I opened Google.com, and typed "download Advance Config" ... the 1st result on Google leads me to the download link.. thats the best and easiest way to find stuffs :D

I'm an intelligent person but I'm extremely new when it comes to editing software...
How do I get into the file system cache? How do I get into any of these folders?

Thank you.

**Say what you mean and mean what you say**

Boost TFL3D Performance --> Using Advanced Config, change File system cache to 8mb and file system filter cache to 131072
Tested and works a treat. TF3D is sluggish and prone to long pauses before tweak, much faster afterwards

Boost TFL3D Performance --> HKLM\System\Storagemanager\Fatfs and change key Cachesize from 16384 to 32768
Much quicker than number 1 on it’s own, now stonkingly fast.

Wake Up on New SMS --> HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent <-- set to "1" by default. Change value to "0"
The Raphael (and the diamond on 1.93) now ring and vibrate for incoming SMS, so this is not really necessary, but will turn the screen on if that’s what you want (I personally don’t).

Switch Mute Call on phone flipped face down: HKLM\Software\HTC\PHONE : FaceDownMuteRing: change value to "0"
Working correctly

Boost TFL3D Scrolling Speed --> - HKLM\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\limit = 16384 or 32768 (DWORD decimal)
- To change it back to the default: - HKLM\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\limit = 8192 (DWORD decimal)
Did this using schaps advanced config and it does not seem to make any difference whatsoever.

Prevent screen switching off during phone call --> HKEY_Local_Machine\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableFastD ormantDisplayDuringCall to 0 (Note: does not work on all ROMs) Doesn’t work
AND (tested and works on EU ROMs thanks to Rod65)
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\Sleep switch value from 1 to 0 Doesn’t work
These failed to work individually and also when applied as a pair. No use on this Raphael ROM.
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\FastDormancyRule=0 doesn’t work either.
EDIT: this kinda worked when I tried it on the 1.90.405.1 ROM. the screen turns off once, but once you turn it back on, it stays on. YMMV.

Set HTC Album X button to close not minimize: ok_minimize change value to 0
Not needed any more. When task manager is set to close programs with the x button, album shuts correctly. Youtube on the other hand, doesn’t.

Disable Enlarged Title bar (when you click on a notification) to the default WM behavior: HKLM->Software->HTC->EnlargeTitleBar - and change "Enable" from 1 to 0.
Not needed any more. Start>settings>system>touchflo. Untick Show system status screen when status icons are tapped

Turn off startup aninmation and sound: HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation\ -> rename both "StartupGif" and "StartupWav" to other names
Works, but does not speed up boot time.

Enable GPS photo: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P10 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1
Works

Another supposed TFL3D tweak for better performance: HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings:
SpeedHigh: default value (25) <-- Change to (5) / SpeedLow : default value (70) <-- Chnge to (14) save and soft reset
No difference that I noticed, but no adverse affects either.

Adjust screen sensitivity: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\TouchPanel
Value = PressureThreshold
Change from the default dword:00000027 or 34 to dword:000000f0 or 240 in decimal
Works fine. Can also be done in Schaps advanced config.

More Camera Modes:
To Enable 'Burst': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P6 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1
Works. Keep button pressed down to take more pictures

To Enable 'Sport': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P8 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1
Works. Takes 5 pictures in quick succession

To Enable 'Video Share': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P9 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1
Works

Enable HSUPA:
HKLM\Software\HTC\AdvancedNetwork\SupportHSUPA =change it to 1
Already enabled, so no need for this.

Remove orphan icons and shortcuts - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...97&postcount=3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2461697&postcount=3)
Erm, why not just delete them in File explorer for F***s sake??

Four icons in a row in WM Programs/Settings screens - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...4&postcount=16 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2462244&postcount=16)
Works a treat and looks pretty good too!

Remove Vertical and Horizontal Scrollbars
For the horizontal (bottom) scrollbar:
HKLM\System\GWE\cyHScr = 0 (DWORD decimal)
For the vertical (right) scrollbar:
HKLM\System\GWE\cxVScr = 0 (DWORD decimal)
Slight graphical distortion at the edge of the screen, but they are gone.

Disable SMS Conversation in WM 6.X
In Registry Editor: Create a folder named "OEM" in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs"
In the new "OEM" folder, make a new DWORD key called "SMSInboxThreadingDisabled" and give it a value of "1"
OEM folder already exists, and adding the key to this folder works a treat, although any messages already in the system are lost. Back them up using something like PIM backup first.

