For those people in Australia using Telstra and wanted the 3.5G radio support, I finally got my hands on one that support the Telstra NextG HTC Diamond.
Base Rom: 1.38.841.5 WWE
Radio Rom: 1.00.25.06 (not the same version from previous post as this one is NextG specific)
I am sure most of the people would like to try this rom... if someone can show me the way the extract these roms I will be more than happy to post it for testing.

This would be good to try, but since it has the same version number as the one posted in the Radios thread, I wonder if/how it is different?

I will mark it as AUS version.
But before anything happen, I do need to know how to extract this out and make it work for everyone. Any ideas?

Thanks Guys, is it possable to also get the rom, rom and radio split as original without region tampering....can be kept as a backup for those in Aus that may want to revert back after cooking.
Is the bootloader available as well.
Again many thanks, you guys and your experties is allways appreciated.

Go to Setting / Phone, under the Band Tab, choose WCDMA and UTMS (850)+GSM(900+1800)
If you still can get signal and get a H then you are winning.

under the HongKong Rom
In Australia with telstra Nextg service
greyed box h and 3testra in tflo home provider spot setting are both auto
under phone settings only UMTS(900+12000 + GSM (900+1800) avail
set to the WCDMA and UMTS 900 from auto..
have a greyed box h and 3testra in tflo home provider spot
switched back to auto got 3g in grey box then after 20 seconds now have E in box have only testra under service in tflo home
Now under auto and even running connections setup I cant get back to my original greyed box h and 3testra in tflo home provider spot and have E in box and Telstra as provider under auto.[Have even set 3telstra as preffered over telstra in network band settings
edit:
set provider to manual ...chose 3telstra over telstra...then conection setup for setting etc ....ok [have H] then went back and chose auto now still have H and 3telstra with all options now on auto
should H be in grey box or just H

I also have the HK ROM with a Telstra NextGen USIM, and here is what I think is happening.
Telstra has 3 networks:
* Telstra NextGen 3G UMTS - 850MHz - Mobile network Code 505-01
* Telstra GSM - 900/1800 MHz (EDGE/GPRS) - Mobile Network Code 505-01
* Telstra 3G UMTS - 2100MHz (JV network with 'Three') Mobile Network Code 505-06 (code is shared with Hutchinson '3')
The best way to tell exactly what Telstra network you are on is by looking at the Network name in the 3DTF Home Screen
Telstra (with an E or G icon) is the 900/1800MHz GSM network
Telstra (with 3G or H icon) is the NextG 850MHz network
3Telstra (with 3G or H icon) is the '3' joint venture 2100MHz network
I am eagerly awaiting the new Telstra ROM or at least the radio ROM. So my question is, has anyone got (a non-Telstra Touch Diamond) working on 850MHz yet ? Does the new radio ROM give access to Telstra 850MHz ?

hi, like a few of us here with the Telstra, no 3g is a real pain in the @#$$. I did buy a diamond knowing that Telstra would also release them one day.
Was hoping they would be the same phone... I am on my last month of current contract and could grab a "Telstra Diamond" if needed as well, (then sell my current one?) wish we could get this band/hardware issue sorted before I sign up (payments) even though I'm on a great plan.
Miss the video call and data speed, even considered going back to my trusty kaiser or hermes, but just put it up on ebay.
just my 2 cents

If it is indeed a seperate Tab I like the idea of somehow recreating it and placing my own Hutch3 shortcuts on it. My3, Planet3 and so on.

i have a UK edition TD, ive flashed rom 1.93 for the faster TF3D.
if i leave my band settings in auto mode, and limit my network to "Telstra" (uncheck 3Telstra) i can connect and get a H icon.
judging by 2395's details this is on the NextG network...
is anyone able to help me confirming this? is there a way i can confirm to you guys that this is on the 850MHz NextG network?

the GSM / UTMS Band MUST be on UMTS(850+1900)+GSM(850+1900) for the Telstra NextG to function correctly.

no, for f**k sake, that is to FORCE the diamond to use those bands, but its not 100% correct. the only way to check, is to load the 1.00.25.06 radio, type in *#*#364#*#* and check the BAND that you are on, and even then it WILL ONLY SHOW YOU THE GSM BAND!

type in *#*#364#*#* and check the BAND that you are on, and even then it WILL ONLY SHOW YOU THE GSM BAND!
That will also show you the network number as well, so If you've locked UMTS to 850 and you get the Telstra network number (not the 3Telstra one) while connected in 3g you've on NextG.

