I have just realised that Klaxon 2.0 released. I will try it. But the with the earlier version i hat this issue even after reinstall.
Is this a known bug and is this solved in 2.0?
Today at evening i have time to download and test this. Really hope that is solved.
For understanding:
What is the normal behavior with Home-Screen Integration and without the Integration....concerning the Icon+Time displayed on Home Screen AND concerning the WMAlarm (displayed when i click on the Home-Screen-Clock -> open the WM-Default-Alarm Interface). Is there needed to be a kind of "dummy" Alarm? When i looked at the WMAlarm, it has even sound setting, so didn't look like a dummy.
Please help my to understand what exactly is the right behavior of Klaxon with and without integration enablen, so i could figure out what exactly the wrong behavior is!
I am also interested in this, if the new Version solves the issue this evening!
....btw... the screenshot of the new UI really looks....WOW

Koush,
I was just thinking, rather than try and turn off the backlight it might be easier to just allow the device to go into sleep mode, thus saving even more power. The only problem I can see with doing this is that the countdown timer might stop counting down.
One possible way to resolve this might be to re-trigger it as another alarm and close the app. The re-trigger point would be the user defined snooze time.
Not having seen your code, but I think you schedule the next alarm after the user stops the current one. If that’s the case then you might be able to re-use that part of the code. If not, then I guess it’s a big change.
I try to keep the front page up to date... too busy to read through all these posts regularly though.
Apologies if I am creating more work for you than necessary, please feel free to ignore that suggestion, or only update when you can. If your keeping a list of known bugs, it might be as simple as copying that over.
One more potential bug I noticed is that the light sensor is continually logging to the log file while the alarm is snoozing, surely that is also a waste of resources and adding to battery consumption. I’ll attach my log file for you to look at if you get a chance.
P.S: Keep up the great work.
@ heretic,
Using GSen is a good idea as a temporary fix, but many people including me don’t use GSen as it creates more problems than it solves and conflicts with quite a few apps. But maybe Koush can look at the code and incorporate that into his app.

Yes, those are my thoughts exactly; I wouldn't schedule a new alarm (since the alarm form is already open, but I'd have to tell the device to wake up at the snooze time.
Remember, that hitting snooze can't close the form, and open a new one at a later time, because the user needs to be able to turn the alarm off while it is snoozed.
It's easy to schedule a wake up time, but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of unintended things that are going to happen when the device goes to sleep, such as message pumps stopping, sensors shutting down, etc. And they may need some sort of reinitialization. I'll have to look into it; it's not a hard fix, but a risky one.

It's hard to implement have a flick that controls both digits and a tap gesture that controls one. A flick will get you to the number you want so fast it defeats the need for the individual digit manipulation.

I've cut and paste my problem description from another post
i've noticed a little quirck that i find a little awkward (for my purposes anyway), it's not a big thing mind.
Many thanks, this is a great application and you really do deserve big praise for your efforts, i'm not trying to blow your trumpet by the way!!! donation inbound after payday.

I was thinking about adding a couple settings:
Add an option to not allow a user to snooze from a sensor event if you are already snoozing. This would fix what you describe.
Add an option to allow the user to turn the alarm off from a sensor event if it is snoozing. A lot of people want to be able to shake the phone while it is snoozing to turn it off, but I have that disabled for safety: the user can't accidentally turn the alarm off if it's in his pocket and he rolls over.

How about doing the following, when you flip your phone over to make it snooze, flip it back again, that way it will be face up and you can easily view the screen without touching it.

I still have the issue reported previously by a few others, when enabling home screen integration after disabling Klaxon, it sets an alarm to the current time via windows alarms. I have to disable home screen integration to get rid of it.
Ive tried a hard reset and clearing all files. I used SMMapa to link Klaxon to the home screen maybe that was the problem, bit Ive disabled that now and still the same. This occurred since last two releases. Im using Duttys V 1.6.

It's a gesture based control now: you can flick it with your thumb like it's a wheel, and it will change numbers very fast.
I would not agree. Sometimes it does strange things (changes numbers too fast, on the other hand it does not react - you have to push the screen more), while having individual number being set one by one was rather better and easier to utilize though.

Few more bugs and suggestions:
1. If I am setting a new alarm and I click on Play button before I have chosen a sound file, the program crashes and I have to soft reset.
2. Shake feature seems to not work for me at all.
3. Make the screen with "Off" and "Snooze" button comply with the new look, i.e. aliased black-white-gray color scheme.

