All,
Maybe some of you remember me, but about 1,5/2 years ago I was one of the (back then very few) Rom Cookers here....
Then the WiFi broke on my Wizard, so no Rom Cooking from that point on for me anymore...
I did send it to the Repair Center but got it back after 3/4 weeks, not repaired (it looked like the box was never opened), so that was it for me.....
After that I got furious and sold my Wizard to a colleague with pain in my heart for a "junky price" and got myself another non-HTC phone :(
Last week something strange happened....and now I suddenly got 2 Vario's, one housing is already replaced, the LCD Touch Screen will be replaced in a week or 2, the other Wizard will get it's new housing and LCD Touch Screen also around then.
So Molski is having himself 2 brand new looking Wizards now.....and now I don't care if WiFi breaks again (on one of them) :D
So I immediately went to XDA Dev, downloaded some Roms and to be honest (in my opinion), most of them aren't that nice...they are good and stable, but
even Vanilla Roms have way TOO many apps in it, Vanilla is Vanilla....and not Vanilla with chocolate on top of it or something....
Because I wanted a good Rom for myself FAST I didn't look into XIP Porting etc., maybe I will do that some other time to see what I can ;)
So I downloaded my own Molsk.Biz DevPack, created some extra script for the very lazy Rom Cooker (me) and created a new Rom.
@It's Right: Sorry for not contacting you, that I was planning to release a Rom based on your Rom, my apologies!!
So here it is, from me to you, maybe I will release some more...maybe not!

I figured you would return cooking for the Kaiser or Diamond
For those of you who don't know, this man was cooking before there were kitchens! Every Rom he put out was fast, stable and up to date.
Glad to see ya back and what's up with your site?

I still got the site (not updated since March 2007), but because Molski had no Wizard, Molski took the site offline and used a standard image he uses for all his domains :D
Maybe I will put something back, the only problem is, I already know it will consume a lot of my time...something I don't have right now.
So for now....enjoy the image(s) dudes :P

Looks like people want me to make a WM6.1 Rom :)
Like I said, point me into a fast, clean and (very) stable, WM6.1 Rom!
Most of the WM6.0 and WM6.1 Roms I have seen around do have some little bugs (like this ain't working perfectly, that shortcut is missing, this .DLL is unpatched, etc. etc.).
I've been away for almost 1,5 years.....I have start digging into XIP Porting so I can't do "everything" right now, I also have to learn some stuff again :D
I'm searching (I guess) for a stock Wizard WM6.1 Rom...so who will help me out...?

Hi.
Wow, i've never seen so much praise for a member on this board. I don't really upgrade ROMs often, but after reading all the seniors welcome you back, i had to try.
Just thought i'd post my results. Overalll great ROM. First ROM for me where the Cube works as it should. I like the included progs, not too much, just enough.
Confirmed working: wifi, push mail, bt headset all other basic stuff.
Issues:
- wifi doesn't auto connect to prefered networks (every 6-6.1 rom has this issue it seems)
- at first boot, i got a lot of popups of progs that can't run. Went away after second reset.
- Every reset currently, message in a popup "FTouchFlo is already loaded" or something like that. I'm going to try removing it from startup folder.
- I tried the included radio rom and does not work at all in Canada. Had to go to version 2.19 and works perfectly.
BTW, i have a G4 t-mobile mda with radio 2.19.x
Thanks for your work! i'm gonna continue adding progs today and will post if i see other issues. (unless you tell me not to:-))
Cheers,

- I tried the included radio rom and does not work at all in Canada. Had to go to version 2.19 and works perfectly.
- I didn't test WiFi at all to be honest, I assumed it was working fine. I immediately tried my own WiFi, it connected the first time! After enabling, 2 secs later it found my Wlan AP, after entering the password (WPA-PSK encryption) it connected after 4-5 seconds, not a problem at all.
- While I was testing the Rom (let's say flashing 2 devices a total of +/- 25 times at least) I sometimes had the same issue, not always, only sometimes.
It also can hang sometimes after flashing/hard resetting on the 2nd splash, didn't dig into this issue (yet)!
- I just resetted my own device, installed HTC Cube....but don't got the error, but I will look into it...maybe...
After people wanted my to start on a WM6.1 Rom I am busy gaining more knowledge and checking for a stable WM6.1 Rom, so maybe no bugfixes more for this Rom and a new one will be released in a short period of time (don't ask me how much time...) ;)

hi,
I just wanted to calrify the wifi issue. WIFI works well, exactly as you described. Connects to a network, with WEP, etc. However, afterwards, when you power off the wifi, or reset the device and turn wifi back on, it does not auto-connect to a previosly configured network. You have to manually go to wifi settings and say "connect" to a network in the list. I had this issue with all 6.1 roms as well.
I think i'm still keeping this ROM, even with not further bug fixes, unless i find a showstopper. I like the look, the cube, and mostly everything works.
So thanks again!