Think you mis-interpreted what I was trying to say dude. I already have a Telstra Diamond and am wanting to improve the performance, battery life and functionality of the phone with a cooked rom.
I'm saying is there any chance that we can get a cooked ROM - still on the 850MHz NextG network (with tweaks, improvements etc found in say for instance: duttythroy's rom) but on our Telstra branded Diamonds??? So a ROM cooked specifically for our DIAM110s that works on the NextG network.
Basically not wanting to miss out on making the most of the phone just because we have slightly different hardware compared to those with DIAM100s.
Cheers,
Byron.

From my understanding of the Cooked Roms. Most of them dont upgrade or change the Radio Settings in anyway, Only teh OS and applications and what not.
So If this is correct you could add the Elite 2.0 or 3.0 without loosing your "nextG" bands

So, let me ask...
If you have a Telstra DIAM130 Diamond with the stock (presumably .06) Radio ROM, what GSM and 3G bands do you get?
Obviously, its capable of 850 3G. But does it still have the ability to do 2100 3G? Does it still have quad-band GSM capability with the stock ROM? If so, is it possible to buy one without a contract? I'd buy one for use here on AT&T in the US if that's the case.
If NOT, then can it still be flashed with the other radios here to get the other bands if not with the stock?
Thanks!

Does the bootloader pick up the model type ie Diam100 or 130 etc [load screen with three colors] or is it a bootloader differance....can we bootloader copy from 130 to 100 and would there be an advantage [or is this just way of based upon my meager knowledge]

I think what Walshieau was trying to say is that the HW included in DIAM130 is incompatible with the current SW unless someone develops a new HardSPL that will work with it. It looks to me that Telstra made sure that people won't be able to port mobile phones to other carriers. At least as far as 3G is concerned. I'm sure GSM should work regardless, which HW is used, DIAM100 or DIAM130.

And to CONNECT TO TELSTRA NEXTG at the moment you need a DIAM130!

Well I think it's been established that the hardware is definitely different but before I sell/return my DIAM100 I would really like to confirm absolutely that it will never connect to NextG... some ppl here may feel that they've done this - but as per my previous post, clarity is easily lost with a few short words.
So I ask kindly for some confirmation - is the hardware installed in the DIAM100 definitely not ever capable of connecting to Telstra's NextG network ?

Well, thanks to walshieau's confirmation I flashed my DIAM130 with HardSPL 1.34 and it works fine...
Although I've just noticed that there is LCD 'cloudyness' and miscolouration right where my on screen keyboard enable button is... damn i'm pissed. You can make it out on a full white screen. Yellowish colour.
Seems I'll need to downgrade it and flash the old SPL back and return it under warranty.

then try HardSPL 1.93 that fixes the screen issues.

UPDATE 2: 1.93 Hard-SPL
(placeholder for now, but you can already download unsigned version in the Developer HardSPL thread!)
if someone's diamond came with 1.93 SPL originally, maybe this HardSPL based on 1.93 will work better than the olders. I have a report that someone has black screen with older SPL's.
but even if your diamond didn't come with 1.93 stock, but 1.37/1.38 doesn't fix screen problems (fuzzy screen, flickering, etc.), it is recommended to try this 1.93 HardSPL.
if your diamond works fine with original HardSPL, no need to flash this one.
Yeah I don't think it matches this problem. I'm pretty sure it will be a manufacturing defect, possibly pressure on the bottom of the screen.
It is visible on the alignment screen.

