I guys,

A friend of mine has some troubles with is Arthemis (SPVM650 in fact).

He buys it on ebay (used but barely new) and since he has it, the PPC is freezing...

At the begining it was on WM5 orange ROM, I installed tomtom and other stuffs and the mobile was freezing time to time, freezing when receiving an SMS, freezing when receiving a call...

When it freeze and you reboot it by reset boutton or removing the batterie, it doesn't reboot for sure... it can freeze again

So I decided to install a WM6.1 Release_Aje_fr_3.00Beta3_Nini to get reed of this creepy system

http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-316411.html (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-316411.html)

So everything works fine but the mobile still freeze again and again

Sometime it's on boot (when the mobile gets on today screen) sometime its 10 seconds later...

Sometime you can use it but the phone won't ring or you get some strange characters (like â or ä or ê or ë...)

When it freeze, you can't use the touchscreen or the buttons anymore but pushing the buttons light them and the screen follow time procedure (shutting backlight or go asleep) and pushing the power button allow you to get the dialog box and shut the ppc down

I try to boot without storage card and sim card with the same result...

So I am out of ideas and a little bit upset because I advice my buddy to take a WM phone and he's stuck with this sh***

If any of you has an idea of what to do it will be muchly appreciated ;)

I had the same kind of problem with phone freezing several reboots daily and sometimes the phone doesn't turn on even when battery removed and so on very frustrating I can tell you. But their is hope as I spent time reading through lots of threads in here and what worked for me was openning the phone up to the mother board and cleaning it with some form of electronic pressurized cleaner.

Believe it or not my phone has been working fine now, you will need to read a manual on opening the phone, I have the Xda Orbit.:)

Thank you for the tip...

I already try to open this damned phone because my buddy drop the phone and the housing is a little bit damaged but it is different from the first problem (the phone was already freezing).

So I buy a housing on ebay, its very chip but the price too ;) ;) so I try to remove the old housing following some pdf I found but i Have some piece at the right of the screen, under the housing (at the middle of the phone) which prevent me to remove the top housing... so I got stuck, I had to mount everything back before getting to the motherboard...

The piece bloking me is some black plastic peak which seems to go from te top housing to the motherboard or something like that.. it's not reference on the pdf I found...

So I am willing to try the cleaning spray (I got some at work) and perhaps going back to a genuine HTC rom just to be sure... and If it don't goes anywhere... I wille become friendless ;) ;)