HahaHandy

tested it and works well so far. new userinterface is nice.
some suggestions:
- a button to enable/disable the alarm at the first screen (where the overview of the alarms is).
- as already mentioned several times: 12/24 h support!
- when the phone is locked and the alarm begins, its not possible to switch of or snooze by taping on the screen (just the sensor). is it possible to unlock the screen for the period of the alarm?
- why do you begin with sunday as the first day? this doesnt annoy me, but is always strange to see :)
and theres still the bug, that when i disable the lkaxon alarm the windows alarm activates itself and sets the alarm to the current alarm.
so far, stay tuned :D

Either I'm too dumb, or I'm just not able to properly use the flick or swipe control for the numbers (in time).
If I want to set the alarm to 5.00AM, the only thing easy in that is flicking the PM to AM. Everything else takes time!
Love the new UI (maybe default the alarm tone to \Windows\Rings cuz almost everybody will use those sounds?)
Thanks for a beautiful new app.

I found just one more bug today - when I grabbed the phone to switch off the alarm sound, before being able to press the "OFF button" the phone vibrated once to show me the alarm is in snooze and then the image got enlarged vertically, so that the red area with the off button went almost off the screen. Only very tiny red area was visible at the very bottom of the screen. Strange fact was also that there was the windows bar at the bottom with keyboard icon at the middle to show me that I can open a keyboard to write...
This version is getting me crazy, can anyone send me the previous one because I can't find it :(

unfortunetly new ver 2.0 working muche worse then earley one.
1) shake function for snooze not working properly
2) sound file is only played once (i'm usinig alarm4.wav from spb time) so there is no possibility to get me awake ;)
3) integration with home scren not working - always it's bring up windows default alarm first (pop up window)
application is great but in my opinion first You shoul try to make it less buggy then try to make it looks nicer..

I think I'm going to go back to an older version of Klaxon, this new interface doesn't really do it for me.
It takes me longer to set the time using the new gesture controls than it did the old interface and I now have to tap the alarm, then the configure button to change an alarm as opposed to just tapping the alarm in the previous version.

I've tried re-installing and uninstalling several times, removing the alarms before uninstalling and disabling home-screen integration before uninstalling but nothing works. I'm getting a pop-up error each morning at the time that the Klaxon alarm was once set.
Can you help? Please can you publish a list of the files added and the registry keys modified?

This has already been discussed several times in this thread. Home screen 'integration' creates a fake WM alarm so that the alarm time shows on the today screen.
You can't make the home screen launch Klaxon without editing manila.

I've been doing a bit of digging and I think my problems are to do with the notification queue, as valkie posted above.
I also think Koush was right when he stated much earlier that the popups were a once-only problem - the reason I've been experiencing them on multiple days is that I've been re-installing Klaxon every day, trying to solve the problem!
Because the program doesn't delete its alarm settings on uninstall, on each reinstall it has been re-creating a problem entry in the notification queue for the following morning. I'm cautiously optimistic about having no popup tomorrow! :)

Maybe a crazy request - but this app could have it:
- I would like to have the possibility to have an "hour clock". So every hour it just gives a sound to let you know what time it is. Something like a very modern grandfather clock.. (Or like the clock with the little bird coming out every hour):):)
does it make any sense?

Implemented new skin for the actual Alarm form.
Fixed bug where editing alarms that took place on the noon or midnight hours were bugged.
Vibrations are now 150 and 300 ms instead of 500ms.
Windows Alarms are now schedule with no sound, so all the user may see is a notification (if Home Screen integration is enabled)
Fixed bug where One Time alarms did not show up on the Home Screen.
Implemented 24 hour mode (on the reskinned forms only)
Possibly bug where wav files were not looping.
Additional Todos

Hi,
there I love your wakeup-tool, it's really amazing.
But I miss just one thing (or maybe I didn't figure out how it works):
If the alarm goes on and I've set it to sound for 4 minutes (for example) then the app will shut down the alarm, right?
But for me it would be much better that the app only goes into to "snooze-mode" after the 4 minutes so I'm forced to take my diamond and tab to the screen to shut down the alarm completely ;)

How come I don't see any complaints of people not liking the swipe way of setting the time? I find it so hard to do that! I try to go to 5, and it goes above or below and then I have to go real slow for it to go to 5, etc etc.
Also, the alarm default folder should be /windows/rings because, well, firstly there's no default alarm for quick setup, next not everyone wants a custom mp3 for alarm. :)

You can still click the time to make it go up and down one at a time... you can also click and drag to change the number slowly.
So, it's swipe, drag, OR click. It's meant to allow you to change the numbers very fast or very precisely.

