Hello Guys,

I notice newbies or sometimes, even regulars asking stupid questions. To save space on XDA, here are some examples that you should steer away from. Take this seriously and it's all in good fun. Before I show you some examples, this is to show that some questions are either already answered in the forum, or use your common sense or finally, if you have no common sense - READ the forum. Everyone was once a newbie but how did we all get here? We searched, read and maybe asked a question here and there, but valid questions. So use the "Search" button, find yourself a topic and seek knowledge. We're all here to help but don't flood the forum with stupid questions. This is to teach all newbies to avoid these kind of questions and cut the regulars some slack. From nowonwards, whatever DUMB thread I find, I will trash it and post the link here.

According to this, the drivers are already in the cab, so just install and tell them where you want to go.

Doh! That's what I get for not using google! So my next question is how do I use Google? Do I just enter the word "Google" at www.google.com and see what turns up? :D I don't get it I keep entering Google then click the search results and it keeps bringing me back to Google. Isn't Google supposed to read my mind and enter the question for me and hold my hand and walk me straight to the answer? Anyone? Hey, wouldn't it be funny if we treated Google like a magic 8 ball, ask a question and it would answer us in magic 8 ball fashion? Person - "Google will I ever amount to anything?" Google - "Signs point to No!" Hahaha !!!

Oh and wouldn't it be great if we had that Microsoft paperclip installed on our dash? Then it could pop up and say - "Hello, I noticed you wanted to flash your Dash to Windows Mobile 6.1... Would you like me to make you a cup of coffee while I install it for you? Perhaps a back rub?"

hey hey what about passmyexam.cab, you sittin there listenin to some music via your bluetooth headphones while your dash uses its cyber-brain technology to recognize the question and find the answer in its knowledge database, then uses typed-recognition to hand-write (already trained) your answers ......one day man one day ! can't wait lol :D

on the other hand, man I LOVE MY PHONE, PERIOD. i honestly wouldn't trade my phone for anything - too bad the iphone does not have a qwerty keyboard otherwise i might have thought about it but the possibilities on this phone are endless - it might not be able to do everything but it pretty much does everything that you can ask for, infact a lot more.......now if only it had 3g, built-in gps, faster processor, more ram, a better camera with a flash.......can't wait for Dash 2, if it ever comes that is !!! :rolleyes:

I have tried really, really hard to do it myself but they won't keep still long enough to transfer over ActveSync.

I think I need an expert in cab files.

With KavanaRicky.cab installed on my phone, any problems will be error-trapped and recoded on the fly. My phone will constantly be upgraded and armed with this, I will rule THE WORLD ...

Im working on updating the makemeasammich.cab, it will now let you choose what to add to it, you will have your own mobile subway on your phone!

Still to work:
*Add Drinks and sizes
*Add Potato Chips
*Add Soups

Wouldn't it be great if we could have SKYNET on our Dash's? Then we could carry SKYNET around in our pockets and control terminators via bluetooth... Sweeet!!!! But then we here at XDA would get plagued with questions like... "My terminator doesn't know how to use the phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range, can someone show me how to download the cab file?" or "What command line do I need to run to enable SKYNET to launch a nuclear holocaust? OMG !!! That would be soooo cool! Maybe there should also be a program that I can install so my phone can tell me how fast I am driving!!! Loads of companies bring out phones in different colours yet they not called II and T-mo etc have not called it Dash2 so it's a Dash maybe a special edition, just like i have an n73 black and the silver oneame out first, bad comparison but it's still not a n73 II its an me since different than original, unlike the black Dash thats the same as it was years ago.........

Dude, you should really do your homework... It's just like stylez and a few others said - it's the same dash with a different paint job. If you paint a turd green is it not still a turd? So you should just give it up already, you are not helping your case (which there isn't one by the way) and you are just continuing to put your foot in your mouth...

this has been discussed already sooo many times, it's boring. The black dash is just a refreshed version of the dash until HTC comes out with the new 2009 lineup. To TMODASHGUY , if you had search around the web you would know that the HTC Maple/3G Excalibur is the successor of the dash. That would make it the Dash2.

HTC has both Windows Mobile and Android phones slated for a 2009 launch and many of them will be unveiled at next month’s Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona. The codenames of the HTC Windows Mobile handsets set to be launched this year are Maple (Excalibur successor), Willow, Cedar, Thoth, Iolite, Magnet and Whitestone (HTC Touch HD II).



HTC Maple is the successor to HTC Excalibur, which is also known as T-Mobile Dash and this new device comes with a tablet shape and a QWERTY keypad beneath the non-touch display. Maple runs Windows Mobile Standard and is related to HTC Willow and Cedar, which sport much the same form factor, with tiny differences on the specs list.

HTC Thoth is the successor to HTC Athena and comes with the same design: a tablet with a big screen and detachable keyboard. Last on the list is HTC Iolite, which we’ve discussed the past week, followed by Iolite II (HTC Magnet).

That maple is flippin sweet! I bet its gonna be the poor mans BB Bold though since it almost looks like it. The only thing about the Dash i dont like is the slippery keyboard, but looks like they improved it with this by spacing out the keys a little. This is one im gonna keep an eye out for.

Ok, I am not going to comment, I will let you decide for yourselves, but I think this belongs here. And it is in good taste, I am not flaming anyone for being a noob, I definately am a noob, well working up to semi nude. I mean semi noob. :D But if one is able to upgrade from original 6.0 ROM to Kavana's 6.1, then it would make sense they would know how to flash back to original 6.0 ROM. Right? :confused: Like I said, all in good fun, no harm no foul.
