Hello,
I ve juste bought a nw battery on Qtek website :
http://www.qtek.fr/accessoire-435-427.html

It s impossible to make this battery working.
The WM6 tells me Main battery : unknown

And it can t be fillled.

Even on sector the phone is turning of!!!

I ve heard about a file batdrv.dll.

do you know if a new file could help me.

The only way I ve found to make the battery working is turning on in bootloader mode....

I'd send it back and request a new one or a refund (see below).

Is it an official HTC part? That battery looks exactly like the one I bought from ebay for EUR15 (great deal, even included shipping from HK). It works fine (electronically), BUT with some major issues:
1) The camera opening is open (lens unprotected & dust will get in, I pasted in a bit of transparent plastic but that obviously does not help photo quality)
2) The camera snapshots now have a shadow at the side because the lens opening is too close to the thicker part where the battery is located

Effectively this makes the camera unusable. Not that quality is any good with the original HTC cover, but still...

I was wondering if you had the same problems?

It seems that Qtek.fr are just fakes !
So it mustn't be an offical part of HTC....
And their customer relationship is just horrible!
I have the same problem than you. The cover doesnt stick the lens...but i couldn t try photogrpahs...you kniw why...

Did you manage to make the battery working??????????,,

Did you manage to make the battery working??????????,,

1) Looks like it, especially for that price!
2) It worked fine as it came in (was 50% charged). The only difference is that my 1800 battery is black.

I am not using it any more because of the reasons mentioned before, and the fact that the shape is not convenient any more. I am considering getting a 1100mAh battery (same size) and just live with the short battery life (maybe 3 full days of light use with 1100), or wait for a better one. I heard mugen are coming out with a 2000 and 3000mAh models. If

Could you tell me some online shops where I can buy a working battery? On HTC website the battery is only in pre-orderind and not available at the moment.

I have a problem "simillar" working with the Adapt Battery pack for HTC Diamond(1800 mAh) (http://www.adapt-mobile.com.tw/mobile/detail.php?p_id=420).

For WM6 this battery is unknown ... and it is not possible to know if it is charging or not.

The phone is OK but the GPS doesn't work properly ... as previously happened with the Clove one :(

Hi!

Has your battery cover a "plastic" to protect the lens hole?

Your cover (http://www.4ustuff.com/product/pic_index/32821.jpg) is "identical" to mine (http://www.inkino.co.uk/zen/images/AdaptDiamondBattery_1.jpg).

Is your battery manufactured by Intellect Brothers Co Ltd ? (Printed on the battery front)

Nos vemos :)

I will take a look later, when I arrive home.
Mine displays charging level.

hi,

@nokistein: you said the GPS is working- did you see any delay thats longer for getting the sattelites? or is the signal strength lower?

do you used it with tomtom?

how long does the Battery last in addition to the stock one?

THX,

if this battery is that good, i will buy it to.

the stock one is ugly... i am surfing 20 mins. and then 30 min TomTom and i have to reload the battery....

Greetings!

Kai

No problem at all with GPS. TT works well.
I am making a test to see how much the bat lasts.
Begin it now. Phone and wifi on.

You know that you should be jailed for using that horrible cover on the jewel, don't you? Oh well, you should be also killed for having an avatar of Movistar :)

I can't wait to hear the results!!
Please let us informed... but is it so ugly (the new diamond shape with this battery) also in real life??

Thnx!!!

My avatar is not from Movistar... There is only "my provider" :(

My avatar is WORST: It's the PCDEMANO 's daemon ;)

With my EUR15 1800mAh extended battery from HK I get 5.5h with GPS + screen on (with the original I got 2h max with TT6). That is Sygic MCGuider, diamond laying near a window on a tabel so not actually navigating in a car. I had no problems with GPS reception at all.

As mentioned before my only problem is with the camera because it does not have a protective cam cover (dust gets in), and I get a "shadow" in all images because the bulky extension is slightly in the lightpath of the camera lens.

Well, near 16 hours using only phone and wifi. No calls, no nothing, only phone on every hour.
I have put a piece of a sheet of acetate as cam cover, but I also get the shadow effect JeeHaa said before.
13 € was the price of mine.

Don't meant to go off topic, but on the second link with the GPS Utility pic, where can I find this app as I can't seem to find it and I like the look of it, thanks :)

Edit - Never mind, just found it, always seem to find what I'm looking for just after I make a post :o

I bought a 1800mah battery from https://www.batteryupgrade.com/

They ship the battery from Hong Kong to the Netherlands. The shipment took 1 week and a half.

It seems to be pretty nice.

@luzok: does your GPS function properly? can it find satelites and get a fix?

cancar
26th August 2008, 10:10 AM
I made extended tests with original battery and cover and with the 1800mAh and its cover.
The sensitivity of the gps is greatly reduced from
1) the new battery
2) the new cover (maybe it has some metal painting)

with the new battery and cover is almost impossible to get a fix even outside (with radio .05 at least)

Even with the original battery with the new cover the sensitivity is reduced.

yea true.. but atm im stuck with the ugly one :P but one thing i must admit to, is the fact that damn the 1800mA lasts forever !! even tho i have no idea of the batterystatus .. guess i could get use to that, or be forced too lol

well.. iv read that some dont have the power status problem, but it seems to be very common unfortunatly (depends on the producer of it i think).. and no... i have no clue when its charged nor discharged.. besides when im chargin it in my cradle in the spare battery slot...

NoBody20013

ok... this means:

we have to search a 1800 mA batterie which shows the charge under windows Mobile...

Who can tell us which one is such a Batterie?

i'd rather let my phone last only 30 mins than have the turtle back. unbelievable. as others said, ill be waiting for the official upgrade.

its ok if you won´t use this big batterie- but i WANT to us it- and the few centimiters more in thickness is not a problem. the Diamond is still one of the thinnest phones with the turtle BUT its the coolest!

if you dont want to use those "turtles" you dont have to tell us that... it would be more helpfull for this thread i think if someone tells us which turtle batterie is the best (GPS and charge status)

-thats the cause for this Thread! or am i wrong? ;)

well havent got an exat messurment as of yet, but ran bluetooth, wifi, gps(tomtom 7, with demo running) + full backlight for 4hours.. and that was after 1 days normal use, and it died after just under 1 day more with wifi on, most of the time and otherwise just normal use

I bought time ago the extended battery from gps for less and it worked properly. For me the "status : unknown" appeared only after a rom upgrade. so i think it is a driver problem in windows. if i re-flash the old rom battery status come back. can someone copy and share the battery drivers of original rom (I don't know where are them) or extract them from a rom file (I'm not able to do it)?
regards

PS: sorry for my english (Italian....)

EDIT: Tried to use the old battdrvr.dll, but, nothing to do. Now the question is: Is there a registry key to modify??

Damn why settle for those batteries guys???..Here's an 1800mah OEM battery including a cover that doesn't have a turtle back. I'm not sure how much thickness this cover is going to add but it might add a few mm or cm to your phone but it certainly beats that ugly ass turtle back..lol!

Here's the link for the OEM from ebay:
