Just a quick poll to see if you will be buying HTC branded devices offline or getting them from your carriers.

HTC device every time ;)

Yeah same for me. The HTC TyTN II was the first device I'd bought offline and frankly...I don't think there's any going back!

It is however more expensive. But then when my upgrade is due, I will just get an upgrade or take money off my bill. If I get a device I will flog it on ebay! Evens out really, plus the HTC styling is always nicer (physically I mean but the same applies to the ROMs).

Raphael won't be available in the US for a looong time (I'm GSM of course) so I have to try to work that AT&T ROM onto a European version before then. :)

I'll also go for a Touch Pro without contract - I'll buy it most likely from Amazon for 650,-Euro.

(..it's not like we have a choice here in Bulgaria, phones don't get any carriers' subsidies but..) Definitelly w/o contract.

Yea but you wont get 1900 HSDPA. THat is if I understood your statement correctly. It was hard to follow.

I did say AT&T ROM... Now why would AT&T come out with a ROM that won't work on their own network?

So you are saying that if i get the euro version-- and flash it with att rom. I will be able to get American 1900 3g? Yea it thought that it was a hardware issue. I feel like i should know this.

It all depends on how generous Tmobileuk are with their upgrade offers. In May 2007, a few months after it came out, I got the Compact 3 free on an 18 months Flext25 contract at £18.50 a month. So it cost me £333 including all my calls (I never go over my limit)

I'm hoping/expecting them to come up with the goods again in October when I'm due my next upgrade. But if they don't I will look around for the cheapest TCO and take the plunge for that one.

Having said that, if they muck about with it too much, removing 3G/wifi, a whacky case redesign etc then I will probably jump ship anyway

Where's the option for BOTH?

I'll get an HTC one and then a T-Mobile upgrade one to sell.

Haha, good man. Are all of the T-Mobile upgrades going to be badged as T-Mobile? I'd like to buy one to flash and use here in the states, but I'm on AT&T so that would be sacreligious. :)

My contracts are up on 2 phones for ATT: just biding my time until the Tpro is available. Then I'll probably try the Omnia for a while to see if I can deal with no keyboard (coming from the 8525, tilt, and 8125, I don't believe so.), then probably end up with the Tpro. But then my daughter, who's using my Tilt will want a Tpro, I'm thinking. But the best part of it is, I've got another contract up in 12/25/ 08! I sure hope I won't disappointed.:D

I just wish the x1 would be around for ATT!