I do have one of the new Telstra Branded Diamonds that work on the 850mhz band.

Or is this unit ONLY for Telstra network?

If its sim locked to Telstra then u can only use it on Telstra. In other words if you bought it from telstra then yes only on telstra. Now you can always SIM unlock the phone inorder to use it on other netrworks.

To my best knowledge, 850Mhz 3G is exclusively available from Telstra in Australia.
Therefore, unless there are "fallback" 3g bands (2100Mhz) are also made available, there is no chance for Telstra Diamond phone to be compatible with 3G networks other than NextG.
Please confirm with Telstra Diamond owners that the phone is 3G 2100Mhz aware. I hope it hlps.

2100 MHz Optus, Vodafone, Three, Telstra(use Three's) - DIAM100, DIAM110, DIAM200, DIAM300, DIAM130

Wasn't that the prevailing opinion about 850 mhz gsm a month ago? Until radio v.05 came out, HTC themselves said 850 mhz was impossible, due to technical reasons. Lo and behold....I now can use the 850 mhz band. 3g on 850 might be a longshot....ok...a VERY long longshot if what is being said here is true, but you never know?

well this is all a bit dissapointing... oh well... i can live without super fast 3g till the touch pro comes out on the 850Mhz with telstra.
Like the Diamond, the Touch Pro will have the same issue. The European/Asian version does not have the 850 Band for 3G. Apparently the American version will  (can this be confirmed)?
Also, it is unlikely that Telstra will release a "branded" (and I use the term loosely) Touch Pro as the general market in Australia leads more towards phones like the Diamond and similar genre (ie, more style than work - though don't get me wrong, I think the Diamond can be used for work, but I would not).
There is discussion with respect to the US AT&T ROM being flashed onto a European TP to see if it can access the 850 band, but once again, there may be hardware differences (after all, HTC is dealing with a larger market in this case). Still this is all up in the air as the TP is still to come out.
Either way, it looks like I will be upgrading my old phone (original Zinc) to a TyTNII, as I really want NextG because there is no normal 3G where I am:)

Ok, not to stray too far from the subject (Telstra for AUSTRALIA!!), but for the US folks (including me) who still have that ray of hope that a ROM or Radio will somehow magically activate the WCDMA 850 radio in the Diamond for 3G data, LET GO OF THE HOPE... THE HARDWARE IS NOT THERE.
I don't know how much more clear this can be made. And yes, I understand that everyone thought that 850 GSM wasn't there either, and then new radio software activated it, but that's ONLY GSM. THERE IS NO WCDMA 850 RADIO IN ANY DIAMOND EXCEPT THE DIAMOND 110, which should be released in the US within the next month (hopefully).

Deal with it US folks. Hang on another month or so, sell your current Diamond if you already have one, and buy the US Diamond.

up to 384 kbps up & 7.2 Mbps down
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
850/900/1800/1900

Hi all,
Firstly, I bought the Diamond Diam130 yesterday on a Telstra MRO. I'm from Tassie so I'm certain it was working on NextG as data speeds were quite fast, and we have no 3g network down here.
Secondly, battery life is bloody awful. I only got about four hours this morning, but admittedly wifi was on most of the time, and I was playing with it a fair bit. But still, it is unacceptable.
Hence I'd like to flash it with a different Rom. My first question was whether it'd be safe to change the rom, and still retain next-g functionality etc.
It seems that someone earlier stated it'd be safe, so I'll trust you! :)
Can someone please tell me where to find the most suitable and up-to-date rom for my particular phone?
Is it this one I found: NEW SWIFTBL WWE DIAMOND ROM V5.6?
Sorry, I'm a fairly well qualified IT tech but haven't dabbled much with PDA's, and worried I'll completely bork my shiny new phone!

If this is true about the AT&T Network:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Mobile_Telecommunications_System
While UMTS2100 is the most widely-deployed UMTS band, some countries' UMTS operators use the 850 MHz and/or 1900 MHz bands (independently, meaning uplink and downlink are within the same band), notably in the US by AT&T Mobility, and in Australia by Telstra (850 MHz only).
Then yes, the DIAM130/Telstra handset radio chip will work on any telephone carrier that supports UMTS 850MHz 3G OR UMTS 2100MHz 3G.

