KNOWN BUGS!
Activesync through Bluetooth does not work! It is my strong belief that it's a build bug but I'm on it!

Congrats to tnyynt, this ROM is just as he says....fast, stable and damned sexy....
Battery drain is minimal and Ascertive memory management is fantastic.
This is a MUST for those with a P3600i who like a super clean, super light ROM.
Remember to donate as there has been a lot of work put into this....and just for US.

Andy

PS Donation sent....Really appreciate the time and effort that went into the creation of this ROM.

Two quick questions:

1. This rom didn't have boot screen img included. I still got the old Karmba img. How can I change that?

2. In phone: How can I get "Contact" softkey back? It is "Hide Keypad" with rom default!

3. Just wondering, is there a registry hack enabling vibrate when a phone call is connected? I have done a search, but it didn't help me at all.

4. I'm trying to learn UC now. ATM, I install cabs manually! lol

5. BIG THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!! I want to buy you a coffee!!!!! I would like to donate to you directly.

jackkkkk

One more:
6. Comm Manager: I prefer the "Ringer" setter over "3G". The default rom does not have a icon for Ringer. Could you make a Ringer's icon in the next release?

Thank mate!

1. i did not include a splash but I will soon post the missing one for SXY and I will build the BSN and STD with boot screen.
2. I'll look into it.
3. Haven't seen that since I'm a Trinity user. There's something like that on my Diamond, I'll see what I can do!
4. Do so, it's very useful!

No need to change anything. Just flash it with your RUU app.

Having spent a day or so with it and had a number of hard resets - I'm not sure that it is up to standard for me to use as my normal ROM... I've had to switch back to wm 6.0

I will test future versions though!

I don't need much, but I need something that doesn't crash and works for - map software, office, USB internet, Today Agenda, cLaunch, Battery Status, Add on timer and thats about all (Tildetech free dictionary would be a bonus - same with eSword)...

So far all of the above seem to have sent me to hard reset!

Quick question that will help me with testing.... if I dump my own rom before installing can I reflash and everything will be back to normal?

1) you had reset it because of what? (and which application you are running?)
2) in theory, if you dumb your rom and bake properly then it should be ok but if during dumbing and cooking or baking it back, there is problem either in configuration or bit error, then obviously it's not ok

---------------------ignore--------
I had to reset because I installed Office Mobile 6.1 after downloading it using the internet through the phone (I hooked it up using internet connection sharing). Nothing else was installed at this stage except pBar.

Well, the SXY (probably) stands for "sexy", as in a small, near naked build. The rest you can probably figure out.

Interesting figures. I just flashed 316iBSN and I get 189.25 Free Storage and 27.94 free Program.
I did flash without the SD card in (I have always done it this way).
Both results are pretty impressive as far as I am concerned.

I just tried upgrading. It says: "Updating the romimage on your PDA phone"
but then it remains at 0%. Followed by a ERROR 262: update error. Which I execute the recovery steps I get in the SPL (looking) screen, and restart the update, then it says after 1%, that the rom image file is corrupt (ERROR 270). I tried downloading from 4shared again, but same results.

The P3600i has a 500mhz processor and 256meg of Program memory where the P3600 has a 400mhz processor and 128 meg of program memory.
To check this go to Settings, System, Device information, Hardware. That will show you the Speed and Flash size.
If yours shows 400mhz and 128MB in those....then you are in the wrong thread...

I had my first hard re-set last night using the STD ROM. However I am pretty sure it was not a ROM problem but due to the 2GB Kingston Micro SD card I was using.
I formatted this new card to FAT32 when I flashed to the STD ROM and while everything seems to be OK it was slower to load the couple of Cabs I run.

I didn't re-flash, just copied everything back to my dependable Sandisk Mini SD card and did a hard re-set. Loading of the cabs from the card was considerably quicker than before, so hopefully everything will now be fine.

