there seems to be a few threads around about ttn7 and if it will work on my ..... etc.i thought i'd post my findings as a sign post for other hermes users.
1. ttn7 is an official port on the new diamond but only with some carriers.
2. there are a few cabs around blue/black repack as well as original cabs ripped off the diamond.the repacks all installed easily on my hermes.original cabs show error on install.
3. activated ttn6 maps will work with ttn7,certainly uk&ire and w.e. will, there are plenty of other posts to suggest usa and others will also work.
4. there are plenty of ttn7 maps in the wild.google away, remember no warez.
5. ttn7 on the hermes will not work with tt home 2.3.other platforms seem to work with varing degrees of success.mapshare seems very patchy.
6. tt home 2.3 will work via card reader if you put a .bif file from one of the pna devices tt one/720/910 etc.this will allow some updates etc but it will try to update the pna files and may try to install the device file on the card to do this.
this proved less than usefull and again no mapshare.
7. in use the ttn7 software proved to be slow and frequently off map with after turn warnings/late calls etc.
So in summary ttn7 has 1 big improvement over ttn6,mapshare,which wont work as tt home 2.3 doesnt see the phone/maps,tt home 1.4 does work but wont see the new maps and no mapshare.
it proved to be slow and buggy with poor map tracking and slow warnings
unless these issues are adressed i'd recommend sticking with ttn6 for the hermes for now:cool:
