Can a sim card be copied, so it can be used in 2 phones at different times? Called T-mobile and they said it could not because of a sim card identifier number, but with all the aftermarket software and ebay usb clone software, wanted to hear an unbiased answer from a moderator. Legal issues aside, can it be done so you don't have to remove a sim card from one phone and install it in another for use.

Thanks.

I have done this before, but not lately. You need to find the IMSI (International Mobile Subcriber Identification) which is printed on the SIM and you also need to extract the KI (Key Identifier). Getting the KI is the hard part. Using a SIM card reader and KI extraction software, you could be successful at this. Once you get this info you can either burn own sim (difficult) or buy a multi to one sim card. These can be found all over Ebay (look for 16 to 1 sim). The card uses multiple sim lock codes assigned to access each of the 16 stored KI/IMSA combinations. For this exercise, 16 is overkill.

I haven't done this in a while since most of the companies are now using Comp 128V.2 or Comp 128V.2 to encrypt the card. I was able to decrypt a older Tmobile sim that was encrypted using Comp 128V.1 and I never let them replace it. I have 2 device sharing using a cloned sim. I never use the original anymore and it is stored away.

You can not use both phones at the same time. The last phone to be active on the network will receive incoming calls. The other will not. If ou use a phone while the other is in a call, the call will disconnent. Although "TwinSims" are offered in some parts of Europe, American providers hve not embraced the idea so don't give them any reason to suspect what you are doing by having 2 cloned sims seperated by 2000 miles light up their network from 2 seperate locations.