Loading of the cabs from the card was considerably quicker than before, so hopefully everything will now be fine.

hi Andych
i got STD rom now... running fine...

do you know what software to backup the sms, contact and calls?

Thanks

I have flashed with STD ROM plus:
- HTC task manager .cab
- Kaiser comms Manager .cab
- Kaiser dial pad .cab
- Kaiser diamond look HTC Home
I also have google Maps, awesome if you use GPS.

1) any applications you install, will go into Programs folder.
With this new ROM, applications are well organised into folders in Programs folder.
2) all icons and themes are in blue

Everything runs nicely for a few days...

I am not sure why you would want to have the HTC Task Manager as the Assertive Memory Management works so well it isn't needed. If you only want to switch between Open tasks there is a cab on the first page for that.

I must agree that folder organisation etc is fantastic, as is the rest of the ROM....so far this is far and away the best I have used.
I may end up going back to the BSN version though....only because I don't have the need for the extra items in the STD ROM, giving me back just a little memory......
You can never have enough memory.

Hi All,

Upgraded to 316iTNYBSN ROM on Saturday & early signs were very positive, speed & stability seemed fine.

This morning i was using my device the the airport (just leaving for a 4 day trip), my 3600i froze & i soft rebooted it (not hard). When the device re-booted it had reverted to factory defaults!

I've started using again without adding any third party apps to see if this is an ongoing issue with the ROM or perhaps something to do with other applications (rather doubtful).

anyone else seen this behaviour, any suggestions

(my other apps include spb mobile shell, pocket plus, phone suite, wallet & MS voice command v1.6).

I had the same problem as the guy above (i was using 316BSN for 3 days) and then i had the colour wheel rotating after i received a sms. i left it for 20mins and it was still spinning. After soft resetting the device it reverted to factory defaults. I have just reflashed to 317STD. (I wasnt sure if this was related to the 1.56 radio rom install (a few people complained that after doing their first soft reset with it the new radio rom it reverted to defaults like a hard reset)

I have noticed another issue with the rom relating to the outlook email folder in the message settings. With WM6 you could edit the outlook email settings directly on the device via selecting it. However now i need to set it up via active sync. It really only a problem if i need to re-enter the details after the device hard resets.

I have added:
* my usual GPS applications (TomTom and OziExplorer)
* Modaco NoData
* SPB Backup
* 1Calc
* MemMaid
* Fring VOIP
* Cyberon Voice Commander
* SPB Mobile Shell (like it, clean and easy to use and gived me a common interface for any phone that I use)
I also own a Diamond - reckon that you should come out with parallel product for that! (without the silly Flo thing)

Yes, that's my main soln before. However, I was with Mary 3.7 SL, SPB backup didn't help as it keep on crashing like hell. Around 5 hard reset in a day was NOT a joke   . I was forced to downgrade to Mary 3.6, then comes with tnyynt's roms.

I've tried everything I can to crash 317iTNYSTD since I installed it the day it was uploaded. It's rock solid!! I have the same problem with emanolas there. With SPB Backup I can backup fine but some errors when restoring, mostly registry write problems.

This problem also happened with karmba_a Diamond V10.2 which has the same build as this rom 20273.

Also I noticed that this problem arises after a long stand-by (approx. 4-6 hours) followed by incoming call or message.

Does someone know if this rom has the generic bt fix (found in P3600i rom collection under mr.smilies) cooked in it?

The Generic BT fix is only registry entries and drivers and yes it has been cooked into this ROM. When I Originally did the Beta test BT didn't work, just like the original Karmba_a and PDAVIET 42.

In that cab file there's a file called wavedev.dll, when I used Karmba_a this was the file I suspect because shortly after I install this bt_fix, my device always hangs when receiving calls and messages which has sound played.

Today I'm not so sure anymore.... I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm afraid that my hard reset issues continue with my 3600i & 316iTNYBSN, so much so that i'm heading on back to another non WM6.1 ROM. This is now the 5th non requested hard reset within a week.