AT&T will not be releasing a Diamond.
There will be an unbranded North American Diamond within the next month though.Ah, I was always under the impression that the Diamond was coming to AT&T. No skin off my teeth.. I also have a T-Mo account, but doesn't look like it'll support the 1700mhz frequency.
Lame.
Definitely looking forward to the Raph though, but I gotta say: L26's V10TL rom breathes a lot of new life into my Kaiser. :D

Fantastic. HEAPS faster, more reliable, better battery life, faster gps init, more programs, and more!
However, I have indeed lost the telstra internet thingo, and will have to work out how to configure it!
No worries mate. I'd suggest calling Telstra to get the settings. Unless someone here can help, however I think your quickest solution will be to make the call.

Got it sorted. Rough instructions below for others who have same problem, incl possible useful keywords for people searching... :)
Note that most of this is off the top of my head, but should be easy to follow if the phone is in front of you!
Instructions to reconfigure Telstra WAP for Diamond after Custom ROM.
The ROM I used was Dutty's, dated 12/08/08. So far I highly recommend it.
This ROM actually automatically setup most of the settings.
All that remained was to open Settings > Connections
There was a connection called Telstra Internet.
Tapped Edit My Proxy Server
Tick This network connects to the internet
Tick This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet
Tap Advanced
Set Http proxy to 10.1.1.181 port 80
Then changed Opera homepage to wap.telstra.com/wap/
If you haven't already got a connection equivalent to my Telstra Internet one, I think you just create a new modem connection.
Select modem - GPRS, 3g
The access point was called telstra.internet on mine, but may need to be telstra.wap
Username, Password and Domain can be left blank
Tap Advanced and make sure it is set for Server Assigned.
Go Finish and then set Proxy Server as above.
Hope that helps some people

I've installed the Telstra ROM provided by RandonDude on my DIAM100. the results were the expected. No 3G or H connectivity. Only Edge and a good signal (better than radio .07).
Hope this helps.

Hey guys,
i brought the telstra HTC diamond from telstra on monday and the sales person told me it wasnt sim locked, so when i got home i have put my optus sim card in and turned it on. All the telstra stuff loaded up on the phone. Is there a way to remove all these telstra gear so it doesnt load up when i install the rom or am i better off getting the new rom SwiftBL. And if i do will optus still work or is this telstra diamond only work on the telstra network?

You're welcome. Least I could do since one of your posts helped me to decide to take the plunge and bin the factory rom!
Can't believe how much better it is now. It's gone from being a cool phone with a few serious issues  , to being a bloody fantastic phone (maybe best consumer phone ever) :D , with a few minor issues (battery mainly).
I also installed the GSen software, which is excellent. Autorotation to landscape was one of the minor things which it really needed, and now has got!
Do you know of anything else I should modify or add to my device?

I'm still a bit of a n00b at this stuff (only had my phone a couple days), but I can definately recommend Dutty's latest rom. The phone should work on the Optus network fine I reckon. Note that it won't have NextG support (duh).
I'm tempted to try the other rom (swiftbl), but I'm that pleased with Dutty's I doubt I'll bother.

Hi Guys,
Managed to extract the spl from the Telstra DIAM130 using the intsructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412447 thanks to POF
Not sure where I can upload it to if you need it - but it was the last restriction for me to upgrade to one of the other roms.
Can upload if someone tells me where otherwise its fairly easy task to extract it before you update. Only issue I had to do was set the the following key to allow the utility assess HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies
valuename '00001001' was set to dword:2, change it to dword:1
Anyhow I havent tested it but happy to upload it somewhere if you need it.