My only other minor annoyance with this version is that we've lost the ability to just tap an alarm to edit it, you now have to tap the menu then tap the configure button. Any chance of re-introducing the old way of tapping the alarm to edit it?

Request/idea:
I'm having kind of a hard time setting snooze/expire/delay (maybe just my fingers...). Since you are not even using half the screen why not put the settings beneath description and enlarge setting/touch-space?
What also would be great would be a fast-forward on hold / could also think of this on setting alarm-time.

Hi i was wondering if you'd had a chance to look at implementing the option to not allow a user to snooze from a sensor event if you are already snoozing. This would fix what you describe. I updated today and i'm still impressed but this one issue of mine is driving me bonkers in the morning!!!!
Just as a reminder of my problem, here it is again -
I have Klaxon set to snooze on flip which works perfectly, the thing i've noticed is that if once into snooze mode i turn the phone back over to have a 'peek' at how many minutes 'snooze time' i have remaining the snooze timer resets iself back to 10 minutes. Is it possible to stop this happening or is this what you intend? Idealy i'd like be to able to turn the phone over and see for example '4 minutes' left on the timer but as soon as i give the device a G sensor event of any kind it resets the timer.
I know i've mentioned this before and i don't mean to go on about it, but i just know you have loads of things to work on and i just want to keep this idea fresh.
Many thanks

Im using your version from 30.August, because since the new skin Im experiencing a problem.
Every time I want to add a new alarm, when I hit the final button - in the upper right corner to confirm the new alarm, Klaxon just quits. The alarm is not saved. I tried different sounds, settings..no luck.
When I leave my registry from the old klaxon, and install the new one, the alarms from the old one are shown, and they work. I just cant add new ones...
Feature request: Also I would like to have a setting for a default ringtone, so that I dont have to browse for it every time I set a new alarm.

Love the new looks of this fantastic program!
However, while I’m snoozing, the time freezes at the alarm time during the whole snooze period, making it impossible to follow the actual time... And I also miss the great “x-min. left of snooze period” from the earlier version...

Love the new looks of this fantastic program!
However, while I’m snoozing, the time freezes at the alarm time during the whole snooze period, making it impossible to follow the actual time... And I also miss the great “x-min. left of snooze period” from the earlier version...
Yes i second that, i did like seeing how much 'snooze time' i had remaining!!!

Klaxon uses the first Windows Alarm for home screen integration. You can use the 2nd and 3rd ones still. Or just disabled home screen integration.

Hi
First of all thank you to develop this fantastic Alarm clock
I found a small bug in the new UI.
I use the 24h clock and Klaxon display the time and the second like 22.08.06
in both form
I think it should only display the time without the seconds
see attached screenshot and logs
Thanks

Exactly the same happens on Touch Pro with DCS v14 ROM.
It also closes with no warning message when I try to select a sound file from MicroSD card...

Hi, I love your program, but I have a minor bug:
When I enter a title for an alarm which is longer than 8 letters and the alarm goes off, the title is wraped in two lines and I don't see the the off-button.
Really a small issue.
Thank's for your great work :)

Great program, especially considering how unusually $hite the built in WM6.1 alarm is. The only deal breaker for me though is the fact that by clicking on the alarm or clock on the TF3d screen, it loads up Windows alarms, and thus screws around with the Klaxon settings. Maybe its just me, but I tend to accidently get into the alarms screen pretty much every day.
There's a piece of software called SSMaPa doing the rounds on this forum that can change the default app used when clicking on items such as the alarm. That particuar piece of software is in shoddy condition though so I won't go near it. But something like this could possibly be a built-in feature in Klaxon some day? Then the homescreen integration would be perfect! And I won't be accidently going into windows alarms...
Of course, thanks for all the hard work!