I didn't get a chance to try them all as i only have the Raphael for a very limited time, so i tried the ones i was interested in first. I have the device for a few more days yet (Still allowed to borrow it from work for the time being) so i may try a few more and update this later on.

Need to make the most of my time here before I leave my job and don't get access to the devices again!:D:p:D

EDIT: more have been added and tried.

Ok, Done!

Add Registry Entrys:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\
Add New Key "IconConfig"

In there Add DWORD Value:
"HorizontalIconSpacing" Dec value="112"
"VerticalIconSpacing" Dec value="115"
"IconTitleFontSize" Dec value="6"

Very nice!

this is under the 4 icon in a row tweek, I dont know if we are adding 3 different dwords or is this one huge string or what?
these instructs are completely void of any instruction and ASSumes that everyone who reads it is a programmer.
can someone PLEASE break it down for those of us who aren't and will never be a programmer?

Hi guys

I'm going to buy one more Touch Pro , the seller says it's only been used for 2 days, but it feels like it's been used much longer, how can I test if it has been used ?

Do any of you know how to find how many hours and minutes my phone has been used ? If there is such a hour counter , Does this counter reset itself after a hard reset ?

Secondly; is there a Secret Menu or a Service Menu on HTC devices like on the symbian devices ?

You'll need to add 1 new key, with 3 DWord values. I'm assuming you're using Total Commander, when you get to the \Shell\ folder, use the MkDir command to add a new folder named "IconConfig" without the quotes, then navigate into that folder and add the new Dword entries with the appropriate values. Hope that helps.
Good Luck. ;-)

Go to start->settings->system->device info->Call Duration.
I flashed many times, but counter still on total usage.

In the new "OEM" folder, make a new DWORD key called "SMSInboxThreadingDisabled" and give it a value of "1"

This doesn't seem to work for me, but the other tweaks work fine though. I'm using PHM Registry Editor.

I created a key called SMSInboxThreadingDisabled and give a value of 1 and the Base is in Decimal. Value type is REG_DWORD.

Is that correct or do i change the base to binary etc? It just doesn't work.

EDIT:

NVM after a soft reset it worked!!

Hi,
I bought a touch pro a few weeks ago and i have a big problem with the camera. When i take a video capture in poor light conditions the camera slows down so much that the result is terrible. Usually the frame rate is 15-16fps in sunshine and the quality is fair but when the light conditions go down just a bit the frame rate drops back to 3.8fps!
Is there any setting or any solution to solve this problem?

Try adjusting the brightness to the minimum: -2.0

Tap the gear for the menu, tap "Brightness" and change it to the lowest it can go. That should help.

Hi,

In Advanced Config, I was playing with some of the settings and I stumbled upon the IP Phone setting and the 3G setting in the Comm Manager section. Can someone explain how these functions specifically work? I am using a Sprint Touch Pro with stock ROM and Radio (will hopefully be unlocking the phone this weekend to start playing with radio settings and then flashing my device). I have not been able to get Skype to work on my phone yet to make VoIP calls, but I have to think that if there is a setting for IP Phone, that it should work, right? Please advise.

Additionally, how does the 3G setting work?

I have a ton of other questions, but I'll start with these two and search for my internet performance tweak answers in the forum.

Thanx!

What version of AC are you running. I have 3.3 and have no IP settings for the phone.
The only setting that is IP dependant would be the WiFi.
The 3g setting is just for data, ie, turn 3G off if you have a limited data plan.

I am running AC version 3.2.0.0

Where can I get 3.3? I had a heck of a time getting 3.2 to run because it wouldn't let me load it without having .NET framework ver. 3.5 loaded on my handset.

I've tweaked and tweaked, and now I'm finding that after making some "performance" tweaks, that my battery life is less. It's hard to quantify from day to day because I've been using some more peripherals (read: BT headset and in car hands free (prius rocks)), but one thing I noticed today was that I am using more memory... especially when I'm NOT running any programs. I know that RSS may be running in the background, and that's all and good because I do DL a couple of Podcasts, but i don't do so much that it should be hammerring my battery every day, should it?

I've increased some cache size stuff in AC v3.3 and using some reg.edit tweaks, so I'm not sure now if the battery power query interval tweak that I used is any good any more. Should I increase that to 40000?