I have seen that Rom, other people also told me the WM6.1 TNT Series Rom from It's Right, with the ported XIP from the Kaiser is a very stable Rom.
I checked it out and it indeed looks fine, a little bit of a mess with some unneeded or unused files, but it works perfect!

Oh. My. Gawd. molski is here :o This one I have to try.. I was looking to flash my device.. it was acting quite unstable so I was going to go back to WM5 but here I find a rom by molski.. I think I have to try this.. then I see that its only a few days old :o Must be my lucky day.. its like you release a rom and my brain tells me automagically to flash 2 days ago :P
I'll try it out. I expect it will work pretty amazingly :) As for the minor issues that were posted earlier in the thread.. meh. If you're going for WM6.1, I'll just use that one once you come out with it :)

To be honest, I am not a big fan of the TNT roms. in fact that is one of the major reasons I started cooking my own. also for the record that 588kitchen by j.vd.Spank is much barer than his rom. in fact, it is probably the barest of them all. 209 kitchen was ported by Villaboy (which I screwed up by changing the pagepool) was also the most stable. In fact I did not have to reset it under any circumstance. Problem is that the download link is broken.
However I hope that you take on a challenge of porting the .20xxx series roms on the kaiser forums. .19xxx series seem to be all the same, and that one is the newest. I asked one of the cooks out there for the original dump, but got nowhere with it though:( maybe you will have better luck.

Man, glad to see you back!
I had your Final 2.3 on my Wizard, got a Tilt, sold the Wizard to daughter's boyfriend, he had ZERO problems, loved it, until it was lost/stolen at college.
I got a refurbished Wizard for backup to my Tilt, have Slim v3.0a on it now - would really like to see you cook a good 6.1 ROM - threaded SMS is awesome IMHO - if you do a lot of text messaging with different family members, it sure helps a feeble brain remember WTH we were talking about!
It's awesome to see you back at XDA!

What's the deal with TNT Roms? Only that they are packed with way too many apps (for most users)? A clean TNT Rom (after cleaning and stripping it myself) was working quite stable!
The things in my Rom that are rather "buggy" are the HTC Home Plugin (sometimes on of the shortcuts sudddenly is gone...), HTC Album and sometimes HTC Cube. Install my rom without the customization and it's stable as a rock (as far as I have tested this...!).
I think the Kaiser .200xx Rom isn't ported yet because their are problems with the XIP Porting. These days XIP Porting is made very easy by severeal people, so I cannot believe that nobody tried to change the Rom...
I wil contact some peeps first, then I will check what I will do with future Rom building ;)

So basically I download the rom take the nbf in the folder "5.2.1933 (Build 18522.0.7.0) Rom" and use it with the Vista (in my case) RUU. Is that right? What's with the nbfs in "IPL_SPL_3.08" and "2.69.11 Radio Rom" folders?
Should I up those two before flashing or what?
Current Radio is 02.07.10 and IPL/SPL is 2.16/2.16
Sorry for the newbness :(
molski
2nd August 2008, 07:09 PM
Yes, place the nk.nbf in the VISTA Update folder and run it, BUT make sure that you installed the drivers that the Vario uses in Bootloader Mode.
Their is a guide in this forum that describs howto update on Vista.
The IPL/SPL and Radio are extra, not needed, use them only if you know what you are doing ;)

Molski - I gotta tell you this is a great rom - But I keep having this strange problem. I install all my software after a hard reset- nothing crazy - SPB diary home plugin - overclocking software to 268- some other apps which don't startup upon boot- anyhow, after I get it all up and running I go to soft reset and it hangs on the black screen just before the windows home screen. The green light blinkgs (but not the bluetooth and the device lights up when i touch the screen so I feel like its not frozen- then after a while it does freeze)
This happens repeatedly to me and I can't figure out what is going on. Its driving me nuts.
molski
5th August 2008, 04:08 PM
Does the issue happens without the SPB software?
I had the same problem once after that never again, but my Wizard just had a hard-resest after that and only HTC Cube, HTC Album and HHC v.10 were installed at that time....