Yes you can retain NextG functionality as it is hardware based on our Diamonds.
However the Telstra internet is pre-configured on the device - After a ROM change you may need to re-configure it. Can anyone confirm?
After rom change to 1.93 Asia_HK, switch on it will ask country and network, choose Australia and Telstra it connect then setup and work as usual, i go throug the config, it same as the original telstra the good thing is now we allow to edit/delete "Telstra Internet" connection... no more telstra branding on home screen, on start up and on menu. no "Bigpond" on browser. 3G & H still work... now no RSS would someone confirm that 1.93 Asia_HK dont have RSS??

Hi - thanks for your msgs - i tried exactly what you did and upgraded to Dutty's ROM 1.6, but now can't browse the Bigpond Page and Mobile Foxtel in 3G mode - have completed settings like you did, but no joy - are you able to view mobiletv.telstra.com and browse through it ?
My phone is the same as yours - DIAM130 bought from JB Hifi - was working before flashing and now no joy !
Would appreciate hearing how you've gone ?!

Would appreciate if anyone else has some ideas on how to get this working ?!

Did the SPL go back to the original Telstra 1.38 when you ran the RUU for the Telstra stock rom or are you still on Hard SPL?

do not flash this : it's no goood fro oblinox
UPDATE: 1.37 Hard-SPL
for those who need 1.37 due to some screen fuzziness issues on some newer diamonds, here it is with hardspl patches:
- Developer Edition: can flash unsigned code. Version: 1.37.OliNex
- Signed Edition: can only flash preapproved signed code. Version: 1.38.OliNex (of course still based on 1.37).
please see Attachment below for Signed Edition!!
for Developer Edition, see the developer hardspl thread of course.
I recommend you flash the original HardSPL, as that one is MFG. only flash the 1.37 if you experience the fuzzy display issue.
the result will be:
"ERROR [262, 276, 284, 302] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process.
Solution: If this happens, you can just soft-reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue.
Note: At this stage, the Wince is destroyed; instead, it is in upgrade mode."

Did the SPL go back to the original Telstra 1.38 when you ran the RUU for the Telstra stock rom or are you still on Hard SPL?
am still on 1.24 hard SPL and yes - no dramas with original Telstra 1.38 ROM ( which actually isn't that slow after using it for a little bit now ! )
Just to clarify - definitely still NextG speeds on Duttys ROM, as i have DIAM130 850 bought from Telstra shop - so NextG speeds and 3G / 'H' correct band on display etc . . . - just problem with Telstra settings, to get access to BigPond Page ( in '3G' view - it views differently when not on the Telstra ROM - not as much graphics etc . . . fairly sparse ), Mobile Foxtel ( mobiletv.telstra.com ) etc . . .
Frustrating, as now trying to find all of the little CAB's that make up some of the best ROM's out there !
I remember seeing that Walshiau was going to be creating a new Elite ROM based on this, maybe someone could cook a Telstra ROM, then we would all be very happy ! :)
( does anyone know the details of this 1.38 ROM, whether it matches up with the issues that were fixed in the Global 1.93 update ?? )

Guys - I just went and bought a DIAM130 (will be returning the 100 to seller) and there is a definite colour difference between the two models (the 130 is slightly warmer/yellowish). The colour of the 130 is uniform though and I probably wouldn't have picked it if I didn't sit both of them side by side. I actually prefer the warmer screen and wouldn't mind betting the screen now represents colours more accurately.
On a different note - I am impressed with the response of the 130 ROM, even with all the Telstra crap loaded... it rivals the 100 with Swift's ROM.

What are others impressions of the Telstra ROM on the DIAM130 (1.38.841.5)?
I'm in a pickle ATM cause I was using Swift's ROM (5.6) on the DIAM100 and thought it would be a good candidate for the 130 - flashed it yesterday and was disappointed (no disrespect to Swift) - the official ROM is by far the fastest and smoothest ROM I've seen on a Diamond although I haven't used any 1.38 based cooked ROMs.
Even though it retains some of the screen change animations, they are smooth and completely stutter free (the time-flip and fly in/out looks like it runs at >25fps!).
Has anyone else noticed this ?
Now, if we could just clean up the crap that Telstra wants us to look at....

exactly the issue i've had ! tried Dutty's and Swift ROM's and no go with the 3G Telstra pages. Gone back to stock Telstra ROM and it is fairly quick though !
got hold of NextG level 2 support the other day for issue with Mobile Foxtel and bounced the question off him and he did say that there are registry settings in place as well, but he can't tell me what they are !
anyways, quite happy with the performance of stock ROM, but would love to tweak a little more with the nifty apps and utils that come out from the cooked ROM's.
if i knew how to or had the time, would love to cook the Telstra ROM, but maybe we have to wait until someone more knowledgeable can do this !

Got new Diamond yesterday, plenty of fiddling... :-)
I got the info off the start screen:
r 100.25.06
g 52.31.25.13u
d 1.38.00.00
Now is it work doing the hard_spl and cooked rom/radio thingos?...
if so what would be compatable?
I've looked around for a few hours now, and can't find anything 'specific'
Cheers, and rock on HTC!

interesting to note as well, that there are numerous Telstra references in the Registry when you do a search for it, especially around media streaming and Internet Profile sections, so definitely something to look at when we end up getting a cooked Telstra ROM !
[update] - been using stock ROM for a week now and very happy with the speed !

Flashing back to stock:
with regards to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2324829&postcount=39
STEP BY STEP HOW TO RETURN TO STOCK SPL - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!
0. be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
1. download the stock spl package from this post (pick one of the attachments) in this thread.
2. also download the RUU-SSPL-withoutNBH.zip from the attachments in this post.
3. pick the SPL you want to reflash to (ONLY FOR WARRANTY REASONS), it's a .NBH file, put the NBH in the extracted RUU-SSPL-withoutNBH package.
4. run the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to black screen), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+5. to verify, volume down + reset, see version number on tricolour screen.
Specifically:
3. pick the SPL you want to reflash to (ONLY FOR WARRANTY REASONS), it's a .NBH file, put the NBH in the extracted RUU-SSPL-withoutNBH package.
If I take the .nbh file directly from the Telstra ROM which I downloaded from the HTC e-club (and uploaded earlier), which includes official radio, OS and SPL - and put it with the RUU-SSPL-withoutNBH... will this completely restore my device to the way Telstra sold it in one move? As opposed to flashing radio, os and then SPL seperately - am I able to use that one NBH to do the whole lot?

I just purchased my Telstra Diamond from Retravision in Heathmont (Melb) for AU$770 plus $18 for shipping. Great deal, cheaper than eBay and proper tax invoice warranty and service etc as they are a Telstra shop.

telstra rom is shithouse, doenst event use the next g netwprk all the time if you have a next g sim (which i do).... 1.93.801.1 with the radio 1.00.25.7 is the best combo ever!
and now
im going back to the telstra rom with radio 1.00.25.8...results to be posted...
Can I ask why?
I'm keen to know the results with .08 but I might just flash anyway and pass on my opinions as well...
I'm currently using .07 with stock ROM but still have poor NextG reception in comparison to LG's and Nokia's...

well i just thought i would give it another go. i like the telstra logo on the home screen and the date where it is under the clock.
however i cant seem to get windows mobile live to work...just says syncronisation failed. strange...
the .7 and .8 radios seem to do next G much better so im reuuning hard spl 1.93 unsigned, telstra rom and 1.00.25.8 radio...
so far so good except for the windows live issues...
i tried the swift rom but dont like all the extra bullshit...
i think someone needs to cook the telstra rom with the latest windows core and htc rom 1.93! come on chiefs!

Did try that - looked just liked the Telstra Rom and even said it was 1.38
I must admit after trying a lot of ROMs the T$ one is quite fast. The TF3D is very responsive.
I have pretty much gone back to it and then applied all my patching to that using advanced config.

