Hallo (Bepe)

I have a HTC Touch Diamond and my rom was RUU_Diamond_HTC_GER_1.37.407.2_Radio_Signed_Diamon d_52.26a.25.09_1.00.25.03_Ship

and my GPS functionality was perfect. :) with TomTom 7

Now i have Diamond_bElite_Premium_0.95_0407 rom, and Diamond_Radio_1.00.25.05 because was recommended. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407956

Now my GPS not works, why??

I have Check with HTC GPS Tool and GNS Test, no GPS signal.

QuickGPS update 6 Days an 23 h

I think the problem is the Diamond_Radio_1.00.25.05 why not works with the internal GPS. It's very strange.

Anybody have the same problems ???

Do you think you can resolve this problem ???

Have you tried another radio with the same ROM?
Did you use VOIP? It has a tendency to break GPS (hard boot fixes the issue)

I have a custom built ROM based on 20273 (with 15965 elements) with radio .11
GPS works fine. It DOES take some time to get a fix the first time, but afterwards, it swooshes.
^.^

IF another radio doesn't work, check if the issue persists with another ROM but with radio .05.

Always hard reset after flashing a new rom. It fixes many problems. This advice is given by Duttythroy.

I'am using this radio ROM with 1.37.406.1FRE.
GPS works fine ! At least, 1.00.25.05 is a very good Radio ROM.

I don't think GPS has anything to do with the Radio since it is not a transmitting device. It's another problem. Have you checked windows manages GPS port?

....

When the HTC trinity was release in Europe it had a Radio ROM of 1.23.** with this ROM the GPS did not function. With the release of Radio ROM 1.38.** the device now had GPS capability. Do you still think the RADIO ROM has nothing to do with GPS?

I've had the same issues after upgrading the Radio ROM... The two are DEFINITELY connected as in the Radio ROM has something in it that affects GPS.

Anyway, as stated in other threads and here (ALWAYS hard reset after upgrading the Radio ROM, even though you dont have to, its best that you do.

Then run GPSTool, choose COM4, baud 4800, press 'Open' then once you see data in the bottom half of the screen (thats your GPS talking!) choose 'Cold Start' from the drop down box and then press 'Nav Init'.

Now leave it like this for a few minutes (outside!) and then press the satellites tab at the bottom, as long as you can at least see some red dots (satellites) on the globe (earth) then your GPS IS WORKING. Dont worry if it says Mode 2: No fix available - as I dont know about the rest of you but Ive never seen this tool get a 'fix'.

Now once you've let it do that for a while and verified some red dots on the satellites screen then you should be able to close the tool, and start TomTom and just be a little patient maybe and then you will start seeing some activity.

A little note: Be somewhere with at LEAST 60% sky view when you're doing this as you've reset all the nav data and the initial process of locking on satellites from 'cold' can take a while, but once you've locked on eventually the next time it should be a little quicker. As usual YMMV but at least this has worked for me and I've had no end of trouble with the GPS after doing Radio ROM updates.

Good luck.