I don't really know for sure. I've used the SPB diary- and was able to successfully soft reset a number of times after setting that up. Like for example, just now, I was doing the final operation on Smartwatch, and reset to register COM port, and then it got to the same point and stopped. I will try without the SPB and see what happens. Is there any way to step throug the boot up process and trouble shoot?
Thanks.

Do you read? Go to the first post and D/L the ROM. You have 1 post so I would also suggest that you spend some time reading about how to flash your device so that you don't come back here asking more questions. Don't get me wrong the people here will answer your questions but if you spend a bit of time now reading up on what to do it will save all a lot of time.
Good Luck,
Kirby
Let me start you off with a few links to some good reading material.

Great ROM, just what I needed, WM6 instead of WM6.1 since 6.1 has problems when syncing between 2 computers (ActiveSync Error Code: 86000107, which I experienced and kept on coming back, I believe it may be related to the nr of Contacts that I have being > 2000).
It comes also in a very nice design and package.
Thanks a lot Mr. Molski, you saved my day (or MDA) :-)

Molski, I've got one in my sig that you may want to try if you want a stable ROM. Those who use it swear by it, including me (of course).

Could any one confirm that the microphone on any BT headset is not working?
Used 2 BT headsets and both don't pick up sound, receiving sound is ok.

Hey, molski great work on the rom, it’s by far the greatest rom i have ever used its fast and stable. Great job.
but i keep running into a problem, when i go to creat a new MMS and i click on menu, the screen turns black and then i have to perform a soft reset to get the screen back. Any suggestions on what this problem could be?

I flashed back to the T-Mobile ROM, then unzipped the file. I tried to flash using the XP Update Utility, but I'm told the file cannot open.
Hmmm...

the folder that contains the actual rom is called "5.2.1933 (Build 18522.0.7.0) Rom" open this folder and copy the "nk.nbf" file and paste it in the xp update utility folder, then run the "ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID"
this should solve your problem

Hi all!
First of all, big thanks to many people on this forum! I recently received my Wizard in the mail, and after a lot of reading I have managed to get this ROM installed on my G4 device, all went well - no issues what-so-ever.
I have one quick question - are hard-resets fine after a ROM upgrade? I presume it will wipe all data, reset to this ROM and I can set up all over again? Just curious at the moment, no need to do it.
<EDIT: for another question that I answered myself>
Once again - thanks all! And Thanks Molski and others involved in this ROM.

Hi again,
I have noticed an issue on my set-up and I can't seem to fix it. Had a good search online and on XDA, but didn't find an answer.
Every time I finish a call, the STK Service appears. I can abort and then my Providers additional SIM options appear.
Using Total Commander, I found what I believe to be the files running the STK service, but I can't manage to move/delete them (from //Windows/STK*.exe)
Does anyone have a suggestion to stop this? I don't need the STK feature so I am happy to kill it to stop it appearing.
Thanks in advance.

Well as u know im new here and I need help installing this rom on my G3 Wizard. I've tried installing beta apps to make my phone look like an iphone with touchflo, and it was pointless! I've been surfing through the XDA forums for hours now and Molski this is the best rom so far for WM5. Now if anyone can make a breif manual to doing this, it would be greatly appreciated

Welcome!
You picked a great rom to start, but first you must read the "sticky" on Upgrading, because you might brick your phone. follow the instructions and you'll be on your way.:)

Hey hello, well, as I'm a newby here, i'll intro myself first. I'm Matthieu, Dutch a owner of a HTC TyTn (I not II) and P4350 with WM5.0 on it. and i'm interested in TouchFlo, browsing on the net I found your Rom and i was curious if it would actually work with one of either phones. As the Model wizard doens't ring any bell's and the info I found on the net, wasn't to help full either.
curantly it runs on WM6.0 but i'm not to fussed about dongrading (if it is indeed a downgrade)
thanks for all your work and any thought you might spend on this questions ;)

For the Tytn you need to visit the Hermes forum. You will find everything you might want for that device. The P4350 is called a Herald and if you look in that forum you will find info for that phone. Good Luck