Since getting my DIAM130, I have not been able to get eMoze working - I have tried it under the original ROM and all the other ROMS out there. I was flashing ROMs all night to try to get it to work:(

So whats the status of flashing the telstra diamonds?
so if I load hard_spl 1.24
radio 1.00.25.05
swiftBL-WWE_diamond-Rom-v6.0
Reload manually the telstraInternet configuration
this will work?
if I need to send it back I can:
reload telstra rom from htc website.
reload default radio ( from somwhere)
reload default SPL (from somewhere)
[edit]
I loaded hard_spl_1.24
radio 1.00.25.05
I get no 3g icon
[edit] I found the 1.00.25.08 (which I assume adds 3g/nextg support) - thanks to timn2087's sig :-)
3g is back.

also a few posts have said that .05 reduced the heat on the device.

I's say you'll need HardSPL (I don't think you can flash a ROM from different region without it).
You should still retain regular GSM connectivity - just don't expect it to enable NextG on the 100 - that's water under the bridge:p
If you're wary of flashing you can still access the Telstra services from the original ROM (although it won't be candied like the Telstra ROM)- you just need to set-up the phone for it - the settings are floating about in a few places - try whirlpool, telstra or here...

I flashed with the switft rom and a .08 radio rom from these forums, the swift rom has an 'auto detection' for multiple providors, and supports the telstra config.
I did nothing the the networking and I get the nextG tesltra sign up, and surfing the web through it brings up the 'H' signal, so I assume it all works...

I have both Tomtom and Igo8 working on my Diamond and I've tried various ROM's and Radios (all on Olinex 1.4 Developer SPL).
Can't say I've noticed any differences between the ROM's or Radios really... what I have noticed though is that on occasion (mostly after a soft or hard reset but not always) Tomtom will take up to 10-20 mins to find satellites - once it has though, it works a treat for most part.
Luckily enough I haven't had any of the major lag problems that others are experiencing... maybe 50-100m sometimes, but I've never used a dedicated GPS unit to know what is acceptable anyway
My suggestion to you would be to leave Tomtom running for 15-20mins in clear view of the sky and see if you have any luck...

yeah, i have read every post. it just seems strange to me that i have the option for 850 umts and i get the h to come up. but let me tell you 1 thing. when i go into the band settings, i choose 850 umts, but it will always go back to auto. the phone connects to either "E"dge or "G"prs, but later on it will connect through "H"spda. i get faster speeds when i am on the "H"spda, or atleast i think its faster. I undersdtand that the DIAM100 does not support next G but whatever i do, i cant get to the proper wap.telstra.com/wap site with my diamond that i can with my telstra jasjam. I even got the telstra proxy server exe file from my jasjam onto my diamond and it does not help. I have put in all the proxy server settings, but still cant get to it. the wap site on my diamond is the same one you would get if you typed wap.telstra.com/wap into your pc. it is really annoying. thats why i want to know which hard spl i need to install telstra rom on my phone, unless anyone out there has any ideas on how to get the full telstra content on my DIAM100

Walshieau is certainly basing that claim on actual evidence. He has a Telstra DIAM130 850Mhz hardware, and I have the DIAM130 myself as well. I had a DIAM100 for 8 weeks then I got the DIAM130 850Mhz and believe you me, you will never get 850Mhz 3G working on a DIAM100 - I would have done it myself if it was at all possible.

Walshieau is certainly basing that claim on actual evidence. He has a Telstra DIAM130 850Mhz hardware, and I have the DIAM130 myself as well. I had a DIAM100 for 8 weeks then I got the DIAM130 850Mhz and believe you me, you will never get 850Mhz 3G working on a DIAM100 - I would have done it myself if it was at all possible.
like i said, i know it is hardware base. i understand. all i am asking for is help displaying telstra content on my handset. the website wap.telstra.com/wap on my diamond displays exacly as it does on a pc. i put my simcard in my jasjam and it displays correctly. i have deleted all internet/wap settings and re entered settings, gone through connection wizard and still can not get the wap site to display correctly. thats what i need help with, not the fact that my DIAM100 does not have next g. please help. thanks:)