Hi,
My klaxon when activated the windows alarm active too, and I have the sound of windows alarm first, and then goes the sound of Klaxon, after this is a mix of both alarms! The klaxon must be play alone, right!
Some suggesting:
Option for the week begin in Monday. (most of ocidental euripean people prefer that)
Change directly the options without enter the alarme options, like windows alarm.
The coler between gray and white or day activated or not are too similiar.
Good job..

GREAT application Koush!
I was reluctant to test it, since I use SPB Time and since the original Klaxon idea (1.0.0.0) wasn't something THAT great for me (I like my g-sensor, but don't want to overuse it for everything - sorry tastes differ), but now your app really looks like a complete package!
Since the topic is now 46 pages, I haven't yet read them all (so I am sorry if I repeat things), but I already have a list of proposals/ideas/bugs that came to me in the first 3' I tested this! Hope it helps you improving it.
There you are:
(important in bold)
- How today integration works? (Edits the first alarm for each next alarm? because that is how it looks like...)
- Tap and hold an existing alarm should edit it.
- Unselected days should be a color even closer to background, so that it is clear which days are not selected at first sight and even in bright light conditions and wider screen angle.
- There should be some way to see which alarm sound is already selected, not by playing it but by name.
- "Snoose" and "off" (sensor) settings could be separate per alarm (but following a default).
- PLEASE include some timer and countdown modes (a la SPB Time).
- Should use a default (system) sound if user doesn't set one!!!
- Does it override system audio settings? It should definitely do that!
- When you click snooze it should kill the klaxon screen until it rings again (why keep it on?).
- "Off" should definitely be much smaller than snooze, for the simple reason that you want off to be more difficult to press than snooze! (you need to be wake to click it!)
- Planning to include incrementing volume?
- The alarm should also have a setting to make vibration while ringing!
- BUG: Deleting your alarms doesn't disable the system alarm entry (and still shows in TF3D!)
- Hope someone finds a way to "steal" the main TF3D tap and start Klaxon instead of WM alarm applet (ask SSMaPa guy how he does this?).
Keep up the good work!

Version 2.0.0.9
Implemented About Box
Implemented the Snooze countdown on the alarm form.
On the Alarm List form, days that are not scheduled to start the alarm are now a darker color than they were before.
Fixed bug where deleting all the alarms would not remove the alarm from the TouchFlo Home Screen.
Fixed the sound looping bug once and for all! Found a not so well documented "loop" API hidden off the WindowsMediaPlayer.settings.setMode method.
Fixed bug where seconds showed up on the alarms in the list form and the alarm itself.

I can now use this and add new alarms on my HTC Raphael.
Just a couple of issues:

- When home screen integration is used, if you turn the alarm off, a windows alarm is enabled for the time you turned the alarm off
Cheers

Great update!
This one fixed almost all the issues I had :D
There are only three things that remain and one suggestion:
1.) Touch Scrolling in the file explorer is super slow (flick and scroll)... when trying to scroll through files like this it just advances about 2 or 4 files... and very slow :(
2.) When shaking the device to stop an alarm, I need to shake the Pro quite a lot to make it stop... I have no clue why. Can you make it more sensitive?
3.) When editing an alarm, can you reduce the size of the titel but increase the size of the clock to change the time? My thumb is not the smallest and I still have issues to select the time quickly and pricisely. It would be nice to make the scrolling throuch the numbers a little bit less sensitive/quick...
Suggestion: Clickin on a specific alarm in the alarm list should open it right away to edit it instead having to click on the "note" icon as well :)
Awesome application :D I love it !!!!

This is done using SSMaPa I believe (Manila Patcher). I don't want to risk patching people's manilas in my setup, so I'll leave it up to you guys to do it yourself. :)
I would recommend downloading SSMaPa and configuring it yourself, rather than using someone else's Manila exe.

I searched in this thread but didn't find an answer.
My problem is that I have the password screen lock active and when the alarm fire, the klaxon's window stay behind the one with the keypad to enter the password to unlock the device. Is it possible to have something like the wm6 alarm (a popup showing on top of all windows)? In that way I don't have to unlock my device to stop the alarm. Actually I flip the phone to snooze, than I stop the alarm. (just to avoid to wakeup my g/f with a long and loud alarm)
Maybe generating a fake appointment or task should do the trick (i saw a similar thing with an alarm software for the symbian device), but I don't know if is applicable because you have to change the bottom bar buttons (ignore, menu) with the klaxon's ones.
Thanks and keep up the good work :)

This is still an issue in the 2.0.9 release I am afraid.
Also - a feature request. Trying to find an MP3 file every time seems a bit cumbersome. It would be great if the app would just choose alarm1.wav or whatever is always in the system (or bundle with your app) so that at least it works if I don't want to bother with finding the right tune for my alarm...