I've tried with both orignal radio & also 1.56.70.11, both have the same issue, so i guess it's just WM6.1.

I've also tried to install my applications in different orders and in a staggered manner & this hasn't made a difference.

tnyynt, very much appreciate all your hard work in cooking up this rom for us, when it ran ok this ROM was super quick & made it a pleasure to work on a Windows Mobile device (i've had quite a few over the years!).

I'll keep an eye in this thread, hoping i can return to a Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM sometime soon, however my Touch Diamond may just get "financial controller" approval before then!

Thanks & good luck to you all

Seeing as your hard re-sets are not the norm (no-one else seems to be having the same problems) it would appear that there is some sort of mismatch with whatever programs / applications you are loading. Without listing them it is difficult for anyone to make comment or suggestions to help out.

Running for 3 days without asynckiller and no HR .... so far, but today another strange thing happened.

I was using pocket word then after 1 minute it went to standby mode (screen turn-off ... I set 1 min), then I pushed the power button to turn it on .... no response. I pushed again ... and again ... and again thinking *oh no HR again*. After a few emotional push, it suddenly turn-on.

Then I close pocket word, check the memory (free 20.94) and turn-off the screen, the whole thing started all over again.

After letting it standby (screen turn-off) for about 15 minutes, I pushed the power button the screen turn-on instantly and everything back to normal.

When it worked, this rom is FAASSTTT.... Love it. :D

Well mine has been running for over a week now with no hard reset problems at all. Interestingly my wife has been using it so there have been multiple phone calls and text messages each day...plus Tomtom.
The major difference is that it isn't synced every night. So far it has only been synced once in that week (to update contacts and charge it).
The only extra appplications I have on there are Tomtom 7 and a Theme (also from tnyynt).
Makes for a quiet life for me....no flashing....etc. All is good and the ROM is still the fastest I have used and the best for memory management.
I am running Radio 1.50 just to see how that went but I never reallly had any problems with 1.56 either.

Its not too fast (i think) to confirm that the radio is the major crashed and HR. I have tested for a week and see the result. what i ave done was:
1. Flash any of WM6.1 with my radio 1.56.x.x. only few dayswill get HR
2. Flash any of WM6.1 and then flash radio 1.46.xxx i can use it for few days too and then HR. this strange for me so i try the last.
3. Flash WM6 original with radio 1.46.xx and then flash rom to WM6.1 (Karmba_a V10.2 daimaond) i have use it for a week, i do S/R many times and install all need software. found no significant to problem or H/R, so i can confirm till date.

If your guys still get HR with even radio 1.46.xx I sould suggest that first you flash with original WM6 which come with radio 1.46.xx and then flash the rom to your need.
I dont know whats the details of WM6 original with 1.46.xx can stay longer with WM6.1 flashed.
FYI and i'm happy with it now.

Yeah, I haven't flashed my device with anything yet - its a P3600i running the standard HTC images, but before I do I just want to say here that I am guessing that stability might happen if you flash your device back to the original image completely - By actually running the RUU_Trinity_DOPODASIA_WWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30 .11_108_Ship.exe or whatever image that you get from HTC. You must run it - you can't just flash the radio ROM from it - I think flashing 1.46 Radios is not enough if you have already installed 1.56 or whatever Radios.

If someone does this - runs the .exe and gets it back to the standard HTC flash, and then loads up the 316i ROM without updating the Radio any further does this provide a stable environment? By stable I mean no HR's or no SR's required - my phone does not require SR's or HR's at all at the moment.

If the phone is stable after this with no HR's or SR's required, then I would love to upgrade.

or if you change any USB to PC settings in Settings...

I know that for 2 weeks but unfortunately I can't really do pretty much about it, I'm retired!

hi tnyynt,

since there is even a small community using p3600i.
I will try to build a rom for them (and me too) I don't know if i can do it or not. Hope that you or someone can help me to understand the file system or ROM a bit more.

taking on board recommendations, all i've done the following today to try to solve the HR with my 3600i.

1 - Download original ROM+RADIO from HTC web site
File RUU_Trinity_DOPODASIA_WWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30 .11_108_Ship
2 - Install & confirm that RADIO = 1.46.30.11 & ROM = 3.00.707.18
3 - Allow to boot & test that Radio & ROM are working ok (test call)
4 - Install 316iTNYBSN ROM

Now testing to see if i have HR issue over the next few days & will let you know the outcome.

Hope this works & thanks for the help!

Hey Andy,

I sync all the time when I near a computer. So at work and home pretty much is running. I got XP OS only. Never try with Vista.

I got Activesync killer and auto-hibernate running. Also top bar, FTouchFlo and WkTask running as well.

I never sync and I've gotten HRs.

Although mine will happen out of nowhere, e.g. last time it happened I had just closed solitaire, and the screen went white. HR followed.

I plug mine in to transfer files, but don't sync contacts or anything, so yeh, syncing might reduce the likelihood of HRs (only happened 2-3 times for me), but definitely doesn't rule out the possibility.

Mine has now been up for well over a week with no HR or SR at all. When I did have a HR what happened was the screen would not respond at all. The power button would bring turn the screen on but nothing would happen....no other buttons worked and when I tried a SR it hung at the first splash screen.

It happened to me twice, both times while connected to Activesync, so now I have minimal software loaded (don't need it anyway). All I have is Tomtom 7 and a tsk other than the ROM standard, plus if I sync the phone it comes off the cradle once it has synced.
So far all is good.....now I have most likely jinxed myself....lol.

10 days.. no hard reset problems... Just do my solution...
Flash to the original asia wwe rom... (the original file - NOT the seperate radio rom of the original version) and then flash any rom that you want... and the original radio rom will stay... And you will see that you will never see again a hard reset

Thanks all for the help in trying to get this ROM working, especially tnyynt.

I reflashed my 3600i with the HTC shipping version downloaded from the HTC web site - RUU_Trinity_DOPODASIA_WWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30 .11_108_Ship.

It ran ok for a few days, as per normal, however woke up this morning, sadly my device had hard reset during the night. I then completed another manual HR just to be sure i started the basic configuration. An hour later & without any additional software installed or activesync completed it did another "automatic hard reset".

So i can 100% confirm this issue doesn't have anything to do with what base ROM and RADIO you start from.

26% of the way through re-flashing the HTC WM6 default ROM :(

Most of all i'm going to miss the speed of the ROM our wonderful chef tnyynt put together, still believe it's a great ROM (if you can get working).

Hope this post helps someone else & good luck for those still seeking an answer.

Well I am buggered if I know why some peoples phones won't run with this ROM.....mine has been up for nearly 2 weeks now without any HR's or SR's.
I say mine but my wife is now using it and to be honest she is harder on it than me as she uses it for personal calls and txt messages during the day as well as having Tomtom on for several hours each day in her job as a Rep.
There are no memory leaks (still up around the 23meg free) and the speed is still fantastic.

Andych, i'll pray that you continue to have no issues with this ROM, so fast.....so stable (between HR)......it was good while it lasted!

I'm back on the original ROM now, slow........so going to have a look at both Karmba_a v10.2, PDAVIET v41 & Mary v3.7. Any thoughts would be welcome, not fussed about space or installed apps, more fussed about speed & reliability.

To be honest....Karmba_a 10.2 was OK....a bit slow though and you need to use the BT patch. the same for PDAVIET41.
Mary 3.7 SL was good, but it was a Super lite version so you will need to install whatever apps you need.
I have to tell you though, I had HR problems on all but Mary 3.7SL but haven't had the same problems with tnyynt's ROMs.