The batteries are not very good so even with minimal use they can heat up and stop charging or use more charge than it receives.
Not sure about an optimal interval and what difference that would make.

The cab file for adding the call history tab didn't seem to work for me. i just got stuck on the 'tap here to launch TF3D' page. as soon as i uninstalled it, tf3d came back.
I might try this and see how it works.

Hi all,

I ran Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 (AC3.3), ticked the Call history tab and my carriers tab with all its proxied links etc has gone.

I too got stuck at the tap here to launch TF3D.

I went back into AC3.3 and Call History wasnt selected. At this point I can't remember whether my carrier tab was listed or not. I believe it wasn't which is why i did the following.

I hit Restore in AC3.3 and calendar.page appeared in the TF3D tab list instead of my carriers tab name. (I installed calendar.cab about 2 weeks ago but then uninstalled it because I didnt like it)

I have since managed to get back TF3D but without my carriers tab.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Should I post this elsewhere?

Cheers
Ben

[QUOTE=tahdor;4449569]Here are some tweaks I did.

Here are mine.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Show certificated in settings
------------------------------------------------------------------------
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Certificates]
"Hide"=dword:00000000

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remove Opera Preload
------------------------------------------------------------------------
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Preload]
"RealExit"=dword:00000001

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tahdor, Can you explain the above 2 tweaks?
What does "Remove Opera preload" do?
What does "Show Certificated in settings" do?

I'm always fine tuning my TP and these sounded interesting.
I'm not sure I like Opera. (musical or browsing)

Does anyone know what reg edit to make so that a call will ring on BOTH the phone (HTC Fuze - win mo 6.1) and bluetooth headset when connected to bluetooth?

I seem to drop calls in my apt if I move around, so I usually talk on my bluetooth, but if the phone is on the counter and the headset isn't in my ear I usually miss the call since I can't hear it ring. It's pretty annoying.

Thanks for the help!

Save yourself the effort-that tweak is a placebo. Cachesize is obsolete (check msdn) and the other file system caches have to be cooked in, anyway, because they are set in the boot.hv, which is read-only and can't be tweaked post-flash.

I have a Fuze which (at one point in the past) I had a problem with everytime I turned on the camera, and then rotated it to a vertical or horizontal position, the screen would go black. At that point I would have to monkey with the thing to get the screen to 'come back to life'. I remember that I found an answer to the problem while surfing the net (way back then). Well guess what? The phone has started doing this same thing again, and as much as I search, I absolutely cannot find the fix again.
I even contacted HTC, and they told me that the phone probably needed to be 'serviced'. I told them that when this happened before, (if I remember correctly), I had to do something in the registry to fix the problem. They were quick to point out that if I do anything in the registry, it would void the warranty (like the warranty is still within date...sheesh).
Anybody have any ideas?

No clue, but any damage done to the registry is easily fixable with a hard reset. I guess that'll void the warranty, too, lol.

Anyone know how to change the default browser from IE to Opera when you press the FN+BROWSER shorcut combo on the keyboard?

I installed Opera 10 Final to storage card and set it as default browser when asked, but the keyboard shortcut still opens IE.

I assume it's a registry entry that is controlling this behaviour. Can anyone point me to the right location please.

Thank you!

On my phone it is a shortcut in the windows folder called Short_Explore.lnk. Replace it with a shortcut that points to Opera (or any other program for that matter).

Edit: After searching, it looks like if you have Opera installed, it uses a shortcut named Short_OperaL.lnk.

Thanks for the tip.

I checked my windows DIR and neither of those shortcut files are there. I created a shortcut to opera, and then renamed it and placed it in the windows dir, rebooted the phone but they keyboard shortcut still brings up Internet Explorer.

Any ideas?

I noticed when I had the setting to enable to encode portrait photos as portrait it would crash the camera app. Might want to try and see that, but its a registry fix, but you can change it using Advance Config

I checked in Advanced Config and already have the 'encode portrait photos as portrait' option set to 'no'.

Does anyone have a tweak for the unlock screen? When I hit the power button the unlock screen shows, but there is a delay of a second or two before the slider respond to any attempt on moving it. I would realy like to get rid of the delay.

Speeder TM.
I've got the same handset as you on O2. I'm finding Timlol's one sooo much easier on the CPU usage. Might be worth trying that and seeing what you think.
The sense one just slowed my handset down waaaaayyy too much.

Hope it helps.