Great app., work fine compliment, but only 2 problems still to solve for me:
1) When alarm goes on the OFF button on the screen is too much large (dangerous if i touch it for mistake). I think is better (and more safe) to have a very large SNOOZE button and a small OFF button.
2) When alarm play, if i don't ear it (ie if my sleep is very deep) i don't do any snooze action; in this case the alarm play only one time then go off definitively. This is very dangerous because i lose the possibility to awake me. Is possible to add an option "auto snoozing" (the alarm goes into sleep mode also if i don't do any action, until i press the OFF button to stop definitively).
Thank you for your attention and sorry for my english...:)

This bug will be fixed by allowing people to make their own Klaxon skins, see below:
Upcoming features:
I've noted the Home Screen bug, and will be looking at it again tonight.
Default alarm will be Alarm5.wav
I'm going to allow the selection of playlist files too. So if you use playlists with Windows Media Player, you can select it in Klaxon.
Klaxon will allow custom skins: all the images that it loads will be available and editable in the Klaxon installation directory. (pretty simple change to make)

Really hope you look the other things I noted too - esp. override audio settings, *** off should be much smaller than snooze *** (ok even in default skin, since you are planning to implement skins), vibration, incrimental volume (goes with override audio settings I guess) and of course, kill Klaxon screen after snooze until next ring... ah and some chronometers with laps, some countdown timers... nice things simple to make hehehe (to save you from going 3 pages back to read me :D :D :D)
(btw, works great with SSMaPa and in fact really "pushes" the program forward)

Koush, I am still getting a very strange behavior - I have disabled light and shake sensors and have left only the flip. After I flip to snooze, the device vibrates once and supposedly goes into snooze but after a while without touch or anything just by itself it vibrates twice and then the alarm is off :(
I am attaching the log. I am looking at the log and I can't see anything strange. Could it be that when I flip the phone down, the hard surface beneath (it's a wicker chair) pushes the OFF button?

Dude - great app, love the new UI
A quick request for your consideration - any chance we could have an option to set a default alarm tune, so if we want to just set a quick alarm for something we don't have to go and pick a track?
Also, in the same vein as the above request, could we have an option to choose default days - I've set a few alarms recently and forgot to select which day it should activate on. For me, I'd prefer it to assume I want the alarm to go off every day unless I deselect them - at least then it will sound on the day I need it.
But these are just "icing on the cake" requests - I'm very gratefull for what you've done - thanks :-)

I looked at your log, and something other than a sensor is closing the form (meaning it is probably the button). So that is probably what is happening. I have improved the logging in that area to help track down your issue. Please download the version I just released (not much has changed, only logging and some performance tweaks) and send me another log file in a day or two!

Just tried 2.0.0.10 and can confirm that the sound looping issue has been fixed. Many thanks...
The application is now nearly perfect apart from the following: -
1. It still needs some way of going into standby when snoozing to save battery power.
2. While snoozing, the snooze time will reset itself whenever the device is moved. This should be disabled and the snooze time should continue to countdown unless the user physically turns off the alarm by pressing the onscreen button.
3. Allow the option to stop creating a log file. Once a user is happy with the way the application works there is no needs for this debug tool.
I also have a couple of GUI suggestions (All minor issues): -
1. The icons along the bottom are not very clear.
New alarm could be like the edit icon with a plus or star in the corner.
The delete icon could be like a recycle bin.
When setting up a new alarm the ‘Cog’ is meaningless maybe reuse the tools icon.
When clicking on the ‘Cog’ icon the back button is displayed at the top, should this not be a Tick?
2. Kinetic finger scrolling needs to be implemented when searching for an alarm sound, or optionally allow one default sound to be set for every alarm.
Do users have different sounds for different alarms? If yes then at least open back in the last folder where you selected your previous alarm sound.
Apologies if any of this has been covered before, I have not had time to catch up with your updates.
P.S Mine seems to be working fine installed to the internal storage rather than the program memory!