All I can suggest is for you to try them and see....personal tastes etc....you might love one ROM that I hate etc.

Speak of the devil :P

I was playing a game today (James Bond this time lol) and the game froze - went to perform a reset and the phone hung on the white HTC boot screen! I was scared, as normally on a hang, a soft reset will at least get to the Windows Mobile boot screen... this one has never happened to me before (nor have I heard of it occurring).

Had to reflash the phone (luckily I had scheduled backups)... now all seems to be OK, but it did scare me for a while (fear of the unknown).

While many of you seem to have no trouble with this ROM, can I just remind you to take nothing for granted, and to have PIMBackup run a scheduled backup while you're sleeping at night or whatever, just so that you don't have any nasty surprises that you can't recover from.

iPhone is OK....great user interface but I would really like more flexibility in setting stuff up the way I want.
If HTC had only come out with a Diamond that had 16GB storage and a decent equivalent to Apples music player I would have gone that way.

As for my P3600i, my other half is using it and having no problems at all....relaible, fast etc. It must like the fact that I am not looking to re-flash it all the time.

Mine is on 24/7, all I do is put it to sleep using a single press of the power button. Battery life is so good there is no need to turn it off.
To be honest I don't have any back-ups at all. If it does need to be re-set I have all that I need on the Mini SD card os it is a simple matter to re-flash and once it goes through its little start-up routines run the couple of cabs and it is done. The important phone numbers are on the SIM card and the rest get uploaded when it next gets synced.
I now only sync the phone to upload contacts, other than that it just gets charged from a 240v charger.

vnt,

No. Never hard reset with 317i. Way over 3 weeks mark now. Doing all sort of things on it. No stuck on boot screen after reset/restart. Mind you, there were two occasions that my phone was hanged during some application (I forgot which one now, could be Avantgo or ActiveSync)... Under normal circumstances, HR sign coming first to my mind, but luckily it just restarted as normal.

I was on Mary 3.7 SL previously, but it keeps on crashing on me, worst case 5 times day then give up change to:

Karmba_a 10.2 diamond > Mary 3.7 SL (keep on crashing) > Mary 3.6 (good, over 1.5 wks no HR) > 315i > 316i > 317i (over 3 weeks no HR).

How are you going?

Yeah, before these 6.1 roms I never had to back up my system...

But:
1. losing my contacts, msgs and everything; learnt about PIMbackup. Ok that solved it. Then it comes...
2. always need at least 30 mins get the damn phone back in my prefer settings, that just killed me. So lucky I learnt about SPB Back Up. This is a very software, worth your money in anyway! I highly recommend this to everyone!

If you download this RAR http://www.4shared.com/file/61745448/830703e6/Trinity_WM_61.html
it is the basic package needed. Unpack it and then copy the 317 RUU_signed.nbh file into the folder. You can then run the Romupdate utility as normal.

NOTE: This ROM is ONLY for P3600i and you MUST have Hard SOL installed first or it will not work. All responsibility is yours, if you manage to brick your phone because you don't know what you are doing it isn't my fauly...lol.

I answered item 1 in your Private Message.
2 Not as far as I know, BT works fine for everything other than Activesyc.
3 Exactly as it says, it kills activesync after you have syncronised, without it Activesync continues to run in the background.

This is a very stable and fast ROM (317iTNYSTD - CE OS 5.2.20273 (Build 20273.1.3.3).

The only glitch that I have found is that after loading the new ROM (no other programs added) is if I add "HTC Enlarge Start Menu.cab" 188Kb file (available elsewhere in this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344533).

The start menu items do go large but nothing happens when you try to click on file explorer or settings on that menu so effectively the ROM has to be reloaded. Guess the small add-on was not designed for the 3600i but for later models.

Hope in the next ROM version that HTC home plug-in can be updated to version 2.1.1005.722! Otherwise a great vote of thanks and effort on the part of tnyynt.
